Shanna Pikora – I am a biologist by trade but am a writer at heart. My genres vary greatly from sweet and spicy romance to dark and twisted fantasy. I have a baby girl, two cats, and a husband! I’ve always wanted to visit Scotland and each of my romance stories feature a black cat! <\/span><\/p>\n

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Others after it, so many details to track! <\/span><\/p>\n

When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like to mix up the main characters and points of view. That way readers can see secret details the main characters aren’t aware of. <\/span><\/p>\n

Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don’t force it. I’ve tried to “power through” when I emotionally drained or in a bad mental state and my writing never works out well – which just adds to my negativity pile. Find your joy, write what you love, and don’t let anyone take that ray of inspiration from you! <\/span><\/p>\n

On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA….We don’t talk about Bruno….<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I do…but SPOILERS – as the book isn’t published yet! <\/span><\/p>\n

What is your definition of success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reaching a goal and enjoying the journey there! Double success if you learned something new! <\/span><\/p>\n
