MM March Madness – MARCH 10 – Alyson Raynes

03-10 - Alyson Raynes

MM MARCH MADNESS!!

March 10

Twinsie Talk is proud to present the 3rd Annual MM March Madness – a month to focus on the M/M, F/F, M/M/F, M/F/M authors. We love these books and want to share it with the rest of the world. Each day we will post an interview. We will also include any reviews that we have done on these books as well as links to the books.

Our hope is that you will love this genre as much as we do! <3

Today is devoted to Alyson Raynes

author bio

Alyson enjoys bringing characters to life and has been writing since she was a little girl. Her first published book was in elementary school where it was put on display in the library for others to read. Alyson’s love for books is what compels her to write and create new worlds of her own for others to enjoy. A Colorado native, Alyson loves to travel. She has visited Ireland, Mexico and most of the United States. Her favorite vacation hideaway is Hawaii. She has a love for the ocean and enjoys swimming with sea turtles in the wild. Alyson is a former accountant who has traded in her abacus for a full-time writing career. She enjoys writing everything from erotica to suspense thrillers. Deception is the first book in the The Fixer Series which is both an erotic romance and suspense thriller. She has been happily married for twenty-three years to her high school sweetheart and is the proud mother of two. Her love of quilting keeps her busy in the winter months when she isn’t writing. Alyson’s favorite past time is spending time with her family, watching football and laughing together.

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

Once upon a time I trained for a figure competition. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

The first book I ever wrote became part of a series. So yes, I do write them. I find them to be quite difficult to write because you have to keep all of the characters, story plot and timelines in mind at all times. I actually prefer them, because my mind tends to wander and dream up new things in between series books.

Where do you do most of your writing?

I do most of my writing at my dining room table. I have an office, but I just find that I’m not very creative in that room, unless I’m working on my New Adult story. For some reason, those characters come to life in my office.

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

I am currently reading Beck by Harper Sloan. I’m only about a quarter way through, but so far, I’m really enjoying it. Favorite books? Oh…there are so many! The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day, anything written by Shayla Black, Kathryn Kelly has become a favorite of mine. I loved her Phoenix Rising Rock Band Series. You should check it out! It’s awesome!

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

I’m not really sure. Triztan is the first book that I’ve written that is centered around M/M, F/F, F/M/F issues. I think people are curious about it, but are still afraid to explore what seems to be a taboo area. I for one enjoyed the hell writing Triztan’s story and going along on his sexual adventures.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

How incredibly hard, time consuming and emotionally exhausting it can be.

What are you working on now?

Malicious Beauty – Psychological Thriller https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25086374-malicious-beauty They say you’re only as sick as your secrets. That the past will haunt you no matter how hard you try to outrun or bury it. Whomever said that, never met me. I’m the sweet girl that lives next door, the one that babysits your children while you and your husband go out for date night. The girl that was captain of her cheer team, the one who dated the star football player, and the one you would never suspect to keep the secrets that I do buried deep in my soul. I’m a sweetheart, a bitch, a complete psychopath. Welcome to my world, where nothing is what it seems and everything is exactly as it should be. Confused yet? You should be. I will mind fuck you first and then kill you later. Enjoy the ride. Kiss of Summer- New Adult https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22584154-kiss-of-summer Jesse Austin has led a troubled life. Abandoned by his parents at a young age, caused him to run with the wrong crowd and find trouble with the law. Summer Jacobs just graduated from high school and is preparing for her freshman year of college. Needing a break from everyday life, she decides to visit her grandfather’s ranch in hopes of finding peace before living on her own. For Summer, it’s the trip of a lifetime, but for Jesse, it’s a painful reminder of the past. Will they come to love one another, or will they be torn apart by Jesse’s checkered past?

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Go out to dinner, then come home and watch mindless TV with my husband. I’m really not that exciting.

Tell us about the highest HIGH and lowest LOW in your career so far. How has it changed you?

The highest was when I was able to write consistently without any outside distractions. Meaning, I wasn’t working full-time and my mother-in-law wasn’t dying from cancer. I would say the lowest has been this past year. Depression took hold of me and I really didn’t have it in me to sit and write every day like I normally do. So it’s kind of like re-inventing yourself all over again when you decide to take time away for yourself. And everything changes. The market, social media, etc. The only thing you truly have left are those who are avid fans from the beginning that will still be by your side encouraging you to keep going. I thank God for them everyday.

I met and fell in total love with Tristan in Dylan’s books. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Dylan BUT something about the mysterious Russian got me raising an eye brow. Now you don’t necessarily need to READ Dylan’s books but it might help you understand stuff a bit better if you do. Ok so in this book we get Tristan’s back story with his High School hottie Anya….UHM WOWZERS can you believe what his 18th birthday pressie was??? Oh you don’t know *Snickers* you better read it then!! Anya wants more but come one…Tristan is into playing the field. He ends up causing her a lot of tears and heartache but the big shocker comes when he goes home to visit…..WOW…BOMB + Dropped = WTF moment!!
Tristan does seem to grow up a bit but when he meets Steph aka Sparkles EVERYTHING changes for him and for the better. He finally realizes true love which scared the CRAP outta him. I mean the man is a dedicated and proud Man-Whore soooo the thought of getting married…YIKES!!! I love that Steph is so strong but can be so vulnerable with Tristan. They have a hawt chemistry!! Tristan’s makes sure that Steph gets ALLLLLL of her dreams to come true!! *fans self*
The end of the book I voice messaged Alyson and may have screamed a lot of not nice things. I may have even threatened her bodily harm ANNND I may have told her we are no longer Besties!! LOL Are you interested in WHY??? Well then I think you need to buy the dang book already!!!

Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:

1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire’s nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero

Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.

There’s danger in the beauty…

Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That’s how long it had been since I’d seen my winged hero— not that I’d been counting. I’d suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn’t crazy and knew he didn’t exist.

But he did. And I was done waiting.

Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier… thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

#ReleaseBlitz – Kincaid, Cerberus MC #1 by Marie James

Title: Kincaid
Series: Cerberus MC #1
Author: Marie James
Genre: Romance/Contemporary/MC
 Release Date: March 10, 2016

Blurb
I am Emmalyn Mikaelson. My husband, in a rage, hit me in front of the wrong person. Diego, or Kincaid to most, beat the hell out of him for it. I left with Diego anyway. Even though he could turn on me just like my husband did, I knew I had a better chance of survival with Diego. That was until I realized Kincaid could hurt me so much worse than my husband ever could. Physical pain pales in comparison to troubles of the heart.

I am Diego “Kincaid” Anderson.

She was a waitress at a bar in a bad situation. I brought her to my clubhouse because I knew her husband would kill her if I didn’t. Now she has my protection and that of the Cerberus MC. I never expected her to become something more to me. I was in more trouble than I’ve ever been in before, and that’s saying a lot considering I served eight years in the Marine Corp with Special Forces.

EXCERPT

“Since you kissed and made up does that mean I get to stay at the clubhouse tonight?” I turn my attention from Em as she flits around the bar like she’s worked here her entire life, and look at Kid, who has a hopeful look on his face.

“I hate to burst your bubble, but so long as she’s at Doc’s, that’s where you will be.” He sighs, loudly. “What?”

“I just figured since you guys,” he does this weird side pump with his hand at his waist, “you know… I figured you’d be staying there with her.”

“I told you we took a nap.” I tilt my already warm beer to my lips and take a sip.

“Really? I thought that was code for getting laid or something.” Shadow laughs boisterously beside him.

Slapping Kid on the back, “Sorry Kid, if the Prez isn’t getting pussy, it looks like you’re not getting pussy either.”

I grin when Kid’s face falls and realizes that what Shadow just said is a pretty accurate analysis of the situation.

“If you’re having trouble sealing the deal, Prez, I can give you a few pointers.” The scrape of Shadow’s chair as he moves away from Kid makes my lip twitch in an almost smile.

Shadow’s reaction would be fitting almost any time one of the guys made some dumb ass remark about me not being able to handle any type of situation. Kid is lucky I was able to wrap my arms around Emmalyn for a few hours this afternoon, or his ass would be laid out on the nasty bar floor by now.

“First off,” I say putting my beer down on the table, “I don’t need any pointers from you.” I tap his chest with my finger. “Second, if Em was just some other piece of pussy to me, I’d have already had my one and done.” I lean in closer, so he knows how serious I am. “You don’t need to worry about my dick and what it’s doing or not doing with Emmalyn.”

He reaches up and rubs his chest where my finger hit it. “I’m not worried about your dick, Prez. I’m worried about mine.”

Shadow laughs again, and I can’t help but join in at the wimpy sound of Kid’s admission.

I hit the side button on my phone to check the time. “You have three hours until I take her home. If you need to get your dick wet, you better do it in a hurry. I expect you back at Doc’s no later than one-thirty.”

He jumps with an ear to ear grin, slaps me on the back, and whistles loudly to a blonde across the room. I watch as she downs her drink, grabs her purse, and heads to the front door.“Thanks, Dad,” Kid whispers in my ear as he heads in the direction of his all-too-willing conquest of the night.

author bio

E. LLEWELLYN is an essayist, poet, and writer of literary criticism and fiction. She is the author of the epic multi-volume Hollywood-based rock ‘n roll series, SUICIDE RIDE, comprised thus far of THE PLATINUM MAN and THE FIX. The third volume, THE HIT, is coming soon. Further additions to the series will follow in 2016 and beyond.

Affectionately known to her fans as “Elle,” her next project will be a nonfiction memoir entitled I DON’T KNOW MY NAME: THE TRUE STORY OF L TODD PITTMAN AND CREUTZFELDT-JAKOB DISEASE, dedicated to her late, beloved husband, a successful international business executive who succumbed on March 19, 2015 at the age of fifty-five to CJD, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. Elle wishes to express her undying gratitude to the world-renowned experts at the National Prion Clinic in London, England; the National CJD Research and Surveillance Unit in Edinburgh, Scotland; and the incredible caregivers at the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham, Surrey, who nursed both Todd and Elle through his last days with saintly empathy and compassion.

Like AIDS before it, CJD is a little-known but devastating fatal illness for which no treatment is currently available, only palliative care. Classified as a type of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy, it is essentially an accelerated form of early-onset dementia that too often claims its victims within mere weeks of diagnosis.

While working in Berlin, Germany, on January 7, 2015, Todd experienced a brief episode of short-term memory loss, initially misdiagnosed as “harmless” Transient Global Amnesia. By February 20th, his condition deteriorated so rapidly within a single day, he had to be abruptly hospitalized on an emergency basis. Yet the diagnosis of CJD was not officially confirmed by the aforementioned experts until March the 6th. By the 19th of the month, being unable to eat, drink, talk, or move, Todd passed peacefully to paradise while cradled in his wife’s arms. Nicknamed “Smiley” as a child, he died with a radiant, beatific, teeth-baring grin on his blissful face. As Elle often remarks, “He came in smiling, and went out smiling.”

I DON’T KNOW MY NAME: THE TRUE STORY OF L TODD PITTMAN AND CREUTZFELDT-JAKOB DISEASE will tell his extraordinary tale, chronicle his amazing achievements, and educate the general public about this most horrendous of dementias. His loving wife hopes the book will make CJD the AIDS of our era and encourage charitable contributions to fund the research desperately needed to develop life-prolonging treatments and eventually uncover a cure. Until that blessed day, she aspires to comfort and support the families of other victims of this illness, who can do little but watch in helpless horror as their stricken loved ones lose first their memories, then their capacities to speak, move, and even swallow ~ invariably within weeks or sometimes days. Unlike Alzheimer’s patients, they do not long linger with us for us to nurture and cherish throughout their slow, pitiful decline. Tragically, they die rapidly but torturously of starvation and dehydration, plunging those they leave behind into a deep state of inconsolable grief and debilitating shock.

Although the odds of contracting CJD are roughly 1 per 1 million, when it does strike, it’s a California wildfire: it razes everything and everyone in its path. Todd truly WAS one in a million.

For more information, please google and visit the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation.

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

I’m an experienced writer with a varied background. Once upon a time, in another incarnation of my life, I was even a highly touted political pundit whose work was widely featured all over the web. I appeared on the nationally-syndicated Alan Colmes Show on Fox News Radio, and on KABC L.A.’s morning program hosted by Doug McIntyre, as well as on Al Rankin’s afternoon show.. My husband’s work then took us to Europe, where we lived for eight glorious years before he passed away, so unexpectedly and traumatically. I still enjoy punditry, and would like to get back into the game, every now and again, just for the pure hell of it!

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

I do write them, POWERHOUSE ones! I love them, because not only do they give the reader real substance and “meat to chew on,” so speak: they give the reader something salivating and titillating to look forward to. The time between installments is negligible, really, when you consider how long we wait patiently yet impatiently for movie sequels. (Consider STAR WARS.) Book series are much like soap operas or television mini-series: you really get to know the characters and bond with them. They become parts of your soul, your internal family. For that reason, I actually consider them, in the main, to be more fully satisfying if not superior to stand-alones. My only cautionary warning in this regard is the following: the reader must learn to exercise patience, because all good things are well worth the wait!

Where do you do most of your writing?

In the privacy of my home, at my computer. I never, ever, write in public venues, in coffee shops or hangouts with WiFi. My work demands my all, and I can’t give it my all with other people and needless distractions around me to vie for my full and complete attention.I take my writing, which is intensely angst-ridden in the extreme, extremely seriously.Besides, in order to ensure my dialogue is realistic,I often act out the scenes and speak the characters’ words out loud. Can you imagine me doing that in Starbucks? I’d be hauled away in a str8jacket, in a New York minute!

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

Unfortunately, I’ve no time to read right now, because I’m still struggling to glue together the broken pieces of my life, without Todd. My favorite books are strange but brilliant ones, like the great mid-20th-century world literary classic, penned by the brilliant French lesbian Marguerite Yourcenar: THE MEMOIRS OF HADRIAN. In it, she muses, as Hadrian himself on his deathbed, about his life and contribution to the Roman Empire, as arguably the greatest of its five great Emperors. But of especial interest to M/M readers, its greatest focus is on his obsessive love for the beautiful young Antinous, his lover who drowned in the Nile in a mysterious incident that history has yet to resolve. The chapters where he mourns the loss of the beautiful boy he adored and even worshiped are unrivaled for their tender, realistic, heart-wrenching evocations of grief.

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

Oh, Lord, it’s only growing! The sky’s the limit! My contribution is decidedly in favor of that growth, because I believe my work to be truly groundbreaking. In fact, I intend it to be. I want readers of the M/M genre to understand; gay fiction doesn’t have to be pat and formulaic; it need not be confined to the more typical subsets of romance or BDSM or sci-fi, etc.It can, and does, come (as men and their genitals do) in all shapes and sizes! And that is as it should be. Until the genre ceases to be less a genre and just a part of the whole literary cannon, it won’t be fully mainstreamed or assimilated. And M/M needs to be right up there on the physical and cyber shelves with all the rest, like the Stephen Kings and the Danielle Steeles, and yes, even the Marguerite Yourcenars!

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

That no matter how good you think you are, no matter how accomplished you are at your craft, you can always, ALWAYS, learn new ways to be better! And even the tiniest tricks of the trade can greatly improve your writing style.

What are you working on now?

I’m working on the third, though not final, installment of my epic SUICIDE RIDE series, THE HIT. I hope to release it in early 2016. Here’s a synopsis/promo: Love is love … When you find it, you’re lucky—PERIOD. And when you lose it—when you destroy it by your own hand? Well, that’s a Hell all its own … Norman Dimond had it all: money, power, a life of leisure, and finally the man of his dreams. After moving heaven and earth, he was able, by degrees, to bring the obscenely beautiful but adamantly straight Johnny Gellis around. Just as they were starting to connect—really connect—things went haywire: Norman lost his head and flew into a rage, launching into one of his epic, smut-mouthed rants. Now it’s all over. Johnny’s gone, for good. Or is he? Can Norman win him back? “Outside his bedroom door, he froze. Missing his bed mate, he could not bear the THOUGHT of going back inside that keep without him. Just the image of curling up in that big bed alone without those broad shoulders to wrap his arms around was anathema.” ~ © E. Llewellyn, from SUICIDE RIDE: The Hit, coming in 2016. Curl up with Johnny and Norman. Start your journey down this twisted bi-erotic road with Book 1 of the SUICIDE RIDE series, THE PLATINUM MAN, followed by Book 2, THE FIX. #PrepareToTakeTheHit. #HitchYourRide and #GetYourFix. #OneClick this #MustRead #MM #rock #romance #series now. PRAISE FOR SUICIDE RIDE “What is someone supposed to say when they’ve read the best of a genre? Somehow ‘OMG! I LOVED IT!’ feels paltry and weak in comparison to how rich the experience was for me as a reader … [SUICIDE RIDE] is fiction unleashed. It is lyrical madness. This? This is not a book. This is literature.” ~ Shandra Torbett, Reviewer, This Redhead LOVES Books “PHENOMENAL! Like nothing I’ve ever read: gritty, raw, crude, crass, and in your face.” ~ Robyn Roze, author of HELLKAT

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Well, lately, even on Saturday nights, I’ve been working, struggling to rebuild my life and the tattered remnants of my formerly promising indie career. But given a choice, I’d dearly love to curl up on the couch with my departed husband and watch good movies the way we used to, with him so sweetly and tenderly rubbing my feet. Love you, Todd, always! <3 <3.

Tell us about the highest HIGH and lowest LOW in your career so far. How has it changed you?

The highest high was seeing my work published for the first time. Debuting at number one or two on the Hot New Releases List in my category was also very exciting, at first. The lowest low was when the Trolls pounced. Actually, though, in time, it made little difference, for I could go no lower than on the day when my beloved husband passed away, all too prematurely, from CJD. THAT set everything in perspective. Now, I’m striving for equilibrium: I write my heart out and pour my whole Art and Soul into my work. Those who get it, get it; and those who don’t, don’.t And hey: my husband has taught me, even from beyond the oven, I can’t be anyone but ME, at my best and most authentic. I write Gay/Bi literature, not snappy, breezy romance. But that’s okay. That kind of writing has its place, too, in the marketplace, but one thing I do know: my writing stands apart, even alone, as I do, and it certainly differentiates me from the crowd, As a result, I have a truly original and authentic voice, love it or loath it!

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

At my day job, I play with drugs all day 🙂

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

I love a good series, one of my favorites is the Assassin/Shifter series by Sandrine Gasq-Dion which is at 25 books and counting. All the books I’ve written so far are in series, Opposites and All Cocks. As the numbers climb for books in the series, they get harder to write because you have to remember every character’s details, and the list just keeps growing.

Where do you do most of your writing?

At my desk in my room with my playlist going.

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

As I’m writing this interview it’s January 24th and I’m reading Star Power by Morticia Knight. And she is one of my favorite Authors, especially her Gin and Jazz series.

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

I do, we have new Authors releasing books all the time in the LGBT genre. I think I contribute a different voice and train of thought that is reflected in my writing. But then, that is definition of an Author, so I think each and every one of us contributes to that.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

It’s hard. What I’m thinking and seeing in my head rarely translates on paper. You need a dictionary handy at all times as well, so that you aren’t repetitive. Writing also reminds me why I hated school! LOL!!

What are you working on now?

I’m working on the 4th book in the All Cocks series, Dare to Hope. And the 3rd book in the Opposites series, Snapped.

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Go out for dinner and drinks with friends and then go see a good movie.

Tell us about the highest HIGH and lowest LOW in your career so far. How has it changed you?

My highest high was when my first book went live on Amazon, can’t beat that initial surge of emotions. I just cleaned up my lowest low, the Opposites series. I released those books when I was still green and getting comfortable with writing. I also didn’t have an editor.

synopsis

Dr. Nate Roman

Heartbroken.

Once was enough. I’ll never give my heart to another again. One night with a woman is enough for me now. As a psychologist, I deal with emotions all day long. Life gets messy when emotions are involved, and I like my life uncomplicated.

Dr. Lynsey Henderson intrigues me. Her smile makes my heart skip a beat. I want her in my bed, but she isn’t proving to be an easy conquest.

Dr. Lynsey Henderson

I finally have everything I dreamed about since I was a kid. Well, almost. I have the best job as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, and I live in a beautiful historic home in a quaint small town. I’m missing someone special to share my life with. Someone special to love. The last time I tried was a colossal disaster.

My path has crossed Dr. Nate Roman’s multiple times at work. He is beyond gorgeous and just the kind of guy I swore I’d stay away from….he has a different girl every night, and I’m not going to be one of the many.

He is so damn sweet when he tries to convince me to go out with him, and I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to resist.

#Review #30DaysOfReadingIndie – Jax by Kelly Gendron

Jax (Breaking the Declan Brothers, #1)

synopsis

“Some boys can get rough, some don’t always listen when you tell them to stop, and some boys, they’re just monsters. You gotta be careful who you play with…” ~ Jax Declan

I’m a tease, always have been. In my teens, Jax Declan tried to warn me about staying away from the bad boys. The only boy I ever wanted was Jax. But, no matter how much I tried to play with him, he rejected me.

I haven’t seen Jax Declan in years. A couple friends and I are going back to the Bayou for the summer. A little older now, and a bit wiser, I’ve decided that I’m going to find my teenage crush and I’m going to break him. This summer Jax Declan will play with me.

But the closer I get and the more I learn about the reserved, discreet, and sexy Jax Declan. Well, I’m starting to think that Jax Declan might just be one of those bad boys he tried to warn me about all those years ago.

angies-review

I received this book from an honest review.

I am in a book reading club and we could pick a book to read/review for this moth.  I scrolled through and this cover hit my eyes and made me stop scrolling.  Shallow yes…LOL  Then I read the synopsis and was like “Oh a bad boy” yes please…who doesn’t love a bad boy falling in love ??? This was the very first book I have read for this author so I bucked in for a new story and story teller.

This story was about beauty queen Emmie who could have any guy she wanted in high school.  However she wanted bad boy older Declan brother Jax.  She was always doing things to get him to notice her but he never did…or did he?

Jax noticed Emmie when she turned 16 but since he was 19, he had to stay away…..Jail bait and jail time didn’t sound like fun to him.  When she turned 18 and he was going to make his move but situations happened to prevent him and then she moved away to go to college.

Emmie has returned with a few friends to spend the summer back at her home town.  Her goal is to GET JAX!!    However she didn’t know that Jax’s also has a goal, to get and KEEP Emmie forever!!

I liked the story but there were times that the actions of the characters left me scratching my head because what they did seems out of character for them.  There were times when I felt Emmie was a bit of a spoiled brat and very high maintenance but then she would be totally normal and act like a different person.  To not be jealous of her man with other woman but then to listen to a random stranger tell you a deep dark secret about the man you are in love with and have been with for weeks and you just believe her?  I just didn’t buy it.  Jax makes Emmie sound really shallow about her looks and how she always uses them to get her way but then you are told she is a highly sought after professional for her brains????  The hot and cold was a bit of a turn off for me.  I was interested in the side characters stories and wondered if the other ladies will also land their brother.

MM MARCH MADNESS!!

March 7

Twinsie Talk is proud to present the 3rd Annual MM March Madness – a month to focus on the M/M, F/F, M/M/F, M/F/M authors. We love these books and want to share it with the rest of the world. Each day we will post an interview. We will also include any reviews that we have done on these books as well as links to the books.

Our hope is that you will love this genre as much as we do! <3

Today is devoted to Ann Lister

author bio

Ann Lister writes erotic love stories using beautifully drawn characters; flawed and emotionally damaged, and at the height of their careers, each in search of the one thing that still eludes them: love.

The Rock Gods series gave her Bestselling Author status on Amazon. Each book in this series brings her two favorite elements together: musicians and the love between two men. These stories focus on what it truly means to love; love unconditionally, love without restrictions or labels, love without fear or judgment – to just simply love.

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

I absolutely HATE potato of any kind. I’d rather eat dirt. I don’t even like the smell of potatoes cooking. They are horrible and nasty and you couldn’t even pay me to gag a bite down.

I am also a chocolate whore and would eat anything covered in chocolate – except for potato. Not happening, ever, with the potato.

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

I am finishing up Book 7 in the Rock Gods series. The way I have written my series is to include all the characters in each book which creates a lot of work to keep the reader updated on so many different people. But, I feel the reader gets a fuller view of the characters and their lives when the series is written that way.

Where do you do most of your writing?

I have an office that my husband built by converting our sun room over to a year-round room for me. I have two walls of windows so the room is naturally bright and the view looks out over our side yard. I have two bird feeders up against one of the glass doors and I can watch the birds while I work, which I find relaxing. I also see deer from time to time, and various other types of wildlife right from my office window.

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

Well, I just finished reading Harley’s Achilles by Sandrine Gasq-Dion and I loved it! Best book in her rock series!
I’m about to start Perfect Fit by Aimee Nicole Walker and I can’t wait!

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

I do feel the M/M genre is growing with the number of new fans growing as fast as the number of new M/M authors releasing in the genre. It is an exciting time to be part of it.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

What surprises me is that people actually read what I write. I have always written stories to entertain myself so when others enjoy them, too, that still shocks the hell out of me.

What are you working on now?

I am in the editing process of Book 7 in The Rock Gods series which will release in February sometime. This is the end of that series but this story will also launch a spin-off series titled: Guarding The Gods. This new series will have stories about the men who work in the background for the Rock Gods. This will include a story for Fizzbo, Spumoni, and several new characters which are introduced in Book 7. I’m really excited to get going on that series. I should also let everyone who have enjoyed The Rock Gods to look forward to many cameo appearances in the new series by The Rock Gods!

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Maybe socialize a bit and then come home and read.

Tell us about the highest HIGH and lowest LOW in your career so far. How has it changed you?

Well, of course the highest of highs would be when I hit #1 in Gay Romance for the first time – and every time since then has been an equal high for me.
The lowest of lows? I don’t like to talk about that, but it was indeed an eye opening experience for me. It changed me because it forced me to put on my big girl panties and make some difficult decisions. By doing that it put a positive spin on this event and I walked away with an enormous sense of relief once it was over.

Today is devoted to Donya Lynne

author bio

Donya Lynne is the bestselling author of the award winning All the King’s Men Series and a member of Romance Writers of America. Making her home in a wooded suburb north of Indianapolis with her husband, Donya has lived in Indiana most of her life and knew at a young age that she was destined to be a writer. She started writing poetry in grade school and won her first short story contest in fourth grade. In junior high, she began writing romantic stories for her friends, and by her sophomore year, she’d been dubbed Most Likely to Become a Romance Novelist. In 2012, she made that dream come true by publishing her first two novels and a novella. Her work has earned her two IPPYs (one gold, one silver) and two ELit Awards (one gold, one silver) as well as numerous accolades. When she’s not writing, she can be found cheering on the Indianapolis Colts or doing her cats’ bidding.

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

Coloring in adult coloring books has become a bit of an obsession for me. I’ve obtained a huge collection of colored pencils, gel pens, and coloring books, and like to use coloring as active meditation. It’s really helped me with coming up with ideas for my stories.

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

HARDER! LOL. I write series and standalones, and I can definitely say writing series is harder, especially if you write saga-like series like I’m doing with my All the King’s Men Series. My Strong Karma Trilogy wasn’t as hard but was still challenging. When you write a series, you have to be diligent about keeping a series bible so that all the details are recorded and remembered for future books. I also like to reread all my books occasionally to make sure they stay fresh in my mind. But series writing is so challenging that I need to write the occasional standalone to give my brain a break. But a lot of readers love series. They love getting into the characters and living inside that world for a while, so that’s why writing series is worth the effort.

Where do you do most of your writing?

I do most of my writing in my home office, but I will occasionally write in the easy chair or on the couch for a change of perspective.

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

I’m currently reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. I like to read books I wouldn’t normally read when I’m trying to freshen up or give new life to my writing. I’ve also started reading Uprooted by Naomi Novik for the same reason, and because I’ve heard so many good things about it The third book I’m reading is November 9 by Colleen Hoover. I just love her writing. She’s such a fabulous author. As for suggestions, I highly recommend the Struck by Lightning Series by Cecelia Tan for anyone who wants an erotic read. I also recently read Pretty Broken Girl and Pretty Filthy Lies by Jeana Mann and LOVED them. She has such a way with words. Such a joy to read. And Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite books, so I have to give it a nod here. As for m/m books, Hot Head by Damon Suede is a must read, and anything by AJ Rose (I loved Power Exchange and Safeword).

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

I think this genre is growing, albeit slowly. There is a rabid audience for LBGT books but not a lot of authors writing such books when compared to other genres. I think that the proliferation of digital publishing and self publishing is a huge reason for this growth. In the past, publishers seemed to shy away from such books, which is a good thing for self publishers.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

That the rules are always changing. And, in fact, that the rules are merely guidelines. But you have to know what the rules are so you know when it’s appropriate to break them, and how to break them.

What are you working on now?

I am working the final edits of my 7th AKM novel, Bound Guardian Angel, which my readers have been begging for since I wrote the first novel, Rise of the Fallen. This is Trace’s story, and Trace is a very special, iconic character. It’s available for preorder on iBooks, and the Amazon preorder will be up sometime in April. iBooks preorder link: https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/book/bound-guardian-angel/id1073719836?mt=11&at=1000l8vX I’m also working on BLACK, book 8 of the AKM Series, which is also available for iBooks preorder; Slave, book 9 of AKM; What Comes Around, the followup to my Strong Karma Trilogy; two standalones; and an erotic trilogy I’m very excited about. So, yes, I have a lot of projects at some point in development.

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

I’m pretty boring. I simply like to relax on the couch. I could be reading, sleeping, watching Ghost Adventures, or writing, but I’m always on the couch on Saturday night, probably because I’ve worked my butt off all week. But when the weather’s nice, I sometimes like to sit in my office with the window open while I’m coloring and listening to the outside world for a little while.

Tell us about the highest HIGH and lowest LOW in your career so far. How has it changed you?

The highest high came last October when I hit the Smashwords Top 25 bestseller list with two books, based exclusively on iBooks sales. Coming Back To You hit #7 and Full Circle hit #13, and the list was published in Publishers Weekly in December. October was my best month for sales to date. Very exciting. As for my lowest low? I haven’t really had one. I’ve had low sales months, but the ride has still been exciting and the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. If anything my lowest low came BEFORE I published my first book, and was the reason for me to finally go for it and make writing my profession. I’d been studying writing for ten years with the intent to publish, so when events in my life took a devastating turn for the worse, I decided the time was now. I’ve never regretted that decision and haven’t looked back since.

Today is devoted to Jenna Galicki

author bio

Jenna Galicki writes in multiple genres including m/m/f, m/f, and m/m. She is predominantly known for her Radical Rock Stars Series. The Prince of Punk Rock (Radical Rock Stars Book 1) was a finalist in the 2015 Bisexual Book Awards.

Jenna is a strong advocate for LGBT rights and marriage equality. A native New Yorker, she recently relocated to Southern California with her husband and two dogs. She’s a Rottweiler enthusiast and an avid music buff. When she’s not hunched over a computer, you can find her front row at a rock concert.

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

I’m a huge animal lover. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was a teenager and stopped consuming all milk products about 5 years ago. I’m working my way to vegan.

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

I have written a rock star series, but it wasn’t my intention. The original story about Angel, Tommy and Jessi was a big one and halfway through writing it, I knew it needed to be 2 books. As it turned out, it needed to be 3 books. While writing the first book (The Prince of Punk Rock) I new right away that Damien had a backstory that needed to be told. I knew his past in my head and loved his story. It needed to be put on paper and shared. The other characters evolved and Jimmy’s story also needed to be told. It actually worked out very well in regard to the original story about Angel, Tommy and Jessi because their relationship needed time to progress and develop before they found balance.

Where do you do most of your writing?

I usually write in my home office with my 2 dogs at my feet, but I always take either my tablet with me in case the opportunity arises.

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

Caught! by JL Merrow (smart is the new sexy! 🙂 )

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

I think the m/m genre has exploded. I have no idea why, but I’m very happy about it. I want to see boy/boy on the shelf right next to boy/girl.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

I’m surprised at the velocity of stories running around in my head! They take control of themselves and have their own path. I have my foot on the gas, but the characters are the ones driving.

What are you working on now?

The last novel in the Radical Rock Stars Series, Punk Rock-A-Bye Baby, was released on Jan 27. I have a m/m short in the Hearts Afire Anthology that was published on Feb. 14.

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Go to a rock concert!

Tell us about the highest HIGH and lowest LOW in your career so far. How has it changed you?

The highest point had to from the Bisexual Book Awards. The Prince of Punk Rock was a finalist in the Romance Category. This was voted on by a panel at The Biwriters Association. They probably never heard of me or my books before they read The Prince of Punk Rock. It was an honor.

Low point? That’s a hard one to answer. This has been an incredible ride.

The Prince of  Punk Rock Review

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

So my blog is focusing on MM FF MMF MFM and all the mixes in the middle this month (March 2014). I saw the promo for this book and thought WOW and it even would fit with our theme so I reached out to the author for a copy. I sat and read this book in not time at all. I couldn’t put it down. These characters captured my heart and attnetion from the very first page.

Tommy is some kinda lucky man. He is married to Jessi. She knows he is bisexual and will do anything to make him happy. She allows him to bring men home and she watches and even participated with Tommy while the other male is playing with Tommy too…however no touching of Jessi is allowed….They have a happy marriage and the world is good. Tommy gets a message to meet this Angel guy for an opportunity in his up and coming band. Jesse and Tommy go and BOOM INSTANT chemistry. Angel and Tommy have this instant pull. Jessi even sees it and does some match making. I was thinking “man she is some kind of awesome to be OK with this and even encouraging it.” The three start to have a happy relationship but you see Jessi have cracks….she is begining to wonder if Angel will take Tommy away. Along the way of the story, there is great band news, unhappy family revilations and alot of sex….snickers…but you prolly figured that right??!!

Angel is VERY gay and even when Jessi is trying to seduce him, he will not budge. I have to admit I felt the sting of the rejection like Jessi did and was a little bit sad that Tommy never picked up on it. He is intune with this wife but sometimes I felt Angel was more intune with her and their love was platonic.

I was devistaed in the story when you find out about the secret that Tommy adn Angel kept from Jessi. I too was so hurt that this woman who sacraficed everything willingly for the man she loved would keep things from her. I was proud of her for standing by his and Angels side to take care of the drama nbut hurt like she was. I also was very happy with her postion at the end of the story. I am happy to see Jessi taking care of Jessi. I read the blurb for book 2 and I have to admit my heart is hurting at the drama that will be taking place in book 2…..omg i dont know if i cant take it……..

Between a Rock and a Hard Place Review
I received this book from the author for an honest opinion.
When I read the first book if the series I was just hooked! I mean a married couple with an openly bisexual husband who has a curious wife that opens her marriage to an openly gay man….and it works!!!
Well this part of the book really , really makes it hard for the threesome. Jessi can’t go on tour with Angel and Tommy. She has to stay behind and finish school. The time without Jessi was a little “honeymoon: for Angel and Tommy. However, Jessi gets very insecure of their relationship. Words between her and angel are not nice and Tommy is pulled between the two loves of his live. His wife means everything but his partner is just as important.
Well, Angel and Jessi find some common gournd and realize that they both are insecure when it comes to the other. Angel is afraid that if it doesnt work out, he is the one getting walking papers because Jessi is the LEGAL spouse of Tommy.
When that drama is worked out Jessi has new drama to work out with her new business. Tommy realizes that Jessi is his rock and roll heart and soul. If she will not be able to participate in the tours and travel, then he is done with the music industry. He has realized he is a bit of a slacker with both his loves and is going to step up his game to prove his loyalty and love to them both.
The next book, I am soooo excited to read. It is going to be a great story. I cannot wait for it either!!
Punk Rock-A-Bye Baby Review
I received this book from the author for an honest review.

AHHH!! This book!! I loved it so much!! I have been a big fan of the series and was super stoked to see that the trio would be having a baby. Jessi, Tommy and Angel have come full circle in this series. They have embraced their polyamorous lifestyle. They have also been able to put all jealousy to rest and been open to a full, loving relationship.

When Tommy decides to officially marry Angel, I was so excited. Too also see Jessi as on board made me happy. When the three officially become a family and they decide on adding a baby, I. WAS. STOKED!! Their honeymoon does end up causing some trouble for them in the future but the trauma also helps to reinforce their bonds. The ending chapters made my heart pitter patter but I can’t say why because I think it was the best part of the book. It made my heart soar!!! It was the unexpected Cream Cheese Frosting on my already perfect Red Velvet Cake Book!!!

I loved seeing the rest of the band and am hopeful that we may see another punk rock baby from Alyssa and or Audra???? Maybe? Perhaps? I would be down for reading about Damien and Alyssa because his is my FAVORITE of the guys!!
