I purchased this book.<\/p>\n

I was looking for some quick reads and the author told me about this one.\u00a0 I loved the fact the girl was nerdy and wore fun Star Wars shirts that people didn\u2019t understand.\u00a0 This is my husband 100%.<\/p>\n

I love a good novella because we know there will be a HEA and most are pretty much \u201cBoy and girl meet, have some laughs, and then fall in love.\u201d\u00a0 This book started pretty traditional and then switched a bit.\u00a0 The characters meet and fall but then split and look out because a woman scorned is never a good thing.\u00a0 LOL<\/p>\n

Layla and Phin meet and have some attraction.\u00a0 They both are not facing all the things in their lives and are kind of hiding while having fun with the other.\u00a0 When things get a little too deep, Phin pushed Layla away in the most douche of ways\u2026hence why she becomes a woman scorned.<\/p>\n

Layla is not one to back down from a challenge and does all she can to prove that the things Phin said about her were not true.\u00a0 So, when they see each other a few months later, she is hell bent on making him pay for breaking her heart.<\/p>\n

I liked the story but would have liked to know more about Phin\u2019s back story.\u00a0 Because it was kinda wild what we did learn.<\/p>\n

Shannyn is a part-time English teacher, part-time editor, and full-time mom (even though her kids are about grown).<\/p>\n

She writes contemporary romances (almost all set in the city of Chicago) about family, friends, and love. Whether it’s a sprawling Irish American family with a ton of siblings or a group of friends who are found family, how everyone functions (or not) is often a core of her stories.<\/p>\n
