Roman ‘Bane’ Protsenko
Naked surfer. Habitual pothead. A con, a liar, a thief and a fraud.
Last I heard, he was extorting the rich and screwing their wives for a living.
Which is why I’m more than a little surprised to find him at my threshold, looking for my friendship, my services, and most puzzling of all—looking humbled.
Thing is, I’m on a boycott. Literally—I cut boys from my life. Permanently.
Problem is, Bane is not a boy, he is all man, and I’m falling, crashing, drowning in his sweet, perfect lies.

Jesse Carter
Hot as hell, cold as ice.
I wasn’t aware of her existence until a fat, juicy deal landed in my lap.
She’s a part of it, a little plaything to kill some time.
She is collateral, a means to an end, and a side-bonus for striking a deal with her oil tycoon stepdad.
More than anything, Jesse Carter is a tough nut to crack.
Little does she know, I have the teeth for it.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

Yeah, so I loved Vicious. He was my favourite throughout the whole series and then boom, Bane happened. But I am not complaining in the least. I’m sad to have finished this series because I feel like I’ve been reading it for years but that’s just because I’m a super slow reader. Anyway. Jesse is my favourite of the heroines. She’s actually my favourite heroine out of all of LJ’s books. She’s broken but oh so strong. She went through a traumatic experience that no one should ever have to go through but she came out fighting in the end!

Bane…oh Bane. He was broken in his own way as well and I loved him for Jesse and her for him. Together, they were explosive. I liked Bane’s humor and how he just doesn’t care what people think of him. I also liked how he was there for Jesse when she needed but also gave her space just the same. They were perfect for each other. I also liked seeing Vicious cause who doesn’t right?

I do wish that Bane would have shown the guys who hurt Jesse a thing or two. Or let her do it. But that’s just because I like blood and feel they deserved more than what they got.

I enjoyed all of the side characters in this story as well and was also happy that we got a little more insight into Bane’s mom.

Great job, LJ, and I look forward to reading the rest of your books!
