I was given a copy of the book for an honest review.

When I first read about how Colette started the fury that unleashed on James, I didn’t know what she has said that was so bad that her brothers would cause the harm to James that they did.  The Prologue was perfect to explain what really happened.  Colette’s shame was the pleasure and enjoyment of the physical connection with James.  She felt loved with his gifts.  Her shame came from the ignorance of her brothers from their brain-washing of the couple that took them in and off the streets. Colette was harmed by her brothers.  My heart ached for everything Colette went through.

When Colette was hospitalized, the efforts of James and Amy put Michael in Colette’s life.  He willingly agreed to answer any and all Colette’s questions on the BDSM lifestyle to help her heal.  Michael and Colette fit together and helped each other heal.  This is a beautiful story.

Being a novella, this was a quick read yet one you wouldn’t want to miss because it filled the Colette gap.  Now, who the hell is Ryan??? LOL!!!  I’m waiting!!!! 🙂

Ok, this is the bit where I have to sell myself. Why is it so much easier to write about sexy blokes! Anyway.

I am a British author, from the depths of the rural countryside near London. In a previous life, I was an Accountant from the age of twenty-one. I still do that on occasions, but most of my life is now spent intermingling writing while looking after my husband, two children and two cats (probably in the inverse order to the one listed!). When I have some spare time I can also be found writing poetry, baking cakes (and eating them), or behind a camera snapping like a mad paparazzi.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. It was also around this time that I became one of the founding members of a dramatic/erotic/dark roleplaying group on Twitter. It was wildly popular with both English and American followers. The writing helped me to overcome my depression by giving me an outlet to channel my thoughts into and not sit around worrying all day about things that would never happen. I took over responsibility for management of the group and responsibility for the development of our storylines. As well as playing at least ten different characters in the group ranging from an innocent virgin, bloodthirsty assassin and even a male lover. The success of the role-play spurred me on to writing novels.

I have a love of travelling and like to bring this to my stories to give them the air of reality. Surrendered Control, my first book released in November 2016, combines two of my favourite travel destinations. India is where I lived for eighteen months with my husband and two children. My young son was only six months old when we travelled there. It was a fabulous time for us all and they learnt so much about the differing cultures, as well as, much to my husband’s chagrin, spending lots of money in the silk shops. The Control series will feature lots of international travel.

I have always been an avid reader. Mainly murder mystery in the past but with Beautiful Bastard I discovered a whole new set of novels and I haven’t looked back since. I like my hero’s hot and hunky with a dirty mouth. My heroines demur but with spunk. And my books in a kick arse series.

Holy effing what?!?! It’s an epic journey! This is definitely not what I expected. Mind bending and maddening! Be ready to be wrecked, and I mean this in the best possible way. This is a twisted ride into a new age zombie apocalypse. Grace is our main character and boy, has she had a past. This makes her extremely likeable and relatable. The setting is intense from jump. There are drugs, partying, witchcraft, and zombies…I mean, what more could you ask for? But lets be real for a moment. Grace has experienced hell growing up. She has come to terms and feels she is stronger for it.  Nothing slows down. The story is extremely action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.  This is all about having your quality of life leveling up on a permanent f’ing opposite day with some giggly trips down memory lane. Grace is an amazingly flawed character that is continually growing emotionally and mentally. Gideon saved her and they have fallen in love. This author knows how to make the apocalypse romantic and STEAMY! As a matter of fact, all the characters that are introduced into this story are all fighting some sort of demon, their own apocalypse.  I was a mess reading this….but it was totally, absolutely worth it. Don’t let this discourage you. Once I hit this bump in the road the story just got better and better. I felt like I was right there and her shoes. This is an epic page turner and has made it to the top of my favorite reads. I. Can. Not. Wait. for the sequel. Bring it on! I am so ready!  I absolutely could not put this down. So many plot twists!  This series has made it to my top favorite, ever. If you like beautifully flawed characters with intense, action packed, and HAWT plots then you will love this just like I do. This author! SMH….LOL! I AM HOOKED! THIS IS MY ADDICTION!  This series is taking it to the next level.

In every sweet moment there always seems to be a knife waiting to cut. This pretty much sums up the entire book, a beautiful disaster. Every time they are making headway or going in the right direction there is another PLOT TWIST! In this story we find more enemies and find some new friends and allies. Asher is breaking down and has confessed he wants Elle. Elle confessed she wants Asher. But now they have different obstacles standing in their way. On top of this Ari is still missing but is safe. He was given the opportunity to see what was really going on and now all the brothers are smack dab in the middle again. A lot of loose ends are brought together in this story with all the proper twists and turns to get you there. The books are all very intense and this one is no different. All of the characters are fighting their own personal demons while having to fight the Gothi. Many different emotions are flying around, along with wraiths! The Lakes are taking back control of the Union and Asher, as the Keeper, is doing what the Keeper is supposed to do, lead. There are traitors and unexpected allies around every corner. Continually keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next. This was a very exciting and suspenseful installment to the Union Series. A lot of questions get answered but I have so many more questions! I literally finished this book and started book 5 right away, which has been incredible so far. This is a series that is completely consuming. I go to bed thinking of the characters and wake up ready to find out what happens next. I am still rooting for Asher and Elle in the end! I’m biting my nails trying to figure out if they will get their happily ever after….oh and a few others too!

After some tutoring and testing, she informed my parents that the reason I was having trouble in school wasn’t that I was dumb but instead dyslexic. When my stepfather heard this, he decided to take me to a used bookstore with the belief that the best way to improve my reading skills was to read. Some of the books were hard to get through at first, but with his encouragement, I refused to give up. We made many trips to that bookstore, and I especially loved the science fiction and fantasy sections. Then one day, after complaining about the ending of a particular book, my stepfather told me that if I didn’t like the books that I had been reading, then to write one myself—so I did.

My first attempt resulted in a horribly written western when I was fourteen, staring a cocky gun-slinging cowboy by the name Curt Calhoun. Curt along with his seven brothers, who all shared C names in common, may never have seen the pages of a book, but that was the day I started writing, and never stopped.

Ok, so I have to admit that this is the first book of Teresa Gabelman’s that I have read. Oh holy hell, why have I not read them?! That is the question that keeps going through my head right now. Since I haven’t read the others this is safe to say that this can be read as a standalone. I never found myself trying to figure out something from the past characters. I could tell they were all interwoven, as they should be, but Dell and Roslyn….holy hotness!  The story is full and complete.

 

Dell is the quiet type but he is also the type to have Alpha tendencies and to get stuff done. Roslyn is a new recruit to the pack but she has secrets, like huge secrets. She is running but no one knows from what. Dell literally saves her and at this point he cannot deny the pull of his mate. Roslyn feels it too but her emotions are a hot mess. As these two become closer she is faced with her past and makes a hard decision by trying to leave the pack. Here is where we get to see the real side of Dell and Roslyn. As she is on the brink of disaster and about to die, yet again, the Lee County wolves step up to help her.

 

The story sucked me in right from the absolute beginning. Emotions are intense and the action and sexy time are even better!  It’s the perfect combination for a badass story. As I said at the beginning this is my first Teresa Gableman book but it is definitely not the last!

I received this book from the authors for an honest review.

Man was I loving this book.  I sat and couldn’t put it down.  I was loving Liz, Dex, and Rev in the first book.  I gotta admit I wasn’t sure which guy I wanted Liz with.  Hell, I would have been thrilled with a little MFM action!!  But when I got to see the dynamics between Liz and Dex, they totally belong together.

Liz has lived in the shadow of her sister Anna forever. She never thought she was enough, so she took on the party girl, cant be hurt persona.  She wasn’t content to sit but needed to travel.  She need adventure and the thought of settling down to be the Blood Ravagers Oracle kinda scared her a bit.  But she demanded the right to go and figure out what was missing for the spell to bind her, her sister, and the guys together.

Dex has had a rough life.  A lone wolf hiding from his past and the horrors of his family’s murders.  He is not a fan of The Council and will always protect the guys in the Blood Ravagers.    When he is told to go and help Liz, he flips out.  His rut will be happening, and he is already attracted to his alpha’s sister in law.  Nothing good can come of this especially when the alpha demands you leave her alone…hand off!!

Dex and Liz go through a lot to realize they bother are MORE then they think they are.  They both have a lot of opening and soul searching to happen to finally realize they too deserve a HEA.  The angst is great.  The “rutting scenes” are fun times to read 😉 but the connection they both make and the realizations they make on this journey turn their lives upside down.

Rev………GAH…where is my older then dirty vampire.  What has happened to him?  I so need to read and see how the guys save this dark soul.

I have to be honest. At the beginning of the series I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Asher or not. Due to him being so closed off trying to protect himself he is a bit socially inept. But in this book we really see him evolving and now I don’t know what we would do without the one and only Asher Lake (and his mints). Actually all the characters are evolving. Asher wants to be a better man, wants to do good things for the Ani-shift community but there are others that are going to stand in his way. You can tell he wants to love too. Oooh how he wants to let it all go! At least this is what I read into it anyway, haha! As he starts to trust and opens up to be trusted all hell starts to break loose. All of the Lakes share a love for Asher and they will do anything to keep him alive. There are secrets that are being discovered. But with answers always come more questions. The new questions and the decisions that are being made will continue to keep you on the edge of your seat and trying to figure out the next move. Look out too because this one will throw you for a loop!

MORE Please! I am loving Ryder and Riley!! Right from jump we are smack in the middle of Riley escaping from some bad people. Right from there, the author had me hooked. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to put this book down and the author did not disappoint. Riley is full of sass, sarcasm, and wit. It’s the perfect combination for a strong female lead. But she soon has met her match when she meets Ryder…. Or has Ryder met his match with Riley? Ryder is more of a loner but has been around the block a time or two, just saying. When they collide sparks fly! Whew! I want to tell you more but I just can’t. And it’s killing me! There is never a dull moment with the characters or the story. The right amount of action, sarcasm, and sexy time! The bad pat about the story…is that it is over, lol! I do hope that we see more of this duo! Overall I recommend this book to everyone. Oh holy hotness! Whew! Ask no questions, tell no lies. Kinyi is one fierce Draqon female who I loved to hate. When I first met her I wanted to throat punch her but as I got to know her in the Draqon’s Hero I found out that she is just misunderstood. She is sent to Earth to find the White Horn. As she is scouring the worst areas she locates him in Cyn City. The problem is that Tane, aka White Horn, has no want or desire to go back to Kladuu. He has his reasons but Kinyi is relentless. Tane runs an underground fight club and Kinyi ends up being in the middle trying to prove herself to Tane. All hell breaks loose and they find out that Gideon is missing. Kinyi just knows that he is on Kladuu and know she must find a way back home. Tane feels an undeniable pull to Kinyi and vows to help her get home but has no plans on going with. Until….. well I can’t give it away but he does go home. Both of these characters are incredibly strong and independent. Both have their secrets and fears. But when these unravel it will blow your mind! The story starts in gritty Cyn City and ends on Kladuu but there is never a dull moment with these two. No matter how much I didn’t like Kinyi at first, she made it up to me with Tane. This is my favorite of the series. It is bittersweet as I don’t want the series to end but it is set up beautifully for the next series in Cyn City! I am hoping we might see some of the Kladuu characters in Cyn City, but only time will tell. Bravo, Pearl! You rocked this!

Emma meets Zane kind of by mistake when Zane makes sure she is safe after a small altercation at the bar. But Zane is a perfect gentleman and makes sure she gets in her car and leaves. This is where things start to get fun. Neither of them can stop thinking about themselves. Zane has no idea what’s going on. Emma’s friend leaves her the Paranormal Dating Agency card (that just doesn’t disappear) so Emma gives in to give it a try. These two crash together and stir it up! We get just the right amount of Alpha male, Bada** female, action and sexy time (wags eyebrows)! This is an easy quick read and just the right thing to get your blood pumping!

Vampires! Yes! It’s so hard to take a vampire story and make it unique. I often find that there is a lot of monotony with them. But this is hardly the case for the Blood Courtesans. In this world vampires are real and out in the open. They are normal people like you and me but they drink blood…maybe they are not what you consider completely normal, lol! Neriza is our female lead in Refrain. She lost her parents in a horrible car accident and this accident has left her sister paralyzed. Neriza is the sole provider for herself and her sister along with taking care of her parent’s debt. She decides to apply to be a Blood Courtesan. She tries to do this quietly as her uncle doesn’t agree with vampires paying for blood. Basically she gets rented for sex and blood. She has a unique quality about her that makes her a bit more valuable and she is accepted right away. She is essentially “rented” by Lyric (through his assistant) so that she can go on tour with the band and keep him sustained. Lyric happens to be the lead singer of the band Crimson Rivers, also her childhood crush, also a total hottie with an accent! He wants her gone and gone ASAP!  She can’t figure out why so she puts all of her effort into getting him to keep her so that she is not in trouble with the Madame at the agency. As these two are learning to work together she gets some terrible news and finds that her dad was in the middle of some shady dealings, and here is where the real fun begins. Neriza and Lyric do form a friendship and confide in each other about their pasts. As things heat up both of their pasts come to the present and we find that the world may not be as large as we all thought. I can’t give you ANY more of the story without giving away tons of spoilers. The intensity between Lyric and Neriza with the witty banter is enough to make you want to read the book. But all the crazy twists in between are what makes this story amazing!
