#WOTR19 #Review – The Arts of Love: Stories of Sensual Creativity by Harley Easton

The Arts of Love: Stories of Sensual Creativity

You know what they say about those creative types…

Playful, rebellious, sensitive and passionate, nobody loves like an artist. These sixteen stories set the stage for racy encounters with bad boy rock stars, sensual actors, and artists seeking their muse. Inside this collection you’ll find:

* A drummer aching to satisfy the one woman who doesn’t recognize that he’s a rock star
* A writer unaware that his fans and former assistant find him undeniably attractive
* An eccentric college professor enticing her protégé with informal lessons on dance, drawing, and desire
* A stage manager struggling to remain professional with the show’s sexy director

Whether you’re looking for a playwright provoking her friend’s uptight cop neighbor to help with blocking, two choir men battling for the affection of the girl-next-door, or a struggling writer finding an unusual muse in the Japanese countryside, this collection will have you ready for romance.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

So I will claim right up front, I know jack all about music…LOL  so I appreciated the Musical Terms Glossary at the end of the first story!!

This book is a collection of short stories from this author.  Each story is about a different character and a different musical theme I guess you could say.

The book is a great way to sample to author to see her writing style and flow in each story.  I have previously read one other story, but this was a different vibe then that one.  Some of the stories in the collection are a whole lot steamier then the others….HELLO BRADLEY in Headphones……. where others are less heat filled but still naughty.

It’s a great book if you have a few minutes and want to read a quick story.  Its also great if you are looking for light but solid writing in each story.  I have to say Mistaken Identity was my favorite.  The story of Justin and Gina was great.  I would love to know more about them.

Harley Easton is a Renaissance woman dabbling in everything life offers. She’s worked at a major theme park, found expert witnesses for legal cases, been a guest lecturer at a well known national museum, and worked with medical students. Putting experience and insanity to good use, she’s become an author specializing in erotic, romantic, and speculative fiction.

#WOTR19 #AuthorSpotlight – Lisa Caviness

Lisa Caviness

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

My name is Lisa Caviness. I’m originally from the Midwest but I lived in the Boston area for a number of years before moving to Indiana. I have a degree in Nursing and have worked in various positions in healthcare including as a psychiatric nurse and as a research project manager for pharmaceutical and medical device clinical trials. I have three children, a busy attorney husband, and an adorable black cat that comes to stay with me on occasion.

Where is your favorite place to write and what food must be present?

I don’t have a special place to write but when working at home I often move from my desk to various locations around the house. I also write in the car, usually when we’re going to visit my parents in Ohio (and my husband is driving of course!) or while waiting for one of kids at soccer practice, piano, or one of the other many activities they are involved in. I usually don’t eat and write but I will often have tea or coffee.

What are you favorite things about attending signings?

My favorite things about attending signings are talking to readers as enthusiastic as I am about books. I also enjoy meeting authors and collecting new books of my own to read.

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

That’s a hard question because I have several favorites who I believe are great authors. If I had to settle on one I’d choose Nora Roberts because her books started my love of the romantic suspense genre.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

My favorite memory was the thrill and emotion of publishing my first book. The first time I saw my words in print was a special moment I thought I’d never have. It was a lot of hard work and a moment I’ll never forget.

#WOTR19 #AuthorSpotlights – Lynda J. Cox

Lynda J. Cox

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

I’m Lynda J Cox, and I write under my own name. I love history, love the American West (there is something good for the soul in those wide open spaces, huge expanses of bright blue skies, and towering, snow-capped mountains), and grew up on a steady diet of Western movies and syndicated Western TV shows. Writing about the cowboy seems only natural, considering all of that.

Where is your favorite place to write and what food must be present?

My office–it’s really the only place I can be productive. Food all depends on my mood, though most of the time it’s either pretzels or Good N Plenty. Yeah, I know, that’s a weird pairing.

What are you favorite things about attending signings?

The best part of any signing I’ve attended is getting to meet readers–even if they don’t read western historical romance. We still find things to chat about, books we like, and if I can convince them to give a hot, smexy, historical cowboy a chance, all the better. And if not–hey, I’ve still made a friend. I count that as a win on any day.

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

I would love to meet LaVyrle Spencer.

What author would you love to write with?

I would love to co-author a romance with Cindy Nord. She’s simply an amazing historical romance author and one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve had the honor to meet and call my friend.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

I have so many–readers who told me how much they loved my books, signing my first contract with the Wild Rose Press–but my most treasured moment as an author has to be the e-mail from a reader who said that after reading *West of Forgotten*, she was able to summon up the courage to start therapy to begin recovering from a sexual assault that happened decades before. That e-mail moved me to tears.

#WOTR19 #CoverReveal – Twisted by Aleatha Romig

The underworld of Chicago is far from forgiving. It’s a world where knowledge means power, power money, and money everything.

While I paid the ultimate price to have it all, it wasn’t my decision to give up my life.

That doesn’t mean I ceased to exist, only to live.

Going where the job takes me and living in the shadows, with deadly accuracy I utilize the skills inherent to me, not knowing from where they came, not recalling what I’d lost.

And then I saw her.

Laurel Carlson.

I shouldn’t want her, desire her, or need her, yet with each sighting I know she is exactly what I have to have. Laurel has the ability to do what I thought was impossible. She sees what others don’t.

My gut tells me that it’s a deadly mistake to change my plans and open my world to her. My mind says she’ll be repulsed by my twisted existence.

None of that matters, because my body won’t take no for an answer.

I’ve made dangerous mistakes before.

This time, will the price be too high?

#WOTR19 #NewRelease #Paranormal – The Dragon of New Orleans (The Treasure of Paragon Book 1) by Genevieve Jack

The Dragon of New Orleans (The Treasure of Paragon Book 1)

New Orleans: city of intrigue, supernatural secrets, voodoo, and one enigmatic dragon…

For 300 years, Gabriel Blakemore has survived hidden among humans after a coup in his native realm of Paragon scattered him and his siblings across the globe. Keeping his secret has preserved his dragon magic but led to a life devoid of true intimacy. Now a voodoo curse threatens to end his immortal existence. His only hope is to find an antidote, one that may rest in a mortal woman.

Death is a welcome end for Raven Tanglewood. After five years of unsuccessful treatment for her brain cancer, her illness has become a prison, something her adventurous spirit cannot abide.

When Gabriel heals Raven and binds her to him, he awakens a connection stronger than any he’s ever known. But she sees the bond as another kind of captivity. Can Gabriel win her love and trust in time to awaken the life-saving magic within her? Or will his fiery personality and possessive ways drive her from his side and seal his fate?

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

When I saw this book, I was curious for a couple of reasons.  The first is I wanted to read a book from this author and jumping into series that are already out plus a few deep is hard to do.  The other reason is HELLO SHIFTERS…..HELLO DRAGON SHIFTERS.  To be honest, I have only read one other series about dragons.  I loved the direction/spin she took with her series because it was very different from what I expected.

I will say the world building was slow and a time or two I was a little confused BUT stick with the story because after a while I couldn’t put the book down.  I was dying to know about Raven and her dragon Gabriel.  My favorite scene is when Gabriel admits how crazy he is for Raven…..this woman brought a powerful dragon to his knees…..sigh……..

The angst between the characters builds and it BURNS people…sooo burns!!!  I was so ready, much like Raven, for when they did some “How you doing “ time *Wink wink*  Their love story was very sweet and I enjoyed watching them fall for each other while also trying to protect the other.

The curse and the family fall out Gabriel has to over come was crazy intense.  Poor guy has a crazy woman and crazy uncle after him!!  I mean he can’t live anywhere without having threats to his life!

I am so looking forward to the next book and hanging with Gabriel and Raven again.  I am sure Gabriel will be just as possessive over Raven with his brother which is hilarious BUT also trying to find their siblings will be good reads.   I wonder how the family will react to the everything Gabriel has to warn them about in regards to their family!!

USA Today bestselling author Genevieve Jack writes weird, witty, and wicked-hot paranormal romance and fantasy. Coffee and wine are her biofuel, the love lives of witches, shifters, and vampires her favorite topic of conversation. She harbors a passion for old cemeteries and ghost tours, thanks to her years attending a high school rumored to be adores the beaches of the southeast, where she spends her days with her laptop and one lazy dog.
