My husband traded me away to save his own life…
And now I belong to the devil.
One night and everything in my life changed. Two words and my world turned dark.
“Take her”.
Owing the most ruthless crime lord in Garden City five million dollars, my husband chose to trade me and my children away to save himself.
I was on the cusp of freedom, so close to divorcing that scumbag I was married to.
Now I’m enslaved to a man who is obsessed with me. A man so wicked and beautiful, they call him Lucifer.
So alluring, he makes the angels weep with envy. He’s so powerful, I can’t stop myself from bending to his will.
He’s determined to master me, and he won’t rest until I give him all.
He wants my light, and he wants my dark.
He wants my body, and he wants my heart.
But most of all, he wants the one thing I can’t give him. The one thing I can’t bear to part with…

GOD, THIS REALLY IS A GOOD STORY
5 Stars
So, this book was recommended to me by my friend Kathryn. Her review says to put your brain in your back pocket for this one and now I know why. It’s an unconventional kind of connection. He’s not a bad guy, at least not to Lily and her kids, but cross him or hurt someone he loves and he becomes the monster you’ve always feared. I guess I could see this really happening, but it would fear and far between I’m afraid. Good thing it’s a book and not real life.
Lily and her children are traded to a sort of mobster (Lucifer) by her asshole husband for debts he incurred through said mobster. Once Lucifer lays eyes on Lily he knows he must have her. He must possess her. And he must make her completely his. Lily is not so sure, but coming off a yearlong celibacy, she’s immediately ignited by his presence. Lucifer will do whatever it takes to earn her trust and make her understand that she’s all he’s ever wanted or needed. The kids ended up being a bonus for him as they are so damn cute and don’t ever mention their jerkface father once.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a very quick read and had plenty of highs and lows to keep me turning pages in record time. I literally read it from cover to cover in one day. The characters are enjoyable and demanding. The dialogue flowed well and the pacing was rather swift. There was a good amount of tension and suspense that lead to an unbelievable conclusion. I loved it!
