Hilarious quick read! If you need a pick me up then this is the book for you. Wicked has decided to move her relationship along with Thorne but overreacts when she sees something without an explanation. Her and Thorne are on the fritz but Bruce is there to back Wicked up. Bruce has got to be one of my favorite characters ever! LOL! Once things get calmed down as neither Wicked nor Thorne are ready to give up on each other they are faced with another bit of excitement! We get more background on Wicked and Thorne both and a wonderful ending to start another installment! Bring it on! Can’t wait!

Taz and Leda! One of my favorite couples! This story is full of suspense, drama and intense passion (sexual and non-sexual). This one hits home with me a bit as I see a lot of myself in Leda. She wants to do what is right, she believes it is her fight alone, and doesn’t ask anyone for help. She has become a strong woman and has decided it is time to avenge her family and help her family’s pack. The pack that is rightfully hers. As she goes out on this quest of hers she runs into a couple of familiar faces from her past. In the meantime while she is trying to get a plan together to go after her uncle, Taz has sought out Steve from the VC Warriors to help him find Leda. The dynamic between Taz and Steve is snarky and witty. These two are freaking hilarious! As the story unfolds we find out so much about Leda’s past and what has been recently going on with her family’s pack. We find out the truth about just how terrible and evil her uncle really is. She also finds out that blood doesn’t always mean family. She has Taz and Steve at her back as well as the Lee County Wolves and VC Warriors. I am so incredibly happy that Taz and Leda can address the chemistry between themselves. But Taz has to look out because when everyone else catches wind of him and Leda the guys all come forward to give him a hard time. And the dynamic between Taz and Sam is super heartwarming. By the end of the book Leda really understands what it is to have and be part of a true family. There are so many ups and downs in the story that you can’t help but keep turning the pages. I am looking forward to more of the Lee County Wolves!!

I’ve been MARKED! The sheer intensity of the emotions that come from this entire series is incredible, but Marked is where it all combusts! I assume if you are reading this review you have read the rest of the series….and if you have not….well read them! Maya is in the hospital after the incident with Janice. Talan is a mess because of the Maya getting hurt and feels that it is all his fault. Both of them are hard headed and stubborn enough to make you want to smack em around and hug them at the same time. The feelings these two have for each other are extremely intense. A true and pure love. And the extended “family” of characters all play their part. Maya’s light has burned out. She has been reduced by what Janice has done. Maya and Talan are second guessing each other and words fly. Emotions are heightened and fireworks explode. They work through this together and with the fam. But then are blindsided when Luke (Janice’s doctor) shows up at their doorstep to discuss Janice’s situation with them. This is when we really see the doc’s true colors and possible feelings for his patient. This also puts Talan and Maya to the test as both of them realize that Janice has “issues”  but both also feel that she knew what she was doing. The spoiler that I will give is that Luke does ask Maya to attend a therapy session with Janice to talk about the incident. ***this is the only spoiler!*** And this brings a lot of the heavy to Maya’s and Talan’s relationship over the whether or not Maya decides to go or not. With that being said….you must read this to find out!

**This is a Reverse Harem Dark Romance that is recommended for ages 18+. There are elements of violence, such as torture and a body count, and steamy scenes that are sure to light you on fire. If you’re into that sort of thing, then boy do we have the book for you!

First, the cover of this book is amazing! Second, the premise of the story is incredible! Third, I can’t wait for the sequel!

This is what the Arbiter is supposed to be. Nocturna is a half breed. Half Divine and half Damned. There are very few halfies in the world and the Creator chooses one to be the Arbiter. The Arbiter is judge and jury over the Damned and Divine. Nocturna believes in a place that both beings can be themselves as long as nobody breaks the rules. She has created a sort of sanctuary for both within her club, The Apothecary. One eventful night and her world is rocked when she becomes the Arbiter. She finds that a past love and heartbreak, Enoch, is part of the Infernal who are the leaders of the Damned. She falls for Monroe, another leader of the Infernal. And has an incredible bond with Larkan, a Rite with the Divine. As they find out that Damned have been abducted and tortured they all find that they are part of the bigger picture and need to save these souls and stop the torturing. At the same time we are finding that not everyone on their team are loyal and their are traitors in the midst. Monroe ends up being captured, one of her dearest friends are abducted and her friend’s husband has been killed. Nocturna has to turn herself over to the bad guys in order to try and save the ones she love. And all the men in her life are going to be needed to keep her balanced between the Divine and the Damned.

 

This is a dark paranormal reverse harem story that is very intriguing. There is a lot going on within the big picture. It is dark and mysterious and is intense on the emotions evoked. It seemed to me like there was a lot of world building going on but some things were missed or rushed. Some of the characters were a little underdeveloped in my opinion. There was always just something out of reach. Overall though, I really enjoyed the story. There is a cliffhanger and I am anxiously awaiting the sequel to see how the story develops. It’s a wicked start to what I am sure will be an intense series!

Tray…..where have you been all my life?!?! And Zillah…..My new girl crush!!!!

These two! OMG! They should not be together but when you see something you can’t have it heightens the need that much more. I can’t say that they have a love at first sight type of relationship but more of an insta-attraction/lust that turns to an intense love type of relationship. He is a nomad that hangs with Hell’s Harlem. Tray is a loner and just doesn’t really belong anywhere. He happens upon Zillah when he goes to a shop ran by the president of a rival motorcycle club. Here him and Zillah run into each other and instantly need to be closer. This turns into quite the ordeal as they have to hide their blooming relationship. At the same time Tray is trying to salvage a relationship with his best friend Catch as he used Catch in a way that he can’t really take back. As Tray and Zillah’s relationship intensifies they find out that they have been being watched. Once this realization comes out, the sh*t hits the fan! The twist in this book had my jaw dropped open and gasping trying to get a grip on what was happening! No spoilers here but let me tell you that you won’t believe it until you read it!

 

“I hadn’t known Zillah for twenty-four hours and I couldn’t stop thinking about her. She was young, full of life, and everything I needed in my darkest hours. It didn’t make sense when I never believed in this instant attraction sh*t but there was something about her that I latched on to. And I knew she felt it just the same.”

Literally and figuratively. She is at a spring break type of place and she is kidnapped and taken to the other side of the planet that no one goes to just for fun. Rune has been brought back to life after 1000 years of being gone to find that his home has been run into the ground. He has yet to figure out exactly why he has been brought back and is struggling a lot with getting the monarchy back under control, dealing with murders in the palace, falling for Kaz and the fact that he is hiding exactly who he is to her. With all of this going on, Kaz is being herself, everyone loves her, and she is falling in love with Rune. The two of them have a lot of inner conflict within themselves and are so different from the other. But opposites attract and the two of the complement each other so well. The only thing is that they both have to be honest with each other and once the honesty is let out will they be able to be together? There is a ton of craziness happening at the palace when Rune hosts a ball of sorts. There is a death and kidnapping. Kaz finds herself in the middle of another mess and when the bad guy is figured out…..well lets just say oh holy hell because I so didn’t see this coming. I knew there was something fishy going on but when the twist unravels, it’s epic!!!! Blood King pulls you into the story and is the type of story that will constantly have you trying to guess what the hell is going on. And when the bread crumbs finally fell into place I was speechless! The sexy king will have you rooting for him and seeing how Kaz’s wittiness and no nonsense attitude brings him out of his shell will make you fall in love with this story. Well done, Ava Cuvay! Bravo!!!!

I feel a little more evil with every book that I read of R.K.’s! This series has me hooked! In this author’s true fashion The New Death continues with bad language, crazy friendships, witty banter and the perfect amount of horror and gore! I can’t tell you enough how good this book is and is probably my favorite of this series so far.

We start this story three years after Shepard lost Andrea. Shepard is in a drunken stupor and has missed everything that Matthew and Horace have done with bringing the new souls into Purgatory. Since Matthew can now bring all of the souls in to one location and Horace tries to explain the rules to everyone to avoid them being taken and killed by The Other Things, Burnington has become over-populated and is in a crazy state of disrepair. In the midst of one of the groups coming in, Niki is amongst them. She and a new friend escape the madness and make it out into Burnington, Purgatory just trying to survive. They are chased by some thugs and run into the subway system to escape them but what the didn’t know was that there are much worse things in the subway. Niki is able to escape and happens upon Shepard and he brings her back to the Open. At once Horace is taken by Niki. As the group become four again they make a plan to try and save her friend. Shepard is being haunted by Andrea and in one of his hauntings he is visited by another being that gives him the key to survival and bring balance back to Purgatory. This rescue mission almost turns into a suicide mission due to new developments. Old friends resurface and more questions are brought forth. This book is one helluva wild ride just like the ones before. And the twists that are brought in will have you smiling and saying WTF! I love this author’s style and can’t wait to continue the series! The story is gripping and definitely not for the faint of heart!

This was a lovely second chance story. I wanted to smack Jane upside her head and say “Get with the program!”  Luckily she has some awesome friends in her corner.

Let me just say where this story started was NOT where I thought it was going to end. I love when you think you.  Know what’s going to happen and the author totally flips the script on you.

I always love little sister/brother’s bff romances, they are so much fun!! The danger of what will happen when the brother finds out, how long can feelings be fought???!!!! Sometimes hot messes are the best kind of messes and being uptight is nearly as bad as you think.

What’s a woman to do when her boyfriend leaves her because she hasn’t given up her V-card yet?  Why hire someone to take it and be drunk when said person arrives!!! Lol

Emerie is helping is friend Lily at a HR retreat and the man she invited into her hotel room to get her card punch, that she thought she hired, she finds out is her bestie’s boss and not  a hired professional.

Sebastian is taken with Emerie and has been since he saw a picture of her in Lily’s office.  This was such a funny a cute little story.  Emerie and Sebastian, after all the funny and v-card nonsense are very much two people who belong together.

Seducing Sophia by Jenna Jacob

Ok, this was one story I was sooooo looking forward to just because Jacob is one of my favorite Authors and has one of my alt time favorite series so reading her was like welcoming a old friend.

In this novella Jacob introduces to a whole new group of characters by way of a pit stop at my favorite place Club Genesis.

Licks of Leather is a chart topping rock group and Sophia is their assistant on this tour.  Burk Jennings is the lead singer of the man and a total man whore. Sophia knows if he ever turned his powers of Seduction on her she would have a heck of a time turning him down, but she’s not a blonde or skinny so she’s not his type.

Man oh man!!!!!!! New friends, old friends, people trying to keep their true desires hidden Jacob brings it all in this little novella. Oh, OH, OH, and she’s introduced us to her new series!!!!!!  It’s a tasty little amuse bouche and I can’t wait for a full meal of these rockers.

Just a Little Mischief by Isabella LaPearl

Brian is a hard man, a professional soldier that has returned to a home that never really cared about him because he was the second son. He’s a man so hard he doesn’t do softness or relationships that he doesn’t pay for.  

Georgia is the oldest of triplets, she’s the responsible one, the less adventurous of the three.

I really hope that we get more of Georgia and Brian down the road!!  Talk about your cliff hangers, man meets girl in a bar, girl gives him someone else’s name, she sneaks out on him after a night of hotness including giving up her V-card, then sneaks out on him while he’’s asleep!!!!

This was awesome!!!!

Picked Up by Mickey Miller

Dagny is having a rough week( it’s only Tuesday) and decides she need a drink so she heads to a bar since she doesn’t have to race home to her daughter.

While she’s there she meets Sam, a handsome man in a suit that looks like he’d be trouble.  They start talking and telling each other about their ex’s.

Everyone needs a little human kindness and if that kindness comes in a hot suited up package even better.  They decide to spend one night together since he will be going back home tomorrow and she has to get back to her daughter.  

Another tricky ending story!!! I loved it!! I definitely will be picking more up from this author.

The Secret Note by Lauren Rowe

Let’s face it crossing a Hemsworth off my to be done list is never gonna happen  however, I can live vicariously through our next heroine Kaylee.

Kaylee is out camping with her college age brother and his school friends, one who is a student from Australia, giving him a secret note she invites Ben into her tent for the night.

Kaylee is the Alpha in this story, not only is she secretly inviting a dude into her tent; he’s Australian, younger that her, and a virgin!!!  

Poor boy gets his mind BLOWN!!!!

7 Yrs later Kaylee gets her mind blown when Ben calls her up and wants to see her!!!

OMG!! This story could totally be a movie and if Chris Hemsworth was in it I’d pay to go see it!!

Summer works for Belle Magazine and is “normal” in every since of the word.  When Ethan meets Summer on a photo shoot he knows he’s found the girl to get his family off his back for a while.

Why is it that men who think they can use a girl to trick his family never realize that it always backfires on them and they end up falling for said girl.  Men really can be silly when it comes to matters of the heart.

Liam is the bearded brooding man of every girl’s dream and when he wake up to find himself in a cabin with not one, but two visions of loveliness he can’t believe he’s not dreaming.

Talk about your hot stories, this one might very well be the hottest of the Anthology.  I mean you can’t help but be hot with a threesome!! Think I found another new author, lol!!!

Oh holy hell! This is all about Janice, this girl…..smh. In the first two books we get glimpses of our girl but she has had a sordid past and some other issues to go right along with it. She is the girl we all love to hate….but dayum, I feel so bad for her. So, we all know she is hung up on Talan and currently hates Maya because she stole Talan from her. But the leaps and bounds she goes through to tear these two apart is incredible. And she has a support system that wants to help her be better.

 

I dressed like a whore.

Acted like a b*tch.

Innocent could never be used to describe me.

 

We get to dive into Janice’s world and how she rationalizes what she does and did! She has scars but does an incredible job at hiding them….until…..Maya. It’s definitely an interesting glimpse into her life and give us so much more to go on than just the crazy girl who thinks she loves Talan. There is SOOOOOOO MUCH MORE! I feel more complete with the series at this point knowing just where Janice is coming from and how she justifies her behavior. It’s INTENSE!!!!

 

Losing him to her wouldn’t be the end of my world, just the intermission into my next chapter.

 

I can’t wait to get started with Marked to get my fix! I’m addicted!!!! Bravo Elena M. Reyes, you rocked my world!

Vampires! Yes! It’s so hard to take a vampire story and make it unique. I often find that there is a lot of monotony with them. But this is hardly the case for the Blood Courtesans. In this world vampires are real and out in the open. They are normal people like you and me but they drink blood…maybe they are not what you consider completely normal, lol! Neriza is our female lead in Refrain. She lost her parents in a horrible car accident and this accident has left her sister paralyzed. Neriza is the sole provider for herself and her sister along with taking care of her parent’s debt. She decides to apply to be a Blood Courtesan. She tries to do this quietly as her uncle doesn’t agree with vampires paying for blood. Basically she gets rented for sex and blood. She has a unique quality about her that makes her a bit more valuable and she is accepted right away. She is essentially “rented” by Lyric (through his assistant) so that she can go on tour with the band and keep him sustained. Lyric happens to be the lead singer of the band Crimson Rivers, also her childhood crush, also a total hottie with an accent! He wants her gone and gone ASAP! She can’t figure out why so she puts all of her effort into getting him to keep her so that she is not in trouble with the Madame at the agency. As these two are learning to work together she gets some terrible news and finds that her dad was in the middle of some shady dealings, and here is where the real fun begins. Neriza and Lyric do form a friendship and confide in each other about their pasts. As things heat up both of their pasts come to the present and we find that the world may not be as large as we all thought. I can’t give you ANY more of the story without giving away tons of spoilers. The intensity between Lyric and Neriza with the witty banter is enough to make you want to read the book. But all the crazy twists in between are what makes this story amazing!
