#WOTR23 – #Review – Don’t Cry Over Spilled Potions (Which Village, Book 3) by L.C. Mortimer aka Sophie Stern

Don't Cry Over Spilled Potions (Which Village Book 3) by [L.C. Mortimer]

For fans of Buffy, Charmed, and Hocus Pocus comes a story about second chances and new beginnings.

Don’t cry over spilled potions.

Once upon a time, I was in love.

My husband was stolen from me before I was ready, but I found him again.

Now he’s back.

He’s here with me in Which Village, but he has no memory of the past and no idea that the two of us were inseparable.

When a foe from his werewolf days threatens to tear us apart, Stanley and I have a choice to make, and it’s not going to be an easy one.

Don’t Cry Over Spilled Potions is the third book in the WHICH VILLAGE series. This book features female main characters who are middle-aged (or fast approaching it) and who have magical powers.

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Excellent finale for the Which Village series! I absolutely love this series and Don’t Cry Over Spilled Potions is no different. Jaden and Stanley’s love story is one that against all odds should continue. Now that Jaden has her husband back we get to experience what exactly Stanley is and has been going through….absolute hell. People are tricky and sneaky, but to find out you are something you are not feels like a curse. It is almost like Jaden and Stanley have to meet again. Neither know much about the other but both feel the connection. Is that connection going to be enough to save them? That’s the question, my friends. “The curse of the werewolves is a nasty one.” Both, Jaden and Stanley, have to deal with their own feelings of self worth and wondering if they are good enough. But when push comes to shove, true colors shine bright! If you are looking for something that is a bit different from the normal witches, werewolves, and things that go bump in the night, you need to read this series!

Being a doctor means he gets to focus on everyone else – no one looks twice at him.

Tamara has been worried about her friends ever since they left Earth. Holly and Amena were both supposed to contact her, but they didn’t. But is Leo ready to love a human like Tamara?

And is she willing to open her heart to the one person who could crush it?

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

STAHP!!!  Each of the brothers in this series I swore was my favorite but Leo might be my guy…..until

Apollo!!  LOL

Leo and Tamara are a perfect pair with their imperfections.  They both are so insecure but with the other they are complete.

Leo is finally happy to get matched and married but the wedding day his mate is stolen away by Apollo, his cousin.  Leo is ok because he didn’t feel the connection with Kate.  The match maker is freaking out until she remembered a stowaway was on the ship.  She tossed Tamara out the door and BOOM Leo was in love.

Tamara is freaking out her 2 besties are missing.  They left to get married, and she hasn’t heard from them since.  She needs t find out what happened to her besties. When the match maker tosses her out the door, she agrees but only so she can find her friends.  She is stunned at how amazing Leo is.

When the two communicate their issues to the other…..I fell so in love with Leo.  He is just about perfect even if he isn’t perfect in his eyes.

Seeing the best friends all reconnect and the brothers all settled was a great ending until Apollo appears and drops his news!!  I cant wait for more!!

Torao: Grimalkin Needs Brides #2 (Intergalactic Dating Agency) by [Sophie Stern]

A planet with more cats than people…
Grimalkin needs brides.

Three months ago, Amena spent one wild night with a man from Grimalkin. He was everything she’d ever wanted or hoped for, but she knows that she’ll never see him again.

She can’t.

When Amena signs up for the Grimalkin Bridal Exchange at the Intergalactic Dating Agency, she expects to be taken to a planet with more cats than people, but she doesn’t expect to see him. It’s Torao. It’s the man she slept with in a field of wildflowers.

But how can this be?

Torao isn’t ready to get married, but he doesn’t have a choice.

Short. Curvy. Soft.

The woman from Earth who practically runs into his arms is everything he never knew he wanted.

But she shouldn’t be here on his planet. She definitely shouldn’t be in his bed keeping him warm. This human has a secret, and he plans to find out what it is

Review by Twinsie Angie

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I read Ekpen and had to read Torao.  I mean the little mini cliffhanger type ending had me in knots.  Ekpen and Holly are happy and now expecting so Torao signs up for a mate just so their youngest brother Leo can get married.  He is the main one who wants a mate, but the brothers suck it up for him.

Torao is shocked when his one-night stand is who walks off the ship to be his bride.  Unfortunately for Torao, Amena is not here for love.  She is here to find her missing friend, HOLLY, and escape back to Earth.

The couple have miscommunication when Torao things the secret she is hiding is one thing and he finds out the truth.  Amena is desperate to find her friend and worried their other friend left on Earth wil freakout she too is missing.

The story was another quick and sexy read about a desperate human and a sweet alien.  I am of course obsessed with what is up with Leo the youngest brother!!!

Ekpen: Grimalkin Needs Brides #1 (Intergalactic Dating Agency) by [Sophie Stern]

A planet with more cats than people…
Grimalkin needs brides.

Earth is a dystopian nightmare that’s going to be destroyed very, very soon. Nobody knows exactly when or how, but the threat of destruction looms in the background of everyone’s mind.

Holly is ready to escape from her planet, but there’s a problem: only rich people actually get to leave Earth, and she’s barely got five bucks to her name.

Enter the Grimalkin Bridal Exchange.

The deal is simple: she goes to an alien planet, marries some random dude, and gets to live out her days in luxury and happiness.

Only, the guy she’s paired up with doesn’t want to get married.

And he doesn’t want to get married to her.

In fact, he actually kind of…hates her.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This is a new series by Sophie, and I was there for it.  I mean Ekpen and Holly were a great quick read.  Holly needs to get the hell off Earth and Ekpen is only getting married to help his brothers get their mates.  Both are not so happy but are doing what they need to do.

Holly and Ekpen have some issues with miscommunication initially but thanks to a little help from his brothers and parents they are able to open up.  Once he realizes how amazing Holly is and she sees he isn’t so grumpy all the time, they grow together as a couple.

I can’t wait to read his brothers book just by the way it ended with him knowing his bride!!!

#WOTR23 #Review Once Upon a Curse (Which Village, book 2) by L.C. Mortimer aka Sophie Stern

Once Upon a Curse: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel (Which Village Book 2) by [L.C. Mortimer]

Once upon a curse…

Once upon a time, Which Village was a great place to live. At least, that’s what people tell me. Now, even though the witch who cursed the moon is dead, the town still seems to be under some sort of hex.

What’s causing the strange problems that are happening in Which Village?

Who is the mysterious stranger who has appeared in town?

And most importantly, am I ever going to figure out the secrets my mother left behind?

Once Upon a Curse is the second book in the WHICH VILLAGE series. This book features female main characters who are middle-aged (or fast approaching it) and who have magical powers.

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Magic, curses, and spells…oh my! And I can’t forget about floating pies. There are floating pies, ya’ll!

Magic comes with a price and Jaden is experiencing it firsthand. The story picks up a year after book 1. This chapter in the journey also gives us a better view into Eliza’s life, which I love! Things in Which Village have settled down, but Eliza has been putting her heart into a new annual festival in hopes of bringing some tourism in that will help celebrate magic and the paranormality that is Which Village. Jaden is getting antsy because she is not getting anywhere with finding anymore clues from her mom’s testing and research, plus she isn’t getting any closer to finding her dead husband. Things go awry when someone from the deep dark past shows up and definitely throws some crazy spells around.

One of my favorite things about this series so far is the quirkiness of the stories. It’s funny, heartwarming, and has a bit of a thriller vibe too. The story moves fast so you experience many emotions and feelings pretty quickly. Oh, and Jaden’s character is made to be real. She is going through life with the same emotions and thoughts that many of us do. She is sooooo relatable and one of my favorite characters. I can’t wait for the next book because I can’t imagine what other twists and turns we will come across.

#WOTR23 #Review A Hex a Day (Which Village, Book 1) by L.C. Mortimer aka Sophie Stern

A Hex a Day: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel (Which Village Book 1) by [L.C. Mortimer]

A hex a day keeps the werewolves away…

My mom is dead.

At 34 1/2 years old, this shouldn’t bother me nearly as much as it does, especially considering the fact that we haven’t spoken in years.

But she’s my mom.

And it bothers me.

I make my way to her home as quickly as I can. She lived in a little town in the middle of nowhere, but as soon as I start working my way through her estate – organizing the chaos in her raggedy little cottage, sorting through her financial documents – strange things start to happen.

Suddenly, I wonder if I really knew my mother at all.

Suddenly, I wonder if her death was really an accident.

The town where she lived is full of mystery and chaos, and it doesn’t take long for me to realize that my mother’s killer is still out there – and that I might be their next victim.

Review by Twinsie Kelly

A Hex a Day. Why wouldn’t you want to give this book a try. Once you pick it up, you won’t be able to put it down. Never a dull moment!

“All I knew was that whatever was about to happen was going to change everything I knew about magic. Forever.”

Jaden’s story is incredible and will keep you on the edge of your seat. This poor girl loses her husband and soon thereafter, her mother. Just like any “normal” family, Jaden and her mother had their issues, but they still loved each other very much. Jaden hadn’t seen or spoken to her mother in years and decides to try and get to know her mother while going through the estate. This is when things really get wonky. Jaden arrives in Which Village and immediately recognizes that things are a bit different. The homes are a bit different, the people are a bit different, the evening is a bit different. As she is told her mother’s killer is still out there, she finds that her mother isn’t who she thought she was and that she was dabbling in things that others didn’t like. This is where my favorite twist comes in! I never saw it coming and was speechless. The more answers she gets, the more chaotic things get.

“Life truly was a journey, and sometimes the only way through the fire was straight through.”

Pure craziness at times. However, like a true heroin, she is able to solve one mystery, but I still have so many questions. Because of this, I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this series. I have questions and I demand answers!! LOL! A must read!

#WOTR23 #IntaLove #Sexy #Novella – The Virgin and the Lumberjacks by Sophie Stern

The Virgin and the Lumberjacks by [Sophie Stern]

I didn’t want to go to the family reunion.

I didn’t want to drive home through the mountains.

I didn’t want to get stuck in a snowstorm.

But that’s exactly what happened.

When the lumberjacks find me trapped in my car, they do more than just save me. Eli and Keagan offer me a place to stay. They give me food. They keep me safe.

But they can’t protect my heart.

Not from this.

**The Virgin and the Lumberjacks is a standalone short romance with a HEA. Originally published in 2017, this story was called Take Your Time. Although the original story remains the same, this book has been updated and expanded by the author.**

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this book.

SOPHIE!!  GIRL!!!  THIS BOOK!!!  OMG!!  Lemme finish cooling myself off from this novella.

YA’LL This story is a quick and steamy read about Melody who has a shit family.  I mean dang they are pretty awful people.  Straight up awful humans.   She has had enough and leaves the party.  She gets stuck thanks to a snowstorm in the mountains but is rescued by Eli and his brother Keagan.  They are hotties who area also billionaires who spend their free time-sharing women looking for THE ONE.

The men are enthralled by Melody.  She is perfectly curvy, drama free, brave, and willing to take them on.  Eli and Keagan are so happy with the little lady they are nervous for rejection after the weekend of “snuggle time”.

This book was just a great, naughty read but leaves you super happy for all the characters I the end.

#WOTR23 #Dragon #Series #SurpriseBaby #Instalove #2ndChance – Dragon’s Gain, Return to Dragon Isle Book 4 by Sophie Stern

Dragon's Gain: A Secret Baby Dragon-Shifter Romance (Return to Dragon Isle Book 4) by [Sophie Stern]

One dragon. One tiger. One unexpected baby.

Sora hasn’t been on Dragon Isle since the day she slept with Wright Harkness. He’d been so sweet and wild and dragony that she hadn’t minded at all when she’d fallen for his sweet words.

It wasn’t until weeks later when two little blue lines revealed that Wright left her with more than a night of memories: he had left her with a child.

Now, she’s heading back to the island. She knows that this was never supposed to be a permanent thing. A fling. It was supposed to be a fling.

What’s Wright going to do when she tells him the truth?

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book from the author through Book funnel for an honest review.

I am going to start by saying I did not read the book before this book.  I didn’t see the hook up or love story develop between the main characters.  However, I didn’t feel by reading this book I was lost of confused in any way about Sora and Wright’s HEA.

Sora and Wright both total fell for each other but Sora’s running left them both broken.  Sora because she was having a dragon baby.  She wasn’t sure what Wright would say about that.  Wright was broken because this human he felt was his mate.  He thought everything was perfect and then WHAMO she is gone.  When Wright see’s Sora he pretty was like “Nope sis. Not happening again.” He grabs her and won’t let her go.

The story was “sweet” in that they both finally come clean about things but not THAT sweet. There were plenty of naughty reconnecting scenes between the 2 characters for sure.  This book was a great, easy read.  I am looking forward to Miranda’s book ( Wright’s sister) because she was a hilarious mess!

#WOTR23 #FakeMate #Shifters #SeriesStarter #RAWRCountyShifters – The Polar Bear’s Fake Mate, Rawr County Shifters book 1 by Sophie Stern

The Polar Bear's Fake Mate (Shifters of Rawr County Book 1) by [Sophie Stern]

One bear. One human. One big, fat lie.

You’d think that with a backstory like mine, the idea of taking a mate is unbelievable. You’d be right. The only reason I’m agreeing to this entire “mates” thing is so that my mother gets off my back, my shareholders are happy, and I continue moving forward in my career. I’m the face of a multi-billion dollar company. I don’t need any scandals in my midst.

The offer is for one year. One year of pretending to be this guy’s mate, and then we can have a quiet divorce. He just needs his shareholders off of his back, and me? Well, I’d like to not starve to death. Only, there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to Justin. He might have money and brains and incredibly good looks, but there’s a secret that lurks behind those beautiful eyes.

And I intend to find out what it is.

THE POLAR BEAR’S FAKE MATE is the first book in SHIFTERS OF RAWR COUNTY: a new shifter series from Sophie Stern. There is no cheating and a guaranteed HEA for our happy couple. You may also want to check out THE DRAGON’S CHRISTMAS TREASURE for a sneak peek at life in Rawr County!

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

Justin is a playa. His mom is on him to find a wife and settle down.  The business cannot handle all the negative press from his playboy ways.  He is not happy about this but places an ad for a fake wife.  He figures get married for a year and boom be free.  I mean how bad can it be right??  When he sees Rebecca, he and his bear know they are in trouble!!!  BIG BIG trouble!!

Rebecca needs a place to live.  She sees and ad for a marriage. Good Money.  Place to stay for a year.  What can go wrong with this deal right???  AND then Justin appears in the elevator……..

I love love love this series. I have been reading the RAWR County Shifters out of order and don’t care.  LOL  I started late and am loving seeing the couples I know getting together.  I totally enjoyed the twists that Sophie has in each book.  I mean we need a little drama so we know that the HEA will be that much better right!!  If you like shifters, these books will satisfy you in every way possible!!!

100% this series is such a great read.  I loved Rebecca and Justin’s story.  Especially when I actually met them in book 4 they were so happy and in love.

#WOTR23 #Paranormal #FakeMate #Shifters #RawrCounty – The Red Panda’s Fake Mate, Rawr County Book 7 by Sophie Stern

The Red Panda's Fake Mate (Shifters of Rawr County Book 7) by [Sophie Stern]

Jennifer lives alone. She works alone. She travels alone. Everything in her life is centered around that solitude. She doesn’t do well with crowds or groups of people, so she’s chosen a job where she can work by herself without being distracted.

When her boss requests her presence on a company retreat that could lead to an incredible promotion, she realizes she needs to make herself seem as mature, well-rounded, and stable as possible.

What better way than by bringing her mate along?

The problem is that Jennifer doesn’t have a mate. Red pandas are notorious for living on their own or in very, very small groups, and she doesn’t exactly have a list of boyfriends on call.

When a chance encounter leads to the perfect opportunity to claim a fake mate as her own, Jennifer doesn’t resist.

After all, what’s the worst thing that could happen?

The Series List

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

Ok so if you don’t remember this let me refresh your memory, I love Sophie.  Her books are the perfect blend of sweet, sexy, funny, and steamy.  When she offered to let me read this series, I jumped.  I fell in love with Jennifer, the Panda, in a previous book.  She is a shy Panda who is crazy in love with her boss Lewis, the Lion.

Lewis is beyond stupid in love with his employee Jennifer.  He loves her late-night texts about how to take care of a foster kitten.  He loves her love of blueberry bagels.  He loves her…anything and everything.

When Lewis informs her, she is attending a weekend conference with him, she freaks.  She needs distance.  She needs to remain professional.  She needs…..a boyfriend.  SOOOO Enter Jennifer’s plan to rent a boyfriend so Lewis and her can keep it platonic. Good idea, right??  Yeah, we all know how this will turn out!

Lewis is none to thrilled to learn HIS Panda has a boyfriend.  But he is also none to happy to find out his assistant Graham is playing matchmaker with him and Jennifer.  A hotel “mistake”, a swimsuit debacle, and sharing a bed turns into everything Jennifer and Lewis need to confront their feelings.

I was laughing sooooo hard when Jennifer’s boyfriend shows up and what happens between him and Lewis…classic!!!

This series has been amazing.  I have been reading them out of order.  Each book is a stand alone and can be read any time.  If you love shifter stories, grab one and get started on it.  You will be in crazy love with her too.
