#Review – Steamy Kisses (Matchmaker 2: A Reverse Harem Romance) by Jade C. Jamison

Steamy Kisses: A Reverse Harem Romance (Matchmaker Book 2)

One man down. Four to go.

Claire might have thought that having one less man to deal with in the reality show Matchmaker would have made her life easier, but she was wrong. As they all get to know each other better, Claire discovers that being compatible with each man doesn’t make him an ideal mate. And, as they make their way through another week of dates, Claire finds that one of them doesn’t even want to be there…

So this one starts with the elimination and we get a whole new set of dates. I wonder how having one of the guys leaving would change the dynamics between the guys and even with Claire. This one started out with my heart in my throat. I’m telling you it is intense. Then the games begin now last time it was a physical challenge this time it was a mental challenge.

We get to see more of the guys personalities but at the same time we only see what Claire sees. I think there are things the guys are hiding from Claire. These guys I’m telling you they bend the rules and sometimes take it too far to get what they want. The dates that stand out the most to me were Darius and Grayson’s dates not because of where the guys took Claire but because they took time to talk and get to know more about Claire. There were some great dates and then there were some just OK dates.

Some rules were changed and some rules were bent a bit we got to see how each guy reached to things that occurred on their dates. Some handle things better than others. I’m seeing the ones that are all about Claire and who are all about themselves. I am cheering for Grayson and Darius to go to final two. These two always stand out to me and I really want to get to more about them. Now we have to wait to see who is the next one to go and what will be in store for Claire next.

“Nobody puts Baby in a corner.” While you’re more likely to see Jade headbanging than Dirty Dancing, she–like Baby–won’t be put in a corner…or a box. So even though you can’t really stick her books in one genre, you could say she mostly writes steamy Contemporary Romance–and, while you’re at it, you’ll notice in her stories that Jade freaking loves Colorado, hard music, coffee, bad words, and CHOCOLATE!!! And so do her characters.

Oh, and there’s always a glimmer of hope…because if life doesn’t have that, what’s the damn point?

#Review – Looking For Love A reverse Harem Romance (Matchmaker #1) by Jade C. Jamison

Looking for Love: A Reverse Harem Romance (Matchmaker Book 1) by [Jamison, Jade C.]

One woman. Four weeks. Five men.
Just one chance.

After years of putting love on the back burner and struggling to break into Hollywood as an actress, Claire jumps on an opportunity to do both—by accepting the chance to be the pursued woman in a reality television show called Matchmaker.

Choosing among five men hand-picked specifically for her should be easy, but by the time she discovers that not all of the men are ideal, it’s too late. And when Claire attempts to salvage the situation, she’s met with the harsh reality that she doesn’t have a choice after all…

Ok so I have to admit I’m not in to the whole reality TV thing. My husband on the other hand is and I usually read when his shows are on. I will say Jade hooked me on this one. We are tossed in with the first challenge then one on one dates. The sexual tension is very high in this one.

Claire wants to find love and thinks she will be able to find it in one of these five men.  Get to know each one figure out who is not a match with you and narrow it down to one guy. Easy peasy right…uh not really.

We get to meet the guys on her one on one lunch dates.  These guys personalities are all so different but the show states they are all compatible mates for Claire.  All the guys have to abide by certain rules but as we all know rules are meant to be bent and sometime broken.

The guys personalities really come out on their one on one dates. I have to say I have already stereotyped them.  I know who I love, who I dislike, and yes even what order I want to see them go off.  But wait there is a twist at the end….SAY WHAT!!…yeap we find out who gets to decide which guys goes home and which ones stay.  Let’s just say I was sitting here saying NO WAY.  I am so ready for book 2 I need to know who will be the first one booted off the show.  I know who I want it to be but my gut tells me it will be someone else.

#WOTR #Review – Ronan (The Protectors #12)- by Teresa Gabelman

Ronan (The Protectors #12)

Most think that newest VC Warrior, Ronan McDonald, is just a laid back cowboy. What they don’t see is the inner turmoil that only his small ranch and horses can tame. At least that was the way it had been until a witch with a beauty none could deny walked into his life.

Running has been Kira Grail’s life for as long as she can remember. It isn’t until she meets a VC Warrior that she realizes she is growing weary, but the forces chasing her will never bend.

Ronan doesn’t believe in witches or curses. What he does believe is that only he can keep Kira safe. Together they fight to bring the once powerful warlock, Orjyll, to his knees releasing the women of the Dragonfly Coven. During their perilous journey Kira vows to keep her distance, but the vampire cowboy has other plans.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I think I may have just put another warrior at the top of my list next to Jax and Blaze. Really I’m a southern girl so when I hear cowboy hat, boots and horses well let’s just say I have been waiting for Ronan.  Plus I am a sucker for the quite mysterious guys.

Ronan is protective, patient and loyal. You see this in him throughout this book when he deals with the warriors, the trainees, his horses but mostly with Mira.  I have to say what Ronan does for Steve and Mira is a testament to his big heart. Ronan realizes Kira is his mate and he is determined to keep her safe no matter what. Can Ronan tame her need to run and keep everyone out of harms way? Kira is not one to sit around she is use to running and not getting anyone involved.  Especially now that she knows what powers she holds.

I enjoyed getting to know Ronan and Kira more. I also enjoyed seeing everyone else also. Well I could have done without Jared’s pouting. Let me tell you that was a whole new side to him and it did not look good on him. Steve well he is Steve and to see him with Mira was absolutely heartwarming. Let me tell you the warrior’s women are amazing they are strong and not ones to sit on the sidelines.  Man did they really jump into things in this book.  The twist ugh I never saw that coming and I so wanted to hurt someone and you will know exactly who when you read it.  With the twist it brings in some new players and I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next.

A few of my favorites:

“What are you grinning at?”
“Just wondering when I’m going to see a girl fight.” Steve’s grin grew. “Do you guys use magic or just throw down.”

“I think I’m going to have to see a doctor.” Steve’s voice was high pitched, making all the men laugh harder.
“Slade!”
Every one glanced toward Slade, who shook his head with a big grin. “The day I have to look at your nuts is the day I rip up my doctor’s degree. Ice that shit, and that’s all I have to say.”

#WOTR – #Review Greyson by JM Walker

Title: Greyson

Author: JM Walker

Model: Ryan Stacks

Photographer: Michael Anthony Downs

Cover Designer: Just Write Creations

Genre: MC Romance

Release Date: July 19

Confusion. Lust. Fear. Passion.
It started the moment she passed out in my arms.
Seduction. Vile. Depraved. Desire.
She couldn’t remember her past but looked to me like I was her future.
My walls were built. My heart was cold. My emotions vacant.
After being alone for five years with only my motorcycle club at my side, she was who I had been searching for. The one I had needed all along to light up the darkness surrounding my life. Just when I thought I had her, just when I thought I could finally allow myself that happiness I didn’t think I deserved. She was ripped from my hands…

Goodreads

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Greyson, Greyson, Greyson…this man intrigued me from the first moment we saw him and not in a great way.  Yes I was a little… ok a lot aggravated at him. You see he wanted Brogan and well she wants and NEEDS Coby. Therefore, there is no room for Greyson.

Eve has no idea who she is or why she is running but all she knows is whatever she is running from is bad. She finds herself running right into Greyson.  She feels protected and safe when he is around. I like Eve she may not know who she is or how she got where she is but she is determined to make it even if she never finds the truth.

Greyson has a heart of ice. You see he was in love with a girl who was never his and could not have in the end. When Eve came through the compound that night his heart began to thaw for this woman.

JM has a way of taking a guy you think you will not like and turn him into someone you love.  Is he an asshole? Oh yes but in the best way. Is he demanding and controlling? Yes he is but ask Eve it is the best kind of demanding and controlling. JM has the best twists and turns that I didn’t even see them until they smacked me in the face. Watching these two open up and trust one another was amazing but when Eve’s past catches up to Greyson and Eve can they overcome and survive all that is coming their way?

A few of my favorite quotes

“I’m here to make sure you don’t hurt yourself. I don’t need that shit on my hands.” It wasn’t the truth, but she didn’t need to know that. I was there because I wanted to be. I was there because not even knowing me for twenty-four hours and she was already chipping away at the ice blocking my heart.

I know I’m difficult to get along with. I know I’m an asshole, but I love hard and I won’t hurt you.

#WOTR18 #NewRelease #Review – Pieces of Forever by H. D’Agostino

40223998

Does having everything you desire make your life perfect? Does having a perfect life mean you’re happy?

I had a perfect life once upon a time. It was the life I deemed myself deserving of. I had a wife, a child, a successful business. I was happy, but I was also blind.

I didn’t see my faults until it was too late. One moment changed it all. It changed me and cost me everything. Everything I thought I needed to find happiness disappeared, and nothing else mattered.

All that I need is to get a few of the pieces back. Pieces of my perfect forever are the only thing that can make me whole again.

I received this book from the authors for an honest review.

This is the story of two broken people who are trying to find their way through life.  Jackson is lost without his wife and daughter.  When life takes them from him, he has had several years of misery until Tessa walks in his bar.

Tessa has a life of questions.  She is looking for answers to her life when she lands a job at the bar Jackson owns.  She is drawn to him like a moth to a flame but knows he doesn’t see her this way.  She has her trusty friend Jules there to help push her out of her box and into Jackson’s bed.  Tessa’s fun loving spirit was fun to read, and I loved how she made Jackson get all super alpha. He made my heart squishy.

When Jackson gets drunk and peruses Tessa, they are both in for a up and down roller coaster of a love story.  One that neither expected. Tessa has to confront her past while Jackson is licking his wounds about his wife and daughter.  The two must confront the demons that haunt them all while trying to stay true to the person they have fallen head over heels in love with.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

How does one deal with having their world taken from them within minutes or overnight? Jackson and Tessa are both dealing with this in different ways.

Jackson owns a bar in town and has been trying to deal with losing his wife and daughter in an accident years ago. He is trying to move on and submerge himself in work. Until the day Tessa walks in the bar looking for a job.

Tessa cannot remember anything of her past.  She is trying to figure out who she is. When she starts working for Jackson she is drawn to him but there is no way she can cross the line with her boss. Even if she did want to pursue him she knows he is not interested in her.

Jackson and Tessa are both overcoming issues and find they can help one another move on. Their stories hurt my heart and then gave me the feel goods.  My favorite scenes were the sandcastle scenes they tugged at my heart. I did enjoy watching these two getting to know each other and falling in love. Sometime life does not go the way you plan it but in the end life takes you were you need to be.

#AudioReview – The Brightest Sunset (The Darkest Sunrise Duet Book 2) by Aly Martinez

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Bullshit.
Words destroyed me.
“I’m sorry. She didn’t make it.”
“Daddy, he can’t breathe!”
“There’s nothing more we can do for your son.”
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Lies.
Those syllables and letters became my executioner. I told myself that, if I didn’t acknowledge the pain and the fear, they would have no power over me. But, as the years passed, the hate and the anger left behind began to control me.
Two words—that was all it took to plunge my life into darkness.
“He’s gone.”
In the end, it was four soft, silky words that gave me hope of another sunrise.
“Hi. I’m Charlotte Mills.”

Goodreads

This was a good duet. I was hanging on at the end of The Darkest Sunrise thinking how is this all gonna play out. How are Porter and Charlotte going to survive all that was thrown at them?

Charlotte lost her son 10 years ago when someone stole him from his stroller in plain daylight. Porter lost his wife and nearly lost his son in an accident. Both were fighting the dark but were able to find some light with each other. But can their love endure what is planned for them next.  What happens when one son is found and one son is taken away? Will they be able to find the light again?

Charlotte and Porter will have to learn how to live in their new life all while trying to deal with family. We see the struggles of both families and how the kids deal with what is going on in their lives. My heart hurt so much for everyone as things unfolded…ok maybe not everyone some could have not been such an ass.

I enjoyed this family not just Charlotte and Porter but the secondary characters also. There were times in this book I just didn’t see how Porter would be able to see the light again as he slipped back in to the darkness. I have to say Porter stole my heart with his distraction games…where are we going to be in 6 minutes, 6 hours, 6 days, 6 weeks, 6 months.

Once again both the narrators were great. I could feel each emotion the characters were going through. It was difficult to put this one down.

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her husband and four young children.

Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person.

She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience.
“You’re pregnant.”
“It’s a boy.”
“Your son needs a heart transplant.”
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Lies.
Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun.
Two words—that was all it took to extinguish the sun from my sky.
“He’s gone.”
For ten years, the darkness consumed me.
In the end, it was four deep, gravelly words that gave me hope of another sunrise.
“Hi. I’m Porter Reese.”

Goodreads

Amazon

This gutted me I was reading my worst nightmare. No one wants to have their children taken from them. Watching all that Charlotte when through was heartbreaking. Really what does one do when your whole world is snatched from you?

Charlotte was helping a child at the park when she left her son unattended and someone took him from his stroller. Filled with regret Charlotte was in a dark place where every child she saw she thought could that be my Lucas? Charlotte became the best pulmonologists but she refused to treat children.

Porter Reese lived his own type of hell. He fell in love not only with his wife but her son, Travis, which he adopted. After a tragic accident Porter was left to raise his children. He only wanted the best for his son when finding out he needed a heart transplant. Porter found Charlotte and he knew he had to get her to see Travis some way somehow. Only thing was she would not treat children. With some help Porter was able to meet Charlotte but after meeting her he saw darkness filled her the way it did him. He realized the more he was around her the more light he saw.

But what happens when a few words changes your life? Can what Porter and Charlotte worked so hard withstand what was going to happen to all of them.

This book had me so torn up. I love Porter from his confessions in the dark to helping Charlotte turn on the lights. He seemed to have a way of pulling Charlotte back from the dark. I was not expecting the ending and as soon as the last words were read I had to download The Brightest Sunset. I have to know what is going to happen to this relationship and all involved.

Then narrators in the book were great. They brought the book alive and I had a hard time pushing pause.

Enrapture by Rachel Van Dyken

Trace is everything.
My freaking world.
And I would do anything to keep her safe.
But, I can’t protect her from every kind of evil..and I can no longer keep the past a secret…
We were left folders.
Each one filled with the sins of our pasts.
And Traces grandfather just asked us to read his.
There was no preparation.
And now I’m wondering if I should have let the love of my life read it at all, because some things can’t be unsaid, some words stay with us forever.
I know, from this day forward, nothing will ever be the same.

Goodreads

Amazon

I so enjoyed this story because we get the back story on Joyce, Luca and Frank. I also enjoyed seeing all the family again.

What happens when Trace gets a hold of THE black folder? Nixon gets a tad wound up ok maybe more than a tad and well the others are bringing in chips and dip for the show. I was a bit upset at how Frank just left things out and ran leaving Trace to deal with what she was learning about without him around. I did like hearing Frank and Joyce’s story. The love that Joyce had for both Luca and Frank was amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. I can now understand how someone can hold your heart and another consume your sole.

These diary entries had me in tears. Oh land what Frank does for Joyce and his brother. Truly shows the love he had for Joyce. Luca seemed to be a cold and heartless man but now I see why. Man Luca can love and he does it with his whole being. This just shows his heart was not cold as stone there is warmth in there.

This was a great addition to the Eagle Elite series it filled in some gaps and answered questions. Those letters really got me I had tears at times. I cannot wait for more of this series I’m telling you I cannot get enough of these families.

#AudioReview – Elude (Eagle Elite #6) by Rachel Van Dyken

25712676

This book is the sixth book in the internationally bestselling Eagle Elite Series. It’s an interconnected stand alone novel with no cliffhanger.

Twenty-Four hours before we were to be married–I offered to shoot her.
Ten hours before our wedding–I made a mockery of her dying wish.
Five hours before we were going to say our vows–I promised I’d never love her.
One hour before I said I do–I vowed I’d never shed a tear over her death.
But the minute we were pronounced man and wife–I knew.

I’d only use my gun to protect her.
I’d give my life for hers.
I’d cry.
And I would, most definitely, lose myself, to a dying girl—a girl who by all accounts should have never been mine in the first place.

I always believed the mafia would be my end game–poisoning my heart, while it claimed my soul. I could have never imagined. It would be my redemption.

Or the beginning of something beautiful.

The beginning of her.

The end of us.

This is the 6th book in the Eagle Elite series and it is all about Sergio and Andi.  First of all if you are going to read this made sure you have some tissues ready because yeah I did the UGLY cry. Seriously there was blubbering snot sobbing sleeve wiping snot was happening here. There were happy tears and some tears shed in laughter too. I had to wait a bit before I wrote this review to let it all really sink in. Ember was my favorite of the series but Elude is right up there with Ember.

I love Andi she is so full of life and has a great since of humor for all she is going through. She is one tough cookie and loved that she could land Sergio on his ass. Oh and holds her own with the guys too. Andi and Sergio’s banter to the end is hilarious and heartwarming.  I so loved her ‘Italy’ and his ‘Russia’. Andi was cracking me up with the pot and bat…awesome going Andi.

Sergio the mysterious he doesn’t let anyone in or truly see him. He never saw Andi coming nor did he expect her to be the one to make him feel something, feel alive. Sergio stole my heart with Andi’s 2 to 3 twirl dresses and with Andi’s Honeymoon list…I was swooning and there were tears.

I’m telling you this gutted me. This is a story of family, love, best friends, life and death. Absolutely love this love story and even though I thought I was prepared for the ending NOPE not at all. Andi’s letter to Sergio seriously I have no words she is amazing I could see her love for him and even her funny side coming out in it.

Raising my glass of Vodka…Cheers to Andi and Sergio’s love until their end and longer.

“I love you, Italy,”
“I love you, Russia.”
“For as long as we both live…”
