I thought hard about the questions and had fun coming up with them. I love that the authors seemed to have as much fun answering them. I’m Beck Grey, a queer author writing my way through the rainbow. I write low-angst LGBTQ+ romance, both contemporary and romantasy. My stories are character driven, spicy open door romances where imperfect characters find perfect (for them) love.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I’ve written eight novels and six novellas, and I do have favorites. Embrace Me, Choose Me, and Vengeance.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

🏳‍🌈 Do you write one book and finish it completely before starting the next? If not, how do you keep yourself from confusing the projects?<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I do “one-at-a-time” write. If I were ever to attempt to write two books at a time I would only try if one was a contemporary and one was a romantasy just so I could keep plots straight.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

🏳‍🌈 How do you ensure your LGBTQ characters feel authentic and mutifaceted, rather than just serve a plot function?<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
LGBTQ people are just like non-LGBTQ people, so I write stories. Period. The characters happen to be LGBTQ, and that’s NEVER the plot. It’s just part of who they are. Like being a teacher, or having brown eyes. So either I can write authentic and multifaceted characters or I can’t. Being a queer character has nothing to do with it.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

a noodle. uncooked, of course. And it was very temporary. My reading was interrupted.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

NO. I need quiet to hear the characters. Words start and I start singing. I can write to classical (LOOOOVE Handel and Vivaldi) or meditation soundtracks.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I had so many I wrote and published a compendium for my Love in the Pacific Northwest series. Characters’ favorite colors, how parents met, favorite foods, first loves, it’s all in there.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
