OMG was I so excited to read Kendrick. He always cracked me up with his insane and over the top wild behavior with the ones he loved. The last couple books we have seen him struggle and start to spiral downward but had no clue WHY!!
Kendrick, at his lowest of lows, finds the light of his life. He certainly didn’t know a night with Jay and her boyfriend Tony would change his world but it does. He sees something about her and needs to know more. Jay is not about the get close. When Tony has to leave she tells Kendrick they can keep having “fun” but no strings.
Kendrick finally comes clean about what has been nagging at him for the past 10 years to his amazing family. When he finally comes clean he also gets a chance at a new life with Jay because she spills an epic secret to him about how her life is going to be changing.
Kendrick and Jay jump in head first into a relationship. They both fall head over heels in love but then Kendrick has an accident and Jay is a mess. My favorite scene in the whole book is when Kendrick is drugged up at the hospital and she spills her entire deep dark past to him. When she admits her true feelings to him….my heart beat a bit faster.
Kendrick makes some epic mistakes but Jay and his family are there to make him get his head outta his butt plus make things right before he lose Jay and any possible future he may have with her.

Ellis spends the majority of her days loving and wrangling two school-aged children, a husband, and a Yorkie with a stubborn streak a mile wide before heading to the inner city of Indiana to teach a challenging group of alternative education students in grades third through sixth. Most days she hits the gym after school in hopes of running and lifting away the stress and headaches of the day before picking up her children and squeezing a whole day’s worth of loving and living into the too-short hours before bed. It’s no wonder Ms. Ellis lives for the slower, easier days she gets to enjoy on breaks from school.
