Blaze (The Protectors, #10)

Haunted by a past he’s struggling to forget, Blaze once again finds himself a VC Warrior—something he swore would never happen. Confident he could easily walk away again, his connection to a certain redhead makes that decision harder than he imagined.

Trying to fit into the Warrior world, Katrina holds a secret that could ruin the new life she is fighting to fit into. And having feelings for a certain Warrior does not make things any easier.

As Blaze’s past catches up to him and Katrina’s secret is exposed, they discover a deep bond that neither can fight. It soon becomes clear that a past can be put to rest, but secrets can be deadly.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh Teresa…how do you do it!!  You hit every single book out of the park. Each book brings it and each book delivers!!  Each book makes you really HATE the Villain and fall madly in love with the Warrior….but don’t tell Jared ok.  He gets all jealous when he sees me checking out his brothers.  Alpha’s what can you do?  Just love ‘em extra hard I guess.

Blaze and Katrina.  They steamed up the last book with their agonizing chemistry.  I mean come on people!  WE all SAW the attraction.  At the end of the last book, when he brought her the dog…sigh…..so I was so ready for this book.  I was so ready to see them and wonder who would be fighting it harder…..WELL OF COURSE the Warrior was!!

Blaze has a past and he won’t face it.  This past caused Caroline and Jax some issues with Blaze because his past was haunting Caroline.  The whole “Talking to the dead” can really wear on a girl!!

Katrina was hiding some really big secrets!!  LIKE HUGE!!!!  We find out her story and man Teresa you really out did yourself with the bad guy.  I felt dirty every scene he was in.  Then finding out what Katrina saw and what she has to endure while under her “fathers” care…shivers….

The chemistry between the two is super hawt.  When they finally get started Katrina says the 3 dreaded words that every commitment phobic man dreads and he freaks.  So she makes her peace with them not being together but good old Jared lights her fire again when he shares some news in regard to Blaze and his feelings toward her.  I love Jared..sigh….yes babe I am typing about you..rolls eyes!!

Blaze must face his face in past order to make things right with Katrina all while hiding her from her father and her past.  Katrina must face her father and her past in order to save her possible future with Blaze.

Each book, Steve takes the cake for cracking jokes.  Each book Sid and Jared rile up the newest warrior to fall.  Each book we meet a new hottie and Ronan is nooooo slouch to think about….again relax Jared….stop reading over my shoulder already…it’s a joke….SHESH!!  Warriors.  You can’t live with them and you can’t live without them!!

Teresa Gabelman is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the ‘Protectors Series’. When not writing about sexy alpha vampires and the women who drive them crazy she can be found on a lake with a fishing pole/Kindle, at a MMA event or spending a fun evening with family.

Being a full-time writer has allowed Teresa to connect more with readers which is what she loves most about writing. If you find the time she would love to hear from you!

#Review – Devour (Death & Decay #1) by R.L. Blalock

Devour (Death & Decay #1)

St. Louis is falling to pieces. In the midst of rioting, a dangerous new disease has sprung pushing an already dire situation over the edge. Those who are infected suddenly become extremely aggressive, attacking and even eating those around them. And Olivia “Liv” Bennett is caught right in the middle of it.

Liv’s hectic life of school, work, and motherhood grind to a halt as the city around her begins to devour itself. Forced to flee from her car with nothing but a diaper bag and her eighteen-month-old daughter, Elli. Liv must trek forty miles on foot across the feral infested suburbs of St. Louis to a safe haven that may not even be safe.

What other hope does she have?

As her world begins to crumble, Liv is left clinging to the hope that Slag Stead, a two hundred and fifty acres, self-sufficient farm, remains a beacon of light and not another slaughter. But getting there just might kill her.

Goodreads

The beginning lines of this story will devour you… sucks you right in. This story starts 5 days before zombies start taking over. There have been riots all over the city. Liv is on her way home with her young daughter, Ellie, when traffic just stops. Then all hell breaks loose. She finds herself right in the middle of a zombie uprising. She takes off on the fight of her life. She finds quickly that communications are starting to go down and things are getting crazier by the minute. The story walks you through all of Liv’s journey for 5 days. She is struggling to try and keep her and her daughter alive. She finds new allies and friends but continually experiences loss and heartache. I cannot give spoilers but the end is one to die for. Such a crazy ride!

#WOTR #Spotlight – Drew Elyse @drewelyseauthor

Drew Elyse

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Hi! I’m Drew Elyse.
I’m a proud nerd. My obsessions include Disney, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Firefly, X-Men, and I’m realizing now I should stop this list because it will go on for a very long time.
Literature and music are my passions, and I studied both in college.
I’m a crazy hockey fan–GO Blackhawks!
I’m proud to be from Sweet Home Chicago.
As for my books, I currently write contemporary romance. Mostly, that’s focusing on the Savage Disciples MC. I just love some hot, alpha, dirty-talking bikers.

When and Why did you start to write?

I’ve always written. Even when I was a kid, I wrote (and illustrated, though I stopped doing that part because I cannot draw) books. Being an author was one of the only jobs I ever considered from the time I was old enough to understand what a job was. I never wanted to be a teacher or a firefighter. I wanted to write.
I guess the “why” of my writing is that I can’t help it. Stories and characters just come to me. I could never write them down, but it would drive me crazy.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

I want to be helpful here, but I’m going to be a bad person and skip this question because there are so many amazing names that come to mind that I would never stop!

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

The most surprising thing for me over the years had been realizing that other people’s minds aren’t constantly occupied by fictional people. Since it’s always been something I’ve done, the craziness of it doesn’t really stand out to me. Writing has been so much a part of who I am for as far back as I can remember. So, when people say things like “I just don’t know how you come up with this?” or they ask where I got an idea or something similar. For me, this is always a bizarre moment because I don’t DO anything. The ideas, the scenes, the characters just show up in my head. In a lot of ways, writing isn’t really a process for me at all. The idea shows up in my head one day, and I write it down. It’s not always an easy to get the words just right, but it’s kind of simple at its core.

What are you working on now?

Right now, I’m making sure Ignite (Savage Disciples MC #4) is all ready to be released into the world. I’m also working on the next book in the series, Daz’s Story (title TBA).
As always, I have a variety of other projects in the works in the background, but I like to keep those quiet until I have something to announce.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

Panster. All day, every day. I don’t plot. I’ve attempted it once or twice to see if it would be helpful, and I ended up throwing the whole the away. I just start with whatever scene or concept came to me, fully develop the characters in my head until I know them as well as my best friend (who I really do know just freakishly well), then I start writing right at the beginning of their story. I write in order all the way through, so the plot develops as I get there.

#Review – Right Now (Nicki Sosebee, #4) by Jade C. Jamison

Right Now (Nicki Sosebee Series Book 4) (A Nicki Sosebee Novel) by [Jamison, Jade C.]

synopsis

Nicki is becoming a better reporter, so much so that her boss Neal leans on her more and more to get the good stuff. So when a rash of robberies hits the downtown Winchester area, Nicki is reporting the damage…and probably getting a little too close for the bad guys’ comfort. As if that weren’t enough, Nicki finds herself in a full-fledged love triangle between Jesse and Sean…and she can’t bear to choose between them.

Nicki Sosebee is a strong woman who’s not afraid to go after what she wants, whether it’s a man or a story. She’s tough and her mouth shows it. She’s a free spirit and feels no need to apologize for who she is or what she believes in. RIGHT NOW is #4 in the Nicki Sosebee series.

Warning: Not for the faint of heart! This book contains explicit sex and naughty language. Proceed with caution…if you dare.

Oh my goodness this series is so addictive between waiting to find out what Nicki’s next assignment will be and what obstacles she will have to overcome and figuring out this love triangle between her, Jessie and Sean I am HOOKED!

Jessie and Nicki have broken up now Nicki is trying to get her mind off Jessie as well as Sean. She finds it hard to resist Matt the 18 year old busboy. Matt makes Nicki feel young again taking her mind off her 30th birthday, Jessie and Sean.  She also received her next assignment the town has been seeing several stores being broken into but not much being stolen.

I know who I want Nicki with but I loved the ending of this one. The twist was just great. I need to start the next one to see where Nicki leads me next.

about the author

Jade C. Jamison was born and raised in Colorado and has decided she likes it enough to stay forever. Jade’s day job is teaching Creative Writing, but teaching doesn’t stop her from doing a little writing herself.

Unfortunately, there’s no one genre that quite fits her writing. Her work has been labeled romance, erotica, suspense, and women’s fiction, and the latter is probably the safest and closest description. But you’ll see that her writing doesn’t quite fit any of those genres.

You’ll have to discover Jade’s writing for yourself to decide if you like it.

#Review #CompleteSeries #Serials – Heat by Jade C. Jamison

Heat - Complete Series

Rachel Donahue’s dream job as a financial advisor makes her all work and no play.  In fact, her only luxury is her weekly visit to the spa.  But her regular masseuse is on leave due to a skiing accident and his stand in, a guy who goes by the moniker “Spike,” is off-the-charts hot, exuding the most irresistibly sexy vibes Rachel’s ever been drawn to—reminding her that she’s a woman with needs.  How the hell can she relax like she’s supposed to when he’ll be touching her bare flesh?

She can’t…and he knows it.

One thing leads to another and she experiences her first “happy ending” massage.  She’s horrified and embarrassed, and her only salvation is that he’s not her usual masseuse.  She decides she won’t go back to the spa until her regular guy returns.  Except the next day at work, Rachel’s last appointment of the morning is a new client, Sergio Romano…a guy whose career name happens to be Spike Steel.  And the temperature has only just begun to rise…

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I-Che-Mama…this book!!!  Ok so if you haven’t read Finger Bang my first question is WHY!!  But anyway, we meet Rachel in there.  She is a riot and so I was super excited to read her surprise book from Jade.  Rachel is Blaze’s sister if you HAVE read Finger Bang.

SO Rachel is Miss Organized and On-Track-For-Success.  She is busy with her career to really notice men or give them the time of day.  When a fluke sends her scheduled life into chaos she is so confused at Spike/Sergio’s appearance into her life.

Sergio/Spike is stunned by Rachel’s intelligence and sexuality.  She is sweet but smart.  She is feisty but a soft gushy pile of goo with him.  He was excited to meet her but shocked when he met her the night before their business meeting.

This book is HAWT…I mean Fan yourself hawt from the first opening scene all the way through until the finale page.  The chemistry is OF THE CHARTS!!  I mean Jade writes steamy stuff but this might just be her steamiest yet!!!  I gotta say, I loved this serial but to be honest, I would have LOVED more from them because they have a great story line.  I loved the banter and I especially loved Rachel trying to deny their chemistry.

For years, Jade C. Jamison tried really hard to write what she thought was more “literary” fiction, but she found herself compelled to write what you read by her today–sometimes gritty, raw, realistic stories and other times humorous, light tales–but most of the stories she writes revolve around relationships and characters finding their way through life. While she doesn’t confine herself to just one genre, nor is there a nice neat label for what she writes, most of her work could be called erotic romance. Her main writing passions include rock star romance, romantic comedy, and romantic suspense.

She lives in Colorado with her husband and four children.

What’s a girl to do she has been in love with her best friend for years but he has stuck her in the “friend zone.” Now she is starting to notice his best friend and see him as something more. Will he be the one that makes her forget about the one she loves?

So in the past books I was day dreaming and drooling all over Sean but Jessie stepped up his game and is giving Sean a run for his money in the BBF department. I can see Jade is going to keep me bouncing from guy to guy in this series.

This is about Jessie and Vicki relationship but that is not all. There is a rapist on the streets of this quiet town. There is suspense and twist in this one. I enjoyed Nicki and Jessie’s time together he really cares for her and is afraid she will break his heart. He is caring and concerned for her and her safety as always the first one there in time of trouble.  Now Sean made me so angry with him this time around. He was an A$$ didn’t realize what he had until it was gone tried to make a play for it just to see if he could get it even if he didn’t know if he really wanted it. UGH what game are you playing you don’t want it but you try to make it so no one else can either.

I need to start book four ASAP I need to find out what happens in the next Nicki assignment and with her and Jessie.

Kiley Endicott has never been a poster child for moderation. Married and widowed young, she’s raising twins on her own. Since impulse has always ruled her life, it’s not easy being a sedate parent under the critically watchful eye of her family.

She says nobody can know. Okay, he’s trained in stealth. He sets up a call system, a taboo frequency, guaranteeing her twenty four hour access in every way. But he’s not just waiting for their secret meets. He’s planning a siege.

EXCERPT

“Maybe we can help each other,” she said looking up at him. He didn’t know what she had in mind but listened to find out.

“I’m a single mom. I don’t have a steady man because I don’t want one hanging around my two kids who are right now with my mom. She doesn’t babysit often and aside from Marcie, I don’t leave them with anyone else. I have a full-time life that includes a job and no time for a relationship. ”

“And?” He squeezed her shoulders, urging her to make an offer he wasn’t going to refuse regardless of what it was.

“And—I have certain biological needs I’d like to satisfy with something other than plastic.” She closed her eyes, her blush denying the intimacies they’d just enjoyed at the same time her hand stroked his thigh, promising more.

“Well as to those biological needs—seems like we can find a way to get them satisfied. When you’ve got the time, I’ll find the place.” He pulled up next to her car and put the truck in park, idling in front of her sister’s house, waiting for Kiley’s answer.

When she remained mute, he decided coaxing was in order.  “You do the calling,” he said, switching on his truck’s overhead light to search in the glove compartment for paper.

“I’d just as soon the whole town not know we’re carrying on,” Kiley murmured, her blush turning her pink cheeks to ruby.

“Carrying on?” After the uninhibited fucking they’d just engaged in, her old-fashioned description made him smile.

His quick rummaging turned up no paper, so before shutting off the overhead light, he held her hand and wrote his number on her palm. “If you change your mind and don’t call, it’s okay. I’ll not bother you. If you do call, I’ve marked your number a TF.”

“TF?”

“That’s military speak for taboo frequency—a contact too important to miss. You call when you’re able to get free and I’ll make sure we get together.”

He let her get half out the door before he added his last addendum to their deal.  “As to the plastic, you might want to bring it along for a ride or two. No sense in letting it feel neglected.” He liked a little variety in the sheets and he figured he’d let her know up front, he wasn’t all vanilla. He had a feeling neither was she.

Review by Jordan

ARC for an honest review.

Poppy was witty and entertaining. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the story from Heath and Poppy’s unconventional first meeting to the surprise ending. The two characters come across with strong personalities and continuously fight to control the story’s progression. There was no way of knowing what direction this story would take with all of its twists and turns that kept me on my toes to the very last page. The whole story felt real. I could visualize it as if I were watching a movie. I don’t think I will be forgetting Heath or Poppy anytime soon. It was a great story with an unbelievable ending!

I have a new one coming out, March 16, 2017. It’s an action/adventure romance. Here’s the blurb:

“I’m not an addict!” Rock Star legend, Wild’s life is falling apart. The problem with fame and fortune is that you can’t trust anyone. They’re all stalkers! He fantasizes about finding his Elevator Girl—that kiss! He’d love to run into her again, but he didn’t even get her name. Life is full of regrets.
Living a life so immersed in the world of reading and writing romance can be dangerous for a young woman, like the night Poppy Talbot allowed herself to believe in the happy endings all those romance novels promise. First Kiss, the guy she’s been dreaming about for seven years, amazingly stumbles into her life again, proving that fantasies can come true, something she thought would be great . . . except that fantasies don’t break your heart.

My last project, Wet, was a genre jump for me.

My first, Jungle: The Whispering Ruins is a Young Adult, Action and Adventure-Sword and Sorcery story.

Wet, named for the tropical and scuba diving setting, is the journey of 2 broken people. Paul and Rhees unwittingly find that what’s damaged in the other, somehow has the power to heal what troubles their own souls.

I am touched to see the great reviews. Keep them coming, please. Wet is a 3 part series and is not a standalone–sorry. I know some people hate sequels but I never intended this story to grow to the proportions that it did, it just took on a life of it’s own.

Now that all the Wets are out, I’ve been working on the sequel to Jungle. I also have a Wet Part 4 in my mind, and a totally new book idea. Unfortunately, I’m a slow writer, but I’m aiming for a new release by December 2016. Fingers crossed!

All of his are about to be revealed,
whether he’s ready to face them or not.

she’s only after one thing—and it isn’t Ace.
She wants closure, an end to what they started so long ago.
But with the heat exploding, Ace and Quinn are far from over.

When this biker is forced to confront his past, everything will ignite.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

2nd change romance? YES PLEASE!!  Biker? YES PLEASE.  Not gonna give up his woman? DOUBLE YES PLEASE!!

So this book is the 4th in a series but trust me when I say you don’t need to read them all because I sure haven’t and I didn’t miss a beat.

Quinn is not a happy woman.  She is on the lookout for her husband, Jack/Ace to get him to sign the divorce papers.  Quinn is over it and wants this done already.  Ace. However is not about to let that woman go!!  Quinn is actually all tough but once she sees Ace she kinda melts a bit but I mean …come one…Who wouldn’t!!

Ace was gone but for a very specific reason and he is not going to let that woman go.  He is going to convince her that they are supposed to have a forever. I mean who doesn’t wnt to be chased by an alpha biker???  I mean come one ladies!!

I loved the story even when I wanted to slap them both in the head and just say “ADMIT THE LOVE PEOPLE!!”  LOL but we readers do love our angst!!

Quinn

After our ride, I was silently thrilled Ace brought us back to the house. Max was around, and I didn’t want to be a crappy friend who ditched her after she came all that way just to check on me.
When we walked in, Max and Ham were both there. I had no idea what to make of that, but with both the guys hanging around, I couldn’t ask. Instead, I was stuck agreeing to the invitation for us to order in pizza with them and chill.
“What on it?” Ham asked as Ace and I settled onto one of the couches.
“Pineapple,” Max responded.
Ham pinched the bridge of his nose. “Tell me you’re fuckin’ with me, babe,” he demanded.
She wasn’t. I knew this. In all our years of friendship, we’d never actually shared a pizza. It always came down to ordering two so I didn’t have to choke down the gross concoction she called pizza toppings.
“Just wait,” I warned Ham.
“What the fuck could be worse than pineapple on pizza?” Ace asked.
I looked at Max. “Tell them,” I said with a flick of my wrist, indicating she proceed.
“I like pineapple, olives, green pepper, and some kind of meat, but I’ll take whatever,” she stated, unabashed.
Ham blinked, stared at her, then blinked again. It seemed to drag out for a solid minute. Then he found the response of, “That’s the most disgusting fucking pizza order I’ve ever heard.”
“It’s good!” Max insisted.
“Toots, in what universe do pineapple and marinara go together?”
Did he just call her toots? He totally did. And it wasn’t in a funny, fifties throwback way. He just called her that by rote.
“Oh, yeah. I forgot. I also don’t get sauce on it,” Max enlightened him.
“You get sauceless, pineapple, olive, green pepper, and mystery meat pizza?” Ham verified.
“Yep.”
Ham looked at me with what seemed to be a bit of concern on his face. “Where the hell did you find her?”
I laughed. “We were roommates in college. Randomly put together freshman year.”
He looked between us, then smiled in a way I could only describe as salacious.
“Damn, I am getting a beautiful picture right now,” he said.
I didn’t inform him the actual picture wasn’t all that great. Mostly, we sat around in sweatpants studying or watching Netflix. Why all men thought women being alone together meant the clothes just disappeared, I did not know. If I had to guess, I would probably blame porn.
“Before you start picturing it, I was religious about making sure there was a sock on the door and a warning text, and Quinn heeded both every time,” Max informed him.
That was true. Max gave me as much warning as she could manage before bringing guys to our room, and I was fortunate enough to never accidentally miss any of those warnings and walk in on something I did not want to see.
“Not enough to kill the dream,” Ham muttered.
“Unless she’s held out on me, I’m pretty sure there was no lesbian experimentation either,” Ace added. I gasped and slapped his shoulder.
“Not in the room anyway,” Max muttered.
I gasped again. “Seriously? You never told me that!”
She shrugged. “It was one time at a party. A bunch of frat guys dared us to make out. Nothing special. She was a good kisser, though.”
Ham cursed in a way that made it clear her words offered a mix of pain and pleasure.
“It’s why I let her slide into second base before I shut it down,” Max went on.
“Okay!” I cut in. “How about we get back to the pizza?”
“Buzzkill,” Ham said under his breath.
“Don’t worry,” Max assured quietly, but not quietly enough, “I’ll tell you the whole story later if you’re good.”
“Baby, I can be as good as you fuckin’ want.”
Turning to Ace, I spoke soft enough the other wouldn’t hear. “I don’t think I want to eat meals with the two of them ever again.”
“Noted,” he replied, grinning at my discomfort.
Jerk.
“How insistent are you on the pineapple thing?” Ace asked then, getting Ham and Max’s attention back on us.
“Completely,” she and I both answered—her firm, me resigned.
“No way in fuck I’m eating pineapple on fuckin’ pizza with no sauce,” Ham stated. I was pretty sure that was seconded by me and Ace without asking. He went on. “Not eatin’ pineapple at all.”
“Why not?” Max asked. “It’s good for you. And guys really should.”
“Why?” I had the distinct sense I would regret the question as soon as the word left my mouth.
“Because it’s supposed to make their cum taste sweeter.”
Good Lord. I was right. I didn’t want to know.
“Can we please just order food?” I asked, my face on fire.
Max ended up with a pizza—if you could call her monstrosity that—of her own, while Ham, Ace, and I shared a classic pepperoni.
We’d all finished our meals, with only Max’s pizza having any leftovers, when Daz came striding in.
“Fuck yeah, pizza!” he exclaimed.
He flipped open the box for the extra large the guys had destroyed with only a little help from me, then moved to Max’s, looking at it for a second before asking, “What’s on this?”
We answered, and he stood there for a long moment before shrugging and taking a slice.
“You’re gonna eat that shit?” Ham asked.
“Still food. Besides, pineapple’s supposed to make your cum taste better,” he replied.
“See?” Max cried.
“We both need new friends,” I declared, and Ace laughed. “I’m only kind of joking,” I informed him.
“Think we’re stuck with the ones we’ve got,” he replied, just as Max shouted, “Bitch, you’re stuck with me!”
“So much for being able to pick your friends.”
Ace pulled me in close to his side, until I had no choice but to settle my head against his shoulder. As he did, I watched Max’s face get soft.
Maybe my best friend wasn’t so bad after all.
