I have been lucky enough to read all her books through to Trust. I have to say without a doubt, this book is my favorite. I was literally blown away by the writing. The depth of the story. The emotion of the story. It just blew me away. Period.

I am a pretty rabid reader and will devour a book in a day or two but this one drew me. I slowly savored each and every page. I loved the chemistry and angst of John and Edie. The side characters were amazing…Hang is the best best friend ever. Anders is the other best best friend a person could every want or need to but we aren’t talking about them right now. But they are great additions to the story and help the main characters realize a lot about the other. They kinda made you open your eyes or give that literally throat punch to their friends about their “relationship.”

John and Edie would have never met had they not been in the wrong place at the wrong time. They were both stuck in the convenient store when the robbery was happening. The robbery changed everything for them both in that moment.

I thought John’s character was amazing. The book is called for Trust for a reason. He can’t trust anyone and they because of his past don’t trust him. Edie has trust issues after the incident left her with people telling her business to others behind her back. They are both thrown together and they originally form a weird friendship because of the shared experiences but soon begin to develop feelings for the other. But given their “school status” they both think the other isn’t interested for whatever reason.

The book is a great read for people who may not be a big YA reader like myself. Nothing against YA but its not my favorite genre to read. This book will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for John and Edie to openly admit their feelings about each other. It will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for that first kiss and the many firsts that will follow…….

I received a copy of this book for an honest review via NetGalley.

I enjoy reading Kylie’s books but this one blew me away. It is not like her other book but it left a mark on me. The opening chapters drew me in and my heart went out to all involved. I had to keep going to find out what was going to happen and how everything was going to play out. For a YA book this was amazing and touched on so many tough topics which included bullies, sex, drugs and the struggles of the characters attempting to overcome a horrific event.

What do you do when a quick trip to the corner gas station turns your life upside down and inside out? For two it was a fight for their life and trying to figure out how and why they are still here. My heart was in shambles watching Edie and John deal with it all.

Edie was the good girl that always did what she was told. She attended an all-girls school and was so close to her bestie. They shared everything. Edie life changed after she was held hostage by a crackhead and had a gun held to her head. Kinda put things in perspective or so she thought. She was thankful to a stranger John who helped save her life.

John was a local drug dealer and didn’t take much seriously. But being at the corner store when it was being robbed and seeing people die will mess with a guys head and cause him to make some life changing decisions.

Due to both John and Edie trying to cope with what they went through they found that dealing with it together was the easiest thing to do. Edie set to do all her first before her number was up after such a close call with death no matter if this caused her to do things she would normally not do. John decided he would help her out on all her firsts just to keep an eye on her and keep her from harm. Mostly John wanted to make sure she was treated as she deserved to be and i think he enjoyed being a part of her firsts.

This book has the perfect title. From the beginning there is so much trust between people. Edie trusted John that he would help get them out of this situation they were in. Edie losing trust in people that new all her life secrets and selling out to make a few bucks. To Edie learn to attempt to trust those around her to not repeat the past. Now that John is making a change in his life he is learning who he can trust and who his real friends were.

The chemistry between John and Edie was amazing but besides these two there were their friends….Anders and Hang. OMG Hang I absolutely loved her from the second she appeared in Edie’s life and what can I say about Anders he is the best friend everyone needs. I said it once and I’ll say it again this is one of my favorites so far and I would love to know more about Anders and Hang.

New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author – Kylie is a long time fan of love stories, rock n roll, and B-grade horror films.
