Hello, and thanks for being here to Celebrate Pride Month with Twinsie Talk. I’m Twinsie Tenise, self proclaimed resident MM reader and reviewer over here at Twinsie Talk. Throughout the Month of June we will be sharing Q&A sessions we had with over a dozen authors who write LGBTQIA Romance or books with LGBTQIA characters. Each day will Spotlight a different author. We hope you enjoy getting to know these wonderful authors and find lots of new books to fill your TBR.
Special thanks to all of the authors who signed up and took the time to answer the questions.
Shoutout and HUGE thank you to Twinsie Jo for the amazing rainbow graphics and Twinsie Angie for her input and assistance. Love you both! 😘
Our Spotlight today is with someone who happens to mean a whole lot to us over here at Twinsie Talk. She is a wonderful human and I adore her! (Adore also happens to be the title of one of her books) I suggest checking it out if you haven’t already. Enough of my rambling though because I could really go on and on about all of their MM titles. Let’s get to know our Pride Month Spotlight author for June 7th, A.D. Ellis.
Escape into addictive, sexy, emotional M/M romance.
A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven’t driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.
She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.
A.D. uses she/they pronouns.

🏳️🌈What’s your name and a little about you?
A.D. Ellis. I’m a mom of two teens, a teacher of 25 years, and an author of over 50 titles. I love tea, sweet red wine with friends, crochet, reading and writing, and naps.
🏳️🌈What made you decide to write LGBTQIA romance?
Actually, a character I’d written into a book (he was a child at the time) prompted me to dive into LGBTQIA romance. That character turned out to need a story (as an adult) and I started reading a lot of MM romance and fell in love. I was introduced to one of my best friends at that time and his stories of dating and romance (or lack there of) fueled my stories. I wrote that first MM book (Sawyer) and haven’t looked back.
🏳️🌈Do you prefer to write stand alone or series? Why?
Both? Standalones are fun because they are quick and easy. Series are great because you can totally submerse yourself into that world.
🏳️🌈Do you have a current WIP? Care to share any details?
At the time of this interview, I’m writing my 2024 Christmas story (no title yet) and then I’ll do a couple shorts for projects. After that, I’ll dive back into The Men of Haven Grove and finish book one (books 2 and 3 are next on the books as well).
🏳️🌈What are your must have writing snacks and drinks?
I almost always have hot tea as I’m writing. Snacks are hit and miss.
🏳️🌈If someone has never read your work, which book would you recommend?
Series- start with Jett & Leighton (On Cravenwood Block) or Silver & Sage (Silver in the City). If you want standalone, go with Take Me Home or Two Weeks in Paradise.
🏳️🌈If you could recommend 1 LGBTQIA Romance (not your own) to readers, what would that book be?
Just one!??! That’s sooo unfair. I’d say anything by NR Walker. And the ENTIRE Hazard & Somerset universe by Gregory Ashe.
🏳️🌈What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am a huge fan of naps if I have about an hour. Naps during a thunderstorm are top-level. I love to read and write. Taking a nice walk on a pretty day is a great way to relax. And I love meeting up with friends and just spending time with them. Family time shouldn’t be overlooked either.
🏳️🌈Anything else you would like to add?
Huge thanks for the spotlight! Readers, thank you for taking a chance on my stories.

Since I mentioned it above, I’m including my review for Adore today.
Adore is book one in The Remington Place series. Cooper is an aspiring pre-school teacher. He rents a room from an amazing grandmother figure named Bev. (I freaking love that woman. She adds a special element to the book.) Jesse is a mechanic. He moves in next door and is getting ready to reopen the towns autobody shop. The 2 meet and there is definitely a possible friendship worth exploring. The question is- what happens the more time they spend together?
I flipping adore Cooper and Jesse! Complete opposites with a 25 year age gap and a bit forbidden since, you know, Jesse is Cooper’s dads best friend. Buuut that didn’t stop these 2 men from at least a casual fling. Absolutely nothing can go wrong when you keep things casual, right? Riiiight!
Book one in this series really set the bar high. I seriously cannot wait to meet the rest of the men from Remington Place.
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.
