Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lyssa Layne is first, and foremost, the proud momma to her precious daughter, AR. In addition to working full-time and being a mommy to AR, she is also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, a runner, blogger, and an infertility survivor.<\/p>\n

Having watched one too many medical dramas and being inspired by author Rachelle Ayala, who introduced her to the world of indie writing, Lyssa decided to try her hand at writing a romance story. Her attempt turned into the Burning Lovesick series. You can find Lyssa\u2019s own interests throughout her stories although all stories are fictional.<\/span><\/p>\n

When and Why did you start to write?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

As a blogger, I had been introduced to the world of indie writing. The more I read, the more I thought, hey, I could do this so… I did! I started writing my first novel, Love is a Fire in the fall of 2013. I had been binge watching Grey’s Anatomy and Rescue Me which is pretty obvious in the storyline. It was published in May 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

K.S. Thomas, Melissa Keir, Michele Shriver to just name a few!<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

That there isn’t an editing fairy to take you from your first draft to the final product. <\/span><\/p>\n

What are you working on now?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Currently, I’m trying to wrap up my Italian DiDominzio family series. I was supposed to publish it December 2015 but due to a few hiccups up in my writing schedule, it’s been pushed back. I’m trying to get it published by my birthday, March 13, and it’s going to be amazing. It’s a series of four, longer, novellas, each one about a sibling in the DiDominzio family. The drama starts off slowly and builds with each sibling. The thing I love about it is that you get to see the relationships progress in each story so it’s like keeping tabs on old friends of yours. <\/span><\/p>\n

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

A bit of both. I always start off with an outline but seem to always deviate from it. It’s nice to at least know where the starts and where it needs to go, even if everything in the middle gets changed up some. <\/span><\/p>\n
