#Review ROAR by Kallypso Masters

synopsis

Haunted by a tragic accident that yanked his beloved wife from his side, Kristoffer Roar Larson has been going through the motions in life. But when he meets the dedicated surgeon and humanitarian, Pamela Jeffrey, he feels an undeniable connection to her, stirring feelings he’d buried long ago. After encountering her in a compromising position on a tour of a BDSM academy, he realizes there’s more to her than meets the eye. Fascinated by her assertive alpha personality, coupled with her desire to submit and serve, Pamela intrigues him.

As Pamela shines light once more into the dark corners of his life, Kristoffer finds himself struggling between remaining in his safe and lonely world or emotionally opening himself up to a vibrant woman, who asks for nothing more than he’s able to give. Guiding her in mind-training exercises to prepare her for some future Dom, Kristoffer finds his body awakening as well. Will Kristoffer be able to close the door to his past and open his heart to the ginger-haired sprite who makes him question everything he once believed?

ROAR is a standalone novel that has some familiar secondary characters from Rescue Me Saga, but the main characters are new. You don’t have to read the series to fully enjoy this book.

kristis review

The things you will need to get through this book are: tissues, wine, and ice cream. Oh, and tell your family they’re on their own until you finish!!!

Roar is a standalone, but its characters are side characters from Kallypso’s Rescue Me Saga.
Kristoffer Roar Larson, is financial adviser to his cousin Gunner. After tragedy struck his marriage his life has been home, work, and the facility that takes care of his beloved wife.
Pamela Jeffrey, is a surgeon who goes to other countries to help in war torn areas.
She also is a Alpha sub trying to find her way.
Working together on a project for Gunner they spend more time together and get to know each other.
By spending more time together they learn that Kristoffer is the Dom to help Pamela learn more about herself as a sub and he gets to be the Dom he once was.
This is by no means a ménage story.
While Kristoffer still loves his wife, by getting to know more about Pamela as they work together he learns that he can live again since his wife Tori isn’t coming back to him, he’s just got to come to grips with the guilt he fills.
Pamela knows, as a Dr and as a woman, that Kristoffer isn’t going to leave his wife but she can love him and help him deal with the way he feels about finally getting on with is life.
Omg, the way that Kristoffer loves Tori is so heartbreaking and the way the Pamela helps deal with him and love him during Tori’s rough times is wonderful.
I cried sooo many tears during this its not funny. These three people are just beautiful inside and out. Watching Pamela come into her own as a sub, Kristoffer returning to the land of the living, and the to of them with Tori is breathtaking.
Even if you’ve not read any of the Rescue Me Saga, you have to read this story!!!!!
If this were s the first Kallypso Masters book you read, you will be hooked and have to read the rest!!

about the author

Kallypso Masters writes emotional, realistic Romance novels with dominant males (for the most part) and the strong women who can bring them to their knees. She also has brought many readers to their knees–having them experience the stories right along with her characters in the Rescue Me Saga. Kally knows that Happily Ever After takes maintenance, so her couples don’t solve all their problems and disappear at “the end” of their Romance, but will continue to work on real problems in their relationships in later books in the saga.

Kally has been writing full-time since May 2011, having quit her “day job” the month before. She lives in rural Kentucky and has been married for almost 32 years to the man who provided her own Happily Ever After. They have two adult children, one adorable grandson, and a rescued dog.

#Review – I Pick You by @jettie_woodruff

When I left Nashville, Tennessee, I knew deep in my heart I wouldn’t be back. I knew I would never be heard on every country music station around the world, and I would never step foot on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Cold hard guilt and responsibilities that I didn’t want forced me on a different path.
Me being responsible for an eighteen-month-old was a horrible idea. Me being a second grade teacher in a catholic school was plain ludicrous.
Life sucked, love hurt, and I didn’t know who to pick.
TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW
I Pick You by Jettie Woodruff
Brantley & Kit & Bay & Rydell
HEY, CAN I TELL YOU SOMETHING?
5 Stars!Ok, picture this… I’m at 80%, it’s 10:00PM, the hubs looks over at me with my kindle in hand and says, “You’re gonna finish that book tonight aren’t you?” Even though I know I have to be up in 6 hours, and I’m sure I’ll be up till midnight, I look over at him and say, “Oh this is happening!” I finished it at 11:57PM… three minutes to spare. That gave me time to wipe my tears away, blow my nose, and get my ass to bed.Pretty cool story Jettie! It’s not over zealous, it’s not too angsty, and it’s definitely not too vanilla. I found it to be the ideal combination of humor, sex appeal, and charm. I loved each and every character in my own way. It does tend to lean more towards a contemporary kind of feel, but there are some pretty good sex scenes!

Brantley Johnathan Jandt is one fucked up cowboy. He starts off the story feeling so damn immature and dense. I mean do people really make a living off of singing on street corners? I’m not sure, but I knew Brantley was meant for more than just that. He seemed to be basically coasting through life without a care in the world until taking care of his daughter puts a damper on that. He changed so much that the Brantley at the beginning of the book vs. the Brantley at the end could pass for totally different characters. Wow, great transformation. Funny how life can get in your way sometimes and your course can change in the blink of an eye. Loved this man!

Kit wasn’t a character I fell in love with right away. She took some time to grow on me. I mean, who leaves their baby with an almost complete stranger to go out of the country? Kit, that’s who. She’s is by far the strongest character in this tale. And when I say she grew on me, she REALLY REALLY grew on me. I left this book with her as my favorite character. Beautiful inside and out.

Rydell didn’t do that much for me. I mean, I liked her, but thought she was kind of a bitch for most of the story. I get that she went through some bad times with another dude, but for fuck sake woman… let it go. She wasn’t a bad person, just a tad bit annoying with her constant negative attitude. And NO, she didn’t grow on me at all!

Bay Berry Jandt. I love that name. I love this kid… more than butter! I love her banter. I love her sadness… “My Mommy go?” That phrase ripped my heart out every time I read it. And since Bay says it like 50 million times… my heart is shredded. I love Phil. I love Mavis. And most importantly… I loved the love this little girl had for each one of her parents.

To wrap this up. I loved it. I loved the storyline, the characters, and the tension throughout. The dialogue flowed very nicely and the pacing was just right. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started this book, but about half way through it I knew I was going to love it. Great ending! Nice job Jettie!

Jettie Woodruff is a lifelong writer, living in a pretend world since she was a little girl. Jettie spent hours filling pages of spiral notebooks with a number two pencil and a wild imagination. Her very first story was a scifi of all things.go ah
Jettie writes more along the lines of erotica now. She likes to keep her readers on edge, and deliver a story that will pull out every emotion possible. Writing on the edge of taboo and dark, Jettie hopes to distribute an adventure you’ll not soon forget.
Married for twenty five years, raising two boys and one girl has left lots of writing material. She has recently become a grandma to not one, but two of the most beautiful little girls on planet earth.
Jettie also hates doing this bio. That’s all you get. She loves to read and write. What else is there? <3

I fell in love with her when I was seventeen.
She brought me to my knees when I was twenty.
I loved her against reason.
I loved her against hope.
I loved her against all odds.

I hate her.
I resent her.
I still love her.
Can I forgive her…
Will she be my end once again or my beginning?

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Undo Me by M. Robinson
Dylan & Aubrey
THE GOOD OL’ BOYS JUST GOT EVEN BETTER!
5 Heart Wrenching Stars

Well peeps, this book is not what I thought it would be. It’s not wrapped up in a pretty little love story. Nope! It’s one of the most emotional stories I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Not many authors can keep me up till 2AM reading because I CAN’T put the book down. In fact there’s only a handful for me. Welcome to the club Ms. Robinson. You have done me in with this story. It’s not anything like the first two books in this series, not even close! It gave me heart palpitations… going back and forth between broken heart and mended heart! I. Fucking. Loved. It.

Dylan, our main lead character was all kinds of alpha, but not in the way you’d think he’d be. Even while he’s fucking his way through most of Oak Island, he seems to still be able to maintain this sort of southern charm. Most days the ladies fall at his feet and leave uttering the word “asshole,” on their way out, but he’s so smooth that you can’t help but laugh at him and be one of those followers. The transition from young man to man was exhilarating to see. His life was not an easy one and most of the time my heart was breaking for him, but somehow he manages to pull through it with a few bumps and bruises. From his beautiful hair and body to his witty charm and that sexy allure, I was hooked from word one.

Aubrey, well… Aubrey made me want to throw my kindle across the room on multiple occasions. She’s one character I’ll forever have a love/hate relationship with fer sure. I have to admit I did like her rough demeanor where Dylan was concerned in the beginning. It was refreshing to see a girl who DIDN’T fall at his feet and beg him to fuck her. Although that same rough demeanor would be her undoing later on in life. She did so many things wrong that it killed me to see her transition into womanhood. Life could have been so much easier for Aubrey had she just opened up her heart just a little bit more and let Dylan or anyone else in to help her through some serious shit. I think she would have been more at peace with herself and life.

The supporting character cast is the usual… Lucas and Alex. Jacob and Lily. and our one and only fuck up Austin. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Robinson has in store for that one. The only other supporting character that I found remotely important was Aubrey’s Mother. The woman who couldn’t bring herself to get engaged in her daughter’s life. I blame her for most of Aubrey’s decisions. There is a villain in the story actually, but they bare no mention at this time. You’ll find out soon enough who it is and hate them just as much as I do. Good luck!

So, if I had to say which one of the Good Ol’ Boys book I liked the best, it would be this one by far. It was effortless to read and the pacing was perfect and right on. The dialogue flowed with efficiency and the storyline was superb. The entire book is full from cover to cover with massive amounts of tension and apprehension that when you do finally reach the climax you’re so fucking exhausted that you will hardly be able to breathe. Bravo Ms. Robinson, you rocked this!

Check out the rest of the Good ‘Ol Boys…

Holding Fast (A Love and Order Novel) by Jeanine Binder

synopsis

Been there, done that – there wasn’t much that Eli Walker hadn’t experienced as a cop. Even working in one of the better precincts in New York City didn’t help dispel the depravity he saw on a daily basis. It was all part and parcel of his mantra of living life in the now, not worrying about the future.
And especially with women. No strings, no attachments, and he made that perfectly clear before he ever bedded them. Relationships were not on his agenda – not now, not anytime in the near future. Women flocked to him and he could take his pick; himself exiting the encounter with what he’d wanted and leaving them aching for more, left dreaming of his curly locks and bronze body.
A chance encounter pulling a mugger off of a woman changed his whole world. She was blonde and beautiful – Eli didn’t care about any of the interracial politics that would surround any serious relationship. He just knew he had to have Ainsley, like an alcoholic needs his next drink. This was all new territory for Eli and could he stay to the path, all the way to its end? Or would she be like all the others in his life .

kristis review

I received a copy of this book for a honest review

This is A Love and Order Novel and can be read as a standalone. I have not read any of the others in this series and I wasn’t lost when it read this one.
Eli Walker is a detective for NYPD when he is called to Annalise Bernett’s family shop for a robbery and assault.
From what I can gather Eli isn’t a man whore he just isn’t looking for a relationship and isn’t one to turn down want is offered. No one woman has really snagged his attention, until Annalise who is the total opposite of the women he has been with.
Annalise isn’t looking for a relationship either having gotten out of a abusive one two years ago, but she can’t stop thinking about the handsome Detective Walker.
Since Eli can’t stop thinking about her either he just sucks it up and asks her out.
These two fit together so well, he is the exact opposite of her ex and makes her feel safe, even if he is bossy, and she is the exact opposite in that she’s not aggressive and she makes him feel level headed and calm.
Even though they fit together they have things going against them, they are a mixed race couple and even though it’s 2016 there are still people out there that give them crap about it and Annalise’s ex is stalking her.
I enjoying getting to see Eli in is element as a police officer with the cases that he works and seeing Annalise in her element as a writer when we see her having to dealing with traveling for book signings.
The fear that Annalise feels when her ex has her and the pain that she and Eli feel in the hospital is so real it brought tears to my eyes!!
I will say it again, these two belong together!! He is her savior and she is the calm in his storm.

Bruno & Callie
HEARTBREAKING, EMOTIONAL, AND JUST RIGHT
5 Stars cause 10 is not an option!

Well, for starters, this book is amazeballs! This one is so off the charts it will put you into a tail spin and your soul in an uproar. I can’t remember when I read a book so full of emotion that I had to put it down for a bit just to collect myself and my thoughts! Chelle has poured her heart and soul into this book and it shows. Don’t mistake me, you WILL cry and you WILL gasp, but you most definitely will laugh your ass off as well.

Callie is such a powerful character. I am amazed at her strength and her wisdom. Staring down the barrel of a gun with a rough road ahead, she does exactly what I would have done. She closes in on herself. She shuts everyone and everything out. I believe she thinks if she acknowledges the “elephant” in the room that it’ll crush her into a million tiny pieces and she’ll never see the light of day again. Enter Bruno! The light at the end of the tunnel. I love this man!

Bruno is everything and nothing all at once. He’s mysterious, he’s uber hot, and his life couldn’t be more complicating. He deals with his own demons, but finds the power to be what Callie needs. He brings so much depth to this story with his curious lifestyle and his temperamental ways. What once was a frightening, dark stranger has now become the driving force within himself and Callie. This man will make your day, your week, hell, even your year!

The supporting character cast is not small, but really not too big either. Lee, Bruno’s sister is so damn cute. I just need this girl in my posse like NOW. I think she’s just a little bit of a crutch to her brother right at the times he needs it the most. Knowing now what I know about her, she couldn’t have come into Callie’s life at a better time. As for the rest of Bruno’s family, they effing rocked! Welcoming and warm! Funny and blunt. I loved them, but I always love Chelle’s made up families… somehow they seem to make me want to be adopted by them. Now, Becca, Callie’s bestie is such a doofis. I mean, she cares about Callie, but it seems most of the shit Becca did or said didn’t help at all. I still loved her and her quirky ways!

This story will stain your soul forever. The pacing is medium to fast paced and keeps you turning pages before you even know it’s 2AM and you’ve gotta be up at 4:30AM for work (True story). The characters are lovable and believable. They make this story so rich with love and laughter. The dialogue flows and feels very natural. Chelle doesn’t tell you a story here, she shows you one. The tension created by this tale will lead you to the most exhilarating climax. I loved it and will be talking about this one for years to come.

#REVIEW – Until I’m Found by M. Lynne Cunning

51WuSIA9iBL._SX310_BO1,204,203,200_

Amy just wanted to escape Ethan’s abusive ways. She never expected to find the place where she felt like she belonged, and she surely never thought she’d find a second chance at love…

When Amy Teake attempts to get as far away from her abusive boyfriend as her stash of money will take her, she ends up in Park’s Peak, eventually becoming entangled in a complicated emotional triangle with her boss’s brother and an obnoxious local police officer.

She knows Ethan will find her eventually, she just never expects to involve either Cole or Jeremy in her fight for freedom.

As Amy’s attraction to Cole deepens, and the lines between friendship and love with Jeremy become blurred, she finds herself divided between her fear of Ethan and her fear of hurting the two men who helped her remember how to live again.

Will Amy outrun her fears and find the happy ending she so desperately desires?

Perhaps, happy endings aren’t always as we expect them to be…

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

I have come to know M. Lynne Cunning through my designing services and was very happy to start this book. I don’t know why I didn’t start it earlier but better late than never right? This is my first story by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. I’ve added all of her books to my TBR list and I can’t wait to devour every single one.

Amy wants to escape her ex. And we all know I love a crazy ex. Ethan is the epitome of crazy. Dark. Possessive. He’s a, no one else can have her, type of guy. M. Lynne Cunning does a fantastic job portraying the psycho ex-boyfriend. I loved Amy. She was strong even though she thought she was weak. Yes, she was fearful but having dealt with an abusive man for several years, she has every right to be.

She ends up moving to small town and meets two wonderful guys. One is cocky, hilarious and says everything that is on his mind. The other is quiet, recluse but is intense as well.  I loved these two guys. They both helped bring out something in Amy that she needed.

This story is about Amy finding herself. This book also has mention of abuse so if that’s a trigger for you, please read with caution.

I also loved the fade to black sex scenes. I’m usually a sexy smutty read type of girl but this book was refreshing and needed.

All in all, this book was emotional, deep and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a powerful heroine.
