He says he was friends with her deceased son\u2026<\/p>\n But things don\u2019t seem to add up.<\/p>\n And then, when she becomes sexually attracted to him, all bets are off.<\/p>\n When her heart trumps her brain, will she know if she was wrong or will she learn the truth after it\u2019s too late?<\/p>\n There was a sadness about Brandon that touched my heart. I could sense that he had so much more to say, but the words couldn\u2019t find a way out. Maybe he needed time, but there was also a chance that those words would be forever buried inside him.<\/p>\n \u201cBrandon, I haven\u2019t been a Christian woman since the day I learned of my son\u2019s death, but it wouldn\u2019t be very Christian or<\/em> civil of me to turn you away after dark.\u201d I took a deep breath and saw him mustering up an argument, but I began speaking again before he could protest. \u201cOrdinarily, I\u2019d have a guest stay in the extra bedroom, but\u2014if you\u2019d be okay with it\u2014I\u2019d imagine Gabriel would like to have you stay in his room. It\u2019s\u2026been unoccupied for a very long time.\u201d<\/p>\n There was a long pause until JR clamored, \u201cPlease?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n Brandon\u2019s struggle was evident in his eyes but he said, \u201cThat\u2019s very kind of you. I\u2019d\u2026appreciate it more than you know.\u201d<\/p>\n His soul had spoken to me that night. It was the night I fell in love with Brandon Abbott.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I received a copy of this book for an honest review.<\/p>\n This is a different kind of story from Jade that I was used to. This put the May-June plot in a new light. I was not sure about this one when I first started it but the end I did find there were parts I really enjoyed.<\/p>\n Kimberly Cooper recently lost her son who was serving in the military. While she was still taking care of her other kids she was still morning her late son. She was not able to move on. Then Brandon Abbott showed up on her door step.<\/p>\n Brandon stated he was friends with Kimberly\u2019s deceased son while in the military. Kimberly was having feelings for this your man that she didn\u2019t think she should. However, she gave in and allowed her heart to lead the way. Then her brain caught up and she started questioning if Brandon was who he said he was and if her and her children were safe with Brandon being there. When she started digging Brandon and Kimberly found themselves in a situation where she had to figure out whom she trusted more strangers or Brandon.<\/p>\n When I thought I was going to have an issue with something I kept reading and realized it either helped Kim or Brandon or it helped Brandon remember something new so I didn\u2019t have an issue with it after all thank you Jade C. Jamison for pushing me out of my comfort zone and try something new for me.<\/p>\n Rating: 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars<\/p>\n For years, Jade C. Jamison tried really hard to write what she thought was more \u201cliterary\u201d fiction, but she found herself compelled to write what you read by her today\u2014sometimes gritty, raw, realistic stories and other times humorous, light tales\u2014but most of the stories she writes revolve around relationships and characters finding their way through life.
