Review / Release Blitz- Bare Your Soul by Rochelle Paige

Release Week Blitz
Title: Bare Your Soul
Author: Rochelle Paige
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Release Date: February 22, 2016
Angelica Rose’s mom always told her that desperate times
called for desperate measures. Walking into a strip club and asking for an audition certainly qualifies as desperate, but when her mom’s battle with cancer ends months before Angelica is due to start college, she doesn’t feel like she has much choice.
The moment Morgan Cadwell sees her on his stage, he knows
she’s the one woman who could make him break all the rules. There’s no way he’s going to let Angelica dance for other men, so he hires her as his live-in personal assistant instead.
Morgan’s offer lets Angelica keep her clothes on…but
little does she know that, in the end, he’ll make her bare her soul instead.
Warning: This book is about an alpha caveman and a sweet but fierce virgin heroine who fall ridiculously fast in insta-love. If you’re okay with that, then enjoy!
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I enjoy Rochelle Paige’s books the ones I have read are short quick reads. This was no different but it was also full of sexual tension and an insta-love.

Angelica was desperate to make money she had to make ends meet. She used her college fund to take care of her mother and survive. Angelica decided to try dancing at the strip club. Even though she was nervous she knew with her dancing background she could wing it.

Morgan the owner of the strip club dropped by the day Angelica was going to audition. Well let’s just say Morgan saw her and had other plans none of which were having her naked on his stage. Now his bed was another story. One problem with that was that he had strict rules for himself and this little one had him wanting to break them. Morgan makes Angelica an offer to be his live in personal assistant. This way he can be with her every day, she can make the money she needs to go to college and there will be no getting naked on his stage. Win win for Morgan.

Morgan does not hide the fact that he wants Angelica. He gives her the time she needs to realize she wants him just as badly as he wants her. He never pushes but makes it known with his dirty talk what he wants and what he will do. When things are starting to go well Morgan finds out Angelica’s Dad has put her in danger. Will Morgan be able to keep her out of harm’s way or will he loose her?

The sexual tension between Morgan and Angelica was so powerful. I loved the way Morgan gave her the time she needed to make her choices. He was an over the top alpha ready to take what he wanted and protect it with every fiber of his being. Angelica is not one that is weak and needs protecting she has sass, tough and down to earth. These two are the perfect pair.

I cannot wait to see what Rochelle comes up with next.

“Hey, I thought there was no touching in lap dances?” I tried to protest.
“There will always be touching between you and me,” he answered.
I knew it shouldn’t get to me. I didn’t know this guy and I was acting a part to try to get a job. But holy hell his words and his touch were turning me on and confusing me. If I was honest with myself, I’d admit that there was crazy chemistry between us and maybe—just maybe—I was using this situation to my advantage to see what
“There is no you and me,” I retorted as I tilted my body away from him.
“There will be,” he insisted. Some of my uncertainty must have shown on my face because his hands gentled and he ran them from my hips to my back and stroked softly. He lightly tugged on the material but it didn’t fall any further. “Show me more.”
I could feel his cock hard underneath me, my pussy resting over it and driving me more than a little wild.
I’d never been in a situation like this before. His dark eyes burned into mine and I threw all caution to the wind as I undid the rest of the buttons on my dress. It fell, the material gathering around my waist. Morgan held my eyes as his hands moved away from me to grasp my dress and toss it to the ground.
He practically growled as his gaze roamed over my body. I’d chosen my lingerie carefully this morning, choosing the nicest set I owned. It was white lace, so I was worried it made me look too innocent when I’d picked it out, but I didn’t have a lot of choices.
Now I was thrilled with my selection because it fit the role I was playing to perfection.
“Maybe if you’re very good for me I’ll forgive you for being naughty,” he said as he trailed a finger down my chest and snapped the front clasp of my bra open.
His action surprised me, and I moved my hands to cover my chest without realizing what I’d done. He quirked an eyebrow at me in a subtle challenge, like he’d known all along that I wouldn’t be able to stay in character. Taking a deep breath, I remembered the role I needed to play if I wanted this job and forced my arms back down.
“What if I want to be bad for once?” I asked as he slid my bra straps down my arms.
It was like he’d woven a seductive spell around me, making me forget why I was here and all of my troubles. I’d never felt anything like this before. My skin was on fire, goosebumps running along my flesh. My panties were damp and I couldn’t stop myself from rubbing lightly over his length. My body was tightening in anticipation of what would come next.
“As long as you’re with me, you can be as bad as you want to be, Angel,” he whispered before closing his mouth over one of my nipples. Each hand held one of my breasts, squeezing lightly. He plucked at the other one with his finger and thumb, making it
pucker with need.
“Ohmigod,” I gasped at the sensation, closing my eyes so I could pretend this wasn’t actually happening.
“Look at me,” he ordered, and my eyes popped back open to find him staring up at me. “You keep your eyes on me, Angel. I want to see every single thought that runs through your head. No hiding.”

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

After reading Ryder I was crushed at the end and I so wanted to know the rest of the story. I needed to know what was going to happen next and would Ryann and Ryder find their way back to one another.

Ryder took off in the middle of the night. That’s right no note, no good bye, no see you laters, or great knowing you just up and left. This crushed Ryann. You see Ryann never opened up to anyone, never let anyone in, she only trusted her brother. Then the one time she lets her guard down and lets Ryder in, he crushes her and leaves.

After leaving Ryder knows he made a mistake he is torn wants to keep everyone out and stay on the run but he cannot stay far from Ryann. He sets down roots and decides he is going to get Ryann to give him a second change. That comes sooner than Ryder expects when Ryann literally runs into him one day giving him an opening to get his shot. As always just as Ryann is letting her guard down again Ryders past catches up to him. Will his past be too much for Ryann and run or will she stay and fight for Ryder?

I enjoyed both Ryder and Second Chances to see how Ryder and Ryann come together by a chance encounter and connect as quickly as they did was amazing. Then to watch Ryder ride away from it one night crushed me and Ryann too. To be able to see these two find their way back to one another and decide to go all in only to have the past come back and threaten it all was heartbreaking. I loved seeing them together they were the perfect pair neither has a perfect past with Ryder and his trust issues and Ryann with her fears but they made it work when they were together. This was a great ride and I still wanted more Ryder and Ryann when it was over.

Review: Unrequited (Fallen Aces MC #1) by: Max Henry

Title: Unrequited

Series: Fallen Aces MC #1
Author: Max Henry
Genre: MC Romance

 Release Date: February 16, 2016

She was, still is, and will never be anything but my everything.

Our love was all consuming, passionate, and forbidden. We took risks to be together, carrying on an affair for years before her psychotic drug lord husband found the truth behind the lies. She barely escaped with her life … and that of my newborn son.

My club president told me that our love was no longer worth the risk, gave me a choice, and loyalty to the club being what it is, I walked away from her. I left behind the only thing I’ve ever wanted more than life itself and remained the dutiful soldier to a corrupt leader.

Six years and a promotion to club president later, it’s time the lies stopped. She IS worth the risk, I’ve NEVER gone a day without thinking about her OR my son, and I know underneath it all she DOES still love me. She just won’t admit it … yet.

It’s time to run this club my way and make my family what it should have always been—complete. The road may have been long and lonely, but the journey is far from over.

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I have enjoyed Max Henry’s Butcher Boys series and was so excited when I found out King and the Fallen Aces MC was getting their own series. King intrigued me from the moment he was mentioned in the Butcher Boys series now I get to hear the rest of his story.

This takes us to the beginning when King is a prospect. He was trying to keep his nose out of trouble buying his time until the day he would be patched in. Only he didn’t expect to run into the Cuban beauty Elena.

Elena is from Cuba and here in the states to care for her father. She never expected to meet King but a little flirting led to her heart falling hard for King. Only problem is she is already promised to Carlos Redman. She made a deal with the devil and agreed to marry the Devil himself, Carlos, so she could help her mother who was still in Cuba.

Here is where the conflict for both of them arises. You see Elena is cheating on her very evil fiancé who is capable of anything and if King continues to pursue Elena he will be taking the fiancé of the man who is helping the Fallen Aces get out of debt. Now the question is will King give up the club for Elena or will he let Elena go for the good of the club? Being a prospect he cannot have both he will have to decide if his brothers come first or Elena.

I loved the connection that King and Elena have from the moment they see each other. Carlos is one of the best villains I have seen in a series in a while. I knew he was evil from the Butcher Boys but he took it to a whole new level. Kings parents are the best and his dad gives King some of the greatest advice a dad could give. My heart went out to Elena for everything she has went through. The bond that she makes with Maria does make my heart feel better but what Maria and a certain someone else does for Elena makes me think there are good people working for the wicked Carlos.

The ending had me wanting more as I was reading and realized I was at 90% I knew this was going to be a cliffhanger and man was it. I cannot wait for Unbreakable I need to hear the rest of the story. What is going to happen to Elena and King?

Here are a few of my favorites:

“You’re the perfect woman, you know that?” I shake my head and smile. “Oh, I don’t think so.” His hand grips my jaw and he places my face squarely to his. “You are, Elena. You’re perfect to me.” He dots a kiss to the tip of my nose. “You’re all I want.”

“What made you come all this way to find me that day?” He turns his face toward mine and frowns, pain clear in the slow close of his eyes as he pulls in a deep breath. “Because I thought you could’ve been mine.”

“One thing is for certain in life, and that’s nothing is certain. Rules are gonna change, priorities will skew judgment, but the best you can do through it all is remember who you are.” He pushes up in his chair, hesitating on the edge before standing. “It’s the thinkers like you who’ll change things around here one day. But before you can do that, you need to work out what exactly is it you stand for? Tell me that, and you’ll be streaks ahead of half the assholes around this place.”

“Don’t sit around and wait for things to change. Because if they do, it’s either going to be for the worse, or the person who does create the change will be just another person you don’t want as a boss. ”

Review – Paralyzed (Vagabond Circus Book 2) by Sarah Noffke

When the worst case scenario befalls the Vagabond Circus, Zuma knows she must ensure it doesn’t fall to doom. Titus’s job is to guarantee the show goes on, while the acrobats seek to avenge and rescue. Jack has no idea that he’s about to levitate himself into a deadly situation, and only Zuma and Finley can save him from a threat unlike what most have ever encountered. In this second whimsical and dark installment of the Vagabond Circus tale, the reader learns just how the ringmaster, Dr. Dave Raydon, rescued everyone in his troupe and also brought love and treasures into their lives. The unveiling of this history only brings more mystery as the true enemy to Vagabond Circus is unveiled. Charles Knight isn’t an evil man with a deadly agenda. He’s the worst kind of human being and he won’t stop until he’s ruined everyone and everything that the ringmaster loves. Paralyzed is an episodic ride that unravels the pieces of this fantasy circus one act at a time.

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

If you have not read Suspended STOP right hear…Hurry go one click it …go now. You will want to read it first. Paralyzed starts were Suspended left off. What will the circus do without the glue that held it together is no longer there? How will the circus go on with the acrobats missing?

Jack took off on a mission and now it is up to Finley and Zuma to find him and save him. Jack has no idea what he is dropping in on. Finley knows but doesn’t want to let Zuma in on it. Zuma tries to get Finley to trust her enough to let her in. However, Finley struggles to let her help and allow her in because his past is a dark one.

There were a few secrets that Finley let Zuma in on that surprised me even. I have to say I loved the scenes with Zuma’s family. Her sister was a hoot and her brother oh my. All three of them are so different. I have to say the thing Zuma does to help protect Jack from his family’s hurtfulness had me shaking my head. What was she thinking? Poor Finley cannot catch a break. Meanwhile, back at the circus they are all grieving trying to deal with what is happening. Titus is trying to pull it together and go on but not sure how he can do it.

The ending all I can say is hold onto your Top Hat because things at the circus has been flipped upside down. Sarah has such a way of making you feel paralyzed and suspended in midair at the end of this one. I need to have the third book now!

A few of my favorite lines:

she was pretty certain over the next few days they were going to tear each other’s hearts in pieces when she knew all they wanted was to love one another.

“Why won’t you tell me what the curse was about?” she said, her voice suddenly calmer, restrained. “Because I’m and asshole, Zuma, that’s why,” Finley said.
Life is full of magic and if you try and explain it all then you lose the opportunity for bewilderment, which is a beautiful thing.

Zuma didn’t feel whole anymore but rather melted into the person beside her, like they were one. It was a terrifyingly freeing feeling and the point that those two ideas could exist as one confounded every part of both their beings. Zuma could see nothing. Feel nothing. But she had a knowingness so pure and rich she didn’t question it. She was his. And the person all around her belonged to her as much as she belonged to him. There were one.

it struck Zuma how loving Finley could be, especially for not having given affection all his life. It was like the act of unconditional love was somehow in his DNA. He was truly a marvel to her she realized as she watched him walk away.

I was born a fighter. Abandoned by my parents, I spent my life forging my own path—one guided by my fists and paved with pain.

Untouchable in the ring, I destroyed everyone who faced me, but that’s where my victories ended. Outside the ropes, I repeatedly failed the few people who loved me. Including my best friend, Liv James—the one person I’d die to protect.

Even though I didn’t deserve her, Liv never stopped believing in me. Never gave up. Never let go. After all, she understood what I’d lost, because she’d lost it too.

Liv was everything to me, but she was never truly mine.

That was going to change.

I lost my first love, but I refused to lose my soulmate.

Now, I’m on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life.

Fighting to be the man she deserves.

Fighting the solitude of our pasts.

Fighting for her.

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

This story had me in tears in the first few pages, more in the middle, and even more at the end. Some tears were the blubbering crying tears you cannot believe this is happening and some were form pure joy. All the page boys had been through so much in their life and even though Quarry was the youngest his older brothers couldn’t protect him from everything.

Quarry Page lived with a mom that never loved him and a dad that never cared. Quarry could kbe sure of a few things though ever since he was 10 he always had his brothers, Eliza, and his best friend Liv. No matter what they were there and always had his back. Even when he messed up they were always there.

Liv James the daughter of Leo James had her own fears and issues but Quarry was a constant in her life. Even when she lost her other best friend who was also Quarry’s girlfriend. They were each other’s rock but she never could cross the line of friends with Quarry because of Mia.

First off I love Quarry and Lice watching them grow and mature together as friends. I wasn’t sure how this was going to go. Ho was Liv not going to feel like she was second choice for Quarry after everything they had been through with Mia. I loved the letters that Mia left for everyone it took them long enough to accept them and read them. I have to say Quarry was great once he realized what he really wanted and went for it. I loved the two together as friends when they were kids but when they were together when they were older was off the charts. The ending was the vest and yes here is where the water works began again because Aly really knows how to tug at a girl’s heart. I have to say I loved Quarry and this story was more than I ever expected.

Here are a few of my favorites:

My heart became my best-kept secret. Liv was exactly opposite. She wore her heart on her sleeve and exuded innocence. With straight, brown hair and olive-toned skin, she looked like a tiny Hispanic angel. I knew her better than that though. Liv didn’t have an innocent bone in her body. That girl made my brand of trouble look amateur. And , because of that, she quickly became my best friend and partner in crime.

The real pain was that, even though she would be on my arm when we walked through the doors, she would be fair game for every single man in the room. No. Liv James definitely wasn’t mine. Yet.

I was finally realizing what I should have known fourteen years earlier when I’d first laid eyes on her. Liv James had never been just my best friend.

Fighting Solitude

“Mia!” I shouted.

It was worthless. She’d been deaf since the day I met her.

She’d never once heard my voice.

She’d never heard the deep rumble of my laugh when she was excited, signing so fast I could barely keep up.

She’d never heard my content sigh when she barged into the locker room after a fight—just her presence soothed the lingering madness brewing within me.

She’d never heard me whispering my deepest fears into her ear as she fell asleep on top of me.

She’d never heard the reverence in which I cried her name each and every time I took her body.

And she’d never once heard the ease in which the words I love you tumbled from my lips as I stared into her deep, jade green eyes.

But as I screamed her name while watching her petite body seizing in the passenger seat beside me, I’d never needed her to hear me more.

“Mia. Oh God. I’ve got you, baby.”

She was still thrashing violently as I made my way around to her door, yanking it open while pleading with whatever god was willing to help.

When she stilled, a whole new level of silence filled the air around us. It wasn’t the absence of sound.

It was the absence of life.

“Mia, breathe!” I roared as her chest remained agonizingly still. “Help me!” I screamed at the closed emergency room doors, but no medical savior rushed out with the miracle I so desperately needed.

My hands shook wildly as I released her lifeless body from the seatbelt.

“I’ve got you, just hang on. Please just hang on, Mia,” I whispered lifting her into my arms and sprinting through the sliding doors. “I need a doctor! She’s not breathing!”

Nurses rushed towards me in slow motion as the seconds without air in her lungs passed at a terrifying speed.

A doctor appeared with a gurney and quickly took her from my arms.

The immediate loss was staggering.

Hope became my only solace.

She needed help that I wasn’t capable of giving her, but that didn’t stop me from following close behind as they rolled her away. I was on the verge of self-destructing; letting her out of my sight wasn’t an option.

I stood motionless in the doorway while doctors and nurses swarmed around her. Their mouths moved frantically, but without my hearing aids I was worthless to make out the words their faint voices carried.

I never wore my hearing aids when I was with Mia. There was no point. She rarely spoke with her voice.

We’d spent four years building a relationship with our hands.

Those hands had told me animated stories that made me laugh until my face hurt from smiling.

They’d fought with me relentlessly, but always ended the night raking down my back in silent ecstasy.

Her fingers had fluidly signed I love you more times than I could ever count—or forget.

But as I felt the nurse attempting to physically remove me from the room, my eyes became fixated on her limp hand dangling off the side of the bed. It was the only sight more frightening than watching her flail mid-seizure.

It ripped the heart straight from my chest.

That hand was supposed to be full of life.

It was the very essence of Mia.

Oh God.

Sucking in a deep breath, I held it until the room began to spin.

It provided me no relief even as it forced me to my knees.

There would be no distraction from this.

I was going to lose her.

Yet another woman I couldn’t save.

#WOTR Review – Jax (The Protector Series #8) by Teresa Gabelman

Jax, Book 8

Jax Wheeler has been fighting his own demons for as long as he can remember. One of those demons is from his past, a brother who wants nothing more to see Jax suffer. Working closely with the Cincinnati Branch of the VC Warriors Jax never thought he would find someone who could help him ease his pain, but he was wrong.

Having a past of her own, Caroline Fitzpatrick has survived being put into a trance by a madman who wanted to control her sister, a abusive relationship, communicating with the dead, but nothing has prepared her for Jax Wheeler. From the moment she saw him the attraction was immediate, but the attraction was not mutual or was it?

The more Jax tries to stay away from Caroline, the more he finds himself at her door, in her life. All he knows is that every minute he spends with the beautiful school teacher, the more danger he puts her in. His brother’s vengeance of wanting him to suffer has put Caroline in the line of fire and only Jax can protect her.

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of the book from the author for an honest review.

I’ve been patiently waiting for Jax’s book to be released and could not download it fast enough. I have to say Jax Wheeler has intrigued me since he first made an appearance.

Jax keeps to himself but is drawn to Caroline. Like everyone in his life he knows he cannot get close to them. His brother is out there somewhere and he never knows when he is going to show up or who he is going to be. Jax has to protect Caroline and keep her at a safe distance but close enough to keep an eye on her.

Caroline is a school teacher who can communicate with the dead. She has overcome more in a lifetime than most could handle. She is strong and independent but finds the VC Warriors are always on her door step to help out even when she doesn’t ask. The one she is most drawn to is Jax.

My favorite scenes in this book were when Caroline’s ex decides to reappear and Jax finally did what he should have from the beginning regarding Caroline. Although I was right there with Sid and wished Sloan would have showed up 2 minutes later. Another was the whole interview for Sloan’s secretary. I was cracking up at these big bad alpha Warriors being in there breaking up cat fights. Steve what can I say he is the best. However, my favorite of all was when Sloan gave Jax a “pep talk” regarding Caroline and where he stands.

After reading Jax’s story I can now say he is my favorite worrier but there is something that intrigues me about Blaze that I need to know more about. I will have to wait on that story because it looks like Sloan has found his match with his new secretary. Becky seems full of sass and spunk just the perfect mix for Sloan.

#WOTR Author Spotlight – Maggie Adams

Maggie Adams

About the Author

Ok., well, I’m a wife, married to my high school sweetheart, Ned. I have two wonderful kids – Katie, married to Kyle, and Ross, girlfriend is Valerie. Physically, I’m short and curvy with red hair and hazel green eyes. I used reading as an escape from a not so great childhood, and writing was a natural extension of that to me. I wrote down what I wanted my life to be like.

When and Why did you start to write?

I think I started writing when I was about 8. I couldn’t always stop by the school library, so I would reread books in my head and further the adventures or try a different ending. I just started writing them all down. It was a great way to escape.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

Renee Kennedy is a great friend and a fantastic author- contemporary New adult
Kris Hack – fabulous fantasy writer – Angels, Demons, romance
A. D. Ellis – she takes on contemporary life topics with humor, flair and honesty
Lexi Blake – She’s my one-click addiction. erotic romance at it’s best
Chelle Bliss – grabs the M/C crowd by the balls and takes you for a ride
Melanie James – her Accidental Leigh series is a high flying witchy hoot of a romance

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

I THINK I know where my story is going, but the characters and the dialogue twist and turn so much by the middle of the story, I’m just along for the ride!

What are you working on now?

Plus, I’ve been itching to get to a paranormal and I’m collaborating on a series with some of my favorite authors about Women of a Certain Age – an erotic adventure

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

I’m a bit of both. Like I stated earlier, I think I know where the story is going, then Boom! I’m off in another direction entirely!

#WOTR Author Spotlight – T.K. Carter

T.K. Carter

About the Author

My name is TK Carter, and I’m genetically geared to have a sarcastic wit, awkward one-liners, and laugh at inappropriate times. Fortunately for me, I can tap into this phenomenon and create characters who often do the same thing. I write contemporary humorous women’s fiction (Chick Lit), dramatic fiction, and Dystopian Suspense. I tease that this is a way to accommodate my mood swings, but it borderlines on being truth. I still have a full-time career in logistics for an agriculture corporation based out of Columbia, Missouri, so I write in between working and raising my two children – ages fourteen and almost twelve. Needless to say, my plate is a little full.

When and Why did you start to write?

I used to write as a pre-teen/teenager – horrible poetry mostly – but I set aside everything when I got married and started a family. When I got separated/divorced in 2008-2009, I realized I didn’t have anything to do outside of my family. No hobbies, no interests, nothing of my own. It was quite the vacant feeling. I was given a journal and a pen as encouragement, then one day I started writing and couldn’t stop. The voices have been humming ever since. LOL

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

Liz Schulte
Denise Grover Swank
Stephen King
Kristen Hannah
Jennifer Weiner
Pat Conroy – the man is pure genius
Wally Lamb

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

I never imagined it was possible to sit at a computer, completely disengage from life around me and get swept into a world in my own head. Okay, that’s not true. I never imagined I could do it while writing. 😉 When I’m writing, nothing around me exists. I ‘come to’ hours later with thousands of words written. I often tease that I need a decompression chamber outside my office so I can re-acclimate to life going on around me before speaking to anyone.

What are you working on now?

I’m working on two WIPs right now. (Writing cross-genre will do that to ya.) One is women’s fiction (mystery/drama), and the other is the third book in the dystopian suspense genre, The Yellow Flag Series. I haven’t released the titles or blurbs for these two novels yet, but they will be announced soon.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

I’m a pantser. I develop characters and a loose plot line but give the characters room to move/grow. As I get to know them, it’s easier to determine if what I’ve envisioned is true to character for them. If it’s not, I follow along behind them and see what they do. I had to learn how to plot more with my series and think more long-term, which was a huge challenge for me. But I still allow the characters to be who they are. In Collapse: Book One in the Yellow Flag Series, one of the characters did something so completely unexpected, it changed her whole story line and made for a much better book. I love it when that happens.
