They must each decide which they value more: their childhood dreams, their damaged reputations, or their newfound love.

Searching for my Rogue by Dawn Brower

My Enemy, My Earl by Tammy Andresen

A Most Inconvenient Love by Jillian Eaton

Rough and common, Aiden Donovan is the exact opposite of Evie’s boring-as-lint fiance. But from the first moment they bump into one another on a crowded street, she finds herself utterly captivated by his dark roguish charm. As the day to her wedding draws closer, will Evie listen to her head? Or for the first time in her life will she risk everything to follow her heart?

First paragraph excerpt from each novella:

Lord of Pirates by Scarlett Scott

Edmond Grey knew he damn well didn’t want to be a baker. Apprenticed from the time he was but a lad, he’d grown weary of flour, of baking buns, of never leaving the tedious life of shopkeeper. He’d finally settled upon the path that would lead him far away.

Scandalous Endeavors by Amanda Mariel

Amelia stood as still as a hollowed out tree as drizzle coated her body in cool little beads. Dark clouds hung stationary overhead. Water spattered into a small, deep hole carved out of the rain-soaked ground. She surveyed the surrounding landscape speckled with memorial stones and decorated in wilted flowers. Why?

Grace Captures the Captain by Gemma Blackwood

“Blast that scoundrel’s eyes!” cried Captain Charles Everly, rising to his feet. “I’ll call him out this instant!”

“Now, Charlie,” said his sister, affecting the most soothing tone she could manage. “That is uncalled-for, and you know it.”

Mrs Alison Henshaw, who was born Alison Everly, had only had a matter of hours to grow accustomed to the change in her brother. He had joined the army a big-hearted boy of twenty-one. This grown man who had returned from the war that morning was bearded, rash, and angry. He was no longer the sweet Charlie she thought she knew.

Searching for my Rogue by Dawn Brower

“Aly, have you seen my shoes?”

Alys Dewitt rolled her eyes. “Did you check under the bed?” Her younger sister, Regina, was constantly losing something. They both sat in Regina’s chamber wearing their undergarments covered by a silk robe. If it wasn’t one thing, her sister would make something up so the attention would fall back to where she believed it belonged—on her.

Unmasking a Duke by Ellie St. Clair

“I am not sure I agree with this,” Elias Stephens, the Duke of Elenford murmured with a frown. “The whole idea seems quite ridiculous.”

Lord Andrew Stephens, brother to the Duke, sighed in frustration as he attempted to convince his brother to do as he suggested. It had always been something of an impossible task, given that they were both as stubborn as mules. “Elenford, be reasonable. If there truly is someone attempting to harm you — perhaps even kill you,” he exclaimed, “then it is best you go into hiding for a time. We need to ascertain exactly where these threats are coming from.” And perhaps if you are gone for a time, without the ability to do further harm, they will stop entirely, he thought, though he didn’t voice his words aloud.

My Enemy, My Earl by Tammy Andresen

Lord Ewan McDougal, Earl of Dumfries, took a deep breath of Scottish air as he trotted down the rutted road toward Kirkcaldy. It was so good to be back in his home country. Even with the misting rain, the fresh smell of spring flowers lifted his spirits. With any luck, he’d never step foot on soil that wasn’t Scottish again.

A Most Inconvenient Love by Jillian Eaton
Genevieve knew she was beautiful. She knew it in the same way she knew it was raining outside and whenever Uncle Rigby came for dinner he would be half foxed and far too handsy for his own good. Her beauty was a fact, not an opinion. A fact she had been living with for her entire life.

#NewRelease – It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time by Kylie Scott

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at eighteen hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was.

Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation—confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Add her father to the misunderstanding, and Pete had been left with a broken nose and a business on the edge of ruin. The man had to be just as glad as everyone else when she left town.

Seven years on, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but a fully grown adult more than capable of getting through the wedding and being polite. But all it takes is seeing him again to bring back all those old feelings.

Sometimes first loves are the truest.

#Review #Shifter #BlackstoneMountian The Blackstone She-Bear (Blackstone Mountain book 7) by Alicia Montgomery

Amelia Walker is finally coming home to Blackstone. Few people know the real reason why she left – her heart and her bear had been broken when her mate, polar bear shifter Mason Grimes, suddenly left her after their whirlwind romance. Leaving Amelia was the worst mistake of Mason’s life. But, Blackstone is his salvation, the only way he can right the wrongs of the past and provide for his daughter, Cassie, after his ex-wife abandons her. He doesn’t have time for love, but when he finds out that he’s the reason Amelia is broken, he vows to make it right.

Amelia doesn’t want to risk getting her heart broken all over again and she knows that Mason has other priorities. But, she can’t resist the pull of the mating call, but she knows she must stay away, for everyone’s sake.

Will the pain of the past keep them apart or is the pull of fated mates stronger? Find out by reading this heart-wrenching paranormal romance.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

Ok, we all know that Alicia Montgomery is great at writing angsty shifters, with this story she gives us heartbreak.

Amelia Walker was sure she met her mate at 21, it was like she was told all her life.  She knew as soon as she saw him he belonged to her.  Mason, knew nothing about mates, he just knew that he was drawn to  Amelia like he had never been anyone else.

When he suddenly has to leave because he’s told he’s gotten a superior officer’s family member pregnant, he has to do what’s right no matter what his heart and bear says.  Amelia leaves Blackstone after this and only returns for visits, because she knows her family will sense that she no longer herself.

Years later she moves back to town to be closer to her family again and who else has moved to town……Mason.

Mason knows that he screwed things up years ago, however since he didn’t know anything about shifters until he was grown he didn’t know anything about mate bonds until now and now he realizes not only did he screw up his life but Amelia’s as well.

Man, I thought that Luke’s story was my favorite but Amelia and Mason are giving him a run for his money.

Broken mate bonds, neglected children,  a second chance at love.  This book gives you all the feels.

#WOTR2018 #Paranormal #VCWarriors Ronan (The Protectors book 12) by Teresa Gabelman

Ronan (The Protectors #12)

Most think that newest VC Warrior, Ronan McDonald, is just a laid back cowboy. What they don’t see is the inner turmoil that only his small ranch and horses can tame. At least that was the way it had been until a witch with a beauty none could deny walked into his life.

Running has been Kira Grail’s life for as long as she can remember. It isn’t until she meets a VC Warrior that she realizes she is growing weary, but the forces chasing her will never bend.

Ronan doesn’t believe in witches or curses. What he does believe is that only he can keep Kira safe. Together they fight to bring the once powerful warlock, Orjyll, to his knees releasing the women of the Dragonfly Coven. During their perilous journey Kira vows to keep her distance, but the vampire cowboy has other plans.

Goodreads

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

You know the saying “Save a horse, ride a cowboy”?  Well, if that cowboy happens to be a VC Warrior that’s even better and with Ronan that’s who you get, a vampire warrior cowboy!!!

Mira we met in Steve’s book, Invisible Warrior, she’s Kira’s sister. To recap they’ve been running all their lives from the evil Orjyll.  He wants the Dragonfly coven dead so that his powers can return.

Mira is scrappy, she fights the pull she feels for Ronan, but come on we know in the end no one can fight  love for long.  She also learns that she is more powerful than she ever knew.

We also get to see Ronan on his home turf, his ranch riding a horse!!!  Can you say yummy!!!! Lol!!!

While the group is on the look out for Oyjyll, the mates are training to become warriors too and boy is there drama with that and our boy Jared.

That Teresa gives us Mira and Ronan’s story along with what is going on with the other Warrior’s is why she’s one of the best.  Yes, her readers want new stories, however we also want to know what is going on with some of our beloved characters, it’s the best of both worlds.

The Ties That Bind (An Ariel Kimber Novel Book 4) by [Martel, Mary]

The Ties That Bind is book 4 in the Ariel Kimber Series.
Ariel Kimber isn’t like most seventeen year old girls. She’s different because she’s a witch with magic and it’s rare for females to hold magic anymore. She’s settling into her new place amongst her coven of guys while she’s settling into her new home at the same time.
The Council’s appearance into their lives has put everyone on edge. With good reason. Ariel is forced to meet with one of them on a regular basis so that they can learn from each other. Really, though, they just want to get to the bottom of where Ariel came from and she is more than happy to comply with them.
Because there is one thing she wants more than anything else in the world, and that’s to find the man who has been searching for her for years. Her biological father.
And Ariel is willing to go through any and every thing to find him.

The Ties that Bind, Ariel Kimble book 4 by Mary Martel

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Man, this book…in a word….INTENSE!!   There is a lot that goes on this this book plus a hella-lotta of set up for the next few books.  You better buckle in friends because shit is about to get crazy!!

Before I begin, I gotta say I LOVED seeing Ariel spend time with Dash *Blushing* I dunno what it is about him but he is just *Sigh* so sweet.  I also loved Ariel starting to date the other guys she hasn’t bonded with.  We see the bonds she has with Her Salt & Pepper Twins, Uncle Panty Thief, Tyson, and even Dash but Her date with Damien…seriously put him on my radar!!!  Then her time with Julian even if it was brief…..Yeah I loved it!!

You guys so much happens in this book…like for real…so much.  Rain makes an appearance and I am still not sure if he is the wonderful Father Ariel is hoping for OR a Sociopath…like I am on the fence and you will be too when you read this book.  We see more of the Council, Chucky and even *GASP* Annabelle appears in this book. *Grumbles under my breath about that skank*.

But the biggest reveal comes when we find out about Ariel and her Biological Witch Family….WHOOOOOOO that is some heavy stuff!!!  But I think learning more and more about the Council gives me the chills because Ariel is gonna have some serious problems if they find out her true nature as are her seven coven boyfriends!

I cannot wait for more because this series is getting just so much better and more complex with each story!!

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh Nellie this was jammed pack.  Ariel discovered her real father was out there.  Between her and her boys having to deal with the Council and dealing with the past this was an unforgettable read.

There is so much in this book I/m not sure my review will do it justice. The council is having Ariel do blood magic to find her father. This doesn’t make Quinton happy.  Not only this but the council brought back Chucky and Annabelle back into their lives and ugh that is all I’m going to say about that.  Then we do get to meet Rain, Ariel’s father, to be honest I am not sure what to think of him.

I loved to see Ariel and the guy’s relationship grow. Even though they all have trust issues after being hurt in their past we are learning more about each of them.  I like how we are learning about the guys along with Ariel.  Each of them has a different personality and Ariel reacts to them all differently.  I have to say my heart is opening more toward Damien.  Tyson made me sad when he asked Ariel to keep secrets from others.

This book kept my attention and was hard to set down. I am intrigued to see what will happen next.

A few of my favorites

The girl has a serious mouth that she had no problem popping off whenever the mood struck her (and it stuck her often enough), but being mouthy and unafraid to speak your mind were a whole lot different.

I don’t think you know how to just be. Be in the moment. Be happy. To just breathe and not have to be fighting for something or fighting off someone.

The fork in the road in front of me screamed go right.
Giano gave me life.
I gave him death.
The path to peace inside of me was paved in his blood. Can I ever believe in love again?
Instead of going right, I veered left into the depths of a world unknown.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I was a HUGE fan of Stay.  If you haven’t read it, you need to stop and read that story first.  You have to read it in order to understand what is going on in the series.

This book takes placed right after *sniff* Giano’s death.  I am still so sad about that yet Chelsea still says it had to happen….sigh…anyway, Angelina is a mess.  She is guilt and hurt and sad and lonely and just A MESS!!  She misses Giano with everything she is.  She has Uncle ZoZo there to help her pick up the pieces but its just not enough.

After his death, she packs up and goes to college to try and move on with her life.  She meets and falls in love with Shawn who also has ties to “The Families.”  No matter, we see her thriving and mostly learning to love and trust……However, Angelina soon learns that the “PAST” Giano tried to shelter her from is not gone. Her past is going to come back to haunt her and her new love.

I am so excited to see the final installment. Fallyn returns to kick some ass.  Angelina is the sweet face to our girl but when Fallyn comes out to play, ya’ll better be ready.  She is not happy and she is going to be leaving a trail of blood in her wake!!!

Chelsea Camaron is a small town Carolina girl with a big imagination. She is a wife and mom chasing her dreams. She writes contemporary romance, erotic suspense, and psychological thrillers. She loves to write blue-collar men who have real problems with a fictional twist. From mechanics to bikers to oil riggers to smokejumpers, bar owners, and beyond, she loves a strong hero who works hard and plays harder.

#WOTR18 – #REVIEW – Greyson by JM Walker

Greyson

Confusion. Lust. Fear. Passion.

It started the moment she passed out in my arms.

Seduction. Vile. Depraved. Desire.

She couldn’t remember her past but looked to me like I was her future.

My walls were built. My heart was cold. My emotions vacant.

After being alone for five years with only my motorcycle club at my side, she was who I had been searching for. The one I had needed all along to light up the darkness surrounding my life. Just when I thought I had her, just when I thought I could finally allow myself that happiness I didn’t think I deserved. She was ripped from my hands…

Goodreads

Be prepared for an incredible mind scramble! Eve is literally in the midst of a mind scramble. She has no clue who she is or why she is running but she knows it’s bad. Greyson is a hardcore MC guy who has done some shady things and is and has been totally closed off from anything new. When Eve lands in Greyson’s arms he can’t help but want to help her…and she sees him as her savior. But the problem with all of this is the fact that Eve has no clue who she is and Greyson is a total dick to her because he doesn’t believe he is good enough for anyone so he continues to push her away. The story itself is a rollercoaster full of emotional heartache with some laughs and some crazy HAWT stuff!!!! I am by no means a hardcore MC reader but I fell into the King’s Harlots series where Greyson first appeared and I just cannot get enough of this man! He has such a past that I wanted to uncover and get to know. And our heroine, well she put the cherry on top.

“Wind whipped around me, slapping me in the face and cutting into my skin like broken shards of glass. Sticks dug into my feet, the pain slicing through me but no matter how much agony it caused, I ran faster and faster. I didn’t know where I was going. I didn’t know what I was running toward. All I knew was that I was running from something. Whatever it had been, it was evil. Worse than the Devil himself. I didn’t know how I knew that. I couldn’t remember. But I could just feel it. “

“Eve. Sent from God to tempt me. F*** my life.”

“Hate me, beautiful girl. It’ll keep you safe.”

If there is one thing I have learned about the author with the past series and this book is that there is no end to the twists and turns that can come up. The banter between the MC members and with Eve is funny and definitely keeps Greyson on his toes. He is in constant turmoil over whether he can be the man he thinks he has to be for her and she is trying to figure out if her attraction is love or just that she needs someone to latch on to. But, whew! When the plot twist comes…and there is a couple, it will blow your mind! It is jammed pack full of surprises!!!

#WOTR18 – #Review – Rushed by Kerri Ann

Rushed

After the accident I became no one…

I’m a blank slate.
I don’t remember the larger things you take for granted, like who am I, where I live, or if I have a family.
I remember nothing of importance.
The only clues are in the ruins that surround me.

Walking into the club, the growly voice behind me entices me to learn about myself. To look at this moment instead of the past. To find out what my new life can be if I give it a chance.
He’s excessive, he’s empowering, he’s dangerous.
He’s more than I bargained for.
The ex-MMA fighter that owns the hottest sex club in New York is everything I should avoid.

I swore it would be only one time, but as his hands roam I’m not sure this is something I could give up. Not even for a glimpse of who I was.

As I build new memories, can I give them—and him—all up for the past I’m missing?

Goodreads

No Rush! Take your time! Rushed is an intense rollercoaster of ups and downs and some WOWZA emotions! Keenan was involved in an accident and has amnesia. She has no clue who she was, what she did, or if there may be anyone looking for her. She has these terrible nightmares and just can’t figure out if it is an actual dream or a memory.

“There’s no use in finding sleep tonight, or any other night, really. The nightmare is always there, every time I close my eyes. I’m stuck in the past, delaying my future, and I need to be free of this. I need my life back.”

While she has been staying at a hotel she has made some really great friends. She decides she will try to move on and just go forward and if she remembers….well, then she remembers. She is starting to try new things and go new places to see if it triggers any of her memories. She happens to go to a certain club owned by a certain guy they call Rush. They “run” into each other and things start to sizzle. But then duty calls and Rush is called away. She gets into some trouble and Rush comes to her rescue and from here on out things get crazy insane! From here I refuse to go into details as there will be no spoilers from me. I cannot tell you enough that the supporting characters in this story along with how the characters are all interwoven are incredible. You will find out more about the accident and when you do it will smack you in the face. I literally gasped at this point. The story definitely builds until this point, and when I say builds….it will keep you on pins and needles just waiting for the details. And once that is all out, BOOM! More smacks in the face with the plot twists and emotional rollercoaster ride of OMFG’s! The chemistry between these two characters is intense and perfect! Again, intense and sizzling hawt!!! Take your time with this one….you won’t want it to end!

Bullet, Book 1 Review –

I received this book for an honest review from the author and honest you shall get!!!

I am sitting here at my computer sobbing, literally sobbing over this book. I went through a box of tissues and a packet of tums. IN-FREAKING-TENSE was this book.

I am a fan of really emotional, gut wrenching, tear your heart out and stomp on it while it lays on the floor kinda books!! This book sooooooo qualifies.

Val is such an amazing person who is so giving and loving but seems to be stuck in the ever emotional toxic love of Ethan. Ethan is just a true measure of addiction and doesn’t appreciate Val for all she is worth. His idea of “chasing her” is screwing everything else that has a skirt on or getting so high he cant even function. This is pretty much their relationship but the addiction continues to get worse and worse as does his behavior and attitude toward her. I think the author did a great job showing the true relationship of a couple when addiction is involved. It is heart wrenching that Ethan has had emotional and physically abusive relationships but he is so self involved he has no idea he is doing the same thing to Val.

There were a few scenes where I broke for Val when she was confronted by Ethan’s wondering ways. I feared for her because she knows in her heart he is not a “good person” but the party scene absolutely crushed me along with her. I think, like Val, i wanted him to have some redeeming qualities…..but the party killed me. I broke for her and me at that point. Then I broke for the man I wanted to see Val with. The man who loved her, supported and cared for her even though she was stuck in this web of Ethan lies and betrayal.

Well along the way Val does develop some emotionally sustaining and loving relationships. SOME of the “relationships” I was like “you go girl!!” I loved the men who helped her through tough times with Ethan. However no matter what, she would always return to Ethan. This dance goes on for a few years.

I am not going to talk specifics because I will totally end up giving away the whole story BUT if you love rocker books and you love emotionally raw “real” books then this is the book for you. seriously. i cannot wait to read the books for the other band members!!!!

about the author

Jade C. Jamison was born and raised in Colorado and has decided she likes it enough to stay forever. Jade’s day job is teaching Creative Writing, but teaching doesn’t stop her from doing a little writing herself.

Unfortunately, there’s no one genre that quite fits her writing. Her work has been labeled romance, erotica, suspense, and women’s fiction, and the latter is probably the safest and closest description. But you’ll see that her writing doesn’t quite fit any of those genres.

You’ll have to discover Jade’s writing for yourself to decide if you like it.
