As for noise level, I like to have on soothing instrumental music to write, but developing characters and plotlines, I plug in the headphones and hit Pandora for a variety of songs until one sparks an idea, then I'm off and dancing until I figure out the whole story or my knees say 'enough!' Place to sit? I have an office upstairs, but I hardly use it. Attractive Over Forty Man, aka, the hubs, likes me to be close during the evenings, so I write in the dining room or bring the laptop to the sofa.\\nIt works pretty well, as I read passages out loud and he tells me whether a guy would actually say or do that. I have learned that no guy is going to talk about anything if a girl is naked, so those long romantic conversations happen AFTER the, well, you know. \\nI also run an in-home daycare, so I have to be careful what's popping up on the laptop during the day.
