In this book, I loved the new twist she gives to our Lady Mallory.\u00a0 It\u2019s something new she added to one of her books.\u00a0 She keeps true to her historical roots but adds a bit of fun to it along with mystery.<\/p>\n Silas has had quite a life.\u00a0 His mother runs away with him and his siblings.\u00a0 When he returns his father is dead and the family estate in ruins.\u00a0 He should follow the plan of an estate squire to keep his family name out of the gossip of the Ton.\u00a0 Silas is not thrilled but he will do what he must to keep his family safe.<\/p>\n Lady Mallory is traveling to meet her betrothed with her aunt in tow.\u00a0 She was promised that if she doesn\u2019t find the Lord to her liking she is free to walk away and be a spinster like her aunt forever.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0However, sparks do seem to fly pin their initial meeting!!!<\/p>\n When Lady Mallory and Silas meet we see some chemistry but both are not sure of the other.\u00a0 Silas worries what Mallory will say when she learned of his family.\u00a0 Mallory decided to follow and then check in on Silas when she discovers he is not the most truthful of people.\u00a0 Mallory\u2019s extra gift plays a part in the story making us wonder what is going to happen.<\/p>\n I loved the story and look forward to more in the series. \u00a0\u00a0The book was a great afternoon read on a super-hot day.\u00a0 It gave me reason to just sit on my butt and enjoy the air conditioning!!\u00a0 LOL<\/p>\n Christina enjoys a quiet life in Northern California with her family, her wine, and lots of coffee. Oh, and her books\u2026don\u2019t forget her books!
