\nI’ve been an author for six years now. When I’m not writing, I like to read and binge watch shows and movies on Netflix. Also, I love to spend time with my children and grandkids. I love to travel too and hope to start adding more stamps to my passport soon. <\/span><\/p>\n

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first book in the series is always the hardest for me, because I’m setting the scene for the entire series. I’m introducing characters and trying to set the tone for the series. Do I want it to be a mystery, comedy, or a bit of both?<\/span><\/p>\n

When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I try to write new scenes that I haven’t used before or that I haven’t read before. Sometimes it’s a matter of combining familiar situations into one, but adding a new twist. <\/span><\/p>\n

Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Just allow your imagination to run when your writing and don’t worry about mistakes. That is what the editing process is for. Enjoy yourself. Because if you don’t, then it turns into something you don’t want to do any longer.<\/span><\/p>\n

On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If I’m working on a story, anywhere from 4-5 hours. It all depends on the deadline I’ve set for myself. Some days I don’t write at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oh, this is a hard one. I actually have two that are special to me. Probably because they both share the same characteristics. Zane Maxwell from Rescued By the Scot & Graham Worthington from The Siren’s Gentleman. Both characters are these fun loving men that also have a serious side to them that nobody understands. Only those closet to them. They pull you when their sense of humor and you fall madly in love with them by their romantic gestures and the passionate love they hold for the heroines. <\/span><\/p>\n

What is your definition of success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My definition of success is when a reader understands the depth of the story as I have written it. <\/span><\/p>\n
