\nJealousy is\na relatively new emotion for me, filling my heart with a million sharp shards\nof glass. It scratches me raw so easily, until my heart was torn and bleeding.\nFeeling it for the first time, find myself inferior in a whole new way, I sob\ninto my pillows helplessly.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nDryas comes\ninto the bedroom a while later on quiet feet. I am glad he didn\u2019t see the fit\nof tears that chased me out of the kitchen. Still, my eyes are red and puffy,\nmy nose still stuffed up. As he approaches the bed, I can\u2019t help but wonder if\nhe compares me to her.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nThat\nthought, dark and vicious, seems to gnaw at my soul. <\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nWhen he\nsits down beside me, I release a long-suffering sigh. Looking up at him, I\u2019m\nembarrassed to even be having these emotions, yet incapable of feeling\ndifferently. He pins me with that chartreuse gaze, those dark brows drawn low.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\u201cI am\nsorry,\u201d he begins, surprising me. \u201cI should have told you about Aurelia from\nthe start.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\nI push\nmyself upright, sniffling. \u201cI mean, I\u2019m not your girlfriend. This isn\u2019t a\nrelationship we are in, technically. You don\u2019t owe me any explanations.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nI splay my\nhand on the comforter, picking at a loose thread. Dryas sighs and shifts closer\nto me.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nHe takes my\nhand, pulling it against his torso. I glance up at him, my heart racing at his\nwords. <\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nHis lips\nlift in the gentlest smile. He\u2019s devastatingly handsome in that moment, looking\ndown at me with his brilliant yellow-green eyes.\u201cGood. You mean something to\nme, too.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
