Joshua –

From the author of the St. Fleur series comes a fun tale of finding love in the emergency room.

The single life had been treating Hazel Rivera better than she’d anticipated. With no one to report to, she did as she pleased, which included if and when she’d have a man in her bed. She felt no shame in satisfying her own needs, but when toy-play goes wrong, she earns herself a visit to the emergency room.

Squirming in pain, the last thing she expected was to find a sexy nurse assigned to her room. She could lose herself in a man like him—sinful eyes, full lips, and a kindhearted attitude—but before she can catch Joshua Bradley again, she’s sent home.

When life hands them a second chance, will they risk their hearts?

Jason

Being stood up for a first date was the last thing on Ava King’s mind. Yet Mr. Wrong opened the door to Mr. Sexy, who’s already sitting next to her at the bar. One drink becomes two, and going against her own code, she goes home with the charming stranger.

Waking in Jason’s foreign bed sends her into a panic, and she escapes before any morning-after awkwardness can ensue.

Can fate bring them together again to see if their chemistry transcends one steamy night of passion?

Wes-

Nurse. Mom. Daughter. Natalia Kruze wore many hats, but mom was the role she was most proud of. As a single mom, she couldn’t be everywhere at once, but she had been blessed with a patient son and helpful parents. Dating wasn’t high on the priority list, so it was safe to say it had been years since she’d experienced any kind of electrifying spark from a man.

With her defenses low after missing another soccer game, a patient catches her eye. Sexy and decidedly stubborn, Wes Wilkins succeeds in leaving his ER visit with her number.

Had they finally found the love they deserved, or will they put their dreams second to their kids’ needs?

#AudioReview – risky gamble by: Vivian Ward

38670992. sy475

From Vivian Ward comes a story of pleasure, lies, lust, and love.

He must have her—all of her.
And she must write a story that will blow her career wide open.

Colton tries to keep his sadistic needs to himself but the young, beautiful journalist is far too tempting. He doesn’t know she’s collecting information to publish his dirty laundry. She doesn’t know how dirty things are about to get.

Will they both get what they want? Or is it too much of a risky gamble?

****WARNING: This book contains sexually explicit content that some may find offensive or disturbing. This is the MILDEST book in the series. You have been warned.****

Received a copy of the audio version from the author for an honest review.

Colton has built his career and reputation as being a prominent businessman. What many do not know is he is an owner of a sex club and if this ever got out it would ruin his reputation. Aly is a journalist who needs a big break to get her career started.

Aly may just get her big shot when Colton walks into the flower shop she works at. The chemistry is explosive between these two from the moment Colton came into the flower shop. When Aly finds out who Colton is, she wants to know more about him and his company. Colton finds himself infatuated with Aly and has to get to know her. This is a short read (about 3 hours on audio) and I don’t want to give much away. Colton has to have her but it maybe the end of his reputation.

The narration was well done. He went from each characters POV without pulling me from the story. This is a cliff hanger where both Colton and Aly are taking a gamble. All I need to know is will he get the girl or will the girl ruin his reputation to jump start her career and if he does get the girl how will she handle his dark side. I’m about to find out downloading Risky Pleasures next.

I received this book from the author for an honest opinion/Review.

I love this author as I have stressed many times before.  When she gave me a copy to read, I jumped.

This book has a character with a medical condition I had never heard of or knew existed.  After reading what a person with Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome deals with, my heart hurts for them.  Knowing how Chloe has too guard herself off from people because the stress of hurt, fear, anxiety, and or abandonment triggers an attack.  I can’t imagine how lonely they must feel other then what our main character goes through.  She has been through this monthly cycle since she was 5.  Along with the lonely feeling in the cycle, she has the deal with the guilt of her parent’s divorce and other stressors that affect her in her adult life.  Chloe has been through some stuff.

Max is a real gentleman.  We meet him in Hard Drive an you have no choice but to fall in love with him.  He is a romantic art heart.  When he meets Chloe, he is so excited when they go out but once they kiss it triggers her syndrome.

The entire book is Max helping Chloe get over her trauma and get healthy.  It’s an amazing story of support and caring while learning to help the one you love with you whole heart to be better.    Seeing Chloe get stronger and more confident was amazing.  Seeing Max built her trust and respect made him such a swoon worthy male.

I loved all the side characters especially Rico. He is such a player I can’t wait t see him fall hard in book 2.

I received this book from the author for an honest opinion/Review.

I am a GIANT fan of this author and read everything she has.  SO when She sent this older series to me, I jumped to read.

This is the prequal story to explain Chloe and Max from book 1.  If you haven’t red the series, like me, I suggest starting here too.  However, you could read it at any point.

This story introduces us to Max, his girlfriend Tori, his best friend Quinn and his trainer Chuck.  It seems Max is on the track to become a pro-MMA fighter.  He enjoys fighting but also really wants to finish his degree to be a fitness trainer.

The story is a quick look into what drives Max to go from fighter to trainer/coach.  We see what happens to him and changes his path of life.

Review by Twinsie Dee

USA Today Bestselling Author Chelsea Camaron was born and raised in Coastal North Carolina. She currently resides in Southern Louisiana with her husband and two children but her heart is always Carolina day dreaming.

Chelsea always wanted to be a writer, but like most of us, let fear of the unknown grab a hold of her dream; she realized that if she was going to tell her daughter to go for her dreams, that it was time to follow her own advice.

Chelsea grew up turning wrenches alongside her father, and from that grew her love for old muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, which just so happened to inspired her ‘Daddy’s Girls’ series. Her love for reading has sparked a new love for writing and she currently has a few more projects in the works.

When she is not spending her days writing you can find her playing with her kids, attending car shows, going on motorcycle rides on the back of her husband’s Harley, snuggling down with her new favorite book or watching any movie that Vin Diesel might happen to be in.

She hates being serious and is still a big kid at heart. She is a small town country girl enjoying life and, Chelsea hopes that her readers remember not to take life too seriously and to embrace your inner five year old, because five year olds know how to enjoy the simple things in life and how to always have fun.

I received this book from the author for an honest opinion/Review.

GAH!!!  I am such a crazy person for classic lit and I FLOVE the Count of Monte Cristo, so I was soooo on board for this book!

The book is obviously a bit different then the original hence the Twisted Classics series name but don’t worry classic friends, you will enjoy this book just as much even with the changes.

Will/The Count/ Eddie is after the woman and the men who put him in prison.  He is going to destroy them one at a time.  But taking HER down is the biggest victory for him.

Mercy is the boss.  She is ruthless and takes no prisoners which is why she is the one in charge.  She put her family away and took over the empire but soon discovers what a rotten empire she has under her.

The chemistry between Will and Mercy is great.  So many times, I was like JUST TELL HER WILL and then other times I was like GAH WHY DID YOU DO THAT MERCY!!!

The story line will keep you on your toes with the action and all the bad guys.  I swear this town was like Gotham with all the bad dudes running amuck!!

The final chapters when everything comes to the front and we see even more things shake out I legit did a gasp!! I was wondering and hoping and then even more giddy when I read about….eeeep I cant tell you sorry but trust me….if you love classic lit or if you are a fan of Monica’s stories then you will want to pick this one up.

CHAPTER REVEAL:

Chapter One

Natalia

“Jeremy!” I yell and stare at the pile of clothes next to the hamper.

“What?”

My eyes narrow on my son’s beautiful face, and I remind myself how much I adore him. “Excuse me?”

“Yes, ma’am?”

I nod. “Were you working on your basketball skills and failed?”

Jeremy looks from me to the pile I’m still pointing at. “Oh.”

I exhale with exasperation. “Look, honey, we need to work like a team. Please clean up. I need to get you to school so I can start my shift. Don’t forget I won’t make it to today’s game. I’ll be home right after, so grab a ride with Mrs. Sanders if Grandma and Pops aren’t there.”

After kissing his temple, seeing as I can no longer reach the top of his head, I rush to plate the breakfast I threw together for us. This is my life. It may not have turned out like I dreamed, but I wouldn’t trade Jeremy in for the world.

I was a young mother at twenty-one—not quite a teen pregnancy but still hard. Jeremy’s father decided rather quickly fatherhood wasn’t for him and left us the moment two lines appeared. Thankfully, my parents stepped in and helped us. I managed to finish my Bachelor of Science in nursing with their assistance. I can’t count the number of times I showed up to class with spit-up on me. I’m sure if they swabbed my clothes in one of my labs, they would have found all sorts of new-mother fun.

After fourteen years of doing the parenting gig on my own, I can safely say it’s still a challenge. Dating is rare, and my parents are still around to help. I don’t ask for a lot of help now that Jeremy is older, but they still have us visit often.

Jeremy runs into the kitchen, backpack in hand, and picks up the fork on his plate. In a matter of moments, the plate is devoid of the eggs and toast I put on it. My kid looks up at me and to the stove, looking for the pan I already put in the dishwasher. “No more?”

“Grab a banana. We gotta go,” I tell him and toss my wallet into a small bag.

He grunts and carries his plate straight to the dishwasher without rinsing it. I sigh but don’t say a word. Over the years I’ve become better at picking my battles, and this isn’t one.

When we get to his school, we exchange “I love yous,” and I pat his thigh good-bye. When he leans over and hugs me, I smile. Squeezing him, I enjoy the rare treat of a teenage hug at school.

“Bye, honey.”

“Bye, Mom.”

My next stop, after watching him walk up the steps, is coffee. Thursday mornings are my designated java pick-up days. I rattle off four different orders and drive the last few blocks to work once I have them.

“Thank God!” Jenna cries and plucks her order from the carrier.

“One of those mornings?” I ask and set the rest on a table.

“One word. Puberty.” Jenna drinks a healthy gulp of joe.

I nod and lock up my things. “Gotcha. I’ll be missing yet another of Jeremy’s games if it makes you feel any better.” Jenna shoots me a meaningful look. She may not be a single mom like I am, but she misses her own share of activities. “Well, here’s hoping today is an easy one.”

Later that evening, I look at the clock and sigh. Jeremy’s game is halfway through by now, which means my guilt is high and I’m almost through with my twelve-hour shift. I hate missing so many of his games. These are moments I know I can’t get back. It hurts the worst when I see understanding in Jeremy’s eyes versus anger or frustration.

He’s a great kid. He does well in school, gives me very little attitude, and is talented in sports. I’m hoping if he keeps it up, he can earn a scholarship for college, but we have a few years left to really worry about that.

“Hey, stop that!” Jenna scolds.

“Stop what?” I ask and set down the marker I was using.

Jenna waves her hand around my face. “That. Honey, I know you hate missing his games, but he understands, so quit beating yourself up about it.”

“That’s the problem, Jenna.” I sigh. “He’s only a boy. He shouldn’t have to be this understanding about all the games I miss.”

“No, he shouldn’t, but life isn’t fair. You’ve got a great kid, girl. No matter what you think, you’re doing really well by him.”

“Natalia?” Kara, another nurse on shift, calls out.

“Yeah?”

“You’ve got a live one in room one.”

I nod and squeeze past Jenna who pats me on my back. “On my way.”

Pulling up the patient’s admittance tab on the computer, I read the notes and frown. Forty-year-old male with testicular pain. Walking down the hall toward the triage room, I sift through my knowledge of all the possible things responsible for testicular pain.

Once I learned I was having a boy, I put in extra focus into male anatomy and physiology. I was determined to keep my boy safe and healthy to my best ability. This thankfully helped me tackle those not-so-fun talks about puberty.

“Good evening—”

Any other words centered around good bedside manners blank in my brain the moment our eyes meet. Crap.

His crew-cut hairstyle highlights his strong jaw. A light smattering of hair grows along it, and my hand itches with the need to see if it will feel soft or rough along my palm. His jaw twitches, and I find a sheen of sweat on his brow. The pain reflecting in his hazel eyes pulls me back from my fog.

I clear my throat and hope I’m not blushing. “What brings you in this evening, Mr.—”

“Wilkins. Call me Wes. I don’t suppose there’s a male nurse on staff?”

My brows knit at his tone. “Sorry, there’s not,” I say. “What’s bothering you that a female nurse can’t help you with?”

“No, it’s not—” He attempts to sit up, and he grunts in pain.

I move to his side. “Lie back down,” I tell him gently.

“S-sorry. Don’t mean to be an ass.”

Concern fills me at his words and the way his eyelids lower in pain. “Talk to me. There’s no reason for you to suffer any pain. I assure you I can help even if I don’t have the same parts as you.”

“Definitely don’t have the same parts,” he mumbles. He draws in a deep breath and clears his throat. “My testicles hurt, and they’re swollen.”

“Okay, did you sustain an injury to them?” I ask reassuringly.

He looks away, and his words are too soft to hear.

I place my hand on his shoulder, and a weird sensation travels up my arm at the contact. He turns toward me, and I see he felt whatever just happened. “I can’t help you if you don’t talk to me,” I say, ignoring the strange event and removing my hand.

“I had a vasectomy yesterday.”

“Okay.” I think of common complications that could occur with the procedure. “Swelling and discomfort are common in the first forty-eight hours—”

His lips pull into a hard line. “It looks like I have three testicles.”

My eyebrow raises. “Three?”

“Yes.”

“Okay. We’ll look at it in a second. What have you done in the last twelve hours?”

His eyes dart away again, and I realize whatever he’s been doing was not what his doctor ordered. “Come on, fess up. If your testicles are this swollen, you weren’t lying down and resting like I’m sure your doctor ordered,” I say in my mom voice.

“I was at my kids’ baseball game…”

The way he says it leaves me thinking there is more. “Mhmm… sitting on the stands?”

He shakes his head. “No, coaching.”

“I see. Did anything happen, since I expect you weren’t sitting in a chair relaxing while you coached?”

“One of the boys fell. I, um, helped him up, and that’s when I stumbled in pain.”

“I don’t suppose you coach toddlers?” I ask, knowing he’s going to say no.

“No, freshmen.”

“Definitely surpasses the ten-pound weight restriction.”

His eyebrows snap together. “Look, I wasn’t going to miss the game!”

I raise my hands in the air. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any offense. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been here all day, and I missed my son’s baseball game tonight. One of many.” I whisper the latter and turn away. “I’ll go see if the doctor is available to perform your exam.”

“Wait!” he calls out when I reach the door.

I stop but don’t face him. I can’t. If I do, he’ll see the tears forming. I’m never this short with my patients. I chalk it up to my emotions after missing out on another event in Jeremy’s life.

After a moment, he apologizes and I walk out. This handsome stranger has pressed more conflicting buttons than I care to admit. Ignoring the fact that a man hasn’t managed to fluster both me and my lady bits in… well, ever, he’s a patient and therefore off limits.

I received this book from the author for an honest opinion/Review.

After falling crazy in love with Jason and enjoying Joshua, when AJ offered me book 3 I was alllll on board!!!

I gotta say the way the characters are meeting in this series is KILLING ME!!  Wes has some issues with his “business”” and nurse Natalie is there to assist the doctor. *Snickers*   The chemistry between the two characters is tangible and makes you want to see how or when they meet up again.

I will admit I WONDERED if Wes going to be who I thought he was and loved the story line.  The two are very interested in each other but must worry about how their kids will take seeing their parent date.  Natalie’s son has never seen his mom really dating.  Reece’s dad just got divorced so dating could be odd.

I loved how the boys were always to #1 in both parents’ minds.  They worried and wondered if dating would be a good idea or cause issues with the kids all the while dying to be with the other one.

The epilogue is perfect and made me super happy for where these characters have been, and we can see their future.

Dude!  A Silver Fox!!???  YES PLEASE!!!  A Book Nerd!!?? HELL YES!!

I have to say I was hooked on Jason from his first scene in the book.  Hottie older man flirting and hitting on a woman at the bar.  His opening line to Ava had me in stitches!!!

Ava is stood up on a date but flirting and going home with Jason was a lot more then she expected when she woke up the following morning.  When she runs into him again……OMG I was dead!!  I mean Hell!!  That was a perfect way for these two characters to re-connect!!

Jason has been burned by love but is still hopeful that he will find an HEA of his own.  Even with his busy lob and caring for him ailing mom, he still believes there is someone out there for him.  He is a dreamy sigh kinda guy ladies!!

Ava is a sweet girl who wants love but has walled her heart off for fear of being hurt.  He opening to Jason is a huge deal.

When the two reconnect and begin to date, we see them both struggle to keep their emotion in check.  He is afraid too much too soon will fun her off and she is afraid of too much too soon will lose him.  They are such a great story.  The epilogue is a favorite of mine and I would so love to read more from these two because the ending scene could be fun stuff to read them navigating together!!

Hailey Sullivan.
The girl next door.
My best friend.
We met when we were three, and have been inseparable most of our lives— that is until I fell in love with her. I knew I had to bury my feelings; our friendship was more important. I was willing to love her from afar, and was doing just that until tragedy struck.
It’s funny how one moment can change everything. All the things I thought I’d never have become possibilities, and all my reasons for staying away from her seem inconsequential. Sometimes all we need is one more day; one more hour; one more moment. Just one more was all I wanted, and I’d prove that Hailey and I were more than just best friends.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This is one of my favorite friends to lovers books. Hailey and Max have been best friends for as long as they have known each other.  They both have such strong feelings for one another but they both suppress those feelings because they don’t want to lose the friendship they have. In the midst of trying to hang on to their friendship and forge their own paths they find themselves drifting apart.

When Max receives Hailey’s wedding invitation in the mail, he realizes she has moved on and he is crushed ok maybe a bit more than crushed. However, what he does at the wedding shreds what friendship they have. That is until Hailey world is turned upside down and inside out. Max is there for her even if they will never be anything more than just friends.

I have to say Max was on my shit list but seeing how he stepped up and was there for Hailey not expecting anything in return. He was just there for her and was being the best friend she needed him to be for her.  The things he did for her started to melt that big block of ice that built up around my heart toward him.

This book had my emotions all over I was laughing, crying then wanted to punch someone in particular.  These two had so much to overcome and the back and forth of them wanting to take things further but then not wanting to ruin their friendship had my heart in knots. Love makes you do some crazy things. The comedic relief that Max’s brother, Micah, provided was stellar. He kept Max on his toes. I loved him so much and if he ever got a book I would be all over that.
