First let me say I love reading new authors, but I especially love getting so sucked into a story that you can’t but it down and that is what E.G. Patrick did to me with this book!!
Violet is a paralegal who had a traumatic event in her dating past that put her off dating since. Adam is a high powered attorney who is confident and in control of all aspects of his life. The two couldn’t be more different from each other in every way.
The two run into each other, literally, several times and each are attracted to the other and decide to go on a date.
What follows is a roller coaster of emotions.
Violet is majorly attracted to Adam who she believe is so above her level, she is after all a is a woman of modest means and a virgin. She is a virgin with some deeply hidden desires though.
Adam is a rich man who has had lots of short term relationships and does not deal with emotions.
They both want only each other, Violet falls in love with Adam but he can not give her more than just right now and after hearing his story I can really understand why.
At times you wanna hate Adam because he seems quite controlling, at others you wanna smack Violet for taking to long to understand why.
They are really good together and the sex scenes are majorly HOT and hearing Violets inner desires are like Whoa!!
Just when she lets Adam know about her secrets, the book ends!!!! What else could I do but get the second book!!!
Violet is also getting some anonymous text messages that she is ignoring thinking they are nothing but I think they may be a jealous ex of Adam’s.
I can’t wait to get started on book 2.

I love being back at McKay-Taggart and this time we are at the London branch, so really it’s McKay-Taggart & Knight which means we get to see The Garden!! I love that place, it’s so beautiful!!
Nikolai Markovic: Sexy Russian Bear of a man is in charge of the office while the bosses are away. Nick hasn’t been the same since his friend, lover, and coworker Desiree died on the op where Theo Taggart was captured. He also blames himself that his partner Owen was used by same insane Dr and his mind erased with her mind altering drug.
Hayley Dalton: Desiree’s poor American cousin who had her heart broken by Nick five years ago when he chose Desiree over her. Little did she know he did it so he could go and get vengeance on the people who killed his sister.
Hayley comes to Nick because after Des’s death she was sent two letters one for her and one for him and hers told her if ever she was in trouble go to him, when someone blows up her house that’s what she does.
What follows is a lesson in finding yourself, second chances, forgiveness, and hello it’s McKay-Taggart & Knight, so people trying to kill people, the spy games that we have comes to love from them, and that lovely give and take of a Master and his sub.
Nick learns to forgive himself for things he had no control over and that he does deserve the love that he pushed away 5 years ago and Hayley learns things aren’t always what they seem even yourself.
We also learn more about Ezra Fain, the “company man” that took over for Tennessee Smith. There’s more there then meets the eye and I’m sure that somewhere down the road we will have a book for him.
After reading the end I’m of course on pins and needles for the next book!!! Lexi Blake has done it once again, made me go from happy to sad, to ticked off, to breathless, and back to happy all in one book. She takes you to different locales and makes you feel all the feels so seemlessly every time I read her and this is why I love her.

Nick went back to staring at the report. “Hayley’s not mine. She was Desiree’s cousin. Now she’s my client.”

Who had been tired the night before and that was why she’d said the things she’d said. This morning she’d seemed much more sensible. They looked over that dead body and saw her walking in the hall and that was when the fighting started. We all sat down and decided no dibs on her. She’ll get to pick. You should know that Sasha and Jax have decided if she picks either of them, they’re willing to share. I don’t play that way. That’s something I do know about meself. No need for you to be telling me that tale. If there’s going to be some sharing in the bedroom, it’s going to be the traditional kind between a man and a woman and her stacked best friend. “I’m judging a beauty pageant?” Hayley followed behind Kay, and both women were followed by Charlotte Taggart and Penelope Knight. It looked like Hayley was rapidly being accepted by the women on his team.

That was not necessarily a good thing. The women on his team could create chaos like no others.

“That sounds like fun,” Charlotte said with a smile. “I think we should require Speedos for the bathing suit competition. No boring board shorts. If Hayley’s picking a lover, she needs to see some booty.”

Hayley stopped, her cheeks going the sweetest color of pink. “Wait. What?”

Penelope put a hand on her arm. “They’re teasing you, dear. Don’t worry about it. The lads will be very polite. Though you should expect some suitors while you’re here. Especially if you come down to the dungeon.”

Now he was the one flushing. “Excuse me?”

So, this is the follow up to Stolen Innocence. The first book was freaking amazing and FREE if you’re wondering. This installment shows us more of the Elena/Dalton dilemma and more to the point, how Elena is handling everything Dalton is throwing at her. You get ’em girl!

Elena was thoroughly pissing me off in this one. I mean how much does she intend to take? How many times can she be let down and go back for more? Apparently a lot! I still think she’s tough as nails, but when it comes to Dalton her body has a mind of it’s own. Backbone girl, get it!

Dalton is an asshole to say the least. I think he may be dealing with his own demons, but who cares…he could be nicer to our girl! I hate 90% of the shit he does to Elena in this one, but strangely I have high hopes for him.

Some new characters are introduced and I’m on the fence in if I like them or not. This Darcy, the one who Dalton seems to admire, she’s kind of scaring me a bit. We’ll see if she actually does Elena any good. Not holding my breath.

So, again, Melody gives us an Erotic story without any really bad words. The pacing is good, the storyline absurdly dark, and the characters are phenomenal. Diving into New Desires NOW!

This book isn’t anything like what I’ve written before. I had a dream, the opening scene of this book, actually. And I woke up and lay there for a while, and still couldn’t push it away, so I got up, wrote the first chapter. Then I lay back down and was back out of bed within fifteen minutes, where I gave up on sleep and sat at my computer all night and all the next day until my eyes wouldn’t stay open anymore. Then for the next week, all I did was eat and sleep (minimally) and the first draft was born. I was so emotionally drained from it, I put it away for a month, and then came back to it and went back into the world of Elena.

My question was, what makes someone enter into a lifestyle of BDSM? What makes them enjoy pain? Enjoy being degraded? Then I realized, it’s not a matter of enjoyment necessarily. It’s a matter of your world spinning out of control. And this is a way to ground yourself. Elena has become so special to me. The first book is tragic and I cried several times while writing it. The second book, she starts to find herself, and in the third book … well, the third book leaves your mouth hanging open. I hope you enjoy this journey with me. It’s been an emotional one.

So, this is one of those “dirty” Melody Anne books. She has a way of making them so freakin’ dirty without using any naughty words… seriously. I’ve never read any other author that can do that. It’s definitely for the 18+ crowd. I’m going to go as far as people with triggers from rape, abuse, and anything related, don’t read it! It’s unquestionably a dark, gritty read. So you people who one starred it because it was “too dark” and “degrading” Holy hell people, you were warned in the synopsis for cripesake… Does this ring a bell???????? “This book is intended for mature audiences only. There are explicit scenes of abuse, language and questionable sexual situations. Eighteen and older only. This story is about a woman so abused she turns into a person most wouldn’t even fathom becoming.” “Explicit scenes of abuse.” Duh… you no like dark, you no read book… but don’t read it when you knew it was dark then give it a bad review because you don’t like dark books… You people make my ass twitch!

Mary is you typical 16 going on 17 year old. She’s kidnapped and brainwashed to believe she’s Elena the sex slave. She’s one tough cookie and for good reason. The men “grooming” her for the Master are vicious to say the least. She learns quickly that keeping her mouth shut keeps her from getting beat.

I’m still not sure how much the other characters are going to play a part in the next installments so I won’t mention them. I will say this, not everyone is who them seem and I’ve deemed most untrustworthy. Be careful who you put your faith in.

This is a fast paced, action packed thriller that is extremely sinister. Mmmmm, my kind of book! It’s an extremely gripping story with powerful characters and boat loads of tension. This is not, I repeat NOT for the faint of heart. Onto the next book, Forever Lost

OMG, this year had so many good books!!! Since I forgot to do a top 5 in the middle of the year, here is my top 10 picks for the year.  I”ve got a little bit of everything from Anthologies to Mafia to BDSM to Paranormal to Contempary.  Some of my favorite authors make double appearances.  I’ve also got a few WOTR authors! James, James, James. Wow….all I can say! He met his match with Amy.  Damn…in the first few pages James showed his dominant side and Amy soaked it up. Amy was strong minded and stood her ground with James….except in the bedroom. James’ past plays a big part in how he is today.  Amy accepted James as he was and didn’t fear his past. The power struggle between James and Amy is great and watch out for sex… hot, hot hot!
Although James tries to surrender some control to Amy, he struggled with it. Amy needed space and walked away from James to find that space. I enjoyed the book so much that I drove right into Book 2. James and Amy were meant to be together and I couldn’t wait to see how Anna brings them together as she continued writing their story. A page turner I couldn’t put down!!

Of course James kept a watch on Amy. James and Amy finally got back together. Amy’s strong will and independence was a force that wouldn’t be pushed aside. James struggled with coming to terms with that force while keeping Amy safe and with him. Amy helped James heal through the results of his past so that he could give Amy what she needed….shared control. Their relationship was to be built on compromise outside the bedroom but James wasn’t giving up any control in the bedroom except for the fact that Amy had him hook, line, and sinker. Steamy hot!
OMG….and then Amy willing and wanting to go into the swanky club with James, his sister and her new husband …holy moly you knew it was gonna be good. It was! Then……People from James’ past play into the story. What spook!  James ‘ bodyguard Matthew and Amy’s bodyguard Sonia connect and are an item too… I am thinking that they will be the main characters in the future…😉
I couldn’t put the book down! A fantastic read! Can’t wait to see what Book 3 holds!

Ok, this is the bit where I have to sell myself. Why is it so much easier to write about sexy blokes! Anyway.

I am a British author, from the depths of the rural countryside near London. In a previous life, I was an Accountant from the age of twenty-one. I still do that on occasions, but most of my life is now spent intermingling writing while looking after my husband, two children and two cats (probably in the inverse order to the one listed!). When I have some spare time I can also be found writing poetry, baking cakes (and eating them), or behind a camera snapping like a mad paparazzi.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. It was also around this time that I became one of the founding members of a dramatic/erotic/dark roleplaying group on Twitter. It was wildly popular with both English and American followers. The writing helped me to overcome my depression by giving me an outlet to channel my thoughts into and not sit around worrying all day about things that would never happen. I took over responsibility for management of the group and responsibility for the development of our storylines. As well as playing at least ten different characters in the group ranging from an innocent virgin, bloodthirsty assassin and even a male lover. The success of the role-play spurred me on to writing novels.

I have a love of travelling and like to bring this to my stories to give them the air of reality. Surrendered Control, my first book released in November 2016, combines two of my favourite travel destinations. India is where I lived for eighteen months with my husband and two children. My young son was only six months old when we travelled there. It was a fabulous time for us all and they learnt so much about the differing cultures, as well as, much to my husband’s chagrin, spending lots of money in the silk shops. The Control series will feature lots of international travel.

I have always been an avid reader. Mainly murder mystery in the past but with Beautiful Bastard I discovered a whole new set of novels and I haven’t looked back since. I like my hero’s hot and hunky with a dirty mouth. My heroines demur but with spunk. And my books in a kick arse series.

This book isn’t anything like what I’ve written before. I had a dream, the opening scene of this book, actually. And I woke up and lay there for a while, and still couldn’t push it away, so I got up, wrote the first chapter. Then I lay back down and was back out of bed within fifteen minutes, where I gave up on sleep and sat at my computer all night and all the next day until my eyes wouldn’t stay open anymore. Then for the next week, all I did was eat and sleep (minimally) and the first draft was born. I was so emotionally drained from it, I put it away for a month, and then came back to it and went back into the world of Elena.

My question was, what makes someone enter into a lifestyle of BDSM? What makes them enjoy pain? Enjoy being degraded? Then I realized, it’s not a matter of enjoyment necessarily. It’s a matter of your world spinning out of control. And this is a way to ground yourself. Elena has become so special to me. The first book is tragic and I cried several times while writing it. The second book, she starts to find herself, and in the third book … well, the third book leaves your mouth hanging open. I hope you enjoy this journey with me. It’s been an emotional one.

This book is intended for mature audiences only. There are explicit scenes of abuse, language and questionable sexual situations. Eighteen and older only. This story is about a woman so abused she turns into a person most wouldn’t even fathom becoming.

So, this is one of those “dirty” Melody Anne books. She has a way of making them so freakin’ dirty without using any naughty words… seriously. I’ve never read any other author that can do that. It’s definitely for the 18+ crowd. I’m going to go as far as people with triggers from rape, abuse, and anything related, don’t read it! It’s unquestionably a dark, gritty read. So you people who one stared it because it was “too dark” and “degrading” Holy hell people, you were warned in the synopsis for cripesake… Does this ring a bell???????? “This book is intended for mature audiences only. There are explicit scenes of abuse, language and questionable sexual situations. Eighteen and older only. This story is about a woman so abused she turns into a person most wouldn’t even fathom becoming.” “Explicit scenes of abuse.” Duh… you no like dark, you no read book… but don’t read it when you knew it was dark then give it a bad review because you don’t like dark books… You people make my ass twitch!

Mary is you typical 16 going on 17 year old. She’s kidnapped and brainwashed to believe she’s Elena the sex slave. She’s one tough cookie and for good reason. The men “grooming” her for the Master are vicious to say the least. She learns quickly that keeping her mouth shut keeps her from getting beat.

I’m still not sure how much the other characters are going to play a part in the next installments so I won’t mention them. I will say this, not everyone is who them seem and I’ve deemed most untrustworthy. Be careful who you put your faith in.

This is a fast paced, action packed thriller that is extremely sinister. Mmmmm, my kind of book! It’s an extremely gripping story with powerful characters and boat loads of tension. This is not, I repeat NOT for the faint of heart. Onto the next book, Forever Lost

Ok when I was asked to read this book I was thinking “BDSM, hells yeah!” At the same time I hadn’t read any of the other books from the series so I didn’t know if I would be missing something or not.
Luckily, I didn’t need to read the other books and I enjoyed this one so much they’ve been added to my TBR list.
So we have Alyce O’Connell trying to get her thesis on BDSM approved so she can get her degree to be a psychologist. She is doing everything she can to provide for her autistic daughter and herself after getting out of a very bad marriage.
When she is put into contact with Master Kaleb to find out about true submission things get interesting.
After seeing her, before her sister got them kicked out at The New Beginnings club, he can’t get her out of his mind.
Both of these characters have been burned by ex’s and you can tell in the way they act.
Trace has done a great job in putting you into Alyce’s mind and her feelings both past and present on herself, submission, and sex in general ring true.
Master Kaleb does a excellent job with teacher Alyce what she needs to know for her thesis and helping her find the submissive within. He also does a excellent job letting her know that yes she’s a mom and her child will always come first, she’s also a woman that a man can fall in love with.
A Douchebag ex hubby, a bitchie sister, and a bi-polar mother also make a appearance.
All in all, this was a story about no matter how much you’ve been hurt in the past love is still out there if you let it happen.
