What does a forty-year-old former child star do when she finds out she\u2019s a Demon? <\/span><\/p>\n A sitcom, of course.<\/span><\/p>\n Age is just a number unless you\u2019re an actress of a certain age trying to make a comeback in La La Land. Back in the day, I was the child star of the hit show\u00a0Camp Bites<\/span>. Today, I\u2019m still living it down.<\/p>\n After a disastrous soap opera audition and getting fired from a TV show for not having a bodacious enough backside, one would think I\u2019d be smart enough to go into real estate.<\/p>\n Nope.<\/p>\n Just found out from the rudest, meanest, and hottest guy alive that I\u2019m a Demon. The jerk, also a Demon, goes by the name Abaddon\u2014Abe to his friends.<\/p>\n I call him Dick.<\/p>\n He\u2019s come from the Underworld to protect me\u2014insert laugh track\u2014since there\u2019s a bounty on my head. Dick is not a welcome addition to my midlife madness. However, he won\u2019t go away, and now, he\u2019s my new boss.<\/p>\n Fine. Whatever. All I ever wanted to do in my life was pretend. I can pretend to get along with Dick. I can pretend that I\u2019m not wildly attracted to him. Not sure I can pretend I\u2019m human anymore, or that a supernatural assassin isn\u2019t trying to cancel me, but I\u2019m going to fake it until I make it. I, myself, am quite sarcastic with the humor of a teenage boy sometimes who will absolutely laugh at all the wrong moments. This is one thing that I have come to love about these books. Now, I have a friend that has not read a Robyn book and asked me what I was reading. I was trying to explain this one and it came out sort of like a former child star that was having trouble getting roles with soap operas found out \u00a0she is half demon, that there are flaming assassins from the underworld after her, a Demon who is trying to help her that she dislikes but really loves and she has now dubbed as Dick, a nude gay ghost uncle that loves to dance, has a brother that enjoys the jazz cabbage, and she just bough property in Straightjacket Subdivision. I mean, who wouldn\u2019t want to read this? It is corny at times, it is hilarious, but most of all there is literally a midlife crisis here that most of us can absolutely relate to in one way or another.<\/p>\n If you need something snarky, witty, and that will make you laugh, I highly recommend this one!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n NYT and USA Today best selling author, Robyn Peterman writes because the people inside her head won\u2019t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. She writes snarky, sexy, funny paranormal and snarky, sexy, funny contemporaries.<\/p>\n Her addictions include laughing really hard with friends, shoes (the expensive kind), Target, Coke with extra ice in a Yeti cup, bejeweled reading glasses, her kids, her super-hot hubby and collecting stray animals.<\/p>\n A former professional actress, with Broadway, film and T.V. credits, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count.
