brendas review

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received this ARC about 3 weeks ago.  I was in the middle of a few other books so it sat on my kindle for about 2 weeks!  THEN I started it!   HOLY CRAP!  Why did I let it sit for so long?

I was sucked in from page one!  I believe I even cried on page 1 (or very close).  The story was so heart-wrenching, but I had to keep reading.  I recently started watching the new TV show, Quantico, about these FBI trainees.  I love this show….well this book is also about FBI agents and some trainees.  So when I started to read about the characters, I started picturing the characters from the TV show.  Well that soon changed because the description and characters from the book started to come to life.

The story is about Madison (Maddie) who is just getting her PhD and also joining the FBI.   She did not have a very good childhood, and is still living through that tragedy.  Her “father” is in prison, he’s a serial killer.  He escapes and is now after Maddie.

But Maddie has two HOT SEXY FBI agents (Scott and Liam) to watch over her.  Scott is the all-around good guy and Liam is the “bad-boy” of the FBI.  So you probably know who I was rooting for?!?  Yep, Liam.  I’m a sucker for a bad-boy.   I won’t tell you who she ends up with……

The story grabs you from the start and you read and read and read….then stop because you “need a minute” to gain control again.  I tell you, I couldn’t get out of this story after I finished.  It is still with me and I’ve been done for a week now.  You will be able to “see” this as a movie in your head.

I had several messages to Gen….laughing, crying, sobbing, and a few WTH did you just do to me!!!  Of course she loved that I cried….. they always do that!  Such torture!

So GOOO!!  One-Click now!!  It’s SOOO worth it!!  I cannot wait for more from Gen Ryan.

I lifted my arm to remove my shirt, and my face contorted in pain. I was so incredibly sore. Each muscle in my body stretched and ached. Scott moved in front of me and put his hands at the seam of my shirt. His fingers lightly brushed against my bruised skin. I didn’t feel the pain, though—just the sensual coolness of his touch. The unexpected pleasure masked the pain that had overtaken my body. I melted into his hands. He removed my shirt with such care I didn’t feel a single muscle strain. I lifted my head and our eyes connected.

His blazing eyes were full of sex and comfort, and I wanted what they offered. As he touched my cheek, my body curled in to him.

“You almost said you loved me.” His eyes were lustful as they wandered down the length of my body. They stopped at my center as he licked his lips in anticipation. I clenched my thighs together for fear that the wetness that had formed there would seep through. I felt vulnerable. Exposed. I also felt amazing. No barriers were between us, no walls that needed to be torn down—just pure unadulterated love.

You can find Genevieve curled up reading paranormal romance and romantic thrillers, or frantically typing her stories on her laptop.

Psychology is her trade by day, teaching and molding the minds of college students. Her interest in psychology can be seen in her books, each including many psychological undertones. Although she loves teaching,  her passion, her true love, lays in the stories that roam around her in head. Yes, they all come from her mind–the good, the bad, and the totally insane.

She lives in Massachusetts–no not Boston-with her husband, daughter, and American Eskimo dog. With each story she shares, she hopes her love for writing and storytelling seeps through, encompassing the reader and leaving them wanting more.
