Hi! I’m A.D. Ellis. I write addictive, sexy, emotional Male\/Male romance. I also have a handful of short, steamy, dirty, and flirty MF romance titles published under the pen name Dove Daniels. I’m a mom of two teens and a teacher\/instructional coach in the inner city of Indianapolis. I’ve lived in Indiana my whole life. When I’m not working or writing, I love to read. <\/span><\/p>\n

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think it’s a toss-up. Sometimes the first is easy because it just flows and the ones after it are harder because they’re trying to live up to book 1. On the other hand, sometimes book 1 is harder because you’re getting to know the characters and the other books come easier because they’re like old friends you’ve known forever.<\/span><\/p>\n

When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?<\/strong><\/p>\n

For me, all of my series focus on different couples within that shared world, so it’s pretty easy to keep things fresh with a new couple in each book.<\/span><\/p>\n

Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take care of yourself. Period. If you don’t have it right now, you just don’t have it. And that’s okay.<\/span><\/p>\n

On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

About an hour in the morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can’t choose just one! \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your definition of success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

That varies so widely for me. Hour-by-hour, day-to-day, full-time job, part-time writing, parenting, relationships, etc. They all have varying goals and levels of success.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have anything you want to share that didn’t fit on one of these questions?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just that I absolutely adore the mission of this event and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the readers I’ve come to think of as friends thanks to WOTR. Thank you for reading. Thank you for taking a chance on my books. Thank you for giving me a reason to get these stories out of my head.<\/span><\/p>\n
