Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anna Hague. I’ve been publishing since the fall of 2016. I write contemporary, erotic and now am writing a paranormal series. I’ve been a sports reporter for 25 years and am married and have three parrots and two dogs.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I think the books that follow the first one. In the first one, you’re starting with this terrific idea and it’s easy to run with. With the others, while secondary characters give rise to the other books, you’re having to create a whole story for them and still keep the details of the original book all in line.<\/span><\/p>\n

What comes first? The plot or characters<\/strong><\/p>\n

For me it differs from book to book. In Captured Hearts and Thunderstruck the plot came first. A song inspired Captured Hearts, while a vacation location began Thunderstruck. In my erotic novels, the characters were first.<\/span><\/p>\n

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Carl Hiaasen. He’s not a romance author. He writes these quirky stories set in Florida with these outrageous plots and characters. He’s a great smartass too, and I love that in a man.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you could ask that author three questions about their writing, writing process, or books, what would they be?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Do you ever think your story is too ridiculous to sell? <\/span><\/p>\n

2. How much guilt do you feel if you don’t write everyday? <\/span><\/p>\n

3. What would you do differently if you were starting over?<\/span><\/p>\n

What is harder? The blurb writing, naming the book, or naming the series.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

BLURB. I hate it. I suck at it, and now I hire someone to do it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

When someone who wasn’t family or friend told me they loved my book.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your definition of success?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Obviously, it’s not financial. I think my success is realizing I’ve more than one story in me. Some authors have a best seller and are never heard from again. I’m happy knowing my mind is full of all kinds of stories.<\/span><\/p>\n
