The NOLA Zombie series comes to a close with this emotional and action-packed installment.<\/span><\/p>\n Since the SHTF, Romeo is good at one thing, killing zombies. He doesn\u2019t want to waste his time with anything else. His fellow survivors think of him as a machine and he\u2019s fine with that. There isn\u2019t any time to waste on things, like feelings, or other nonsense.<\/p>\n Lena Dervay, former movie star, current walking victim has barely been surviving in a repurposed middle school run by an incompetent Army Lieutenant. She and her group of survivors are as good as dead if they stay put. When Lena finally gets in touch with Romeo, she knows that if anyone can come in and save the day, it\u2019s him. Problem is, Romeo isn\u2019t the charming, white knight, hero that she remembers. Lena is still drawn to him, though, and as their paths intersect she knows she might not come out intact in the end, body or soul.<\/p>\n Goodreads<\/a><\/p>\n Amazon<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I received this book from the author for an honest review.<\/p>\n EEEP!!\u00a0 Romeo!\u00a0 I gotta tell ya I have been WAITING for his story.\u00a0 When we got the backstory this summer about him and Lena\u2026.EEEPPPP\u2026.excited\u2026\u2026Have I mentioned I kinda had a thing for Romeo???\u00a0 I mean tall drink of alpha water, YES PLEASE!!!<\/p>\n So Romeo is Mr. Island.\u00a0 He is not going to deal with his emotions.\u00a0 He is just going to compartmentalize them and not think about them.\u00a0 Thinking about stuff and processing grief just gets you weak, soft and dead.\u00a0 He is loyal and is going to help his family but he is not going to make a family.\u00a0 Families and woman are an extra dependent he doesn\u2019t want or need in this Z world.<\/p>\n Lena is a beautiful woman who has been using her looks to get by in the Z world.\u00a0 Unfortunately the alpha she is currently using for protection can\u2019t seem to understand that it\u2019s over.\u00a0 Lena is kinda pathetic at times.\u00a0 She is all weepy and cries but at the same time allows herself to be a victim.<\/p>\n When Lena\u2019s group makes contact with Romeos group, he goes on a mission to find her because he feels bad that he didn\u2019t protect her when the Z virus happened. Lena is super excited because her dream man is coming for her\u2026..or is he????\u00a0 Romeo needs to help Lena get safe because he feels bad about how everything went down.<\/p>\n When they reconnect there is a stress and confusion because he want her and she wants him but he doesn\u2019t want the complication of a woman in his life\u2026.Lemme tell ya\u2026DRAMA!!!\u00a0 The push and pull between the two is crazy.\u00a0 He is a mess and she is a mess.\u00a0 There are times I wanted to throat punch both of them.\u00a0 I was glad to have Felicia, Lex and Baby there to help the two of them find their way to each other.<\/p>\n Gillian Zane is the author of the NOLA Zombie series. Zane is the pen name of a prominent blogger in the publishing industry, which will remain a mystery unless you Google it. Since she can remember her goal has been to become Master of the Universe and has decided to focus first on the literary world. Things are progressing nicely.<\/p>\n Zane has been a freelance writer for the last ten years and has published a few non-fiction works, none of which was very exciting. Zombies are much more exciting and a way for her to combine her two current obsessions, hot boys with guns and Doomsday Prepping.
