Review by Twinsie Tenise

Broken Souls pulled me in from the first chapter. I don’t recall ever reading a book quite like it and I’m sure I will never forget it. The writing was flawless and had me itching to see how the story would end. Well it didn’t end quite like I thought it would but I will say this- the author has a twisted mind and I love it!!! I’m looking forward to reading more from her in the near future.

About Evan Grace

A Midwesterner and a readaholic most of her life. One day an idea came into her head and a writing career was born. She’s a sucker for happily ever afters and loves creating fictional worlds that others can get lost in. She loves putting her characters through the ringer, but loves when they get to that satisfying, swoony ending.

When the voices in her head give it a rest, which isn’t often, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Aurora Rose Reynolds, (the queen) Kristen Ashley, Kaylee Ryan, Natasha Madison, and Harper Sloan. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, movies, TV shows and life.

She’s a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and (the real)Evan, a weightlifter, a home healthcare scheduler, and a full-time writer. How does she do it? She’ll never tell.

#MMRomance #AgeGap #SilverFox Take Me Home by: A.D. Ellis

Can a city boy survive exile to a small town? Will falling for a hot, older country boy make the situation better or worse?

Marc Kingsley is the best in his big-city family business. When a medical issue gets Marc temporarily banished to a tiny country town, he’s certain the experience will be a nightmare.
Jordan Moore is living the dream on his farm. When his best friend’s grandson begrudgingly comes to town, Jordan’s simple life gets turned upside down.
Can Marc and Jordan find a brief, shared happiness even when they’ve accepted they’ll eventually have to walk away? Or will both men end up nursing broken hearts?
Take Me Home is a male/male age-gap, opposites-attract romance with plenty of steam and a scene that will make you appreciate camouflage and work boots.

Review by Twinsie Tenise

Marcus Kingley works for the family business. He’s content with his life that consists of lots of work and the occasional hookup with random men, for a night of no-strings-attached, meaningless sex.
He begins to question if he’s really been living when the family dr tells him he needs to take some time off. His health is suffering due to his rigorous work schedule. Marcus is told by his grandfather he must take some time off. He’s not exactly happy about this but he has no other choice.

Jordan Moore is a carpenter and farmer in a small town. He loves his small town life and would never dream of living anywhere else. He is resigned to being alone because his business that pays the bills and puts food on the table is way more important than everyone in town knowing his business!

When the men’s lives become intertwined, neither of them are prepared for what happens next.

A.d Ellis has once again wrote an absolutely amazing MM romance. Every couple she writes, I love, and Macus & Jordan were no different. I honestly cannot pick a favorite of these 2. They each had their own little quirks that made me fall in love with them and their story.

#mmromance #bestfriendsdad —Reckless by: Kate Hawthorne

Pursuing your best friend’s dad is never a good idea, but Cameron Motel is feeling reckless. His life is about to change, and Luke is older, attractive…and he represents something Cameron has never had before.

Stability.

Luke didn’t mean to get involved with his son’s best friend, but Cameron needed a strong hand and Luke was willing to deliver on his promises.

This thing between them is supposed to be a secret, but something as big as love can’t stay hidden for long. Then a single phone call sends Cameron farther away from home than he’d ever planned to go, and Luke’s subconscious keeps him grounded in the past unable to move on.

Cameron is gone, and to get him back Luke needs to do something big, something bold, something…reckless.

Reckless is #1 in the Room for Love series. It is a 65,000 word romance that explores an unexpected love and survives unexpected distance. Reckless has EVERYTHING you would expect from a Kate Hawthorne book…and more.

Review by Twinsie Tenise

This was my first ‘best friends dad’ book. I was nervous going in, because, well it was new territory for me. Let me just say, I’m glad I gave this troupe a chance.

Cameron, with his smart mouth and need to please. Luke with his dominant nature.(Ummm, yes, please!) These 2 were kind of perfect for each other. Well, except for the pesky age gap and the fact that Cameron is Luke’s sons best friend. Ehh semantics.

I found myself rooting for these 2. Defending them in my head against anyone who questioned their “relationship”.
Reckless was a very good book with interesting plot twists. I’m looking forward to getting to know the next brother in Heartless, book 2 in the series.

#partofaseries #suspense —Flock(Ravenhood Book 1) by: Kate Stewart

Can you keep a secret?

I grew up sick.⁣

Let me clarify.⁣

I grew up believing that real love stories include a martyr or demand great sacrifice to be worthy.⁣

Because of that, I believed it, because I made myself believe it, and I bred the most masochistic of romantic hearts, which resulted in my illness.⁣

When I lived this story, my own twisted fairy tale, it was unbeknownst to me at the time because I was young and naïve. I gave into temptation and fed the beating beast, which grew thirstier with every slash, every strike, every blow.⁣

Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets.⁣

Secrets that cost us everything to keep.⁣

That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.⁣

Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence due to my illness.⁣

And all were punished.

This trilogy is a gritty, modern day take on Robin Hood. It’s an unconventional love story—bad boys/antiheroes—filled with suspense, steam, major twists, a little action, and ALL OF THE FEELS.

Review by Twinsie Tenise

The Flock is the first book of 2021 that I would give more than 5 stars if I could. And it left me struggling to write a review worthy of the epic story I just read.

This book came highly recommend from a friend. I went in blind and couldn’t put it down. It consumed an entire Saturday,  I was determined to finish the book. Nothing was more important than the answers to all of the questions bouncing around in my head.

The ending left me with more questions than answers but I know that I will always remember this story. The plot is original and the characters were unforgettable. I had ALL THE FEELS while reading and cannot wait to dive into book 2, where I hopefully find the answers I seek.

#allthefeels #havethetissueshandy #onceinalifetimelove —If I’d Known by: Paige P Horne

Time is a thief they say, and if you’re not careful it’ll slip right past you, taking everything you hold dear in this world with it.

It was the summer of 1972 when I first laid eyes on him.

Cynthia Rose probably got more than she bargained for when she came to my door step asking to write about my story.

Our story.

To everyone else Travis Cole was just the bad boy, but to me he was the keeper of my heart and even as time aged us and miles kept us apart, my heart stayed his.

Forever his.

If I’d Known is a phenomenal story based on a love that you only hear about in fairy tales. It’s the kind of love that’s not only unconditional, but unbreakable. Prepare to be swept off your feet as you immerse yourself into the story of Charlotte and Travis, while also going on a journey with three women as they form an unlikely friendship, discovering that without darkness there would be no light.
The friendship in this story is fiction, but the love it holds is as real as you and I.

“Time is a thief they say, and if you’re not careful it’ll slip right past you, taking everything you hold dear in this world with it.”

With puffy eyes and an aching heart, I am kind of at a loss for words right now. Knowing this book is based on a true story has made it even harder to process.

Without giving too much of the book away, I will say this- Travis and Charlotte had an epic love- a love most people can only dream about. I feel honored to have been able to read their story. Thank you so much for sharing it with everyone.

This book was beautifully written. I love how the author made it flow so seamlessly from past to present. If I’d Known has definitely made my top 10 books of all time list!

#lifelongfriendship #womansfiction #allthefeels #twinsietenisetopfive —Firefly Lane by Kristen Hannah

From the New York Times bestselling author of On Mystic Lakecomes a powerful novel of love, loss, and the magic of friendship. . . .

In the turbulent summer of 1974, Kate Mularkey has accepted her place at the bottom of the eighth-grade social food chain. Then, to her amazement, the “coolest girl in the world” moves in across the street and wants to be her friend. Tully Hart seems to have it all—beauty, brains, ambition. On the surface they are as opposite as two people can be: Kate, doomed to be forever uncool, with a loving family who mortifies her at every turn. Tully, steeped in glamour and mystery, but with a secret that is destroying her. They make a pact to be best friends forever; by summer’s end they’ve become TullyandKate. Inseparable.

So begins Kristin Hannah’s magnificent new novel. Spanning more than three decades and playing out across the ever-changing face of the Pacific Northwest, Firefly Laneis the poignant, powerful story of two women and the friendship that becomes the bulkhead of their lives.

From the beginning, Tully is desperate to prove her worth to the world. Abandoned by her mother at an early age, she longs to be loved unconditionally. In the glittering, big-hair era of the eighties, she looks to men to fill the void in her soul. But in the buttoned-down nineties, it is television news that captivates her. She will follow her own blind ambition to New York and around the globe, finding fame and success . . . and loneliness.

Kate knows early on that her life will be nothing special. Throughout college, she pretends to be driven by a need for success, but all she really wants is to fall in love and have children and live an ordinary life. In her own quiet way, Kate is as driven as Tully. What she doesn’t know is how being a wife and mother will change her . . . how she’ll lose sight of who she once was, and what she once wanted. And how much she’ll envy her famous best friend. . . .

For thirty years, Tully and Kate buoy each other through life, weathering the storms of friendship—jealousy, anger, hurt, resentment. They think they’ve survived it all until a single act of betrayal tears them apart . . . and puts their courage and friendship to the ultimate test.

Firefly Lane is for anyone who ever drank Boone’s Farm apple wine while listening to Abba or Fleetwood Mac. More than a coming-of-age novel, it’s the story of a generation of women who were both blessed and cursed by choices. It’s about promises and secrets and betrayals. And ultimately, about the one person who really, truly knows you—and knows what has the power to hurt you . . . and heal you. Firefly Lane is a story you’ll never forget . . . one you’ll want to pass on to your best friend.

Review by Twinsie Tenise

Some books need no introduction or review with all sorts of details. Firefly Lane is definitely one of those books. The story speaks for itself and it has a lot to say. I loved Tully and Kate and their story about lifelong friendship, finding yourself, and oh so much more. I wish there were a 10 star option! Words cannot express how utterly fantastic this book was. I’m not sure I’ve ever been full of so many emotions after finishing a book. I think Firefly Lane is a book every female should read. I know I will be recommending it to everyone!

Review by Twinsie Tenise

Gigi is a single mom in a new town, just trying to get settled in the farmhouse she inherited from a good friend. Things are going well until she meets Jess, the brooding town sheriff who seems to have a real problem with Gigi.
I loved these characters! While Georgia was more quiet and reserved, Jess knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to voice it. He was bossy but it was so effing HOT! And don’t even get me started on how sweet he was with, Roe, Gigi’s daughter. That, to me, made him even hotter!
I was hooked on this book from the first page. The authors words held me hostage and wouldn’t let me go until I finished the last line. Even though the story is over, I feel like I need more. It’s a good thing there are more books in this series. And I’m not quite sure how its possible, but I heard from a friend that they keep getting better. So, I guess I’m off to read The Clover Chapel, book 2 in the series.

A USA Today bestseller!
Sacrifice. LOYALTY. FAMILY.

Thia is out there where he can’t protect her.
Thia isn’t the type of girl to wait around to be rescued,
especially when she has some rescuing to do of her very own.
Bear and Thia are in for a fight, not only for their lives,
but for their love.

SOULLESS is book FOUR in the KING SERIES and the finale to LAWLESS.

Review by Twinsie Tenise

Oh my! I don’t even know where to start. Bear was first introduced in King, book one of the series. The more he was mentioned in King- the more I wanted him to get his own book. I just liked his character and wanted to know more about him. Well, I just finished Souless, book 2 of Bear’s and let me just say, his story did not disappoint, it was freaking EPIC!

T.m. Frazier is truly a master of her craft. She can really weave an MC tale. Several times I had chills because of things that happened I didn’t really see coming. When I finished Souless I literally hugged my Kindle. It is just one of those books. You will completely understand once you read it.

If you do not know who this Bear is I speak of, you are missing out on something amazing! I suggest you start with King so you can get acquainted with everyone because they are quite an amazing bunch.

Well I’m off to read Preppy, book 5 in the series. I’m so excited to see where T.m takes things next.

About T.M. Frazier

T.M. Frazier lives in sunny Southwest Florida with her husband and daughter. She dreamed of being a writer since the day she learned how to read. After spending many years working in real estate she decided could no longer ignore that dream.

She published her first book, The Dark Light of Day, in 2013 and has since become a USA Today bestselling author several times over. Her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world.

T.M. enjoys writing what she calls ‘wrong side of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines.

Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay.

She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she’s not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.

#tearjerker #firstlove #soulmates —No Tomorrow by: Carian Cole

The people we love are thieves.
They steal our hearts. They steal our breath.
They steal our sanity.
And we let them.
Over and over and over again.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

They say you never forget your first love.
Mine was a homeless musician who wandered straight into my soul.

He was my first everything. And fourteen years later, I still can’t get him out of my head.

He broke all my rules.
He also broke my heart.

I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar.
But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.

Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.

But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true.

You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the park. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.

I thought I knew everything about him.
But I could not have been more wrong.

He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting.
And hoping.
Again.

_______________________

Note: This is not a fluffy, light read or a swoony romance. It’s a journey of love between two people who can’t let each other go, even though they are far from perfect. It’s about loving someone who is struggling with mental illness and addiction and all the ups and downs that come with it. It’s about finding a happily ever after that works between two people loving each other the best they can with patience, understanding, and unconditional love. Not everyone will agree with this kind of love and acceptance – but it exists, and it’s real, and it happens every day.

Soulmates– some people believe in them, some don’t. I always have but even if I didn’t I totally would have changed my tune after reading No Tomorrow.
Evan and Piper’s story was beautiful and tragic. Not some sunshine and rainbows love story. But a love story that is real, raw, and uncensored. From the moment the Blue and Piper met, though they were an unlikely pair, I was really hoping they would get a happy ending. They both deserve it. But if these 2 want anything close to a happy ending they are going to have to work extra hard to get there. And even then- will all of the hard work and dedication be enough?
No Tomorrow was absolutely amazing! I loved every minute of it and seriously could not read fast enough. This was my first book by Carian Cole, but it definitely won’t be the last. I just love her writing style and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

#Wotr21 #AttendingAuthor #MMRomance #Fakerelationship —Crave (Remington Place book 2) by: A.D. Ellis

When two friends agree to be fake boyfriends and add in casual sex, what could go wrong?

Raiden Ono is a nerdy gamer with a painful past and a solid plan for his future. He just needs a break so he can get back on his feet.

Spencer Nelson sees himself as a failure and not worthy of anything remotely resembling good. But then Rai pops into his life and makes him question everything.

Will Rai and Spencer protect their hearts and settle for their status quo friendship? Or will they finally accept the truth and let love take control?

**Crave is a steamy, friends-to-lovers, fake relationship M/M romance with a virgin nursing student and a gruff, grumbly construction worker. It’s the second book in the Remington Place series and can be read as a stand-alone, but is likely best enjoyed when read in order.**

Review by Twinsie Tenise

Crave is book 2 in the Remington Place series and can be read as a stand-alone but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND  starting at the beginning and meeting all of the men of Remington Place. They all have something special about them. And don’t even get me started on their house mother, Bev. She is something else and I just love her to pieces.

Raiden Ono is a gamer and a server at a local diner. He is pretty much alone in life, with no place to call home, so he has been couch surfing to save money. Even though he refuses to admit it out loud, the highlight of his days are when Spencer Nelson shows up at the diner and sits in Rai’s section.

Spencer Nelson is a blue collar construction worker. He, too, was basically alone in life until he found Bev and Remington Place. Now he has his own little “found family” and he’s not alone anymore but there’s still something missing in his life.

Rai and Spencer become friends but when the 2 friends agree to be fake boyfriends for a while there’s no chance that either could catch feelings and their little “fake boyfriends” game could blow up in their faces. Nope- absolutely not. *insert eye roll*

Spencer and Rai’s story gave me ALL THE FEELS!  I am loving this series and cannot wait to meet the next couple of Remington Place.
