Oh man was I excited to get a book about Holt.\u00a0 I had a bit of a soft side for him after Uzuri\u2019s book.\u00a0 Now don\u2019t go getting all crazy because Master Marcus is still my favorite but still Holt has my heart a fluttering.<\/p>\n

Holt is a sweet, kind and gentle soul who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.\u00a0 The fact he was attacked by a stalker and left with a few scars unfortunately chased away his girlfriend, Nadia.\u00a0 He is a bit bruised but still hopeful he can find love when he meets his sprite of a neighbor Josie.<\/p>\n

Josie is dedicated to her son and will move Heaven and Earth to make sure he gets what he needs.\u00a0 When the new neighbor moves in, she freaks because a man on a bike with tats and scars has to be a drug dealing biker right????\u00a0 She is none too thrilled he shares a duplex with her great aunt either.<\/p>\n

When Josie loses her job a chance meeting with Master Z lands her a job in the Shadowlands.\u00a0 She loves the job as a bartender.\u00a0 The hours fit her need and schedule, but the pay is FANTASTIC. Now she is stunned to see her neighbor is not only a member but an honored MASTER\u2026say what????<\/p>\n

Josie and Holt\u2019s chemistry is amazing to read.\u00a0 They have a zing every scene they are in together.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0The couple had a lot to work out because of Josie\u2019s fear of men and her trust issues after her life experiences taught her romance and love just exist.\u00a0 I think for Me, as a reader, I loved the confidence Holt has in regards to chasing Josie.\u00a0 I love a confident man but a man who also knows when to give his little scared pet a little bit of space before he overwhelmed her AGAIN with what she didn\u2019t know she needed.<\/p>\n

The backstory of the arsonist is great reads. \u00a0I loved how it all played out plus who all came to help in Holt in the ending.<\/p>\n
