There’s nothing that can tear my best friend and me apart. We have a brotherly bond that no chick will ever be able to come between.
But everything changes the night I meet her—Adelyn Pierce. She’s like a whirlwind, and I can’t stop thinking about her.
I have to make her mine.
The next day, I’m happy to hear from Rick that he’s met someone as well. After all, what is better than both my best friend and I finding a new honey to crush on?
But when Rick and I talk about our encounters, there’s something that sounds oddly familiar about his new friend. The moment Rick introduces me to his friend, I’m stunned to see Adelyn—she’s the same girl I’ve been into.
I don’t know what I’m going to do now.
ADELYN
The night of Tommy’s party, I met two wonderful guys… One, Rick, is sweet, caring, and I can see a great friend in him. The other, Maddox, is intense, and I want more with him.
But I’m torn.
When I discover that the guy I want as a friend is interested in taking our friendship to the next level, I don’t know what to do.
The situation becomes even more complicated when I realize that Rick’s best friend in the entire world is Maddox—the guy who’s been consuming my thoughts. My heart feels torn between friendship and something deeper, and I have no idea how I’m going to get myself out of this one.
USA Today Bestselling Author, Bella Emy’s Freed is a short prequel to Imprisoned. It is a captivating journey of love, friendship, and the tangled emotions that arise when two hearts vie for the same affection. Follow the intertwined lives of Maddox and Adelyn as they grapple with the complexities of their feelings, and discover if love can break free from the shadows of friendship.
Freed should be read before Imprisoned, but both may be read as a standalone if desired.
I met her first. I loved her first. But my best friend swept her away, and since then, my heart’s been imprisoned.
I promised myself I would let my feelings for her go, let all of her go, and let them live their happily ever after.
But now he’s gone, and I’m left picking up the fractured pieces of her broken heart. Suddenly, my life’s been derailed, thrown off course, off track. I promised myself I wouldn’t let my feelings for her come surfacing back.
But seeing her again?
I don’t know if I can keep that promise. She’s thrown me off the path I set forth for my imprisoned heart. But now, am I forced to break that promise I made to myself so long ago?
Bella Emy’s Imprisoned is a steamy second chance contemporary romance written in the Imprisoned Hearts series.
With her past firmly behind her where it belongs, Juliette has made a career out of turning her scars into art. She uses her skills to help others cover the evidence of their pain, too.
But some scars are too deep, too painful for anyone to hide completely.
Juliette has everything she could ever need–great parents, her dream job, the best friend a girl could ask for, and a new body to warm her bed whenever she wants. With her focus firmly on the here and now, she never expects a kiss from a stranger to throw a bomb in the middle of her carefully constructed life.
Every wound leaves a scar. Every scar tells a story. Her story left her beautifully scarred.

Content/Trigger Warnings: Mountain Haven is meant for adults and contains explicit and graphic sexual scenes and language; themes of grief, death, infant loss, loss of fertility; mental illness, PTSD, depression, agoraphobia; violence; stalking; attempted kidnapping; and disturbing imagery.
Surviving! It doesn’t matter what each of us are going through, we all have our stories and each of us are just trying to survive. Lexi and Blaze come from two completely different backgrounds, both with their own struggles and their own ways of dealing with them. Both looking for a place to escape and somehow finding themselves by finding each other. A raging storm on a mountain brings these two together. Right from the beginning the chemistry is just there. I do believe in a sort of “love at first sight” because sometimes we see someone and just know that it works. These two, even though they are battling their own demons, end up finding each other and helping each other more than either of them knows.
This story is a slow burn. There is a lot that each of them have to dig through just to let loose with the other for even one night. However, there are some bad vibes going that ultimately present a crazy curve ball with the story. One, actually a couple, that I had no clue were coming. Just when I thought they loved and could move on, they lost. And then I thought things were cooling off, BAM! The crazy hits us! This was a slow burn, with the perfect amount of steaminess, and a very suspenseful plotline. Definitely a page turner. Sometimes one person can make you believe in love again and this story is a true testament to that!
Dawn Love was born in Mayfield, Kentucky, and spent the first twenty-six years of her life there. Always a creative person and an avid reader, she began writing stories for her own entertainment as a teen, and her love of writing continued to grow into adulthood. Meeting the love of her life brought many changes, including moving 900 miles away from home and settling on the Delmarva Peninsula where she resides on her 50-acre farm. Now the mother of two teenagers, she spends her free time creating the characters and stories of her fantasies. She also writes an internationally read Blog where she gives her readers a glimpse into the craziness of her day-to-day life, her mind, and all that the world throws her way.
There’s no reason to let a little thing like death get in the way of a good vacation.
World travelers Serena and Conner Love have been married for years and are always up for a bit of adventure. The Loves have only two constants, their devotion to each other and their ability to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Never having put detective on their resumes, they aren’t crime fighters, at least not professionally. When Serena’s cousin decides to have a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic the stage is set for beachside romance, a little bit of family drama, and a corpse before the couple can say I do.
When a groomsman is found on the beach two days before the wedding, Serena and Conner can’t help themselves from trying to solve the mystery. The Loves believe they’ve uncovered the guilty party using deductive reasoning, a pinch of hacking into security footage, and not missing a beat. When they present their evidence to the police, they discover there might be a block at the local level. Can they find the real killer before the locals sweep the tourist’s death under the radar and blame a local teen they’ve befriended?
My goal in life is to be like Serena and Conner Love! These two have an incredible relationship that definitely keeps things interesting. Serena and Conner are so different in many ways but absolutely perfect for each other. Serena has a travel vlog and Conner has become her unofficial cameraman. Conner has his own gaming company but has the flexibility to travel with Serena, “with the direct result of retaining knowledge”, Serena’s words, not mine, LOL!
While out on one of their wild adventures, Serena is summoned to her cousin’s wedding at a beautiful resort in the DR. The Love’s make a detour for the wedding and begin to explore the city! However, while mingling with the wedding party they notice some real thick tension with one of the groomsmen. Things go from tense to super intense when the Loves find him murdered on the beach. The worst part is a local that is innocent is about to take the fall. The shenanigans that Conner and Serena get into are pretty funny but also get to some levels of scary. There is a lot of sarcasm, tons of wit, and true cunningness that helps them get through to solve the murder.
The author does a great job with character development. Especially with giving you just enough information on the suspects to keep you guessing who is the guilty one, right to the very end. The world building is amazing, you feel like you are right there! One thing that I really loved is that there are cultural backgrounds for the characters that I don’t normally see in books. I am especially excited that this is the first book in the series because I am ready to immerse myself in all the travels and cultures that the Loves can introduce us to.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
I don’t usually read mystery books but this is by Michele Prince and I so love her books. Serena and Conner are so much fun. They have a one-of-a-kind love and since of adventure. Well Serena has a crazy since of adventure and Conner follows, I think more to look after her.
While on one of their adventures she is called to be at her cousin’s wedding so they go. True to Serena form they find themselves in the middle of a mystery. They befriend a boy on the island who supposedly killed one of the wedding party. We get to see Serena and Conner with the help of some friends figure out what happened to the wedding party member.
We are led through their investigation and learn things as they do. You think its one thing and then they realize it is something else. I did enjoy Conner and Serena’s chemistry and seeing them work through all the clues they uncovered. I liked that this book let me see the Dominican Republic through the characters eyes good and bad. I have to say the side characters were great to get to know.

Lyra Grigor is the easy going, sweet, smile-at-everyone owner of The Sweetest Things. When an annoying travel site puts Starlight Harbor on their Top Ten Tacky Tiny Towns list for the fourth year running, she knows it’s time to give the writer a bit of spicy tart instead of a teaspoon of sugar.
An outsider who just wants out…
Spence Côte has no idea what hit his site. Nearly a thousand replies on some little baker’s comment and everything has blown up. Since the site is up for sale, it couldn’t have happened at a worse time. Now he has to drive up to the middle of nowhere coast of Maine and get this resolved. ASAP.
Two worlds collide…
Between the puppies dressed as pirates, the older women masquerading as tavern wenches, and the sweetest little baker he’s ever seen, Spence knows Starlight Harbor might not just be freakishly adorable….it might be what he’d been looking for.
I was given this book by the author for an honest review.
I am not sure where to begin with this book except to say it landed in my lap during a much needed time. I needed some light. I needed some sweet. I needed a delicious buttercream frosting cupcake that only Lyra and Spencer could provide.
This book is ab-so-lute adorable fun. It is insta-hateish love??? Is this a thing? I dunno but Bria did it and I loved it. This book has banter…lawd the banter between Lyra, the harmed town baker and Spencer, the journalist and or Mob Boss??? I loved the town history and why they do the Christmas celebrations year-round. I loved how the town rallied behind Lyra when she was throwing Spencer out of town…Angie and her dog did make me smile A LOT.
I was reading this book and laughing so much. The townspeople are nuts but in the best dang possible way. Lyra and Spencer and both head over heels about the other but pride keeps them at bay from admitting feelings pluuuuuus they aren’t really sure if feelings are reciprocated.
I had the best couple of hours reading and admit I might grab the next book in the series just because I wanna see how Cam is going to win Vi. She is a disgruntled female who is going to be wooed in a biiiiiiiiig way.
But honestly this book was just a fun read. It’s a good book when you just need some happiness or feel good in your life. Don’t we all need and want some happiness and feel good!!??

There’s nothing better than a packed house on a Saturday night, and co-owning the hottest restaurant and bar in town with my best friends, isn’t so bad either. We put everything into Burgers and Brew. My job is to keep the alcohol moving and the patrons coming back for more. I won’t let anyone break my focus.
That was until I saw her.
As much as I try, I can’t fight it. Mallory makes me crave a future I never wanted for my own.
Now, I want it all.
Mallory
When I started my new job at a local specialty burger restaurant, I wasn’t expecting to find a tall, dark, and devastatingly handsome distraction in the form of Walker Meyer. He’s one of the owners, which means hands off. Only problem, it’s a lot easier said than done.
Especially when he’s so good with my daughter.
I try to keep him at a distance, but he’s insistent, slowly breaking down every one of my walls. He’s fighting to convince me I can trust him with not only my heart, but my daughter’s too.
I pray he’s right.
Review by Twinsie Angie
I purchased this audio book.
I want to start by saying OMG did I love the audio, Both voices did a great job with each of the characters they voiced but they both did a great job with Lizzie and her baby speech.
Walker was the single guy loving his life. He was a ladies man but he lived by a strict code…Don’t shit where you eat IE Don’t date where you work. He is quite happy to pick up a depressed woman at the grocery store in front of the ice cream aisle grabbing rocky road to heal her heart. Walker is not about to do monogamy and then…….
Mal is starting all over. She and her daughter need a fresh start as far away from their home town. She needs to prove to herself she can take care of her daughter. She makes a great friend in the complex to watch her daughter when she lands a much needed Monday through Friday day shift job at a burger restaurant.
The heat between Walker and Mal is pretty intense right away. Seeing Walker get jealous when he sees Mal talking to his business partners was hysterical. Hut staking his claim over her with the other workers was also a great read. Mal is pretty oblivious to his eyes because she doesn’t think a guy like walker would be interested but also once he finds out about Lizzie he would be gone.
Walker and the guys, for real I loved them all, step up to the plate for Mallory. They all understood and respected what she was doing for her daughter. They all knew where she was coming from and pulled her into their little homemade family.
I think my favorite was when Lizzie was sick and went to see Walker vs mommy over the yuks. I also loved when Lizzie told walker she loved him…sigh…she is the cutest.
Of course there is drama with jealous snatched who don’t respect Walkers “taken” vibes and of course there is baby daddy drama but I was loving this story. I am so excited over the series. Lacey needs to get the other audio books done ASAP!!!
At exactly eleven o’clock, I slip a quarter into the old jukebox on the back wall. The bar is silent as they await tonight’s selection. My bar, my choice, and tonight, I’m feeling a little rowdy. The opening melody of “Dr. Feelgood” blasts through the speakers, resulting in a loud cheer from tonight’s patrons. As I make my way back behind the bar, I get a few high fives from the guys and even more phone numbers slipped into my palm from the ladies. I wish I could confirm they’re all single, but the truth is they’re not.
Just a typical Saturday night at Burgers and Brew, the place I co-own with my three best friends. We all have our forte within the business, and mine’s behind the bar. Mixing drinks and slinging beers. That’s my life, and damn, what a life it is.
I slap Jasper on the back as I slide under the bar and jump right back in to filling drink orders. Everyone’s singing along, word for word to the ol’ 80’s hair band tune, as part of our weekend ritual. It’s an ode, a salute to our college days and the band we all grew up listening to. We built this business, taking an old brick building in downtown Stewart Grove and turning it into a staple.
Jasper’s the man in the kitchen, the one who comes up with the mouthwatering burger creations we’re known for. Isaac is the numbers guy, the man who keeps us in the black and our taxes completed on time. Jameson’s the muscle because he’s big and tattooed. But he’s more than that. Jameson is talented as fuck with a guitar and serves as our house musician Friday and Saturday nights. Then there’s me. Walker Meyer, bartender extraordinaire, who keeps the beer flowing, the panties melting, and the tips rolling in.
We’re the Brew Crüe, and damn proud of it.
“Dance, dance, dance, dance,” the crowd starts to chant, encouraging me to do what I do every weekend when we play Mötley Crüe.
Dance.
When I glance over at Jasper, he’s already shaking his head, but there’s no missing his wide grin. He knows what’s coming. Placing my hands on the bar top, I jump, hoisting myself up on the aged oak. Patrons erupt into cheers as I grin down at them. Mostly, at the ladies. The single ones and even the not-so-single ones. No, I’m not taking any of them home, but that doesn’t mean I can’t give them one hell of a show.
I twist my ballcap around so it’s on backward and start to swing my hips. Mama blessed me with moves, which helps almost double my tips every night. Women go crazy for a man who can dance. That’s evident by the number of panties that’ll be thrown behind the bar in a matter of moments.
Swaying my hips, I do a little dip and grind, popping my ass out and sending the ladies in the front row into cardiac arrest. They scream and reach for my pant legs, digging their nails into the denim. Instead of shaking them off, I wink and carefully walk a few steps away. Then, when we get to the refrain in the song, I throw my arms out to the side and belt out the words, everyone singing along with me.
It’s like karaoke.
But better.
As the song winds down, I steal the drink in Jasper’s hand and hold it up over my head. Everyone in the bar does the same. We sing. I dance and drink. The panties start flying.
Lacey Black is a Midwestern girl with a passion for reading and writing. She carries her e-reader with her everywhere she goes so she never misses an opportunity to read a few pages. Always looking for a happily ever after, Lacey is passionate about contemporary romance novels and enjoys it further when you mix in a little suspense. She resides in a small town in Illinois with her husband, two children, and a chocolate lab. Lacey loves shooting guns and should only consume one mixed drink because she’s a lightweight.
It’s 1985.
Everyone is wearing a Swatch Watch and carrying a Trapper Keeper. Goonies, Back to the Future, and The Breakfast Club are killing it at the theaters. Super Mario Brothers is a lifestyle.
Posters of Duran Duran and Madonna are on every bedroom wall.
But for fifteen-year-old, August East, the biggest news is the move his family made to the odd little town of Whynot, Ohio, a cute boy named Keller West, and, of course, that whole murder thing. *This is a DUAL POV*
“I’ve seen this movie and it turns out bad. Like really bad.” There’s a haunted house and all the makings of a classic horror movie! Ok, so it’s not a movie but I LOVE that this is set in 1985 with none of the tech-y stuff teens have now. This is a great YA, coming of age book with a spooky backdrop. People are always hiding things, wearing masks, and things are no different with the team of teens in this story. Each character is struggling or working through something. August is new to Whynot and has a bit of a difficult past but gets befriended immediately by the spooky Evie (OMG, she’s a ghosthunter!). Very soon after, he has quite a few friends that just need to see the house he is moving into. Why? Because it is a funeral home, complete with the cremation burner! There are some spooky, and not so spooky but still very scary, things (emotionally and physically) happening to the group. I do need to add that MM romance isn’t really a go to for me, but this just worked. There are very real feelings happening that will keep you hooked to the story. August and Keller, they are falling in love, or at least falling in like, with each other. The rest of the characters really round the story out and help put some perception into what and how the boys and others are feeling. The only con to the book is that since this is told in a dual POV, there are several chapters that basically repeat themselves so that you can get the thoughts and feelings of both characters that happened within the same conversation/scene. Those parts were a little redundant for me. However, the storyline is great and there is much more to come. The cliffhanger has made me immediately want to dive right into Part Two because, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!
