When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I find the ones that follow the first book because I suck at keeping track of timelines and details. I have a notebook for a series and I still forget things.<\/span><\/p>\n

What comes first? The plot or characters <\/strong><\/p>\n

Characters – I don’t plot. I’ll take notes but that’s about it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)? <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Tijan and Lily White. They are both my unicorn authors!<\/span><\/p>\n

If you could ask that author three questions about their writing, writing process, or books, what would they be?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Um…well I’ve talked to both of them so…I guess I would ask Lily to help me get deeper into the dark subjects I write about. Go beyond the blood and gore kind of thing. <\/span><\/p>\n

What is harder? The blurb writing, naming the book, or naming the series. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The blurb. Always the freaking blurb.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Meeting and interacting with readers! So this would include all of the book signings I’ve been to as well!<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your definition of success?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Besides being able to quit the day job of course, which I think is a goal for a lot of authors – I think I’m pretty successful. Sure, I don’t have a movie deal or anything but I have readers. They are what keeps me going and striving to be a better author, person, etc. I really couldn’t do this without them.<\/span><\/p>\n
