From one of my favorite contemporary and paranormal authors comes a new series and it\u2019s YA.\u00a0 <\/span>Carrie Ann Ryan leads us into a world of elemental magic, a world looking for it\u2019s savior in the form of the Spirit Priestess.<\/p>\n

Lyric, love that name btw, is a recent high school graduate trying to figure out her path in the world.\u00a0 <\/span>She knows she\u2019s going to college, but for what?\u00a0 <\/span>Her friends\u00a0 <\/span>Braelynn and Emory know what they want to do in life, but not her she is just a ordinary bisexual girl from Colorado.\u00a0 <\/span>Well ordinary but the dreams she\u2019s been having since she was a kid.<\/p>\n

Rhodes is the hot dude from down the road, along with his sister Rosamond they show Lyric that the world is not what it seems.<\/p>\n

Ok if you have seen the cartoon or read the Manga The Last Air Bender you can kinda get the feel of the realm of Maison.\u00a0 <\/span>There are people that can use the four elements or more than one of them.\u00a0 <\/span>There is also a caste system with Queens, Kings, Lords, Ladies, and the lower class.<\/p>\n

Ryan has done a excellent job bringing this new world of hers to life, it\u2019s totally different for her but not really if that makes any sense at all.\u00a0 <\/span>The characters, other than having magic, are real as well as the Maison Realm.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s exciting to see Lyric, who thinks she\u2019s nothing special just a average girl, find new things about herself and how strong she really is.<\/p>\n

Couple things though, Emory is also Lyric\u2019s ex as well as her friend, however, she seems like a real witch to me.\u00a0 <\/span>She\u2019s not nice at all and seems to cause trouble and fights with everyone.\u00a0 <\/span>Two, I don\u2019t think that Rhodes is what he seems to be besides a hot dude that show Lyric that humans are not alone and magic is real.\u00a0 <\/span>Oh, Oh, Oh and there is another guy Easton.\u00a0 <\/span>He\u2019s suppose to be one of the bad guys but I get the feeling that there is more than just the attractiveness of a bad boy about him.<\/p>\n

I can not wait until book 2, to find out more about this world and to see what kind of path that Lyric takes to become the person that she is meant to be.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
