My name is Nylah Gilbert, and my work-life balance is absolutely shot.<\/span><\/p>\n

By day, I’m a firefighter dealing with ordinary emergencies like kitchen fires and idiots who think fireworks belong indoors. By night, I’m apparently the universe’s go-to girl for hunting down ancient artifacts that want to murder everyone.<\/p>\n

Because naturally, when my grandmother’s antique watch starts having a temporal breakdown and clockwork beetles invade my living room, someone thought, “Hey, let’s dump this on the middle-aged mom who’s already juggling a full-time job, teenage daughters, and a husband who turns furry once a month.”<\/p>\n

Now I’ve got fragments of some godly hourglass burning holes in my bag, my husband’s been yeeted into another timeline, and my girls are casting spells between homework assignments like it’s totally normal. Did I mention the fanatical cult trying to rewrite history? Because that’s apparently my weekend now.<\/p>\n

The Brotherhood thinks they can use the Chronos Hourglass to “cleanse” the world of technology. What they’re actually going to do is turn everyone into medieval peasants while they play god with the timeline. Over my dead body.<\/p>\n

I’ve got my best friends Kaiya and Aeira watching my back, a Pegasus who’s seen some serious stuff, and enough magical firepower to level a city block. The universe picked the wrong part-time Relic Keeper to mess with.<\/p>\n

Time’s running out\u2014literally\u2014and if I don’t stop these lunatics before dawn, Washington D.C. becomes ground zero for the apocalypse. No pressure or anything.<\/p>\n

Good thing I’ve always been better at putting out fires than starting them. Though at this point, I might have to burn down half the world to save it.<\/p>\n
