#Review – Man of Honor, Passion in Paradise Novel Book #6 by Sarah O’Rourke

Man of Honor (Passion in Paradise Book 6)

synopsis

Sheriff Zeke Monroe loves one woman…Honor McKinnon. He is willing to stake his entire future on protecting her…no matter what the cost.

Honor McKinnon knows she is broken. Her body and soul had been shattered by a violent attack years ago, and no one…not her sisters or anyone else in the tiny town of Paradise, especially the Sheriff…can change that. Rather than dealing with her wounds, she chooses to protect herself from any further damage, even if that means that she avoids the one chance at love. But Zeke is determined to break down Honor’s walls…and to find the persons responsible for hurting her and make them suffer.

He’s already killed for her once…and is willing to do it again if it means she’ll know safety and happiness.

What happens when Zeke refuses to allow Honor to ignore her past? Will Zeke’s love be passionate enough to break down her barriers? And can Zeke save Honor when her life is in danger once again?

Join Sarah O’Rourke in this epic culmination of the Men of the McKinnon Sisters stories…and find out how the Passion in Paradise series is always scorching hot! Standalone, romantica suspense.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

*blow out a breath*  WOW  This book…..its not just a story…it’s an epic journey for our characters.  We all know what happened to Honor and we all can see how the sheriff feels for her but to finally see the story and see their journey…….Without a doubt this is my favorite book in the series.  Zeke and Honor battle against so many different issue to be together.  Honor has gone through kidnapping, rape, torture, attempted murder and even stalking. This would probably kill most people but with her sheriff by her side pushing her and not letting her succumb to the darkness that is after her.

Folks this is a LONG A$$ Book but none of it is fluff or filler.  It is total story but you gotta be ready and prepared for everything that they will face together.  I absolutely loved Zeke and loved how he was so confident for his love for Honor that he claimed her 6 years ago. She was in no frame of mind to deal with this unconditional love. Throughout the book we can see Honor realizing her feelings for Zeke and also being completely terrified by them.

Some of my favorite scenes are with Honor and her cray family.  They are so solid but don’t know how to help their baby sister thought her dark times.    Other favorites are hearing our innocent Honor talking openly with her therapist.  SO funny!!  But what I really loved was the 4th of July chapter.  So much happens and so many realizations are made…my heart was thumping happily.

I am an epilogue whore so the epilogue made a tear come to my eye.  I love the set up for the next book and who will be falling into love.  This couple is going to be alot of fun to read about that is for sure…..

COMING AUGUST 23rd
I was running from
my husband, a man I thought I’d known.
Running from the
hell he had put me through.
He’d nearly destroyed
the woman I had once been and
I would do
whatever it took to regain my freedom.
I would lie, and cheat.
I would steal if it meant that I never had to go
back there.
I’d run and keep
running…
But there was one
problem. I hadn’t planned for Ashton Montgomery.
He was a
distraction I couldn’t allow. Not if I wanted to stay safe. I had to remain
distant, but he was relentless and had other ideas.
I caved because I
hadn’t thought it all through, not in detail.
If I had I would’ve
realized that you can only live in a fantasy world for so long before
everything came crashing in around you.
And those lives
you’ve destroyed along the way, make you no better than the monster you were
trying to break free from.
How could I have
been so careless?
It wasn’t meant to
turn out this way.
But the Rush of my freedom took control and I
forgot how important it was to keep the secret of who I had once been.
And now I had
nothing.

Only the fear that
the man I’d run from would find me again, and finish what he started.

I’ve just finished CA Harm’s best book to date. Hands down THE BEST! I have DEVOURED this book in THREE HOURS! And now I don’t know what to do with myself.

Rush is the first standalone from a brand new series from CA. It’s raw, I am literally STRIPPED of emotion right now. It’s racy, Ashton is SO FREAKING HOT, I swear I’m on fire. And it’s REAL, the feels are real, the heartache is real, the swoon is real. Everything is perfect!

CA Harms knows how to write alphas, delicious, dirty alphas that blow the mind while breaking through and burying themselves deep in the heart of a reader.. Ashton Montgomery is the best alpha CA has written, if he was a real person I’d be a pile of swoony, turned on goo, right now. He’s HOT. Utter sin, wrapped in a sublime package.

Our h is Kinsley, and my word did she break my heart but also make me smile so BIG. The fragile, wounded girl was actually a sexy, sassy female who turns out to be the PERFECT MATCH for Ash.

Rush, is written superbly. From start to end all the words piece together beautifully. The story line flows easily through a very solid foundation. The angst ranges from light to heavy to “damn my breath has gone”. The twist and turns laid out are gut wrenching at times but packed with such emotion it’s hard to walk away. It’s obvious that CA has put a lot into this book, she’s made the characters loveable, with a connection so hot and deep it literally oozes from the pages. CA has packed this book with a fantastic secondary cast that complimented the story wonderfully. Ashton’s brothers are going to be AMAZING. For a long time now CA’s Key West men have been my favourites. But they are nothing compared to the Montgomery’s, after just one book they’re embedded. I can’t wait for the next two stories.

Now I’m going to sit here and marvel in the glorious feeling us bookworms get when we read a great book!! Rush is indeed a Rush of epic proportions!

He refuses to fall in love.
He was born alone and he will die alone. Or, at least he thought so until now.
Vice-One is all he knows. His squad. His brothers. The men he spends every day protecting. He is empty and only one person can fill this void. This darkness.
Meanwhile, Genevieve Gold makes it clear he should stay away when she is everything he craves.

She is lost.
Her heart has been ripped out; stomped on…crushed into tiny pieces, leaving only a gaping hole behind.
King’s Harlots is all she has. Her club. Her sisters. Her life. But something is missing until he shows up.
Angel Rodriguez is everything she hates but everything she needs.

Putting differences aside, they will work together to bring down a malevolent force threatening to rip them apart…

Melinda's Review

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This was unlike any other MC book I have read. You see this is about an all female club. They are tough and stand up for themselves they are a family that stands together.

Jay grew up in the MC life and is now the president of her own MC club. She does not have time for relationships with everything she is dealing with. Jay is dealing with her club along with outside forces trying to bring her down and dealing with her sister going missing several years ago and now more women coming up missing.

Angel is a SEAL and all alpha male. His number one priority is his team. He has a side construction business that lands him smack dab in front of Jay. WOW is the chemistry between these too off the charts.

I enjoyed jay and Angel but found myself intrigued by all the side characters and cannot wait to read more of them. This had a great pace and kept me turning the pages.  The steamy scenes were HOT and the twist this took was great. This was a wonderful MC meets military story both Jay and Angel were determined and strong willed when it came to what they believed in and wanted. Like I said I’m so excited to read about all these other characters.

synopsis

It’s time for more men and motorcycles in the latest from the New York Times bestselling author of Reaper’s Fall

The club comes first.

I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes . . . She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.

Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul . . . Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.

I’m coming for you, Tinker.

Soon.

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/NetGalley for an honest review

Oh Holly Crap where to begin this story had it all. I was all over the place with my emotions with everything they were all dealing with from situations they were in to the natural disasters going on around them. Not only did I have emotions for Gage and Tinker but for the side characters too.  WOW did Joanna Wylde tell a great story and make me feel like I was smack dab in the middle of it all.

Gage was sent to find out what was going down with the Nighthawk Raiders MC and as part of his cover he had to make Talia, who was the MC’s President Sister, his girlfriend. WOW was this chic a piece of work no scratch that she was psycho seriously she needed serious meds! I felt bad that Gage had to be with the crazy one. Anyway he had to secure a job and a place to stay and was able to do this by becoming Tinkers handyman and living in her building. Man oh man were the sparks flying between these two but no way Gage could cross that line and blow his cover.

Tinker left her ex moved home to take care of her Dad after her mom died. I loved her determination and she was dedicated to her dad and her business. The way she stood up to her ex I was cheering her on at that point. Loved her BFF and the moments they had on the porch drinking wine ‘man watching’.

This was an amazing book so many twist and turns I had my heart in my throat so many times wondering what was going to happen was there going to be a town, who was going to make it through everything. Oh to see the Reapers were great and the hard time Pic gave Gage each time he talked to him was priceless. This book has something going from jump and will not let me go until the last word was read. I so love these men and Joanna does a great job drawing me into the story and not letting me go. I cannot wait for the next one.

angies review

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

AHHH DO I love these Reapers!!  Joanna has a way to make each guy so flawed and far from perfect yet so wonderful and delicious that we will forgive them of their flaws and imperfections.

Coop aka Gage is no different from the rest of the crew.  He is going undercover for his brother to investigate a side club.  They seem to forget and his clubs cut of their business.  SO Pic sends Gage in to infiltrate the group.  Now we see part of this story from Painters book but this is a way more in depth story line since its Tinker and Gage’s POV.  When Gage arrives he is stunned stupid at his beautiful, curvy, landlady.  Too bad he has to follow the the skank Talia around to get an invite to the club.  The club her tweeked brother Marsh runs.  The same club who is screwing over the Reapers.

Tinker, our heroine, has been through it.  Her ex hubby is such a DB.  She is over men and lies…then she meets Coop and the chemistry’s crazy.  Too bad he likes skanks and cray chicks like Talia.  Tinker is trying to stay away but the pull between the two is sooo heavy…even an idiot like Talia can see and feel it.

The story of Tinker’s ex hubby is good along with the club and Gage’s infiltration but the real story is the fire that is burning around the town.  The forest fires are a real threat to the town and to the couple.  As the action is drawing close so are the wild fires.

I loved the story and the epilogue was the icing on the cake because we can see out into the future.  We see Gage and Tinker plus what happens to them years later.

Melinda's Review

I received the book from the author for an honest opinion.

Sierra is a therapist who is intrigued with the BDSM club owned by Cain. She decided to go to the club and check it out. She meets Cain, who is not sure she is ready for the club. Cain is total Alpha male especially when it comes to Sierra. He is dealing with these new feelings he has for Sierra. Cain is hot and cold which confuses Sierra until there is another man interested in Sierra. Then all bets are off and Cain is taking what’s his.

This was a quick read and although I wished there were more it was good for a Novella. The insta-love was good and the sexy scenes were also good. Loved that sierra was strong and dominating when it came to her day life but was able to submit to the sexy alpha male, Cain. This kept my interest and had me turning pages from start to finish.

Forbidden Seduction (Lee County Wolves, #2)

synopsis

Hunter Foster single-handedly ousted the shifter community after shifting in front of humans to protect a Vampire Council Warrior. With no regrets, he heads home to answer for his crime of breaking an outdated law.

Back in his town, he is faced with rogue packs challenging their alpha, his brother, as well as the woman he has spent years avoiding. Finally, he has to come to terms with what his wolf has been telling him and what he as a man has been fighting against

kristis review

What can I say about the craziness that is Hunter? He’s a wolf that makes you want to smack him and melts your panties at the same time!!
We came to know Hunter in Forbidden Hunger, but came to love when he protected Jill in A Warrior Wedding, now he’s back home to face the consequences of his actions of showing the world shifters are real.
Wow, I can’t get over how much Hunter grew from Garrett’s book being with the Warriors was soo good for him. Then again being with them would be good for anybody!!!
Emily is human living under the protection of the Lee County Pack and has been since she was a kid and she’s been in love with Hunter since he and his brothers came to town.
Love Emily, she’s such a firecracker!! She has taken shit for years and isn’t about to anymore and lets everyone, including Hunter, know it.
The interaction between those two breaks my heart and makes me happy at the same time! Finding out about Hunter’s childhood makes things understandable but it still hard, and seeing the way he is willing to do anything to make up the way he treated Emily as a teenager shows just how much he has grown.
When a group comes to town to try and take over all kinds of shit goes down and the Lee county pack kicks ass!!
I can’t wait for Marcus’s book and I hope his mate is who I think it is!!
OMG!!!! I forgot one of the best things of the book!!!!! Our resident VC Warrior comedian Steve is sent to help the pack with the Shifters and what the outing of them means with the government. Steve finding a girl he “likes” in town and the way it is dealt with is hilarious!!!
Oh! Oh! Oh!! And my hubby and sister wife Slade and Jill come to town too!!!

#CoverReveal – Malaise by Max Henry

Title: Malaise
Author: Max Henry
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: TBD
Final exams and end of year parties don’t seem so important at your brother’s funeral.

Two short weeks, and Meg would have survived her senior year relatively unscathed. But when her best and only friend—her brother—dies in a questionable road accident, being the loner in her year doesn’t fit as well as it used to.

One act of kindness from the man her small town isolated amidst rumors and lies, and her hope for a day where pain won’t overwhelm her doesn’t seem so far-fetched. Brett Carver is trouble with a capital T, but he’s also the only person who can get Meg to let go and smile.

Some good things are never meant to last.

Arrested for a crime he didn’t commit, the man who finally found a way to bring light back to her dark days is ripped away when she needs him most. Determined not to lose the only good thing to have come out of her year from hell, Meg sets out to prove Brett isn’t guilty. But first, she must accept the ugly truth …

… that the people who can prove his innocence are the same people who will do all it takes to keep them apart.

“Talk to me, Carver.”

He shuffles his arm so that he can stroke the hair from my face while still holding his weight. “Have you ever been kissed, Meg?”

I open my mouth to speak when he cuts me short.

“Not those stupid kisses you steal with some boy you hardly know while nobody’s looking, but a real kiss. One that you wish wouldn’t end, that you could hold on to and keep?”

I hold his gaze as I shake my head; my heart alights at the anticipation of what’s coming next. Age is only a number. What does it matter if we’re two consenting adults? I’m not naïve; I know where this leads. And I’m not scared.

I’m ready.

For him.

For us.

The bed dips as Carver rolls his body over top of mine, propping himself up on both elbows, either side of my head. Our hips connect, the weight of his body comforting as much as it’s exhilarating. His chest brushes mine with each breath.

“Truth or dare?”

“Pardon?” Isn’t he supposed to close this space between us and take what he wants?

“Truth or dare, Meg. Pick one.”

“Truth.” Always.

“The truth is,” he says slightly breathless, “is that I wished you’d said dare.” His eyes search mine and his pupils dilate. “Dare me, Meg. Don’t give me a reason to wait any longer.”

Max is the author of dark, and highly emotional romance. Her Butcher Boys series is centered around a group of ex-street kids who have teamed up with an indebted motorcycle club to take down a notorious drug lord. And her new series, the Fallen Aces MC, is a spin-off from this dark and dangerous world. Her writing has been described as ‘gripping’, and ‘addictive’, taking you on an ’emotional roller coaster ride’.

Originally born and bred in New Zealand, Max now resides with her family in beautiful and sunny Queensland, Australia. Life with two young children can be hectic at times, and although she may not write as often as she would like, Max wouldn’t change a thing. When she’s not engrossed in her dark and twisted fictional worlds, she can be found enjoying the outdoors while 4wd-ing with her family.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Who loves a GOOD 2nd chance romance??  MEEEE!!  That is who!! I gotta say this is the first baseball romance book that I have read (or can remember) and I loved it.  As much as I love rockers and motorcycle hotties, I was loving this new hero story….well new for me anyway.

This is the story of high school love that is torn apart by an accident……by a simple tragedy.  Our town hero baseball stud gets the blame and is essentially chased outta town.  He doesn’t want to hurt the love of his life so he lets her go as well as run from the pain of the situation.

When the story begins to unfold we see our baseball hottie Crosby getting a 2nd chance at life in general.  He is going to be playing baseball for another college.  This college he will reunite with his best friend Brax and his love El.  He needs her and it’s taken him 2 years to figure it crap out!!  El is stunned when Cros reenters her life…she has moved on….or tried to move on and is not sure if her heart can handle his return.

The couple have so much to deal with from outside forces trying to break them apart because he is a “super star athlete” to their home town hating him to her family saying apart they will lead better lives but El and Crosby can’t let go.  They are the air the other needs.

As the story unfolds we get more and more details of the “night” that changed their lives.  When the final showdown happens I GASPED at what El tells our “villain” but was happy to see her taking a stand for the man she loves and the man she can’t be without.

The series, I am super stoked for!!  I can’t wait for Brax book.  I kinda wiggled my eyes at him and am like “hey Michelle I need more dets on this guy” and especially about who he was comforting after a bad night!!!????

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Wow…Never realized how hot ball players could be. This is the first baseball story I hve read and mam I think I’m going to LOVE this series. I could not get enough of Crosby Lynch then there was Braxton, Oliver, and Tyler.

Crosby was a great ball player had a scholarship and was a town favorite but one night with friends after the big game changed everything. He lost friends, the town turned on him. He left his scholarship behind, left his town, left the love of his life and tried to move on from tragedy and give those around him a better life. Until now he is face to face with his past. Ella Keaton and Braxton Brentwood, they know his life story can he face the love of his life and best friend again after all he did?

Ella Keaton had the perfect life a boyfriend that would give her the world and a best friend. Kedsey. One night changed everything she lost a best friend and her boyfriend. Now her past is smack dab in front of her. Crosby and Ella have a strong bond and fight for a second change but have so much going against them, family, a town, a painful past. Question is will Cros and El get their forever or will their past be too much and break their hearts once more.

I so enjoyed the second change love story. The bond that Ella and Crosby have is amazing even after being apart all the time. Watching the interaction between the guys was awesome, their bets were great and Ella was a good sport too. Cros and El back story had me in tears what they went through and had to overcome. The town that was out for blood mainly Crosby’s and to see Ella stand up for what she wanted for her friends was amazing. I really wanted more of Crosby and Ella but I’m so excited for Braxton’s story and all of the guys if I’m honest.

about the author

Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother’s Day. She’s pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. 😉

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.
