#WOTR19 – #Review – Order of Malice (The Order Series Book 2) by Lisa Caviness

Order of Malice (The Order Series Book 2)

rmed with a new identity, Reid Patterson plans to join the FBI hoping to right the wrongs of The Order, a sinister faction controlled by his murderous, biological family. But Reid’s plans go awry when a young girl pleads for his help, bringing fresh threats, a beautiful woman, and a thrill-seeking boy. The countdown begins ticking toward a fiery contest of will and passion.

Foster care psychologist Holly Babson, dreams of a life where her escaped convict father and the memories of her sister’s horrific death are both locked away. While helping a runaway teen, death returns to her doorstep, revealing the teen’s connection to The Order. Holly’s life pivots as her past, her fears, and her heart are locked in vicious turmoil.

Denied a place in The Order, wealthy businessman Ivan Sinclair will stop at nothing to reclaim the top seat in his family’s insidious organization. A deadly game is his vehicle to amass even more power.

Reid and Holly’s worlds collide with the diabolical force of The Order, and Ivan’s cold-blooded plot. Together, they must fight for their lives while learning to trust their hearts.

Reader beware, you are about to be sucked into another insanely twisted game of the Order. You will not be able to put this book down until the very end. And once this story is finished……well you will have to see.

I love where this author’s mind is while writing these stories. The Order is like nothing I have ever read before. The Order has a reach much further than I expected. And the impact that the Order has on all the characters with the crazy and intense amount of planning that went into their shenanigans is incredible. It’s like the mafia on steroids! “…..a bunch of crazy people with blind allegiance to a deranged ideology.”

Reid (the new identity of Walker from the previous book) is surprised when a girl approaches him and claims to be his niece, Lila. Along with Lila we meet her best friend Cody and the social worker, Holly, that watches over Lila. What we find out is that each character, Reid, Lila, Cody, and Holly all have their own secrets. Everyone is dealing with a demon from their past and each in turn find out that they are all intertwined in the end. The Order has this group going on a crazy scavenger hunt to pick up the Order’s artifacts, ultimately to bring them back to the Grand Commander, the leader of the Order. The only problem with this is that there are several different players that think they are the leader. There is a huge power play going on and our group is right in the middle.

This story is so far from predictable. I got to the point where I didn’t even try to figure out what the next play was but to just let the story ride out. It is quite the thriller with intense twists but with a touch of love at the end of the day. The only problem is that when this ends…..there is more, so much more…..

Can’t wait to read the end of the series with The Order of Rage. I’m on pins and needles trying to figure out who will make it out on top and alive! A must read! Bravo, Lisa Caviness!!!

Goodreads

OH HELL!!! Here comes BOB!!! I can’t tell you which of this series is my favorite because they are all soooooo different but with the same flare for gore, sarcasm, wittiness, and a killer plot! Again, I feel a little more evil with each book I read from RK. Maybe I’m going to hell because I can not get enough of the twisted thoughts, bent sarcasm and the rollercoaster of gore. But it’s totally worth it! These are my people!

“Sowing the seeds of discontent, creating doubt, disarray and general mayhem.”

This sums up this story PERFECTLY!!!!

Ok enough with this. The story starts right where 4 leaves off. Shep returns but with quite a vengeance as he actually died in purgatory! WTH?! RIGHT?! But the kicker is that he found Andrea. He F’n found her! And now it is his mission to get her back. But when he found Andrea he met Bob. And get ready for Bob! He is one of my favorite characters in the story. Well, there is Rusty (the cat) too. And he is freaking hilarious!!!! If cats could talk, LOL! Shep is ready to form the escape plan for Andrea. He gets everyone on board and gets some major help from Bob. But Bob, he is super simple but not. I hope that makes sense because it makes perfect sense to me. The thing with Bob is that sometimes he acts a little too quick and doesn’t give or get the best direction. Because of this the crazy group travels to some outlandish new planes of existence. The story stays gory with all the sarcasm that we love but we do get to see some of the truer sides of Shep….and Andrea. “Every choice I’ve ever made was for me and me alone, to save my (behind) or get what I wanted. I’m a survivor, not a (f’n) hero.” Shep says this and I think this is true for a lot of people. And as with the rest of the True Death series, nothing is as it seems. When we finally get to Andrea is everything all rainbows and unicorns? You must read this to find out!!!!!!!

The thing about RK’s characters are that they are a lot like me in some way, shape or form. I CAN RELATE! I feel like I know them and I can’t wait to hate them, love them, and threaten some of their lives! I am looking forward to continuing this series. And if you haven’t read the beginning of the series yet….WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!!!!!

I was born high in the Andes and raised by a band of wandering gypsies. At the ripe old age of 7, I struck out on my own, dabbling in the arts of alchemy and personal financing. Neither of the trades paid off. At 13 I became the personal juggler for Stephen King, but alas, that didn’t last long either. Since then, I’ve wandered aimlessly through life and this planet, stopping along the way to help people and smite the wicked.

A little while ago I decided to try my hand at writing. I published The True Death series independently for The True Death and The Vengeful Death but was recently picked up and published by Love N Books.

#NewRelease – #Review – Bless Her Dead Heart: A Southern Paranormal Suspense Novel (The Righteous Book 1) by Meg Collett

Bless Her Dead Heart: A Southern Paranormal Suspense Novel (The Righteous Book 1)

The day Loey Grace Keene and her best friends condemned a man to death was the day she knew she’d never leave Righteous, Tennessee. Running her grandparents’ coffee shop and old farm distracts her from the sins of her past. ’Course, that’s until she discovers the town’s preacher impaled in the cemetery’s oldest tree.

There ain’t never been a storm in Righteous like there was the day Jeronimo James blew into town. He might be Blackmore Baptist’s new preacher, but Loey’s instincts warn her to stay away from his black eyes, cowboy swagger, and motorcycle. His arrival on the heels of a murder, plus his odd questions about salted graves and hallowed ground, lands him smack dab at the top of her suspect list.

Loey’s search for the killer uncovers the magic beneath Righteous’s ancient superstitions and a family secret that further binds her to the town. For centuries, the Keenes have kept Righteous’s threads knotted together, but something sinister is tattering the Seam.

Unless Loey can catch the otherworldly killer and embrace her calling as a Keene, the Seam between Righteous and a pocket world will be ripped forever, unleashing a hungry, vengeful creature onto the God-fearing folk of Righteous.

The Righteous Series is the twisted sweet tea of Southern paranormal suspense. Delve into a world of mysticism, where the lies run as thick as the accents and the superstitions are born of real and powerful mountain magic.

Goodreads

“Sometimes we have a little bit of devil in us, but most days, we have a whole lot of good and that should count for something.”

This is southern superstitions at it’s finest! Loey has lived in the town of Righteous her whole life being raised by her grandparents. They have all sorts of superstitions but for someone who has lived here their entire life you don’t think twice about them. She lives next to the cemetery and also helps take care of it. During a storm that comes out of nowhere she finds the pastor dead. Shortly after, Jeronimo James, the tall, dark, and handsome, stranger comes rolling into town and he is asking a lot of questions. She starts to question some of the superstitions that she more or less took for granted. This opens up a lot from the past. So many things are starting to fall into place and seem like she is getting answers but things are also so twisted with the magic that is all around that she finds things aren’t always as they seem. “Magic is like religion. No matter where you are in the world, religion exists in some way, …. Magic is similar. It’s interpretation changes depending on geography and culture.” Righteous is a southern religious town full of lies and sweet tea. Everyone puts a smile on their face and spins pretty lies but Loey is done with it. She wants the entire truth. She wants the truth for and from everyone. This is a thrilling, magical, twisted story that will keep you on your toes right to the very end. There are dark aspects of the book but not everything that is dark is paranormal. It’s super intriguing, thrilling and suspenseful. A definite page turner! But look out! What would be worse than the book ending? One heck of a cliffhanger! I am totally hooked on this series and completely invested. Bless Her Dead Heart is written beautifully! Can’t wait to continue the series!

#WOTR19 – #Review – Last Breath by Kerri Ann

Last Breath

Appearing on my doorstep, covered in the darkest blood and seeping death from their pores, I immediately knew they were dangerous men.
Though I wasn’t afraid; I was excited. Their beauty was in their madness. They were my release from this life.

As the only caregiver to my dementia-clouded, hateful grandmother, my life had become stagnant. There’s been no great love story, no fun, no excitement, and only a regimented routine to keep what’s left of my sanity intact.

Maybe sanity is overrated?

I dreamt of having that great love of a lifetime. I dreamt of more than this life. They’re showing me there’s more to this world.
That not all love is sweet.
I don’t need roses or sweet words.
Death I’ve found can be sweeter.

Salem and Malachi mean more to me than my next breath.

Goodreads

Oh holy…..I just don’t even know how to finish this sentence. It’s so dark and twisted, beautifully evil….SOUL TORTURING! I swear this author is a lunatic!!!! We start with Salem and Malachi. They run away to leave an evil behind that Salem was subject to. Salem the tinder and Malachi the match. These two thrive on each other. Dangerous, dark, thick, and absolutely sinister. These two are looking for a place to crash after one of their “indiscretions” with a murder. They run across Joy and her grandmother who has dementia. The guys more or less push themselves into Joy’s home but she doesn’t exactly make them leave. They are dark, mysterious, and intriguing. They all have something about them that they are all drawn to. They are pulled together like magnets, like gravity. They all feed off of each other’s darknesses. At first they murder or kill when there is a reason. The bad people that hurt others that run into this trio has hell to pay. Again, it starts off as more of a retribution type of thing but turns into something much darker and more sinister. These characters are CRAZY! But completely normal to each other. Their love for each other is undeniable, but again, lord help whoever crosses their path because they take their love to entire different level. There’s sex, gore, love, twists, gut punches, throat slices, torturing….it is a maddening mindfuck! Stop listening to me ramble and just go pick it up and read it….you won’t be sorry….or will you? Muwahahahahaha!!!

#NewRelease – #Review – Beacons in the End (The End Saga #3) by C.L. Zelle

Beacons in the End (The End Saga #3)

Book Three in the Post-Apocalyptic Dystopian Epic The End Saga.

I’m alive.
Gideon’s out there somewhere with Missy, looking for me. The monsters are evolving, but we are, too. We’ve come so far, survived the miraculous, defeated the evils that have tried to keep us from each other, and we’ll do it again.
We’re alive, and that’s a good start.
Strange, how finding each other in a dead world full of rabid predators with no cell service is the easy part. The hard part is what comes after. What will happen now that Gideon knows my truths? What will happen when he tells me his? Will we get our second chance? Will we have our happily ever after?
Things won’t be perfect when we reunite, we’ll have obstacles to overcome. But I believe in Gideon, I believe in us. We’ve found each other in this world twice before, and we will again. I just hope we can figure out what to do . . . next. To make things right again.

* * *

I won the first round, but this game isn’t over yet—it’s only just begun. There’s a stopwatch ticking somewhere, and the cool barrel of a nine against my temple says it’s go-time, there’s no backing down now.
It’s too quiet—as if somebody set the world on “peaceful” mode for a while. But I know better than to get too comfortable. There’s always been more to Vine’s games than meets the eye.
Time to level-up.
L1: Keep Missy safe
L2: Find Grace
L3: Protect the people I love
L4: Get that plane and get the f*ck out of Dodge
L5: Heal mankind
All in a day’s work on the Bright Side, right?

*****

This is the third book in The End Saga. This series will appeal to those who don’t mind some diverse adult content in their reading. Due to certain triggers, this series may not be suitable for everyone, and is advised for ages 18 and up.

Goodreads

“To know who you are now, you have to remember how you became.” THIS!!! This is the perfect line for this book! This is the perfect line for life! This series is EPIC! The author writes very passionately, heartfelt and super fierce. This isn’t a zombie book. This is so much more! Every emotion whether it is something funny, scary, amorous….every single emotion is felt down to your core. Oh the feels!!!! Be prepared because it is beautiful and gritty and pure raw! Intense just does not do this book…or the series….justice.

Both of our groups are now on the run. Both groups have taken on others to care for…a lot of children! Now they are racing for survival. Grace and Logan are with one group and Gideon is with the other group. Grace and Gideon are so in sync that they just know exactly how to send the beacon to each other. Here is your spoiler….yes, the groups find each other. But they don’t find each other without some crazy scary situations ahead of them. Grace and Gideon were made for each other but they both have indiscretions that they don’t think the other will forgive them for. Nothing is perfect but this is The End afterall. Does everything have to be the same as before. The monsters are evolving, why can’t they? “How do you choose the correct answers when there aren’t any?” The whole crew is faced with many obstacles with which most involve themselves. But every single character is complex, strong and beautifully flawed. All of the characters are finding themselves again and it is absolutely breathtaking watching it unfold. Oh and did I mention all the hawtness?!?! Cuz guess what?! It’s super sexy in all the right places!!! So buckle up biotches cuz it’s time for another wild ride!!!

Bravo CL Zelle!!!! You rocked this! P.S. This is at the top of my favorite series ever!!!!

C.L. Zelle

Christina L. Rozelle is the author of the bestselling YA Dystopian Scifi series, The Treemakers Trilogy, which includes her groundbreaking debut, “The Treemakers,” and its sequels, “The Soultakers,” and “The Seeker’s Keys.” Hailed for its strong, believable, and relatable characters, original and complex plotting, and phenomenal world-building, The Treemakers Trilogy appeals to lovers of dystopian literature who are looking for something refreshing and new.

Christina also writes adult post-apocalyptic dystopian under the nom de plume C.L. Zelle, with her first foray into the adult world, The End Saga (formerly The Night Blind Saga) releasing this year. Books one and two, “Willows in the End,” and, “Ravens in the End,” are now available, and book three, “Beacons in the End” releases Nov. 21, 2018. Proving to be quite the polarizing series, Rozelle shows her true prowess as a teller of tales with this no-holds-barred approach to a popular genre, showcasing her ability to evoke powerful emotions from her readers, be they positive or negative. She says, “as long as they’re thinking and feeling, my work here is done.”

When asked if she had plans to pull back on those wild reigns of her dark NA world, she just giggled, scrolling through her impressive backlog. Though she may not go any darker than this series, she says she’s created a lot of “wiggle room” between the YA world of The Treemakers, and the dark and taboo world of Grace and company, and she plans to fully employ every bit of that space (though, admittedly, she’s terrible at coloring inside the lines).

Rozelle’s writing roots sprouted with poetry and prose in countless journals in her early years, continuing through her tumultuous teenage years, and well into her turbulent young adult life. Though her younger self dreamed of scribing non-fiction and poetry someday, when she discovered the magic in creating fiction she never looked back. Overcoming countless obstacles of her own, the wisdom gained along her personal path through healing breathes life into her beautifully dark, yet hopeful tales of triumph. Filled with an array of emotional triggers, not many topics are off limits in her works. Rozelle’s exceptional storytelling dives deep into the survival and growth journeys of diverse, broken characters and unlikely heroes. Authentic, gritty, intricate, and wildly imaginative, her stories also offer hope–a light in the dark–as her characters discover their own inner strengths and worth in the midst of debilitating adversity.

Though her wanderlust calls her to a nomadic life of traveling the world in planes, trains, ships, and RVs, Christina currently resides in a small town in Texas, USA, with her four wonderful children and a bunch of furbabies, where she’s blessed to be able to do what she loves every day.

#WOTR19 – #Review – Order of Fear by Lisa Caviness

Order of Fear

Sometimes fear is all that keeps you alive.

Murder
A senior account, ballet dancer, and future bride, Marissa Nash likes order, and she expects all the pieces of her life to add up. Her bottom line is skewed after she discovers her fiancé has been unfaithful. When Marissa walks in to the unexpected—David dead and her dog, Halo, agitated and restless, she finds her nightmare is only beginning.

Passion
David’s unenthused best man and traumatized former Army doctor, Justin Tanner understands that a wedding means more than a toast and a kiss. His reluctance stems from feelings that run deeper than they should for the bride. But when he finds Marissa cradling his best friend’s lifeless body, can he find a way to suppress his feelings as they uncover David’s secret world?

Evil
The seemingly pointless murder launches Marissa and Justin into a wicked web of lies, delusion and danger at the hands of a powerful and psychotic foe.

Murder, passion, evil—who will survive?

Goodreads

5 very suspenseful stars! Oh. My. Wow! I don’t know why it took me so long to read this but holy hell I got hooked! This story is an incredible web woven with deceit, lies, loyalty, and passion. This is one of those books that starts out with a bang and and never stops until the very, very end. An absolute page turner!

First, Marissa….she is about to get married and is gone on a business trip. She is planning to call off her wedding to David when she returns because she found out he has been unfaithful to her. Things go awry and she is late coming home but when she does she finds David’s dead body in their home.

Second, Justin….the best man is super agitated with David as he hasn’t been able to reach him for days. He goes to the house to find Marissa cradling David’s dead body.

From here the story gets twisted!!!!! The two are being followed, an explosion happens and people are dying all around them. A coincidence? NOOOOOOO! Just keep going….Not everyone is who they seem but can you figure out who doesn’t belong? Nope! Not ‘til the end! This roller coaster of a story keeps you rooting for Marissa and Justin but then….do you? I was so back and forth with the idea of them and exactly how this was all going to pan out that I just couldn’t stop reading. And let me tell you about the bad guys. I don’t know what was going on in the author’s mind at the time of writing the antagonists but daaaaang are they bad! Written so good but soooo bad! The story is full of heightened emotions and ends up being very evil. Full of danger with the exact right amount of passion and love. An absolute must read!

#WOTR19 – #Review – Marked (Marked Series #3) by Elena M. Reyes

Marked (#3 Marked Series)

“With everything I am. I’ll always be by your side.”

It was his truth.

A vow Talan made to the woman who owned him. Because that is what Maya did to him, she held his entire life in her hands. He lived for her smile . . . her happiness.

And now someone has dimmed that light in her eyes with their malice.

Because if one thing was certain, it was that he breathed for her. It was her warmth and love that gave him a home—a purpose and desire for more.

But now that had been threatened. Maya was in pain and that for him was unbearable. His love for his Bitty has taken him past the breaking point and he’s determined to make those that hurt her pay. He wanted the blood of those that wronged her—almost took her away from him—on his hands.

It was his fault. A fault that he would right no matter what he had to go through.

How does a man so completely in love with his female react to seeing her broken in a hospital bed?

He fights. Goes against all logic and seeks vengeance.

Goodreads

I’ve been MARKED! The sheer intensity of the emotions that come from this entire series is incredible, but Marked is where it all combusts! I assume if you are reading this review you have read the rest of the series….and if you have not….well read them! Maya is in the hospital after the incident with Janice. Talan is a mess because of the Maya getting hurt and feels that it is all his fault. Both of them are hard headed and stubborn enough to make you want to smack em around and hug them at the same time. The feelings these two have for each other are extremely intense. A true and pure love. And the extended “family” of characters all play their part. Maya’s light has burned out. She has been reduced by what Janice has done. Maya and Talan are second guessing each other and words fly. Emotions are heightened and fireworks explode. They work through this together and with the fam. But then are blindsided when Luke (Janice’s doctor) shows up at their doorstep to discuss Janice’s situation with them. This is when we really see the doc’s true colors and possible feelings for his patient. This also puts Talan and Maya to the test as both of them realize that Janice has “issues”  but both also feel that she knew what she was doing. The spoiler that I will give is that Luke does ask Maya to attend a therapy session with Janice to talk about the incident. ***this is the only spoiler!*** And this brings a lot of the heavy to Maya’s and Talan’s relationship over the whether or not Maya decides to go or not. With that being said….you must read this to find out!

“…but it was your heart that stole mine. Please don’t ever return it; it’s yours. Just like you will always f**king be mine.”

“Hate was a powerful thing. Made humans macabre and cold. Deadly. My biggest fear was that he would become lost in the need to seek revenge and I lost him.”

“Like Heaven.

Like Hell.

Like my favorite kind of sin.”

These two have an incredible bond and being able to go on this emotional roller-coaster with them is amazing. But no worries…this book is full of witty banter and plenty of snark that makes us all laugh with the intense stuff that you may need some tissues for. What are you waiting for? Pick this up!

#WOTR19 – #Review – The Arbiter (Divinely Damned #1) by K.B. Everly and Brandy Slaven

#WOTR19 attending author BRANDY SLAVEN

The Arbiter (Divinely Damned, #1)

“She is too sinful to be Divine
and too righteous to be Damned.”

Nocturna; a hybrid, an all around smart ass, and the owner of The Apothecary, a night club for all the denizens that walk the earth to play amongst humans, is about to have her life altered by the Creator of all.

The last Arbiter has fallen and a new one must be chosen, one of both Divine and Damned blood. She will be both judge and executioner for the supernatural races, choosing how to punish or bless the souls brought before her.

Within her first week with her new status, Damned from all over are disappearing and disturbing videos of Damned being tortured and killed are surfacing. When Lord Monroe, one of The Infernal leaders of the Damned, becomes one of those who are missing, the Damned begin to point their fingers at The Rites; the Divine soldiers who are part of The Order of Abel. The clock is ticking, and it is her responsibility to find who is responsible and pass judgement. With the help of Enoch, an Infernal of the Damned, and Larkan, a Rite of the Order, Nocturna travels to Lord Monroe’s estate, hoping to find clues as to what happened to him and all the others.

Her integrity and her heart will be pushed and pulled in all directions as she faces the biggest dilemma of her existence; can she make the decision that is right for the lives of all, not the decision that is easiest for her. Will she stay true and lead the world into peace? Or will she choose sides like all the Arbiters before her and lead them all to destruction?

**This is a Reverse Harem Dark Romance that is recommended for ages 18+. There are elements of violence, such as torture and a body count, and steamy scenes that are sure to light you on fire. If you’re into that sort of thing, then boy do we have the book for you!

Goodreads

First, the cover of this book is amazing! Second, the premise of the story is incredible! Third, I can’t wait for the sequel!

“There’s always a fine line between everything. Love and hate. Cruelty and compassion. Pure and tainted. Light and dark. Most fail on either side of the spectrum within black or white, but none fall on that line that flows through the grey areas. No one is a perfect balance of all those things.”

This is what the Arbiter is supposed to be. Nocturna is a half breed. Half Divine and half Damned. There are very few halfies in the world and the Creator chooses one to be the Arbiter. The Arbiter is judge and jury over the Damned and Divine. Nocturna believes in a place that both beings can be themselves as long as nobody breaks the rules. She has created a sort of sanctuary for both within her club, The Apothecary. One eventful night and her world is rocked when she becomes the Arbiter. She finds that a past love and heartbreak, Enoch, is part of the Infernal who are the leaders of the Damned. She falls for Monroe, another leader of the Infernal. And has an incredible bond with Larkan, a Rite with the Divine. As they find out that Damned have been abducted and tortured they all find that they are part of the bigger picture and need to save these souls and stop the torturing. At the same time we are finding that not everyone on their team are loyal and their are traitors in the midst. Monroe ends up being captured, one of her dearest friends are abducted and her friend’s husband has been killed. Nocturna has to turn herself over to the bad guys in order to try and save the ones she love. And all the men in her life are going to be needed to keep her balanced between the Divine and the Damned.

This is a dark paranormal reverse harem story that is very intriguing. There is a lot going on within the big picture. It is dark and mysterious and is intense on the emotions evoked. It seemed to me like there was a lot of world building going on but some things were missed or rushed. Some of the characters were a little underdeveloped in my opinion. There was always just something out of reach. Overall though, I really enjoyed the story. There is a cliffhanger and I am anxiously awaiting the sequel to see how the story develops. It’s a wicked start to what I am sure will be an intense series!

#WOTR19 – #Review – Tray (Hell’s Harlem #2) by J.M. Walker

Tray (Hell's Harlem, #2)

Despair. Hunger. Pain. Need.
It started the moment she bumped into me.
Ecstasy. Danger. Seduction. Terror.
She was off-limits, but it didn’t stop me from wanting her.
My life was empty. My thoughts were dark. My heart was stone.
Feeling unwanted for most of my life, I didn’t know where I belonged or what my purpose was. He was all I had until she came along and brought out emotions I never knew were possible. She was innocent. Pure. Untouched. She was the daughter of a rival club member, but that didn’t stop us. It only heightened the desire, the passion we felt. We were happy…until someone she trusted made a move that no one saw coming…

Tray…..where have you been all my life?!?! And Zillah…..My new girl crush!!!!

These two! OMG! They should not be together but when you see something you can’t have it heightens the need that much more. I can’t say that they have a love at first sight type of relationship but more of an insta-attraction/lust that turns to an intense love type of relationship. He is a nomad that hangs with Hell’s Harlem. Tray is a loner and just doesn’t really belong anywhere. He happens upon Zillah when he goes to a shop ran by the president of a rival motorcycle club. Here him and Zillah run into each other and instantly need to be closer. This turns into quite the ordeal as they have to hide their blooming relationship. At the same time Tray is trying to salvage a relationship with his best friend Catch as he used Catch in a way that he can’t really take back. As Tray and Zillah’s relationship intensifies they find out that they have been being watched. Once this realization comes out, the sh*t hits the fan! The twist in this book had my jaw dropped open and gasping trying to get a grip on what was happening! No spoilers here but let me tell you that you won’t believe it until you read it!

“I hadn’t known Zillah for twenty-four hours and I couldn’t stop thinking about her. She was young, full of life, and everything I needed in my darkest hours. It didn’t make sense when I never believed in this instant attraction sh*t but there was something about her that I latched on to. And I knew she felt it just the same.”

“Tray had been on my mind since I met him the day before. When he touched my cheek. When he told me he wanted to f**k me. When he just looked at me. It was like he could see right into my soul. Right into a part of myself that had been dormant for so long. A part no one had ever revealed before, until him. I may have been a virgin but I knew I wanted more. I wanted him. I wanted everything. I was greedy. Hungry. And I didn’t know what for.”

This sinfully sexy book full of hotness and wtf’s will pull you in and keep a hold of you tightly right until the very end. I cannot wait for the next installment in Hell’s Harlem. I didn’t think anyone was going to outdo Greyson, but now I am Team Tray!!!!

#Review – Blood King: Revamping the Monarchy (The Heart Nebula Book 3) by Ava Cuvay

Blood King: Revamping the Monarchy (The Heart Nebula Book 3)

Dracula was an upstart nobody from an alien race of bloodsuckers… Kaz just met the planet’s King.

Kazandra Lyon’s failed life sucks. But her vacation to a popular destination-planet sucks on a whole new level when she’s abducted and whisked off to a dark castle mired in twilight. She struggles against the attacks of a bloodthirsty monster and her growing attraction to the sexy and mysterious vampire king. Amidst murdered palace staff, political power struggles, and the king’s blood-searing seduction, has Kaz bitten off too much? Will she return to the unhappy safety of her failed life or stick her neck out and embrace a future with the lusty king who thirsts for her?
Away from his homeworld for far too long, King Rune Lahdunae’s political influence has weakened and his vision for his people is now a relic from a bygone era. He struggles to regain his royal standing as monarch, resurrect his race’s proud heritage, and keep his randy fangs off his beautiful guest. Yet Kazandra’s spirit and humor arouses a hunger in him more primal than the need for her life-giving blood. Can he entice her to remain as his honored guest… and possibly his wife? And can he thwart the relentless killer who is drinking his people dry before Kazandra becomes the next victim?

“Blood King: Revamping the Monarchy” is Book 3 in The Heart Nebula Series. Like it’s interstellar namesake, The Heart Nebula Series is a loosely-connected cluster of stand-alone Romantic Sci-fi stories with sassy heroines, gutsy heroes, passion and adventures set in a galaxy far, far away. In essence, it’s the stuff of stars.

We have all been at a point in our life where we just need to get away from it all. Kaz decides to go to a popular destination-planet to relax and unwind. This place just sucks! Literally and figuratively. She is at a spring break type of place and she is kidnapped and taken to the other side of the planet that no one goes to just for fun. She is placed in the dungeon and is fed on by a monster. She is finally freed by King Rune and his way of apologizing is to have her spend her vacation at his palace. Rune has been brought back to life after 1000 years of being gone to find that his home has been run into the ground. He has yet to figure out exactly why he has been brought back and is struggling a lot with getting the monarchy back under control, dealing with murders in the palace, falling for Kaz and the fact that he is hiding exactly who he is to her. With all of this going on, Kaz is being herself, everyone loves her, and she is falling in love with Rune. The two of them have a lot of inner conflict within themselves and are so different from the other. But opposites attract and the two of the complement each other so well. The only thing is that they both have to be honest with each other and once the honesty is let out will they be able to be together? There is a ton of craziness happening at the palace when Rune hosts a ball of sorts. There is a death and kidnapping. Kaz finds herself in the middle of another mess and when the bad guy is figured out…..well lets just say oh holy hell because I so didn’t see this coming. I knew there was something fishy going on but when the twist unravels, it’s epic!!!! Blood King pulls you into the story and is the type of story that will constantly have you trying to guess what the hell is going on. And when the bread crumbs finally fell into place I was speechless! The sexy king will have you rooting for him and seeing how Kaz’s wittiness and no nonsense attitude brings him out of his shell will make you fall in love with this story. Well done, Ava Cuvay! Bravo!!!!
