#REVIEW – Logan Kade by Tijan

You think you know me?
Manwhore. Partier. Fighter.
You know what? You’re right. I’m all those things. F*ck with mine and I’ll f*ck you ten times harder. Suspensions. Arrests. You think I care?

So yeah, I may fit the bad boy image, but there’s so much more you don’t know.

I’m loyal to a damned fault. I’ll never leave your side. The real Logan Kade isn’t a manwhore. When I love, I love hard and completely.

Taylor saw that side of me. Inside of me. She saw my darkness and pain, and the second she did, she owned me.

You may think you know me…
…but she’s the only one who sees me.

**Standalone for new readers, but does fit in the Fallen Crest Series between Fallen Crest University and Fallen Crest Home.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

Holy crap on a cracker. I don’t even know where to begin! This book consumed me. From beginning to end, I was in love with all things Logan Kade. He’s been a favourite since the very first book in the Fallen Crest series but now that I got inside his head, he’s my number one.

Taylor Bruce reminds me of Sam so much. She’s strong, determined but broken and shattered in side. She loves with all of her, every single inch. She had a difficult past after being witness to a tragedy but she doesn’t let that get in the way of her loving hard and fierce. When she first stands beside Sam’s side, ready to fight, I knew she would be one of my favourite heroines. Tijan knows how to create a strong female, one we can all relate to. And while I may not be in college and a little older than these characters, they’ve become a part of me and my life. Every now and again, I’ll think of them and I know when the last book comes, I’ll be back to starting from the beginning. I will never get enough of these characters, this family.

Logan Kade is what I expected and more. Near the ending, my heart was breaking but I understood. I didn’t like it but I got it. I’m just glad that he finally pulled his crap together and went for his last girl. We’ve all seen his story, getting snippits here and there. He put on a good front with the women and alcohol but finding out about the real him, that’s what I enjoyed most. His humor, his quick wit and his sexiness, oozed off of the pages.

Taylor and Logan, along with Sam and Mason, are two of my favourite couples in romance.

Thank you Tijan for bringing us into this world.

Now onto Fallen Crest Home.

xx

#REVIEW – Fallen Crest Christmas by Tijan

This is a very very short novella consisting of one scene that has three parts, and an additional bonus scene. This was written to be a FREE gift to any Fallen Crest readers! And with that said, Happy Holidays from Tijan.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

Although this story is super short, I find it necessary to read right after Fallen Crest University as there is some interaction between Sam and her mother. Also, if you’re like me, you’ll read anything Tijan publishes anyway.

This little novella takes place right after Fallen Crest University. Sam’s mother is back and wants to make everything right by her but of course, our Sam is leery as anyone would be in her situation. Mason and Logan are there for as always while she questions the return of her mother.

We also see a sneak peak into the next book, Logan Kade, and trust me when I say this, his story will be one I will never forget.

#REVIEW – Truth Revealed (Confession Duet, #2) by K.D. Robichaux

Blurb:

It’s been a decade since I divorced the love of my life, after her confession while I was deployed. Ten years since I spoke to Vi, my soul mate, the girl who had brought me to life only to stab me in the heart, sending me into an even darker state than where I was before I met her. Ten years, I’ve been watching her from afar, keeping tabs. After a decade in the Army, two Purple Hearts and a Medal of Honor under my belt, I was kicked out with an honorable discharge, knowing no other skill than One Shot One Kill. Two years later, I’m part of a group of mercenaries who carry out justice. Criminals who hide behind their fancy lawyers and power—we take care of them and make it all look like karma. And with intel from our founder, Dr. Walker, a therapist with a long list of predators whose victims were too scared to turn them in, work is plenty and fulfilling. Until Vi begins her sessions and I discover the reality I’ve lived the past ten years was nothing but a lie, when the truth is revealed.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

*sigh*

Where do I even begin? These stories are something else. I don’t usually get emotional while reading books but something about this duet, struck a chord with me. Truth Revealed is the second in this intense delicious duet and man oh man does it pack a punch.

K.D. delves deep into the BDSM lifestyle as a way for Liv to heal after a tragic incident in book 1. Her story breaks my heart. And the healing process even more so. The reasons why she did what she did to protect the love of her life, made perfect sense. I won’t give it away. You need to read this story. 😉

After Corbin ends things with Liv, it never really ended. He watches her, makes sure to keep her safe and so on without her knowing. He’s protective of her and does anything to keep harm away from her.

Corbin runs a “security” type company with a couple other guys and I have to say that I really really need to know more about the other men in his life. His brothers, his friends, I need their stories.

I loved Dr. Walker as a side character and I’m itching for his book. Fingers crossed he gets one.

One of my favourite scenes is at the end of the book when Corbin reveals himself to Liv. It was heartbreaking and intense. For both he and Liv.

This duet is definitely my favourite of 2017 so far and I can’t wait to read more from KD.

#REVIEW – Fallen Crest University (Fallen Crest Series Book 5) by Tijan

Fallen Crest is back with a vengeance!

Samantha, Mason, and Logan are all together and united with one common enemy: Park Sebastian, the king of fraternity douchebags.

With professional football scouts eyeing his every move, Mason Kade has to walk the line for the first time in his life. Any move he makes against Sebastian has to be perfect and under the radar. One mistake, and his career is over.

Sebastian has other plans. Mason’s career isn’t his target—not even close. Wanting to destroy Mason completely, Sebastian knows he must hit him where it hurts the most: Samantha, who doesn’t give a rat’s ass that she’s the target.

Sam is bound and determined to protect Mason herself, no matter the cost, but what if the cost is beyond her imagination? What if this time, the villain wins?

Twinise Jo’s Review:

Every time I read a book in this series, I fall more in love with these characters.

This book is the 5th in the Fallen Crest series and man, is it a doozy. All of the drama that these people go through makes me want to hug them even more. I often wonder to myself while reading these books is if this trio would let me into their little circle. Yes, I’m that type of reader. Lol!

Sam, Logan and Mason all try and protect each other from someone who is threatening to ruin them. Of course when it comes to Mason, the only way to destroy him is through Logan or Sam.

At one point, I wasn’t sure if Mason and Sam would be able to move past the lies and heartache that is caused. Both of them trying to protect each other causes a strain on their relationship and when Mason gets upset, it makes me nervous. Tijan has a way with words and forcing you to feel the emotions that the characters go through.

One of my favourite things about this series is the loyalty Mason, Logan and Sam have to each other. I also love how strong Sam is with and without Mason. She is my favourite heroine out of any book I have ever read and I’ll be sad to see their story finish. But I get it…I just don’t have to like it. Lol!

I do suggest reading this series from the beginning but trust me, it will be worth it.

Tijan never disappoints and I can wait to read the rest of this series!!

#WOTR #COVERREVEAL – Numb (King’s Harlots, #4) by J.M. Walker

He doesn’t remember.

In the beginning, women and alcohol were one in the same. Until he met her.

The pain and heartache he caused her died when he was shot and fell into a coma.

She hates him.

Every fiber of her being loathes the man she fell in love with but she can’t control her heart and wants him just the same.

When Dale Michaels finally wakes up, she realizes they need to end this once and for all, before it destroys them both.

When an unexpected source rips through what they’ve worked hard to maintain, only then do they realize the full potential of their love.

#REVIEW – Four Crows by Lily White

“You’ll have to forgive me, Darlin’, for all the unforgiveable things I’m about to do…”

Loyalty is never easy – especially when you’re forced to choose between family and the man you would do anything to possess…

Born into a world that no child should endure, Magpie “Maggie” Crow is doted on by her loving father and over protective brothers. As much as she loves them, she fears them, especially when she learns secrets they’ve kept hidden.

Elliot McLaughlin joined the U.S. Marine Corps right out of high school to provide for his wife and son. He’d never intended to become a father so young, but was willing to do what it took to give his family everything they needed.

After Elliot’s family goes missing, he returns from war to an empty home. Obsessed with discovering who took his family, he investigates their disappearance and plots his revenge.

Passion brings Maggie and Elliot together. Obsession pushes them apart. As a bitter battle begins between Elliot and the Crows, Maggie’s heart hangs in the balance.

**Disclaimer: This book is intended for audiences 18 years of age or older. The subject matter of this book discusses sensitive topics that may be a trigger for some readers.**

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author for review and critique.

I’m a huge fan of Lily and her writing but this book blew me out of the water. It gave me all the feels and left me begging for more all throughout the book. I couldn’t read each page fast enough to find out what happened next. Although this book has a love story in it, the dark and twisted side of Lily’s writing is smack dab in the middle and it makes me love it even more.

Lily takes us on a wild ride filled with love, desperation and revenge.

Without giving too much away because honestly, you should just read this book and experience it for your self, I’ll say that Elliott and Maggie are two of my favourite characters out of Lily’s books. Elliott is broken, looking to seek revenge to those who wronged him. And Maggie? Poor poor Maggie. She’s caught in the middle of a very dangerous and twisted game.

I can’t say enough on how much I loved this story. I can’t wait for more from Lily.

I give this book a million dark delicious stars.

#REVIEW – Before the Lie by KD Robichaux

It was love at first sight.
Not just for me, but for Corbin as well.
Our eyes locked across the room, and that was all she wrote.
But we didn’t rush things.
We wanted to do it right.
After all, we would spend the rest of our lives together.
The love of my life.
My soul mate.
He was the intense and fiercely protective soldier,
and I was his doting and faithful lover.
I found my happily ever after.
This was our story…
Before the Lie

Note: This story is not suitable for persons under the age of 18.
*Potential triggers lie within this book

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

First thing I have to say is that I NEED the next book. STAT! This boo…wow. I really had no idea what I was getting into and that was fine with me. I read the blurb but I liked that it didn’t give a lot away.

Corbin Lowe. Military boy who had a difficult past and has a darkness to him that I really can’t wait to see more of. Alpha. Tattoos. Bad boy. Military. Enough said.

Vivian Brown is an innocent girl and while she may be timid and shy, there is definitely a sass to her that Corbin can’t get enough of. I found while reading about Vi and when she truly opens up, it brought me back to highschool and how shy I was. I could relate and I really like that in a heroine. She’s strong but also knows when she needs a strong man to protect her.

The chemistry between Vi and Corbin is off the charts. While this is the first book I’ve read by KD, it won’t be the last. KD pulls you in with her words and while you think everything is fine and cozy, she rips that blanket right out from under you and yells “JUST KIDDING”. I love it. Makes my dark heart a very very happy heart.

I’m so excited for the next book and I can’t wait to see where KD takes this story. So many things could happen but right now I really want to see Corbin’s darkness come to light. Things need to happen. People need to get theirs. And I need the second book in my hands already.

#Review – Echo (Black Lotus #2) by E.K. Blair

41TrHbiBsHL

The highly anticipated follow-up to Bang. Echo is the second book in the Black Lotus series.

It’s been said the longest echo ever measured lasted 75 seconds, but I can assure you, this will last much longer. The bang deafened the world around me, muting everything into nullity, allowing the reflection of its destruction to live far beyond its intended life.

It will follow me forever, destroying me–destroying you.

You want answers?

So do I.

Jo’s Review

I went into this book fearful that it would gut me. Ended it satisfied that it did.

This is the second book in the Black Lotus series and man oh man can EK Blair write a story. It left me wanting more, aching for each word, reading as fast as I could to find out what happens next. But also nervous that I would miss something. Maybe I was reading too fast. But I didn’t. Every word. Every chapter. Every single page, I breathed in. I love the way EK writes. I can’t quite explain it but I feel like she’s talking to me. Although I haven’t met her in person (yet), I can almost hear her telling me the story.

There is just something about this trilogy. It opens up that darkness inside of you, leaving you wondering if maybe you’re a little dark too. Maybe you can relate to the characters. Maybe this book speaks so loudly to you, that it scares you.

The story line in this book falls right after Bang, which I really enjoyed. I’ve been reading this one right after the other so I can still feel what’s going on and not forget. Although with this series, I don’t think I’ll ever forget what these first two books have done to me. I won’t look at a dark book the same again.

EK Blair, you are truly amazing and have a way of showcasing the pain, heartache, utter sorrow, happiness and of course more in the words you write. I could feel the emotions dripping off the pages. My heart hurt for these characters in a way no other book has ever been able to do.

I now sit here, wondering what lays in store for me when I read Hush. But a part of me doesn’t want this dark torturous ride to end. So for that, I thank you.

#REVIEW – Bang (Black Lotus #1) by E.K. Blair

41OtKAPd9xL

“BANG is one of the most talked about books of 2014, quickly earning E.K. Blair acclaim for her ability to weave a dark, twisted tale of revenge that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the last word.”

They say when you take revenge against another you lose a part of your innocence.
But I’m not innocent.
I haven’t been for a very long time.
My innocence was stolen from me. Taken was the life I was supposed to have. The soul I was born with. The ruby heart embedded in a life full of hopes and dreams.

Gone.
Vanished.

I never even had a choice.
I mourn that life. Mourn the what-ifs.
Until now.
I’m ready to take back what was always meant to be mine.

But every plan has a fatal flaw. Sometimes it’s the heart.

Jo’s Review:

I’ve been wanting to read this series for awhile and decided I was going to read them after my current binge on another authors books. But after reading some one-star reviews on this book, it jumped to a must read now moment.

This book…where do I even begin? EK has a way of twisting words, making you feel every letter. I’m left reeling. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading until I was done.

Everything that happens in this book, leaves you wanting and craving the next moment. The next scene which makes you question on if that actually happened.

Each character plays a huge part in the story. Man oh man, the feels I have right now. From the very first word, I was stressed, knowing something intense was about to happen.

The story lines weave together in a web of mastery and skill, forcing you to experience it all.

Pain. Heartache. Deceit. Lies. So many lies.

Some of the scenes were hard to read and I found myself needing a moment. Taking a breath so I wouldn’t lose it.

EK’s words seduce you into wondering what if it were you? What if you were so desperate to find happiness, that you would do anything to get it? What if, after all of this, that happiness never came and you only end up destroying yourself and those around you.
