Hi, I’m Mellanie Szereto! I write contemporary romance and romcoms that feature main characters in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. That next decade is on my to-do list! When I’m not writing, I enjoy hiking, gardening, and cooking\/baking. My husband and I live in Indiana in an old farmhouse in the country and recently celebrated 38 years of marriage.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you hear about this event?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I first heard about Writers On The River from Jillian Jacobs the year she and the rest of the Healing with Words crew started this event.<\/span><\/p>\n

How many years have you attended?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This my fifth year as an attending author.<\/span><\/p>\n

What genres do you write?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I write almost exclusively contemporary romance and romcoms, but I have a new paranormal series in the works.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a book of yours you wish more people read?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’d love more readers to check out Comma Kaze. It’s a very emotional book with characters who work hard to achieve their happily-ever-after. All the feels and guaranteed to make you cry.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is one fun fact about you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I usually share that the spelling of my first name is a typo by the hospital on my birth certificate, but I’m going to change it up this year! I have a food sensitivity to fresh pineapple (tingly mouth) and I broke my ankle a few weeks before WOTR23 by stepping in a critter hole in my yard. Who remembers seeing me hobble around in my walking boot that year?<\/span><\/p>\n
