#WOTR24 #MM #KU #2ndChance #AgeGap – Daybreak by Kate Hawthorne, narrated by Kirt Graves and Kale Williams

When a sunny young musician gets stranded with a grumpy mechanic during a snowstorm, a lack of heat is the least of their problems…

Liam Luckett is on an adventure. He’s dropped out of his Master’s program without telling his overbearing parents and set off on a road trip across the country. Armed with little more than his guitar, he’s looking for his best life. He never expected his car to break down in the middle of nowhere Vermont with a huge storm pending, leaving him stranded and at the mercy of a hunky local mechanic.

Jasper Cunningham is in a holding pattern. Three years after the death of his husband, he still hasn’t moved on. A hot, younger stranded tourist is exactly the sort of complication this mechanic has been avoiding. But he also can’t leave him in the snow. He brings Liam home and lets him sleep on the couch. The air is heavy with more than snow, and when the power goes out, the two men become closer than either of them expects.

Every silken note Liam sings on that guitar thaws Jasper’s heart a little. Suddenly, Liam’s itchy feet aren’t so eager to move on. When their feelings get too big to ignore, the bond they’ve formed is tested. Will daybreak leave them going their separate ways?

This opposites attract, hurt/comfort romance features a grumpy widower who is only soft for one specific blue-eyed musician, a remote farmhouse, a friendly dog, and enough snow to knock the power out until love catches fire.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this audio book from Audible through my monthly subscription for free.

I haven’t read an MM in AGES!!  I read so many that I burned out a few years ago.  I met Kate at an author event and absolutely love her. SO I was like I’m gonna read a dirty book by Kate.  I looked through her catalogue.  Jasper and Laim just kinda called to me…so here we are.

Jasper, man did he hurt my heart.  From the first chapter you feel his hurt and his pain is still evident 3 years after the loss of his husband.  They had been together for YEARS so I can only imagine how difficult it would be to pick up and move on.

Liam is just a lot of fun.  He is a flirt but also feels the pain and hurt Jasper has.  He is a fun light that Jasper did not know he needed in his life.  Good thing his friends Ty and Emmet knew it.

The story of these two is a great slow burn.  We see the attraction building between them.  We can see the sight touches and once Jasper commits to moving forward with his life, Liam is there to see him though his desires…on the couch *wink wink*

I loved the couple and how they grew but also feared the skeletons in their closets. I mean Liam has no clue where Jasper’s husband is and Jasper has no clue WHO Liam is.    Woof the chapter where everything shakes out, I wanted to nut punch Jasper but loved the ending chapters.

i bought this book and here is my honest opinion

Vivian left town when her and her first love broke up, she needed to not only keep herself safe but her baby she was keeping a secret. but now she’s back home in Starlight Harbor and is running the local garage and living next door to an ex from her past. When Ms. Angie lets her sidekick Captain Jack hit the emergency brake on the towns famous sleigh that is used at all the holiday events, its forcing Vivian and Cam to have to work together to get this staple in town back in prefect shape on a short time frame. How will Vivian going to handle her feelings and heart, but also her son’s heart and wanting to have that male figure in his life. Vivian’s life is already so busy and a little complicated she wasn’t about to add a relationship into the mix. but will her heart and head both agree? omg i just love this little town and all the characters, but Captain Jack is by far the best.

Mason Creek, Montana is my home. It always has been and truth is, there is no place like it.

I can hide away in a big city, pretend as if I’m not drowning. I can ignore the sadness inside my heart that is begging for a change. But if I’m being honest, my sense of belonging has disappeared. I thought I wanted the big city life, the fast track and all the glamorous things. Turns out, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than home.

Coming back to help run my mom’s business gave me the perfect escape.

But there is one problem.

An unresolved past has a way of haunting anyone. Things can sure get complicated when the man that broke your heart all those years ago is now your new landlord.

It may get a little messy, I may regret my decision to stay…
But then again, this might just be the Perfect Risk.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I won this audiobook from the author.  I also purchased the ebook from Kindle.

I am a fan of a good 2nd chance love story.  I admit I am not a huge fan of Bully romance, so I was initially skeptical when we found out Wyatt and his friends were mean to Sadie in high school.  But I was glad that was all in the past and we didn’t see that.

Sadie is coming home to help her family and using that as a reason to leave the big city she ran too after high school and her humiliation at the hands of the boy she loved.  She knew she would have to see him and hoped she would be ok.

Wyatt always regretted his choices with Sadie.  When he sees she is back in town…after crashing into her…her sass and fire make him determined to earn her forgiveness.  However, he also soon realizes she is quite a different person from when she was a kid and this woman is lighting his fire in a lot of ways.

I was a fan of Wyatt.  I know he was a gross kid but we all have regrets in high school right.  Plus high school is so over and we are all adults now.  Sadie is no hung up on never forgiving him until she starts to notice things about the man he is.

When he start to live near each other, they have to cohabitate with peace.  As the story goes on we see Wyatt and how much he regrets hurting Sadie.  We see him trying time and time again.  Of course the bad choice he made does rear its ugly hair in the story causing any women to fear what they really have.

I really enjoyed the story and characters.  I wish so badly that Wyatt’s brother’s book was in audio because I would have that downloaded so fast. He is going to be a great book for sure.

The narration for the story was well done. Both narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life for me.

C.A. Harms is an avid romance and mystery reader. She’s always had a love for books, getting lost in writing and storytelling even as a young girl. She enjoys happy endings and HEA love stories.

She lives in Illinois and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She holds an addiction for Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha’s and KitKat when she should really be focusing on water and maybe a fruit or two to make herself feel less guilty, but that feeling quickly passes…thankfully.

She is easy going, fun, and although she may seem like one of the quiet ones at first, you just wait until she gets to know you better…that quietness changes, fast

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review.

This is a book that has been rewritten.  The story has been altered and I am writing a new review for it.

I met these characters when I fell in love with the spin off Steel MC Montana Charter.  SO when I was given the chance to read the original MC I jumped.  I mean I LOVED Steel and Dell.

This book starts with Steel, Dell, and Dell’s hubby/Steel’s brother Chip going on a military mission.  Shit goes sideways and Chip dies.  Steel and Dell are both left dealing with the loss of Chip.  Little did they know there were lots of secrets in this thruple…well thruple minus sex.  Steel and Dell danced around each other and were pushed together by Chip who grew up on a poly house.  He knew his wife and brother had feelings but could never get them to cross that threshold.

When Chip dies, Steel and Dell spiral.  Dell runs away and Steel sets up the MC that his brother dreamed of.  Steel finally nuts up to get Dell to come and be part of the team.  When they meet back up sparks FLY but so does guilt.  These two got on my dang nerves with the push and pull to be together and then running away.  Steel was gonna get a kick in the dick for his Hoes behavior.  Dell was going to get a kick in her vagina from keeping things from Steel.  When they finally make things connect in the right holes…like what I did there…they crash and are left spinning out.

We get to meet all the original members plus meet Sarah who will become Topaz and Red from the spin off series.  I loved seeing them and their starts.  Steel and Dell’s journey is a long one and one that sets a great foundation for the future of the MC and the Montana charter.

I loved the new rewrite plus all it added and cleaned up from the original version.  This new story gives a better understanding of how my fav MC started and the cast of characters we love.  Now when do I get Sal’s story with her husbands???  I am ready ladies!!

What Comes Next: book 2 in the Brave Enough duet by [Heather D'Agostino, Kellie Montgomery]

I never thought I’d be a single dad at twenty-eight. Raising a baby all by myself was never the plan.

We were supposed to grow old together. We were supposed to be a family. We were supposed to have more time.

Some say the best moments aren’t planned, they just happen. When you least expect it, they wrap around you, and show you what could be.

I never saw it coming. It just happened, and now I don’t know how I could live without her.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

Woof that last book was rough.  I mean Losing your soulmate is not something you ever expect to deal with plus add a new baby in the mix….Dex had a lot on his plate.  When Madi, his wife’s best friend reappears in his and his daughters life again, he never realized how much he needed her.    He needs an adult friend but also some to remember Bailey with.

As time goes by we see Madi and Dex’s friendship morph into MORE but are they ready for all that comes with MORE??

If you were a fan of the first book you need to see what happens in the 2nd book.   Bailey and Dex were amazing, but Madi and Dex can be that and more if they just open up to the possibility to it.

I hate giving spoilers but these 2 have a lot to overcome with memories of the past and worried about the future.

Trust me and take the journey with this duet.

When tragedy strikes and Colbi returns to her small-town backroad family farm, she runs into the same pair of eyes she left behind all those years ago when she left to follow her dreams in New York City. when it’s time to leave will Colbi go back to the fast pace of the big city or stay for love, happiness and stay with the love of her life and her family?

Avid reader, writer, mother, and wife! I love to read contemporary romance. Add in a little “spice” or hot guys in uniform pants, and I’m a happy woman. There’s just something about diving into a book and engrossing in the magic of your hero and heroine getting their happily ever after.

Goodreads

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

I am a big fan of this series.  I have loved how Teresa keeps the series fresh by adding new elements IE Witches, demons, etc to the overall arc of the plot.  Its not like Supernatural where they were just constantly saving the planet…get me?

We met Jake a few books ago when he was happily getting married/mated to Tracy, the love of his life and mate.  When she was murdered, on their wedding day, I was like “Aint no coming back from that” only to discover there is a story for Jake.

Jessie we just met a book or so ago.  She is Mitch’s niece.  We all love Mitch for the bossy boss of Nicole who runs the social agency helping orphaned children.  Jessie has seen Jake a time or two and is thankful he has saved her when she seemed to find trouble.  She is also understanding about the loss she knows Jake has had with Tracy.  However, she just FEELS something when he is around but certainly, he doesn’t feel that way….right???

I loved this story brings in another villain for the over all story named Gello not to be confused with Jell-O like Steve thinks. LOL  Oh Steve.  We also see a story for Daniel being percolated along with Jill’s storyline.  I am so loving that totally. I want to know what is happening in Teresa’s mind.

What I didn’t love, not that I didn’t love the story was….I missed Jake and Jessie.  Yes, they were in the story but I felt like their story was a secondary plot point.  I also felt this way about Ryker and Susan.  We saw both couples dancing around each other and then boom one chapter they are in love.    I know there are many more couples and story lines to keep up with, but I miss the original books where the couple seemed more front and center vs a side story.

Will I continue the series?  ABSOLUTELY!!  It’s a great series with amazing plot twists and turns.  The story never gets old and keeps you entertained 110%.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

This series is one I can read over and over. Jake has now been added to the list as a reread. I really like how this book is building up to something big. I’m not sure how this world is going to end but with the warriors and Guardians you know it is going to be epic.

Jake has so much healing to do after losing the woman he loved on their wedding day. When he realizes Jessie is his mate he struggles with the loss of Tracy and knowing Jesse is his mate.

Jessie is Mitch’s niece and an amazing dancer. She is strong willed and a bit witty a perfect mate for our newest Warrior Jake.

There was a lot going on in the book. We see Jake and Jessie grow closer together and learn about one another. We see Jill deal with everything changing for her being a half-breed and not being released back into rotation. Being Sloan’s errand girl is not what she signed up for which forces her to make some hard decisions. There are the demons that are plotting to take out heir biggest threat and the Warriors youngest member.

I have to say I absolutely fell in love with king in this book. I loved everything about him at the dance competition he had me in stitches. I cannot wait to see what is in store for the Warriors and Guardians in the upcoming books. I know I will not be disappointed and will be on the edge of my seat like always.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Teresa Gabelman, writes paranormal romance and contemporary romance with a side of humor in each story. Her heroines are strong and independent keeping the sexy alpha heroes on their toes.

Being a full-time writer has allowed Teresa to connect more with readers which is what she loves most about writing. If you find the time she would love to hear from you!

She’s the one who got away. But I live for the chase…

I’m a thrill seeker. I fly the fastest jets in the world, and ride my motorcycle when I’m on the ground. The only thing that matters to me is speed. Why would I ever think about settling down?

Jenny Reeds, that’s why. One look in those hazel eyes and I found a thrill no dogfight could match. For one wild, unforgettable night, she was mine. I wanted to keep her close but she disappeared without even telling me her last name.

I did my tour and flew combat missions in desert skies. But I never forgot her.

Now they have me pushing papers and training new pilots. I thought I’d be bored to tears. Guess who I run into my first night back?

It’s her, my wild-eyed, fiery-haired beauty. Turns out she’s the General’s daughter. But that won’t stop me. I’m persistent and it doesn’t take too long before she’s back in my arms.

Only one problem. She’s kept one hell of a secret from me. She had a baby while I was overseas. My baby.

Now I want them both under my roof. Permanently. I’ve never failed a mission yet and I don’t intend to start now.

I purchased this book.

I grabbed this book when I saw the first two books are by authors who will be at a book event I am going to be attending.  When I read the description of it, I was loving the whole 2nd chance story because she doesn’t love a 2nd chance to redeem themselves or two find love.  Any who…..

I loved Merryn from JUMP!!  She was sassy but kind.  She was all about helping the small town while also staying a bit mum about her past due to the gossip and all that small town jazz.  She was just relatable.  She always wondered about the shy and kind man who entered her shop every single day at 11:00 for one of her egg salad sandwiches.  He smelled of “Iowa Money”…read and you will understand…but always treated him with compassion and kindness even when her staff found him to be a bit old and creepy.

Austin has always had a bit of a crush on Merryn but given his job and what the town gossiped about him, he figured he would never have a chance.  The fact he lives on a farm with multiple roommates who gossip more then the ladies in town doesn’t seem like a mature adult.

When Austin comes to Merryn’s aid, they notice the spark and start the flirt.  Flirting starts to become a conversation and we soon see the couple starting to form “more”.    The scene about their first time….Legit stitches.  STITCHES!!!!  But I love love love the banter between these two adults.  They both have been through hell and are not being anyone but themselves.

Of course, life happens and we start to see outer forces coming into play.  The couple begin to miscommunicate but still trust the other but also wonder IF they would be better off without????

I gotta stay I loved this story and would love to read more especially about Hank or Darryl because they were hilarious!!!
