Review by Twinsie Tenise

This was my first ‘best friends dad’ book. I was nervous going in, because, well it was new territory for me. Let me just say, I’m glad I gave this troupe a chance.

Cameron, with his smart mouth and need to please. Luke with his dominant nature.(Ummm, yes, please!) These 2 were kind of perfect for each other. Well, except for the pesky age gap and the fact that Cameron is Luke’s sons best friend. Ehh semantics.

I found myself rooting for these 2. Defending them in my head against anyone who questioned their “relationship”.
Reckless was a very good book with interesting plot twists. I’m looking forward to getting to know the next brother in Heartless, book 2 in the series.

#partofaseries #suspense —Flock(Ravenhood Book 1) by: Kate Stewart

Can you keep a secret?

I grew up sick.⁣

Let me clarify.⁣

I grew up believing that real love stories include a martyr or demand great sacrifice to be worthy.⁣

Because of that, I believed it, because I made myself believe it, and I bred the most masochistic of romantic hearts, which resulted in my illness.⁣

When I lived this story, my own twisted fairy tale, it was unbeknownst to me at the time because I was young and naïve. I gave into temptation and fed the beating beast, which grew thirstier with every slash, every strike, every blow.⁣

Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets.⁣

Secrets that cost us everything to keep.⁣

That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.⁣

Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence due to my illness.⁣

And all were punished.

This trilogy is a gritty, modern day take on Robin Hood. It’s an unconventional love story—bad boys/antiheroes—filled with suspense, steam, major twists, a little action, and ALL OF THE FEELS.

Review by Twinsie Tenise

The Flock is the first book of 2021 that I would give more than 5 stars if I could. And it left me struggling to write a review worthy of the epic story I just read.

This book came highly recommend from a friend. I went in blind and couldn’t put it down. It consumed an entire Saturday,  I was determined to finish the book. Nothing was more important than the answers to all of the questions bouncing around in my head.

The ending left me with more questions than answers but I know that I will always remember this story. The plot is original and the characters were unforgettable. I had ALL THE FEELS while reading and cannot wait to dive into book 2, where I hopefully find the answers I seek.

#allthefeels #havethetissueshandy #onceinalifetimelove —If I’d Known by: Paige P Horne

Time is a thief they say, and if you’re not careful it’ll slip right past you, taking everything you hold dear in this world with it.

It was the summer of 1972 when I first laid eyes on him.

Cynthia Rose probably got more than she bargained for when she came to my door step asking to write about my story.

Our story.

To everyone else Travis Cole was just the bad boy, but to me he was the keeper of my heart and even as time aged us and miles kept us apart, my heart stayed his.

Forever his.

If I’d Known is a phenomenal story based on a love that you only hear about in fairy tales. It’s the kind of love that’s not only unconditional, but unbreakable. Prepare to be swept off your feet as you immerse yourself into the story of Charlotte and Travis, while also going on a journey with three women as they form an unlikely friendship, discovering that without darkness there would be no light.
The friendship in this story is fiction, but the love it holds is as real as you and I.

“Time is a thief they say, and if you’re not careful it’ll slip right past you, taking everything you hold dear in this world with it.”

With puffy eyes and an aching heart, I am kind of at a loss for words right now. Knowing this book is based on a true story has made it even harder to process.

Without giving too much of the book away, I will say this- Travis and Charlotte had an epic love- a love most people can only dream about. I feel honored to have been able to read their story. Thank you so much for sharing it with everyone.

This book was beautifully written. I love how the author made it flow so seamlessly from past to present. If I’d Known has definitely made my top 10 books of all time list!

I bought this book and this is my honest opinion

Mara had one thing on her mind to kill her foster dad and get him to stop hurting her and her little sister, she did just that but she had no idea that powerful supernatural elders were watching her. They needed an assassin and they wanted her for the job. They promised riches and a place to live which what 16 year old would turn that down when she was on the run and living in a tent under a bridge. She is learning how to handle her new found powers and life and just finding out her best friend was a shifter she just couldn’t wrap her he’d around what her life had become now.

Jewels Arthur has lived in Central Illinois her entire life, she is a small town girl at heart and is terrified of city life. She grew up on a farm with 27 barn cats, video games, movies, and books to keep her company. She is obsessed with romance and swoon. Especially the paranormal type — humans are truly overrated.

As a hopeless romantic she wants everyone around her to be in love and wants to read about love all the time. She got married at 19 (suprise suprise) and she had a beautiful baby girl 3 years later when she finished college. She graduated college with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies. Her obsession with love led her to decide that she needed to write her own swoony books, with a bit of dirty of course 😉

#wotr #attendingauthor #partofaseries Just One Night (Oh Tequila 6) by CA Harms

A guy should never, and I do mean never, hook up with his friend’s sister.

It doesn’t matter how hot she is or how many times he’s imagined her in a not-so-innocent way. Nope. Those visuals should always remain hidden deep down in a dark place.

But of course, I just had to drink until I couldn’t see straight and screw everything up. Now, I know what you’re thinking, and I swear it wasn’t my fault. It was that damn tequila.

I never expected to wake up naked only a few feet away from the woman I never should have touched. But man, reality had been so much better than any fantasy I’d ever had.

But it all went downhill fast when she opened the door to leave and came face to face with none other than her brother, who is also one of my best friends.

I’m a dead man, but Jade might actually be worth it.

And to think, all it took to change everything was…

Just One Night.

When the tequila starts flowing you never know what’s going to happen in the frat house and when president Issac gets a little too drunk he wakes up to find a blonde trying to sneak outta his room little did he know that he had just crossed the biggest cardinal rule in brotherhood history don’t sleep with a brothers sister. Jade was just wanting to have fun after being treated like shit in every relationship she’s ever been in including the one she doesn’t have with her parents, having fun is what she needed. Little did they both know the romp in the sheets would ruin both of them for other people and a baby comes into play. Will this get to be too much of a lead weight to the frat president who has done nothing but drink and have sex or will this be the exact wake up call they both needed. Wow oh wow this book was amazing and I’m so gonna miss these characters and this group of friends I didn’t want it to end but I’m so glad that we got some bonuses in the back of each character.

C.A. Harms is an avid romance and mystery reader. She’s always had a love for books, getting lost in writing and storytelling even as a young girl. She enjoys happy endings and HEA love stories.

She lives in Illinois and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She holds an addiction for Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha’s and KitKat when she should really be focusing on water and maybe a fruit or two to make herself feel less guilty, but that feeling quickly passes…thankfully.

She is easy going, fun, and although she may seem like one of the quiet ones at first, you just wait until she gets to know you better…that quietness changes, fast

Five friends that all come from different walks of life but come together at camp every summer. One rule they have made is that they don’t talk about life at home, and they always come to campfire at the end of the evening before bed. Camp brought them together and they look out for each other, but keeping how they handle things back home a secret is harder then some of them thought will their friendships stay true as camp is almost over or will it keep them apart and wishing they never went to camp in the first place. This was such a fun teen story that made you wish you went to summer camp when you were younger or made you remember the times you went if you did.

Danielle Keil grew up and spent the majority of her life in the Chicagoland area. A recent transplant, she is enjoying the Mississippi life, especially the pool in her backyard.

Danielle is happily married for over 10 years, and has two young children, a daughter and a son, who are exact replicas of her and her husband.

She also is a fur mom to their Corgi, Cozmo, who loves barking, mud, and peanut butter.

Danielle’s love language is gifts, her Ennegram is a 9w1, and she loves everything purple.

The way to her heart is through coffee, chocolate and tacos (extra guac).

Ariel is spending her first time ever celebrating Halloween with her guys finally getting to pass out candy to the kids all dressed up and she could be any more excited to do so. Her first time sharing things with Mother Earth and with the moon, with her guys it definitely was something new and also exciting. But things are a little bumpy in her relationship with them as she is getting more comfortable with them all but this hiccup makes her scared she could lose one of them if not all of them. One things for sure Ariel will never forget this Halloween.

Inside the mind of the first person to make Ariel feel uncomfortable at school but also made friends with her to protect her. Tyson has definitely had his emotions and everything all over the place from dealing with his crazy psychotic ex randomly messaging him, to trying to be there for his family. It’s a wild ride especially after he randomly buys a building which was a business his father use to take him to as a kid. Now it was all his and he might have regretted buying it on a whim but now it was his for his girl and he wasn’t sure what exactly to do  with it.
