I was given this book by the author for an honest review.
I was super excited to get this book because in Book 1, Blythe was such a mega snot I wanted to know more about her bitch ass. LOL
But I gotta admit, as I read this book, I really didn’t like, nor did I connect with her. She is a bitch. Period. I mean I didn’t find anything about her that I was like “Ok I get it now”. She was very into her own wants and wishes everyone else be damned.
The guys in the book I loved. They all were great and cared so much for her and put up with a lot with her. They never ever stopped caring or pushing for more. They even wanted to protect her from someone who they knew wasn’t a good person.
I guess I wish there was a bit more into the relationships between Blythe and the guys because most of the story was about her and not the guys. The sexy times with the guys were good but I just felt it was flat as far as their love story goes. I LOVE Brandy’s books so this one kinda took me by surprise that I didn’t love it like I have all the others.
It did a good job showing the ladies in the bookclub bonding and moved the arc along for their future books but yeah…..
Review by Twinsie Melinda
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
I absolutely loved the first book in this series. Really a group of women who don’t know each other come together in a book club. These women strike up a friendship where even with their flaws they still band together and support one another. I was curious about Blythe in the first book and was so excited to learn more about her. She seemed to be blunt and opinionated at times. I was ready to find out what made her tick and wanted to know what made her Blythe. I was a bit disappointed when I didn’t connect with her like I wanted. However, oh boy did I connect with her guys and I loved getting to see a little more of her book club friends (yes I say friends even if Blythe may not see it that way).
I loved how everyone rallied around her the guys and her book club girls. Never giving up on her and always there no matter what her mood was or how snooty she got. Only true fiends and loves can look past your flaws and love you unconditionally no matter what. I enjoyed seeing the ladies bond get stronger as the book went on. No matter how much distance she put between the guys and her they were always there for her and always had her back even if she didn’t know it or see it.
I do enjoy this series and love the concept of it. I am excited to see who the next book will be about and see these ladies bond grow even more.
Brandy Slaven lives in Tennessee with her husband and two wild children. If you can’t find her typing away at her laptop, you will find her with her nose in a book at the beach or hiking at a state park.
Escaping reality one book at a time has been Miranda’s motto since she learned to read. As an only child raised on a dairy farm her creative imagination brought words to life. She devoured more books growing up than her little town bookmobile could handle. It was inevitable that she would turn from reading them to writing them. This is her way to help not only herself but others escape the day to day drudge. Her books may take you on a journey through time, give you a look inside a fantasy realm, or delve into the magic of almost anything paranormal. Threading in heart stopping romance and dropping an occasional super sexy scene just to keep you on your toes.
Miranda’s stories are focused around strong female leads and sexy males who appreciate them. She strives to encourage her readers that they can have it all in real life too.
You can find her most days either subbing at the local high school or tucked away in her office working on the next story with a cup of java in her hand. She loves connecting with her readers online as well as in real life so make sure to find her on Facebook and check out where she will be signing throughout the year on her website.
In book one of Steel MC: Titan “Steel” Malone was damaged by war, discharged from the Army, and had nowhere to go. Until he finds out, he inherited an entire town and over ten thousand acres of property from his best friend who gave his life protecting the United States. Steel takes the five remaining soldiers left of his squad and offers them a place to call home. Delaney “Dell” O’Riley, during a mission, loses everything. The loss so great she leaves without looking back. Three children to be raised alone. After years of wondering, she stumbles upon what’s left of her husband’s, Company, the Renegades. Can doubt, hurt, loss, grief, then forgiveness lead Steel and Dell to recovery or does it tear them apart forever?
I met the main characters, Steel and Dell, a longtime ago when I read the spin off series : Steel MC Montana Charter. SOOOO I knew all about steel and Dell but I didn’t know the road to their HEA. When I met Wren, I had to buy the books since I am head over heels in love with the other series, she co-writes with Michel Prince. I have been sitting on these books until just NOW because LIFE…ya know.
I have to say I had a rough time reading these books due to the time jumps that aren’t explained util mid-way through a chapter. I also had issue with some of the messiness of the chapters. It seemed a bit choppy initially to me when reading. I was really struggling even at 35% into the book. I will say the flow seemed to get better more towards the end of the book but if I wasn’t already invested in these characters from another series I might had not finished reading.
Steel is a bit of a man whore and a bit of a DB. I am being real here people. He loves Dell and always had but he isn’t about to sit and wait for her to come to him. Dell is a hot mess since her husband left and knows Steel wants her and she him but again GUILT. It’s a hard thing.
But when Dell does come to him, he is a mega dick. Like I would have nut punched him. Given I know how awesome he is later, it made me sad/angry to see him this way. But Dell is a mess of contradictions. She doesn’t want any responsibilities but then is running all the MC Hoez and such. So again…..Choppy and makes your head spin at how on again and off again she is.
Essentially these two have a whole city block worth’s of history to deal with and right when you think they might make a connection, Dell is kidnapped and the MC is going to get her.
I really wanted to love this book but found it hard to read and follow initially. I really really wanna read book 2 because I know these characters from the spin off and want to see the road to their HEA.
Wren grew up in the Northern part of the USA. She enjoys spending time with family, curling up with a good book, coloring in her adult books and driving motorcycles, big trucks and fast cars to relieve stress after a busy week.
Born in a large family she is all about family values and morals.
Wren’s friends and family will agree she is never far from a pen and paper as she finds so many things in the world peak her interest and can inspire an entire story.
Identical twins Maddox and Hunter Shepherd share everything. They’ve dedicated their lives to pleasure. Sex, debauchery, and fun fill their evenings and weekends. As they approach thirty and spend time with their niece, Maddox begins to want more. When Mykah walks into their lives, bringing insane chemistry and a mystique that leaves them craving more than one night—the only decision is to make her theirs.
Mykah’s spent her life trying to prove she’s more than her parents’ mistake. As a result of an affair, she’s always been looked down on by her mother’s wealthy family. Struggling to make her dreams come true with limited funds on her own terms, she’s headed toward burnout. An evening on the town for her birthday shows her everything she could have if she’s willing to embrace the taboo, and stand up for herself.
Can the twins convince their tight-laced beauty life is better on the wicked side?
I purchased this book off Amazon when it was free.
I grabbed this book because help TWINS…yes please. I have also never read anything by this author and wanted to give it a try. I love novellas and this was also another reason the book appealed to me. I love short, quick reads some days. I’m on Christmas break and just wanted to try to read a few books by new to me authors.
This story is about Hunter and Maddox. Two identical twins who are love ‘em and leave ‘ems util they meet Mykah. Hunter and Maddox are stunned happy that this beautiful woman is interested in them both and would consider dating them and more. They have been through a lot with women in the past and their family not understanding their “twin bond”.
Mykah has been though a lot with men in her life plus the fact she is a “dirty little secret” doesn’t help her self-esteem either. She knows her extended family isn’t exactly in love with how she came to be born.
When they all meet thanks to a mutual friend dragging Mykah out for her birthday sparks fly immediately. I liked the story. It’s a fast paced story with an inst-love feel but hey I read romance for love so I will take it at any pace it comes.
So if hot men…errr twins at that, insta-love, hawt sexy times, and a passion to protect the new found love is something you want to read then this I treasure for you. I admit book 3 sounds like something I might wanna dive into as well.
Shyla Colt is the sassy USA Today Bestselling author of the popular series Kings of Chaos and Dueling Devils M.C. This genre-hoppers stories feature three of her favorite things: strong females, pop culture, and alternate routes to happy ever after. Listening to her Romani soul, she pens from the heart, allowing the dynamic characters, eccentric interests, and travels as a former flight attendant to take her down untraveled roads.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, this mid-west girl is proud of her roots. She used her hometown and the surrounding areas as a backdrop for a number of books. So, if you’re a Buckeye, keep an eye out for familiar places.
As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there’s never a dull moment in her household.
She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company.
He asked me to be his fake wife… I gave him my v card.
Yea, it probably wasn’t the smartest move. He’s my hot, older next-door neighbor and he looks like he would be trouble. But after one taste of my cupcake, he’s on a mission. He watches me like an obsessed voyeur, and I probably should tell him no, but when he gets in a bind, I agree to be his fake wife.
It was supposed to be a fun Christmas Eve celebration.
I wasn’t supposed to fall for him.
And I definitely wasn’t supposed to end up in his bed after one date.
Lincoln is smart, handsome, protective and exactly what I wanted… but I wasn’t ready for the next morning when I hear another woman on the phone claiming to be his wife.
Was this all a game? If so, it’s one I really didn’t want to lose.
Welcome to a filthy dirty Christmas! Forget sugar and spice and everything nice … this year we want to show off our naughty side. Taboo, dangerous, and over-the-top, we’re bringing you everything you were too scared to ask Santa for. **Don’t worry, loves, these are still packed with the heroes you crave and the HEA’s you deserve!
So I was looking for hot, fun, novella type reads and came across this multi-author series by author’s I’ve never read before. I figured why not and give them a shot and I’m glad I did!
VCard For Christmas starts off this Holiday series where we meet Lincoln and Avery. Avery just moved in but Lincoln had no idea until two weeks later. There’s an instant connection between them, one that neither of them can deny. It’s definitely a love at first sight kind of situation.
Lincoln ends up finding himself in a situation where he needs a wingman so to speak. With Avery pretending to be his wife so doesn’t get hit on by a business partner’s wife, things take a turn for better. Pretending to be husband and wife, definitely increases their attraction they have for each other. Until it gets to the point where they can’t do anything but consumate their fake marriage.
Throw in some sweetness, mixed with some spice and steam, and you get a quick, hot little read for those cool nights.

Swish, swish. The windshield wipers were busy at work this morning. It’d been raining since late the night before, and now there was just a whole dreary feel to the day. Dark and gloomy, matching my mood. It was perfect. Swish, swish. “Are you nervous, miss?” I wasn’t responding, because this isn’t how things were supposed to be. I wasn’t supposed to wake up in the middle of the night and find the bed empty. And I wasn’t supposed to have to be escorted by one of our guards down to the apartment building’s gym to find my boyfriend , the guy I loved, the guy who was so not a secret from the entire world anymore, pummeling a boxing bag so hard that his knuckles ripped open every night. It was not right that I had to stand on the side, waiting for him to fight through his haze before he noticed I was there, and then watch as blood dripped from his hands to the floor. But all of that was happening. Because three weeks after there’d been a kidnapping attempt on me, after he had saved me, everything was just, simply, not okay. To be more frank, everything was shit. And here I was. In the back of an SUV being driven by one of my two personal bodyguards, to a school that I used to daydream about attending, while my boyfriend, that guy I had come to love so much, was heading into his own personal nightmare. Fitz, my guard, clued in on my state and didn’t ask again, but his eyes were on me . He saw. He more than saw, and I knew I’d be getting a call from Kash about two minutes after the first chance Fitz had a moment to text his boss that I was not okay. Because I wasn’t. Today was the day all my dreams were supposed to come true. Instead, I was a week late going to my graduate program and I wanted to be anywhere except where I was going. And I had no say, because the world found out in a big way I was the daughter of Peter Francis, a tech legend that I’d grown up idolizing until I found out myself, this past summer, that he was also my father. And then there was my boyfriend, Kash Colello, whose grandfather was one of the richest men in the world, but that came with strings and dangerous alliances with the dark underground of the world. My boyfriend, with his inherited wealth, now that he had come out of the shadows to the world, and whose “coming out” was even bigger than mine because of his connections and his family, was now the ninth wealthiest man in the world. Life as Peter Francis’s daughter, life as Kash Colello’s girlfriend, was a whole lot different than life had been as Bailey Hayes. There were rules and expectations and lots and lots of people watching you. So no, I was not okay.

Her characters are strong, intense, and gut-wrenchingly real with a little bit of sass on the side. Tijan began writing later in life and once she started, she was hooked. She’s written multi-bestsellers including the Carter Reed Series, the Fallen Crest Series, and the Broken and Screwed Series among others. She is currently writing a new series from north Minnesota where she lives with an English Cocker she adores.
I received a copy of this book and audio book from the publisher via NetGalley.
I absolutely loved Bailey and Kash in The Insiders. I was so excited to see that I received a copy of The Damaged to find out what was going on in their life. I was flying through the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next and where in the work this was going to end up. I can say I had no idea this was going to end the way it did. I was on the edge of my seat who is a friend, who is an enemy pretending to be a friend, who is lying, who is betraying them.
Bailey Hayes was always the one on the sidelines or in the back ground, never one to stand out or be noticed. Now that the world knows who her father and boyfriend is she cannot get out of the spotlight. She is trying to navigate graduate school all whiling dealing with things that are going on in her head, her past, and just around her in general. Kash helps to ground her and protects her.
Kash is still full of secrets and keeps part of his life away from Bailey to protect her. Kash Grandfather is out to get him. They are both constantly trying to stay one step ahead of the other. Only problem is Kash’s Grandfather knows his Achilles heel. We get a small glimpse into what all Kash does for his family and Bailey.
I still have so many questions regarding Kash and his family. I enjoyed seeing Bailey get a “normal” day out. I love that the chemistry between Kash and Bailey is still intense. I enjoy seeing the playful side of Kash when he would let that side show. Even though we got to see more of Kash and the Francis family there are still so many secrets and things that need to be explained. As with The Insider the plot is still amazing, I’m not sure who all the players are in this story good or bad. One minute you think someone is a good person and then your like wow didn’t see that coming. The ending of this one had me on the edge of my seat and now I need to know more of this family and how things are going to end.
Emma Galvin and Joe Arden are both new voices for me. I enjoyed hearing Emma as the voice of the heroine. Her voice was soft but could be firm when needed which is what I thought Bailey’s voice would be when I read the book. Joe Arden did a great job as being the voice of Kash. His voice was powerful but softened when around Bailey. Their narration of the book made me not want to stop it any time.
Less than a week before Christmas. In public. Dressed as a slutty Mrs. Claus. All she wants is to hide in the bathroom and have a breakdown in peace.
But the Silver Fox who owns the bar has other plans.
The moment Nick takes in Holly’s grey eyes and sassy attitude, he’s hooked. There’s no denying the attraction that has sparked between them. And when that tension finally snaps, he finds himself taking Holly to bed.
A kinky one night stand later, and they’re left questioning if it was enough.
Oh this book was fun. First let me just say that I would have one-clicked this based on the cover alone. Cassie with Opulent Designs did an epic job.
Okay now to review the book.
We meet Holly who got dumped by her douche of a boyfriend. He did it at a bar. Right in front of his friends. Nice right?
So of course she’s upset. Well in walks Nick who can I just say is quite delicious from the very first page we meet him. Now I didn’t read the blurb, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Nick is a silver fox and Holly is quite younger, so if you like age gap stories, you may just like this one.
Also, there is a light daddy kink in this book but it wasn’t overdone. It’s not my thing but I sure do love reading it and I respect people who play in this area. Safely and consensually of course.
After a night together, Holly and Nick realize that they don’t really want this to end. Who would? Especially when you receive the best O’s of your life from a mere stranger.
Once their night is over, they decide to go out for breakfast and talk about continuing this little delicious thing they got going on. I was actually hoping for more but then I saw a pre-order for the next book. So you bet your booty, I pre-ordered it.
If you like stories with an age-gap, a daddy kink, some Domination/submission and a whole lot of spanking, then this book is for you. It’s a fun, hot little read for those cold wintery nights.
This story was short but it was pretty intense. It was also quite inspiring for a future book I’m writing but that’s a story for another day.
We meet Jesse who is poor and needs to save up some money for his sick grandmother. Also, battling with an addiction, he learns to fight. He realizes that it’s one of the only things he’s able to control. But the more he fights people in his town, the less opponents he has as he pretty much fights anyone who’s willing to take him on. While he’s hardened up, broken and bruised, the money starts rolling in and he can’t stop. His grandmother’s medical bills aren’t cheap.
Jesse’s sister hates seeing him this way and does what she can to make it so he can stop fighting. I liked the twist at the end. It’s a desparate time, calls for desparate measures kind of situation.
This book was definitely short but I liked the author’s descriptive story telling. It was like I could see Jesse’s fights and what he looked like after the fact. I do wish the book was a little longer but that’s just me and doesn’t take away from the story at all.
A grisly murder…a Dom with plenty to lose. My name is Jordan Caldera, and that’s me, the Dom with everything to lose. Yes, I hated the woman who threatened to expose the passionate BDSM lifestyle I share with my wife, Angel. But contrary to what the evidence implies, I didn’t kill her and my alibi is solid. Unfortunately, I was indulging a few powerful clients, administering to their dark desires, and they would sooner see me imprisoned than to publicly reveal their misunderstood cravings. My choices are simple-put my life and high-profile career at risk by exposing the truth or go to jail for a crime I didn’t commit.

Oh what a way to end this series! Jordan has secrets he’s keeping from his Angel. But he’s doing it out of misguided love. When the news breaks that the wanna be journalist, is not only writing their story but plans to out them, is murdered, Jordan has reason to worry. Will he and Angel be torn a part? Luckily Jordan finds support in unlikely places, from unlikely people. But can’t count on the people he was protecting. The entire series is spectacular, the final story ties it all together perfectly!
For 25 years, I’ve worked as a sports writer. I decided now was the time to pursue romance fiction as an author. I found a great group of RWA author friends who have helped me tremendously.
I get great support from my husband, and although they don’t know it, my three parrots and dog give me a huge boost everyday.

Review by WOTRmomma Julia with permission from her daughter Madi
They’ve known each other forever, and there seems to have always been a spark, which both deny. But Hyacinth has found out there will be a Prince in attendance at a Ball she’s being made to attend, and has decided she will be a Princess! Rhys works for the government and is assigned to follow the Prince. But Hyacinth and Rhys seem to keep crossing paths, and with each encounter, some to realize that they don’t actually hate each other. When the Prince’s nefarious plans are discovered, will Rhys save the day? I found this to be a quick, witty and endearing story!
