Can you say SPIN OFF??!!!! Lone Wolf Defenders is a spin off of Alicia Montgomery’s Fated Mates series. We met Killian in the last book of the Fated Mate series Tempted by The Wolf. Killian one of three adopted brothers of Meredith from that book.
This series is about all the brothers and Killian being the first.
Killian is a lone wolf, a wolf with no family but his adopted family, no clan of his own. For those of you who don’t know Killian, his brothers, and Meredith were raised by a human who taught them skills to do several things, security, espionage, surveillance, protection, and if need be theft.
He and his brothers now work for Sebastian Creed and are running a branch of security called what else “Lone Wolf Security” and he and his brothers are being allowed to in New York because of this and because their sister is pledged to the New York Alpha.
Now that the scene is set, lets get down to business!!
4 months before his adopted father died Killian was on a job to steal back a lost tapestry for a country that was once war torn. While doing this job he met Luna. While originally he was just using her for the job he grew to really like her.
Things happened ( No I’m not telling you what, you gotta read the book!) and they were torn apart.
Now they are once again in the same city and a chance meeting has them together again.
Luna hates Killian after the way things happened between them, she also is still in love with him though she doesn’t what to be, and now she needs him to keep her safe. Killian has put Luna out of his mind but not out off his heart.
There are so many ups and downs in this book. Montgomery does a great job of keeping a reader on their toes!!!
These Lone Wolves could totally be alphas, that is how strong a lone wolf is.
Killian he has Luna best interest at heart, but totally thinks his way is the only way to get things done and she has no problem telling him how wrong he is.
After things are totally cleared up will they stay with each other? I’m not telling…………..
I will say this though, this new series is gonna be a good one these brothers are super yummy and and strong as heck.

Ok, let me start off with I’ve never read any of Lane’s paranormal work before, just her military and MC, but I loved this! This series doesn’t just have shifters in it, but demons, vampires, and witches too. One Bad Bite is the first book in the Series of the same name. In this book we meet Jenna O’Conner, kickass new member of Wilmington’s SWAT team. With Jenna it’s a case of “looks can be deceiving” because her petite frame hides what’s really inside. She is a shifter, but no one outside of her mother and two uncles know, she’s been made to hide all her life because she is a hybrid and been told that the community of Others finding out would be a death sentence.
Jenna is written just like I like my heroines, tough! She is a girl who knows and goes after what she wants, which is a life. She knows she wants to be in law enforcement and does it, by assuring her mom and uncle that she will keep hidden. On Jenna’s first day she is sent out with her unit to handle a hostage situation, this is where she meets her partner Kent. At the situation she meets, Adam McPhee. Adam, hot, redheaded, motorcycle drivin’ Alpha wolf of North Carolina.
When Jenna finds out that Kent is a Demon, while they’re out after their shift and she takes off. She has been warned after all that any Other that finds out about her isn’t good. When she runs out of the bar who’s there? Adam, that’s who!! Kent tries to talk to her and tell her it’s ok, but she still runs and Adam chases. It’s during the chase that Adam discovers that she is a wolf!! This story has it all wolves, tigers, demons. Of course some of them are bad and the bad ones aren’t just bad; in my mind, they’re evil.
Adam and Jenna must work together, with her long lost family, to save another pack master. Along the way Jenna finds out not every Other wants hybrids dead. Adam finds out Jenna is no ordinary human-wolf hybrid, but a demon-wolf hybrid the only one on Earth. Together they find the piece that’s been missing in their life, each other.

Trace does a great job at bringing the hotness with this story as well as angst. There’s also the fact that Doyle and James got hooked up with Shellie at the Club with the help of her friend. They want a forever deal while she is determined that after they leave the club the triad ends.
Will Shellie be able to let go and be with both of them? Will the guys be able to tell each other how they feel about the other?
What happens is a story of a triad finding their way and trying to make a real go after the heat of vacation ends.

Owen Gallagher- the organizer hottie of the Gallagher Brothers. He likes list, planners, order, and a fine woman.
Liz McKinley – overworked RN, brand new home owner, and wants nothing to do with men.
A chance meeting at a bar can change so many things.
The two meet with a hello and never think anymore about it. When Owen ends up in her hospital ER Liz wants nothing more than to help him get treated and move on, because once the hospital gossip knows that she knows him, it doesn’t matter how or that they briefly just met that evening, it’s fodder for the mill.
After Owen’s brother Graham and wife finally let him go back his house after him staying with them, all he wants to do is sleep in his own bed with his own pillow.
When his younger brother sees who his new neighbors are though, resting can wait because its none other than Liz and her best friend.
Fate keeps throwing these two together and I love it. While they both love their list and plans, they each have something that the other needs. He can show her that someone who truly loves you stays. She can show him that list and plans are great, but so is living in the moment.
As scared as it makes her Liz just can’t stay away from him. He makes her feel so much and when she feels too much and runs, he always gives her time to clear her head and then he gets back in there where he belongs.
Owen falls for her quickly and though he is busy with trying to get a big bid for the company, he always puts her first even when her running kills him.
Ryan once again does a great job writing about someone who has had a past trauma and learns to truly live when they feel safe and loved.
Gallagher’s are four brothers that would do anything for each other, we’ve seen that in Graham’s book Love Restored and in Jake’s book Ink Enduring. We see it again in Owen’s book when they help him show Liz what a family really is.
I can not wait to read Murphy’s book next, i think it well be a tear jerker.

Mamrie Hart is a woman who has a show on YouTube called You Deserve A Drink. She comes up with a topic or person to discuss, a drink to go with it, and shows you how to make it. For Example, on one episode she made a drink called A Donut F**k With Me Martini and proceeded to talk about National Donut day. I laughed my booty off the whole time I watched.
Ok, now that you know a little about Mamrie let me tell you about her book.
It’s filled with stories from her childhood, college days, well from her life. Not the sweet sentimental stories, stories that will make you laugh out loud so hard while you’re reading it while in the salon that people stare at you and think somethings wrong!!
One chapter had me laughing so hard, my ten yr old daughter started laughing at me!!!
She is funny, likes to drink, tells you like it is, and is totally owns her shit!! If I was younger and was anywhere near her, I’d try to get myself a spot on her squad.
I have to say the hubby did good picking out this book, for a non-fiction it rocked!! If you don’t know who Mamrie Hart is look her up on YouTube. Also, each chapter starts off with a drink recipe and she tells you about a built in drinking game in the Foreword!!

Everybody has something about their high school years that they either wish that they had done or regret that they did do. Whether it’s asking a person out, realizing that as a kid you weren’t the nicest person, or that you didn’t really see the world around you. Whatever it was, just remember that could be the thing that set you one the path of who you are today and would you change that person?
Grayson Clearly was the bad boy, the high school drop out. He really didn’t want to leave the home he made for himself in
Denver to go back to the small town Texas for his high school reunion, his best friend makes him.
Kate St. Dalton was the class Valedictorian, had a full scholarship, and was engaged to her high school sweetheart.
A lot can change in 10 years and you can kind out all kinds of things about people that you thought you knew.
Grayson is a hunky, bearded, tattooed man. Please wait while I wipe the drool!! Lol!! He is a very strong man and I’m not just talking muscles here, but he has those too!!! In high school he had a crush on Kate and seeing her again after all this time just reminds him of that.
Kate is definitely not the girl she was in school. She’s had to move back to her home town and live with a lot of the town, her parents included, looking at her with disappointment that she didn’t live up to her potential.
So, the feelings come fast between these two, I mean they haven’t seen each other in 10 years and never really knew each other beyond what you see in school, and yet it works. They learn things about each other they never knew, things that shaped them into the person they are today.
In learning those things they realize that if Grayson had acted on that crush in high school, they might not be these adults and might not stand a chance, so the time wasn’t right. Now though, now the time is perfect and though it’s fast it is exactly what the two need.
Ryan has wrote another great couple. Grayson and Kate are two kids that grew to be the adults that other needed to be complete.
This is one reunion that I am not missing if all the stories are this good!!!

Slade and Jill have been circling each other for a while, Jill is so sure that she is not good enough for him and he is sure that she is too innocent for him.
The training for Jill and the other half-breeds is in full force because the test to be warrior is soon and guess who is one of Jill’s trainers? Slade!! Jax, the other of their trainers, thinks she’s a liability and shouldn’t be there while Slade knows she can do it, but is trying not to show how much she’s getting to him.
This book is full of laughs when Jill out shoots the guys in one scene and has to be taught, by the mates of the other Warriors, how the pole dance for an undercover op in another.
Jill shows what a strong female she is by taking the hide road when she goes to check on her father, since she was put out after being turned. Slade stands by her even when he wants to be strong for her when she’s hurting.
Teresa keeps the story down to earth with Jill learning to drive, but she keeps it hot with Slade being the one that helps her!! Let’s face it, any scene with Slade is hot!!
There’s lots that I could tell you about this story like, you’ll need tissues, you’ll laugh your ass off, and there’s lots I’m leaving out but, when in comes down to it, this is not a story of how the hot doctor gets the girl, this is the story of how a strong, kickass, woman of power, who doesn’t know just how strong she is, gets the man of her fantasies.
Teresa Gableman does a great job with her characters and let’s them tell their own story I feel, and in doing so she always leaves me waiting on pins and needles wanting more!!

Griffin Reed is Maxon Reed’s estranged brother. 3 years ago he believed his brother and the woman that he loved lied and kept him in the dark, his hurt ego caused him to shove them both away and to do a bad thing. It took years for him to realize what he did and why but now he wants them both back.
More Than Need You doesn’t pick up right where More Than Want You ended, but about a couple of weeks before.
Britta Stone loved Griffin with everything she had, he was her first in all ways and when he shoved her away he crushed her.
When she finally is moving on with her life, Griffin comes roaring back claiming that he didn’t know about their son and that he still loves her.
Man, Black wrote a good one here. Griffin trying to prove that he does in fact want to be the man that Britta need, even though she already is engaged, shows that he knows what he did all though years ago was beyond stupid. Britta still loves him and she fights so hard against it and its no wonder with how badly he hurt her, should she believe that he is changed and give him another chance or should she stand continue to guard her heart and marry a man she doesn’t love just because she knows he’s a safe bet.
Seeing Griff try to get her back is awesome, but seeing him be a father? That right there is panty melting!!!
Yes Griff did something stupid, but when he explains why he has such a hard time trusting the good in things you can see that it was bound to happen at some point, it just happened with his brother and Britta and it ended up hurting him too.
Also, seeing him get his brother back and to be working with him, shows that family is everything and you really need to talk before you do something stupid when you jump to conclusions.
I can’t wait to see what happens with Griffin and Maxon’s sister in the next book, if she’s anything like her brother’s it’s gonna be good.

At the Louisville Authors Event in May I was at Vanessa Marie’s table checking things out and she started telling me about this book. Said it had a Jesse James type guy, a strong female lead, and lots of angst. I thought to myself, hey I like all those things, so I had to check it out and I’m so glad I did!!
Jada Carmen is unlike most of the girls she knows. She grew up in a trailer park, still lives with her parents, and works at a job she hates just because it has a little to do with the one thing she loves. Don’t let all that fool you into thinking that Jada is a girl that is lazy and wants to do nothing with her life.
She lives in the trailer park with her parents because that’s what they can afford, after she pays her father’s medical bills. She works a job she hates because it’s close to home, helps pay those bills, and because it puts her around cars which she loves. Jada’s dream is to be a metal fabricator like her idol Jesse Valentine. However, being a chick no one wants to teach her anything so everything she has learned comes from YouTube or she has taught herself. That right, this chick is so resourceful that she has learned to weld watching YouTube videos!!
When her mom shows her a add that saying her idol, TV’s Jesse Valentine of Valentine Street Rods, is having a open to the public one time only class she flips!! When her mom gives her the money so she can do it and says she needs to follow her dream no matter what anyone says, including her father, she freaks even more but she applies and gets in!!!
Now enters Jesse Valentine, yummy tattooed goodness!!! That is until he opens his mouth!!! He totally ruins it by trying to bring Jada down and she’s the best in the class!!
Oh, the angst between these two!! She stand up to him, fights with him even though she stands up to no one else. There is pull to her that he just can’t get away from. The will they or won’t they just kills me.
If you are like me and like tension between your hero and heroine, like guys with tattoos, and love a strong female character, you have to pick this one up!!! Seriously, go out and get it !!!

Another brooding Montgomery? Yes please!!!!!
Storm Montgomery is one of the Montgomery twins and co-owner of the Montgomery Inc construction company that his father started. The man has a big secret and has been carrying around so long that I think its starting to get to him.
Everly Law is the widow of Storm’s best friend. The three of them were all friends in college and remained close afterwards. When Jonathan died Ev was pregnant with twins and went into labor when she was told about his death. For the past three years, she has been a single mom and business owner. She doesn’t like to need help from anyone, but especially Storm who is boys godfather.
Something hasn’t been quite right between the two for a while and neither knows why.
First off Ev is a strong as h*** woman, any single mom is. You can see in the way that Ryan writes, that her boys are her life.
Storm loves those little boys like they are his own and will do anything for them and Ev. The two do not see the attraction that they have for each other, it’s almost funny.
Second, secrets can’t stay hidden forever whether you spill it yourself or someone from the past does it, they are going to come out.
Storm secret isn’t as bad as he thinks it is, but it does lead him in finding a secret that isn’t is own, one that could kill Everly.
I love watching two people come together and these two are no exception. It takes them a while to figure out that they are better together, stronger together, but they do. The Montgomery family is known for being bigger than life and pulling people into it and that is what they did to Everly and her boys before her and Storm got together. I will be sad when these series comes to a end, I’m really going to miss this family that you can help but fall in love with. However, I’m super happy that we will be getting a spin off with another branch of the Montgomery family and Ryan did a great job of introducing some of the new players with a family cookout.
Storm and Everly, finding love after years of friendship is a beautiful thing. Storm finally letting go of his secret and finding some closure is too. The final Montgomery, well Denver Montgomery, is going to be a doozy and I can’t wait for Storm’s twin to get his!!!!
