Dungari Reclaim (Alien Alphas of Pilathna #2) by Nikki Landis

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Another amazing read from this author.  I was a bit nervous entering this word in the last book.  This book I knew what to expect and I was so excited to see where we would go.

This book does not disappoint.  There are many times in the story with Pasha and Holnar’s past troubles that made my heart ache for them.  Pasha is straight up broken and very bitter woman after her heart break.  She is very driven and will so her job.  Holnar won’t succumb to the ugly side of loss thought.  He is not like everyone else and will do what he can for everyone.

There is so much happening so buckle up because you are in for one heck of a ride.  This story is just as amazing as the first book.  I am super excited for book 3 and cant wait to see what happens then.

#WOTR20, #NewRelease, #SpinOff, #Vampires, #VCWarriors, Tessa: The Mates Series(Book 2) by Teresa Gabelman

Tessa Pride, mate to VC Warrior Jared Kincaid, is doing everything in her power to become a respected Warrior in her own right. Unfortunately, her mate isn’t quite as excited about her passion. Tessa walks into the role with a newfound sense of determination knowing her decisions could end her relationship with the man she loves.

With everything to lose, Tessa steps into the battle of earning the right to walk next to her mate in life, love, and work. Though she is also ready to walk alone if necessary, she will make sure Jared Kincaid regrets that for the rest of his life.

The Mate series delves into the kickass world of the Warriors’ mates and how united, they can make a difference—just like their badass Protectors. Follow along to see how these exceptional women’s newfound freedom affect those around them and which Warrior may or may not support their feisty independent mate’s new and exciting path.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book

I am so glad that Teresa Gabelman decided to do a spin-off for the mates of the VC Warriors.  She did a great job giving us the first book in the series with Nicole and she’s on a roll with the second book Tessa.
If you have read the series you know that Tessa is a strong woman that can and will do what is needed.  Tessa’s only problem, I feel, is that she has a huge problem with seeing herself has that woman.  Oh, sure on some level she knows she’s a strong person but deep down she truly doesn’t feel it because she doesn’t know herself.
Now her mate is one alpha male VC Warrior known as Jared Kincade.  Jared has slowly dropped down the list of my favorite warriors because he has what I like to call douchebagitis.  He’s always been in my top three and lets face it if I  had him as my number one Twinsie Angie would kill me, which is cool because I’ve been in love with Slade since he walked onto the pages of Duncan’s book.
Sorry, sorry, thought of Slade and lost track, LOL, back to Tessa and Jared.
Since the mates have been training with the warriors to all the Males have slowly stood behind their mates decision, with the exception of Jared and it has been causing a rift to form.
In this story we get to see Tessa find and total believe in herself and her power as a woman and a vampire.  Major secrets are spilled by Jared, which is the reason he has been behaving the way he has, and we get to see a group of new vamps called The Dark Guardians.  We are also get to see Tessa and Adam’s POS father for the first time too.
There’s passion, drama, and you’ll need tissues because there is also tears with this one.  I’m excited to see where Gabelman is going with the demon outbreak and to see who the next mate is gonna be.
I do have one small side note for her, well it’s more of a request, more Slade please!!!!  Hee, hee, hee, I don’t see where having more of him in any book is a bad thing.

Hell hath no fury…. Like a Jimmy Choo wearing woman from Palm Beach being forced to wear hiking boots in the middle of the woods. Ha! Right from the very beginning, Katie is a pain in the rear and you just know she is going to be trouble. Women, even the strong ones, are all trouble, lol! But, with that being said, so are the boys….all trouble!

Fawn and Katie are both from Palm Beach and Fawn is going to marry the Alpha, Bo, of Big Timber. Katie is dragging her feet, complaining about everything saying nothing good will come of this. In the meantime, the packs in the area are all hurting from Kallus’ attack. Dax has reluctantly assumed the position as Alpha of Crazy Peak. His pack has suffered greatly and he goes to Big Timber asking for help. Unfortunately, Big Timber doesn’t want to help as they are dealing with their own issues as well, but none of the packs are communicating. Dax is going crazy with The Hunger. Katie all of a sudden gets incredibly sick. And then things get really crazy. Pack members are coming up missing or dead. Other packs do come to help. We are then introduced to a cult like group obsessed with exterminating abominations. The girls come up missing. The guys are going crazy. And then, and then, and then……

Dax’s and Katie’s story will rival many. These two are at a point that they can’t live without each other. True mates. The story is action packed. Full of drama, suspense, and beautiful magic. Once you start the story, you will have a hard time putting it down. I started laughing from the start thinking about how much alike Katie and I are. And watching how these girls keep all the guys on their toes is amazing. It was an incredible story of love while overcoming discriminations and injustices. A beautiful HEA seeing the mates come together as well as the packs. Loving this addition to A Wolf’s Hunger.

#NewRelease, #Review, #MontgomeryInk, Wrapped in Ink(Montgomery Ink: Boulder #1) by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Montgomery Ink saga continues with a new series set in Boulder, where a family secret might just change everything.

One mistake at a friend’s wedding rocks Liam Montgomery’s entire world, and everything he thought was true turns out to be a lie. But when an accident lands him in the ER, Liam meets someone that might just be the distraction he needs.

Arden Brady has spent her life in and out of hospitals. But according to the world, she doesn’t look sick. She’s lost jobs and friends because they don’t see beneath the surface, but she’s learned to rely on her family and herself to keep going. And then she meets Liam.

With two sets of overprotective siblings and a puppy that can’t help but get into everything, Liam and Arden might just fall harder than either one ever expected.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book

Can we say HELLO Liam Montgomery!!!!  Ah Liam, the name brings to mind Liam Neeson, Liam Hemsworth, and now Liam Montgomery.  I love Liams hee, hee, hee!!
Now with Wrapped in Ink we are onto another branch of the Montgomery tree.  I have to say whoever planned that tree must have been a angel because everyone of them, male and female, are as hot as they are talented.
Liam is a former model turned writer and he’s the Boulder branch’s pretty boy because of it.
Arden Brady has been through hell and sometimes she revisits that most awesome of places when she doesn’t want to, lets face it she never wants to.
Liam and Arden meet in the most unlikely of places…….. a hospital.
What happens next is a story of a man trying to deal with a identity crisis and a woman who doesn’t know how to deal with a man who might not go away like has always happened to her in the past.
Liam thinks that he can use Arden as a distraction but soon discovers he needs her as much as she needs him.
Once again Ryan writes of a couple that could be your next door neighbors. While her characters are talented and beautiful, they are also very down to earth and go through things that we here in the real world deal with.  With Liam it’s a secret from his parents past that he has to deal with and with Arden it’s her health.  Along with the Boulder Montgomerys we meet Arden’s four over protective, over bearing brothers. They are all alpha males, but they make your heart stop every time they are in a scene.
Like with every Montgomery Book you don’t have to have read the series but it helps if  you like to get a whole world view of these characters and their family.
I’m excited to see more of the Montgomery’s and to maybe get another glimpse of the Brady Brothers.
Before I head out i forgot to mention one tiny little thing……………….
THE COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy cover models Batman, this cover has become one of my favorite covers that Carrie Ann Ryan has.
He captured Liam perfectly!!
Carrie Ann Ryan is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romance. Her works include the Montgomery Ink, Redwood Pack, Talon Pack, and Gallagher Brothers series, which have sold over 2.0 million books worldwide. She started writing while in graduate school for her advanced degree in chemistry and hasn’t stopped since. Carrie Ann has written over fifty novels and novellas with more in the works. When she’s not writing about bearded tattooed men or alpha wolves that need to find their mates, she’s reading as much as she can and exploring the world of baking and gourmet cooking.

#ReleaseDay #review – Keeping Ava (Police and Fire: Operation Alpha) by Elena M. Reyes

Keeping Ava (Police and Fire: Operation Alpha)

I should have said no.

When they asked me to take over this assignment and protect her with my life.

When at the sight of her, my heart beat like a war drum inside my chest.

When those light green eyes met mine and the world stopped.

I should’ve—but didn’t.

And now it’s too late because I’ve broken the rules and tasted the forbidden fruit.

I’ll never let her go.

Goodreads

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Guuurl do I love your books.  They are so naughty and steamy they melt my kindle.  I have missed reading your stuff because life so when I got this I was thrilled!!

This story is a sexy as hell cop and of course a virgin.  Now don’t go all hating on that story because its awesomely good!!  Yes its cliché but it still rocked out with giant cop c*ck!  OOOF I made this filthy already.

The story has suspense and twists like we expect from Elena.  It also has her big bad alpha hero, Elijah, looking to do everything to save Ava.

Seriously a great book to read!!!

Elena M. Reyes is the epitome of a Floridian and if she could live in her beloved flip-flops, she would.

As a small child, she was always intrigued by all forms of art: whether it was dancing to island rhythms, or painting with any medium she could get her hands on. Her passion for reading over the years has amassed her with hours of pleasure, but it wasn’t until she stumbled upon fanfiction that her thirst to write overtook her world.

She’s a short and sassy Latina with an adorable pup, a kiddo that keeps her on her toes, and a husband who claims she’ll cause him to go bald prematurely. Lol

Wes

From the author of the St. Fleur series comes a fun tale of finding love in the emergency room.

Nurse. Mom. Daughter. Natalia Kruze wore many hats, but mom was the role she was most proud of. As a single mom, she couldn’t be everywhere at once, but she had been blessed with a patient son and helpful parents. Dating wasn’t high on the priority list, so it was safe to say it had been years since she’d experienced any kind of electrifying spark from a man.

With her defenses low after missing another soccer game, a patient catches her eye. Sexy and decidedly stubborn, Wes Wilkins succeeds in leaving his ER visit with her number.

Had they finally found the love they deserved, or will they put their dreams second to their kids’ needs?

CHAPTER REVEAL:

Chapter One

Natalia

“Jeremy!” I yell and stare at the pile of clothes next to the hamper.

“What?”

My eyes narrow on my son’s beautiful face, and I remind myself how much I adore him. “Excuse me?”

“Yes, ma’am?”

I nod. “Were you working on your basketball skills and failed?”

Jeremy looks from me to the pile I’m still pointing at. “Oh.”

I exhale with exasperation. “Look, honey, we need to work like a team. Please clean up. I need to get you to school so I can start my shift. Don’t forget I won’t make it to today’s game. I’ll be home right after, so grab a ride with Mrs. Sanders if Grandma and Pops aren’t there.”

After kissing his temple, seeing as I can no longer reach the top of his head, I rush to plate the breakfast I threw together for us. This is my life. It may not have turned out like I dreamed, but I wouldn’t trade Jeremy in for the world.

I was a young mother at twenty-one—not quite a teen pregnancy but still hard. Jeremy’s father decided rather quickly fatherhood wasn’t for him and left us the moment two lines appeared. Thankfully, my parents stepped in and helped us. I managed to finish my Bachelor of Science in nursing with their assistance. I can’t count the number of times I showed up to class with spit-up on me. I’m sure if they swabbed my clothes in one of my labs, they would have found all sorts of new-mother fun.

After fourteen years of doing the parenting gig on my own, I can safely say it’s still a challenge. Dating is rare, and my parents are still around to help. I don’t ask for a lot of help now that Jeremy is older, but they still have us visit often.

Jeremy runs into the kitchen, backpack in hand, and picks up the fork on his plate. In a matter of moments, the plate is devoid of the eggs and toast I put on it. My kid looks up at me and to the stove, looking for the pan I already put in the dishwasher. “No more?”

“Grab a banana. We gotta go,” I tell him and toss my wallet into a small bag.

He grunts and carries his plate straight to the dishwasher without rinsing it. I sigh but don’t say a word. Over the years I’ve become better at picking my battles, and this isn’t one.

When we get to his school, we exchange “I love yous,” and I pat his thigh good-bye. When he leans over and hugs me, I smile. Squeezing him, I enjoy the rare treat of a teenage hug at school.

“Bye, honey.”

“Bye, Mom.”

My next stop, after watching him walk up the steps, is coffee. Thursday mornings are my designated java pick-up days. I rattle off four different orders and drive the last few blocks to work once I have them.

“Thank God!” Jenna cries and plucks her order from the carrier.

“One of those mornings?” I ask and set the rest on a table.

“One word. Puberty.” Jenna drinks a healthy gulp of joe.

I nod and lock up my things. “Gotcha. I’ll be missing yet another of Jeremy’s games if it makes you feel any better.” Jenna shoots me a meaningful look. She may not be a single mom like I am, but she misses her own share of activities. “Well, here’s hoping today is an easy one.”

Later that evening, I look at the clock and sigh. Jeremy’s game is halfway through by now, which means my guilt is high and I’m almost through with my twelve-hour shift. I hate missing so many of his games. These are moments I know I can’t get back. It hurts the worst when I see understanding in Jeremy’s eyes versus anger or frustration.

He’s a great kid. He does well in school, gives me very little attitude, and is talented in sports. I’m hoping if he keeps it up, he can earn a scholarship for college, but we have a few years left to really worry about that.

“Hey, stop that!” Jenna scolds.

“Stop what?” I ask and set down the marker I was using.

Jenna waves her hand around my face. “That. Honey, I know you hate missing his games, but he understands, so quit beating yourself up about it.”

“That’s the problem, Jenna.” I sigh. “He’s only a boy. He shouldn’t have to be this understanding about all the games I miss.”

“No, he shouldn’t, but life isn’t fair. You’ve got a great kid, girl. No matter what you think, you’re doing really well by him.”

“Natalia?” Kara, another nurse on shift, calls out.

“Yeah?”

“You’ve got a live one in room one.”

I nod and squeeze past Jenna who pats me on my back. “On my way.”

Pulling up the patient’s admittance tab on the computer, I read the notes and frown. Forty-year-old male with testicular pain. Walking down the hall toward the triage room, I sift through my knowledge of all the possible things responsible for testicular pain.

Once I learned I was having a boy, I put in extra focus into male anatomy and physiology. I was determined to keep my boy safe and healthy to my best ability. This thankfully helped me tackle those not-so-fun talks about puberty.

“Good evening—”

Any other words centered around good bedside manners blank in my brain the moment our eyes meet. Crap.

His crew-cut hairstyle highlights his strong jaw. A light smattering of hair grows along it, and my hand itches with the need to see if it will feel soft or rough along my palm. His jaw twitches, and I find a sheen of sweat on his brow. The pain reflecting in his hazel eyes pulls me back from my fog.

I clear my throat and hope I’m not blushing. “What brings you in this evening, Mr.—”

“Wilkins. Call me Wes. I don’t suppose there’s a male nurse on staff?”

My brows knit at his tone. “Sorry, there’s not,” I say. “What’s bothering you that a female nurse can’t help you with?”

“No, it’s not—” He attempts to sit up, and he grunts in pain.

I move to his side. “Lie back down,” I tell him gently.

“S-sorry. Don’t mean to be an ass.”

Concern fills me at his words and the way his eyelids lower in pain. “Talk to me. There’s no reason for you to suffer any pain. I assure you I can help even if I don’t have the same parts as you.”

“Definitely don’t have the same parts,” he mumbles. He draws in a deep breath and clears his throat. “My testicles hurt, and they’re swollen.”

“Okay, did you sustain an injury to them?” I ask reassuringly.

He looks away, and his words are too soft to hear.

I place my hand on his shoulder, and a weird sensation travels up my arm at the contact. He turns toward me, and I see he felt whatever just happened. “I can’t help you if you don’t talk to me,” I say, ignoring the strange event and removing my hand.

“I had a vasectomy yesterday.”

“Okay.” I think of common complications that could occur with the procedure. “Swelling and discomfort are common in the first forty-eight hours—”

His lips pull into a hard line. “It looks like I have three testicles.”

My eyebrow raises. “Three?”

“Yes.”

“Okay. We’ll look at it in a second. What have you done in the last twelve hours?”

His eyes dart away again, and I realize whatever he’s been doing was not what his doctor ordered. “Come on, fess up. If your testicles are this swollen, you weren’t lying down and resting like I’m sure your doctor ordered,” I say in my mom voice.

“I was at my kids’ baseball game…”

The way he says it leaves me thinking there is more. “Mhmm… sitting on the stands?”

He shakes his head. “No, coaching.”

“I see. Did anything happen, since I expect you weren’t sitting in a chair relaxing while you coached?”

“One of the boys fell. I, um, helped him up, and that’s when I stumbled in pain.”

“I don’t suppose you coach toddlers?” I ask, knowing he’s going to say no.

“No, freshmen.”

“Definitely surpasses the ten-pound weight restriction.”

His eyebrows snap together. “Look, I wasn’t going to miss the game!”

I raise my hands in the air. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any offense. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been here all day, and I missed my son’s baseball game tonight. One of many.” I whisper the latter and turn away. “I’ll go see if the doctor is available to perform your exam.”

“Wait!” he calls out when I reach the door.

I stop but don’t face him. I can’t. If I do, he’ll see the tears forming. I’m never this short with my patients. I chalk it up to my emotions after missing out on another event in Jeremy’s life.

After a moment, he apologizes and I walk out. This handsome stranger has pressed more conflicting buttons than I care to admit. Ignoring the fact that a man hasn’t managed to fluster both me and my lady bits in… well, ever, he’s a patient and therefore off limits.

I received this book from the author for an honest opinion/Review.

After falling crazy in love with Jason and enjoying Joshua, when AJ offered me book 3 I was alllll on board!!!

I gotta say the way the characters are meeting in this series is KILLING ME!!  Wes has some issues with his “business”” and nurse Natalie is there to assist the doctor. *Snickers*   The chemistry between the two characters is tangible and makes you want to see how or when they meet up again.

I will admit I WONDERED if Wes going to be who I thought he was and loved the story line.  The two are very interested in each other but must worry about how their kids will take seeing their parent date.  Natalie’s son has never seen his mom really dating.  Reece’s dad just got divorced so dating could be odd.

I loved how the boys were always to #1 in both parents’ minds.  They worried and wondered if dating would be a good idea or cause issues with the kids all the while dying to be with the other one.

The epilogue is perfect and made me super happy for where these characters have been, and we can see their future.

Hailey Sullivan.
The girl next door.
My best friend.
We met when we were three, and have been inseparable most of our lives— that is until I fell in love with her. I knew I had to bury my feelings; our friendship was more important. I was willing to love her from afar, and was doing just that until tragedy struck.
It’s funny how one moment can change everything. All the things I thought I’d never have become possibilities, and all my reasons for staying away from her seem inconsequential. Sometimes all we need is one more day; one more hour; one more moment. Just one more was all I wanted, and I’d prove that Hailey and I were more than just best friends.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

WHOOOOO!!!! What a great friend to lovers 2nd chance story!!   This book will go down as one of my favorites by this author.

Hailey and Max are best friends.  As they grow up, they see the other as MORE but both fear losing their best friend, so they never get the courage up to SEE if there is more.  As they grow up and grow a bit apart, they both travel down separate paths until Max gets Hailey’s wedding invite.

Max, of course, doesn’t make great decisions while at her wedding and fast forward to a tragedy happening in her life a few year later.  Max realized he needs to help Hailey through it all.  He needs to be her best friend even if nothing more can happen.

When Hailey starts to lean on Max, she wonders if she will ever love again.  As Max becomes her everything, she worries he doesn’t feel the same way.  Thank GOD for Micah, Max’s younger brother, who provides a lot of comedy plus guiding the two stubborn people together.

I loved so many parts in the story and how Max was respecting Hailey but when he said some of the sweet lines …….my heart melted.  These two are a great couple.  They have so much history and the fact the yare able to get over everything and start a life together was perfect reading for any romance lover.
