About the Author

I’m a New England transplant living in central Indiana. I’ve been following my husband around for the past 24 years. Luckily, we have stayed put for the last 13 years and settled down with our two boys and our crazy Labradoodle (he looks like Fozzy The Bear from the muppets).

When and Why did you start to write?

I started writing less than five years ago. I was reading a ton of books while recovering from surgery. My husband challenged me to write something instead and out popped The Racer’s Widow. Since then I finished that series and I’ve been working on several other manuscripts as well as improving my writing craft with the help of my IRWA chapter mates.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

Janet Evonovich makes me laugh so I’ve read all of her Stephanie Plum books. I love historical fiction too from anyone I get my hands on.

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

The process of writing and getting my thoughts down on the paper isn’t the hard part. I’ve got a few things floating around in my head all the time so the stories are there. Editing though, is the part that I need to concentrate on learning how to be better at before I send it out to the professionals. Finding where I’ve gone off on a tangent, squirrel, and getting back in line with the plot.

What are you working on now?

Right now, I’ve “A Place To Call Home” almost ready to publish this Spring. It is a contemporary romance about an interior designer and a carpenter.

In November for NaNoWriMo I started a trilogy about a group of women planning their high school reunion. I hope to have book one finished before Writer’s On The River in July.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

I am a pantser and then do a cheat plot. If I have a good idea for how I’d like the plot to go then I’ll make notes for myself at the end of the day. I guess it’s still me being a pantser but I’d like to think I put a little effort in, squirrel!
