I received this book from the author for an honest review.

WHAT!!  EEEP!!  OMG SO I can’t tell you the who or the what the story is about but trust me….YOU MUST READ THIS!!

Meghan wants the plot, characters, etc to be a surprise for all her readers…super cool right!!  So when you read your copy (trust me a fan of this series will NEED to read it) remember to keep mum about the plot.

All I can say is that the man is uber alpha and made me love him hard core but no one can take Con’s place and I mean NO ONE.  The female is sassy and spunky so I was loving this couples dynamic.

If you love Meghan’s series then TRUST ME…..get it already!!!

#Review – Released (Vagabond Circus Book 3) by Sarah Noffke

29082255

synopsis

When a threat so brutal it has the force to rip the magic right out of the world takes over Vagabond Circus, everyone seeks refuge away from the big top. Finley knows he has to protect the circus he’s grown to love, and its people. But to do that he’ll have to further scar his soul. Jack is relentless to take back what was stolen from him, but in the process he becomes someone he never expected. And this acrobat, who once stole the hearts of millions, accidentally steals a heart he didn’t expect. But it is Titus who is most changed by the events at Vagabond Circus. He’s always been the fearful coward, but with a new threat bearing down on his best friend’s circus he knows he has to invent the courage to become a new man. Zuma watches from the sidelines as the people she loves grow in an effort to save one of the most important ventures in the world.

In this final installment to the Vagabond Circus series, deals will be made, futures tampered with, and everyone’s hearts broken. But the question that will keep the troupe of this circus going is precisely the same one that will plague readers. Can Dr. Dave Raydon’s circus be saved? And if it can’t, then is everything around it doomed?

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

STEP RIGHT UP! The Vagabond Circus is in town. This is no longer the same fun magical circus you want to take you sons and daughters too. This is more dark and sinister like a scary movie you and friends go to in high school and then freak out in the parking lot when you see a cat run across your path. What use to be magical now has an element of fear to it.

Nothing is the same with the circus since Zuma, Finley and Jack return. The performers have to decide do they stay and ride out this evil change or do they turn and run from the only family they have ever known. Jack is recovering from his injuries and is stuck with someone that is great at giving him the motivation to move. I never pictured these two as friends let alone more but they make a great team. Finley is shutting Zuma out although Zume is persistent and keeps pushing him.

This is an emotional read where the twist and turns had me in knots. Not going to lie there were a few times where I was not happy where the people were headed or what happened to them. Like any family some I loved, some I disliked and some I wanted to keep an eye on. Yes, I thought of them as my family this is how great Sarah is at sucking me into this story. There are times I was in shock and had tears streaming as I saw things unfold in front of me. This is not all happy sunshine and flowers there is dark and sinister times at the circus now and no one is safe. Some of my family didn’t make it out alive, others find strength where they thought they had none, and some find love where they least expect it.

Sarah’s series keep getting better and better. The villains get more evil and sinister and the love stories have more depth the more she writes. Sarah has a way of taking you down a path on a warm sunny day looking at the flowers only to have a storm roll in and leave you there in the storm’s path stunned and wondering what just happened and where will we end up. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with for her next book and/or series but I know whatever it is it will be great.

A few of my favorites:

“No, you obviously don’t get it. You’ve lived your perfect world where you haven’t been happy, but you were always safe and the biggest danger was falling to the springy net below. The world you’re in now is actually dangerous,” he said, his face red, his words carrying heat, his finger pointed to the ground under Zuma. “You seem to think I can save you or protect you. I can’t. There’s no net now, Zuma.”

I’m going to live and I’m going to die, and unlike Dave or most people at Vagabond Circus, I’m not full of some greatness

“Titus it takes a good man to admit when he’s been wrong, but it takes a great man to become the person who would no longer make such mistakes.”

kellys review

Come one, come all for the last installment of the Vagabond Circus! Spellbinding, spine chilling, and incredibly magical! Just WOW! There are a few stories that I have read that have left me “feeling”….I mean, REALLY feeling. This entire series has done that for me. I have read all three and each time I am left with my head spinning and my heart thumping from excitement, surprises, and overall amazement with this story and it’s characters.

Each installment starts right where the other leaves off. In Released, the unthinkable happens and all of the dreamy magic turns to nightmares. Knight is the owner and new ringmaster of the Vagabond Circus. Right from jump things start getting out of control. Knight brings his kids in and Finley is back under his command. Everyone has “creative” intentions but it’s their questionable motives that keep you sucked in. In this captivating world of the circus you will experience everything. The characters are all intriguing. Some frustrating and some are awe inspiring. But most of all the tragedy and love are incredible!

“No, you obviously don’t get it. You’ve lived in your perfect world where you haven’t been happy, but you were always safe and the biggest danger was falling to the springy net below. The world you’re in now is actually dangerous,” he said, his face red, his words carrying heat, his finger pointed to the ground under Zuma. “You seem to think I can save you or protect you. I can’t. There’s no net now, Zuma.”

“She’d know he was a second away from exploding. An inch from the fuse inside him detonating. Zuma was the girl who would want to be there for that. She would endure the shrapnel if she could just be there to hold him up when he finally let it all out and then collapsed.”

“Love really is the most beautiful show. It can’t be rehearsed. It can’t be planned. It is the product of magic. It is what Vagabond Circus is all about.”

I have said it once and I am going to say it again. Sarah Noffke writes tragedy so good it hurts. I love it!!!! “Tragedies bring about great fortunes sometimes.” Well, Ms. Noffke….you have done it again! Bravo! Encore! The show must go on!

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Asking for More by Lilah Pace
Jonah & Vivienne Continued…
EH, IT’S SHORT AND OK. NOTHING NEW THOUGH
3.5 STARS

So, this is just a little novella that covers about the span of a week in the trials and tribulations of Jonah and Vivienne. You don’t really discover too much more than you already knew, but you do get to explore Jonah’s sister a little bit.

As far as Jonah and Viv go, they are still up to their “play” frolics and still have a fascination with that taboo subject! Although Viv get’s hurt AFTER one of their “play” sessions, whiney Jonah seems to get hung up on it a little too long especially since it was not even close to being his fault, but oh well! I think he’s more fucked up than we really know!

Viv is still a very carefree, happy-go-lucky kind of gal and I appreciate that about her. I mean if we had two head cases to deal with I think I might go mental. She sticks pretty close to Jonah, but in my opinion, not for herself, but for him. He seems to need that and her to stay on the right path.

Now Rebecca , Jonah’s sister is pretty damn cool. She lives in Central America by herself and doing fairly well. She’s spunky, witty, and about as open as Jonah… lol! I can’t help but wonder if there might be a longer story there. We’ll see!

So, it’s short, it’s fast, and it’s not really anything new besides more on the sister. The pacing is good, the storyline predictable, and the dialogue somewhat natural. I liked it, but did not love it!

author bio

I have always been a lover of anything that allows my imagination to fly, movies, music, art and of course books of all genres. The opportunity to slip away to another world and live out all sorts of fantasies was the perfect happy place I needed at times, a great escape. It didn’t take long for my love of reading to transform into a desire to write a book of my very own. But being severely dyslexic I never thought that It would be a possibility. Enter my guardian angel with her unrelenting encouragement and I started out on a rollercoaster journey to make my dream come true. When I am not writing I can often be found listening to rock music, delving into the life of a gorgeous alpha male, drawing and painting or trying to teach my cats Boo fishcake and Edward Elton to play fetch [Don’t ask, they think that they are dogs and I am not going to squash their dreams]. My biggest wish that people can find their happy place in the words I write and hope that I can inspire others to know that if I can do they can do it they can share their worlds and imaginations too.

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

I love all things quirky that allow self-expression. Why be like everyone else? Tattoos are a form of living art a way to share a part of you with the world without words. The same with fashion or hair color and piercings. Anything and everything that allows people to stand out from the crowd. I love it when someone has the courage to just be them and say “This is me, deal with it.” I truly believe that the world would be a better place if we all embraced our differences and didn’t try and get people to conform to what other deem as “normal”. Who wants to be normal anyway? I am a proud member of the crazy, different, strange and follow the beat of my own drummer club.

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

I love books that belong to a series, but what I am not a fan of are cliffhangers. I am far too impatient about waiting for the next installment. As a reader when enjoying a book that belongs in a series I like to have a conclusion to the main character’s journey, I don’t feel it hinders the story to tie up loose ends for the main characters. As a writer I sometimes feel conflicted about when the story should end and what storylines should be carried forward to the next chapter in the series. That is why I try to write a story that can carry on for several books but focus on certain characters for each book. Then both the readers and I get to have our cake and eat it too. A story that keeps you guessing but not with a ton of unanswered questions only the want to keep reading. That is more hope anyway.

Where do you do most of your writing?

Everywhere. When I am writing I can get pretty absorbed into the story and everything else disappears. In a Café, home. As long as I have my computer and inspiration strikes you’ll find me tapping away.

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

I am reading Full Domain by Kindle Alexander at the moment. I love all types of genres, some of my favourite M.M Authors and series are Alexa Land First and Forever Series. A.E Via Something Special Series. Jamie Reese The Men of the halfway house series and Mary Calmes Matter of time series.

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

The M/M community is growing every day and I am so excited to be added to the list of Authors that write for the genre. I will say that I have met some of the friendliest and generous people within this community. Not only have I gained some great friends but a lot of the Authors were so kind and helpful with offering advice. My hope is that if ever any one needed help in the future I would be there for them as others were for me.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

That whilst I am absorbed in a story I am completely free. Just another of self-expression.

What are you working on now?

I am currently working on the sequel to Succumbing to his Fear. There will be a little snippet at the end of the book.

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

I know this is going to make me sound very boring, but I don’t think there is anything better than curling up with a good book. Yes even on a Saturday night. I can hear you saying you boring fart from here.

Tell us about the highest HIGH and lowest LOW in your career so far. How has it changed you?

I am at the very start of my writing career so I have yet to experience many of the ups and downs in the industry. I am very lucking though to be surrounded by the best people. A.E.Via and Tim at Via Star Wings Books are fantastic and have helped my achieve my dream. Jay Aheer is so talented and did my Cover Art and Tina Adamski who edited my book and helped me concur so many fears. They are truly amazing and i can’t express how I grateful I am to each of them.

Beauty and the Bull Rider (Hotel Rodeo #3) by Victoria Vane

Beauty and the Bull Rider (Hotel Rodeo, #3)

synopsis

When Beauty Wants A Baby

Championship bull breeder and former Texas beauty queen Delaney McCall was having a heck of a time finding a daddy for the baby she craved. A failed marriage left her with no desire for another husband, but finding the right stud to satisfy her needs presents a bigger problem that she could have imagined.

And The Bullrider Wants Beauty

After hanging up his spurs, bull rider Zac McDaniel wants nothing more than to fulfill Delaney’s dream of having a family. After all, his best friend’s ex has been his fantasy for years. Zac, however, has no desire to be seen as just a means to an end. When Zac insists on doing things the “old fashioned” way, their passion explodes like a bull out of the chute.

Some Bucking Is Bound To Happen

While insisting it’s all just a passing fancy, the more Delaney sees the softer side of the rough and tumble cowboy, the harder it is to keep her emotions corraled. Zac, meanwhile, is more determined than ever to prove he’s what she really needs, and will do whatever it takes to tear down the mile high fence around her heart…

kristis review

I received a copy for a honest review

5 years has past since the events in the second book. During those years the Elementals and Violet have been looking for a way to end Quint when he returns and doing their duties to the earth and it’s inhabitants.
I had felt that Nodin in the past books, while not cold and standoffish, to have a guarded way about him and the book tells us the reason for that.
We get to see what made shaped this great Elemental into what he has become, a man who does his duty and while he loves his family that is all he loves, though he does feel compassion for the humans.
Jacobs shows a whole other side to Nodin by introducing him to Kamali. Kamali is a blind woman of that can see only the aura around people until she meets Nodin, him she can see fully. He has put off meeting her for all this time, though she is part of the plan to get rid of Quint, to give Violet and Flint more time together in case the plan fails.
Kamali isn’t such a strong woman, yet there is a softness, a purity even though she has been through so much.
We are introduced to some new characters: Maize, Kamali’s companion and seeing eye dog, Adler, her uncle who uses her gifts for his own gain, and Raven, her evil Aunt she never knew about until now who has gifts of her own.
I think what is conveyed in this story is that there is no escaping destiny. Whether your destined to be with a certain person, destined to die, or destined to be something more it will happen, destiny always finds a way.
Nodin and Kamali are wonderful together, she gives him what he has been missing and he gives her all the love and support she needs.
I hope Jacobs gives us one more book, Death needs his story told and I hope to see more from the Elementals and Mother Nature.

Today is devoted to CM Michaels

author bio

C.M Michaels grew up in a small town in northern Michigan as the youngest child of a close-knit family of seven. He met his wife, Teresa, while attending Saginaw Valley State University. Together they’ve provided a loving home for several four-legged “kids”, including Sophie, their eternally young at heart, hopelessly spoiled Spaniel. He has always enjoyed writing, and still has fond memories of reading his first book, a children’s novella, to local grade schools when he was 14. C.M. is currently working on the third book in the Sisters in Blood series along with a Fantasy romance called Kerrigan’s Race. An avid reader since discovering Jim Kjelgaard novels in early childhood, his favorite authors include Kelley Armstrong, Peter V. Brett, Richelle Mead, Rachel Caine and Laini Taylor. When he’s not writing, C.M. can be found curled up with a good book, watching movies or hitting the hiking trails with his wife. C.M. currently resides in Louisville, Kentucky.

Tell us about something about you (not included in your normal author bio) that maybe not everyone knows about you.

I am an avid outdoors-man and an ammeter wildlife photographer. My wife and I have visited Yellowstone National Park three times. During our visits we have been fortunate enough to capture great shots of wolves on the hunt, grizzly bears wrestling each other, black bears, coyotes, moose, elk, buffalo, eagles and many other wonderful creatures.

There’s been a trend in writing a series. How do you feel about series? Do you write them? Do you think they are easier or harder?

I am currently working on an Urban Fantasy and a Fantasy series. I really enjoy reading and writing series as it gives the author a chance to develop characters beyond what is possible in a stand-alone book and to have a broader plot-arc which readers can enjoy over a span of time. The characters from some of my favorites series have become so familiar that it feels like I am catching up with family when the next installment comes out. Hearing readers passionately speak about how strongly they identify with my characters has been one of the most rewarding aspects of becoming a writer.

Where do you do most of your writing?

I have a home office with an old-school PC. It provides me with a relatively quiet space so I can focus while still being close enough to the family room to not feel totally isolated from my wife. Someday I may break down and get a laptop. Imagining myself kicking back in the lush valleys of Yellowstone, watching buffalo lazily graze the day away while I work on my next creation is certainly a dream of mine 🙂

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions for your favorite books (beside your own, of course)?

I am currently reading the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine. She is most known for her Morganville Vampire series which I really enjoyed. Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines and Vampire Academy series are two of my all-time favorites. Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series is wonderful, too. For Dystopian , I highly recommend Peter V. Brett’s Warded Man series and Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone series.

Do you feel that this genre is growing? And what do you contribute to that growth or decline?

The Urban Fantasy genre is certainly growing. In spite of me consuming books at a frenzied pace, filling most of our basement, I am never at a shortage for new series to read. I think the reason the genre has so much appeal is that it is still set in the real world, making it easier for readers to imagine themselves as the main characters. At the same time, by introducing magic and the supernatural, the story-line isn’t as bound by the restrictions of ordinary life. More spectacular things can happen. There can be much larger surprises. If you enjoy a good romance sub-plot, rather than being limited to a wrong-side-of-the-tracks scenario, where characters overcome tired social biases to find true love, the hurdles can be much more daunting. Like having to change species, for example. The reader gets to imagine being accepted into a pack of werewolves or joining a vampire coven. The more fantastical world the reader gets to immerse themselves in the more fully they can escape the daily grind.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned about writing?

How much time is spent in the editing process. Between my own proofreads, making changes from Beta reader feedback, doing my full second draft review prior to submitting to my publisher, then the three rounds of edits with the assigned editor, over nine months is spent editing, versus about six months writing the first draft.

What are you working on now?

I am currently working on finishing the first book in my Fantasy series called Kerrigan’s race, along with the third book in my Urban Fantasy, Sisters in Blood series.

What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Even after twenty years of marriage, Saturday night is date night with my wife. We are avid movie goers, and manage to catch most films on the big screen with a nice dinner at one of our favorite spots beforehand. It’s our chance each week to spend quality time together.

Tell us about your highest high and your lowest low in your career so far.  How has it changed you?

My highest high would be the day that I signed my first contract and became a published author. While there are certainly multiple avenues to get your work out there these days, for me, being traditionally published was my first huge goal in my writing career. My lowest low would be receiving the countless rejection letters, 145 in all, before landing the deal for my first book. In the end, the third request for a full manuscript landed me the deal. Even though I knew to expect them, reading through the pile of form rejection letters each day can still be disheartening after a while.

Prepare for a little bit of everything. Dangerous Waters was good but Omnipotent blood really outdoes itself. What happens in a world where you are the monster? You are the hunter, predator, monster…vampire. Just when you think things can’t get any worse you find out there are other monsters that are worse than you. Brooke and her family are on the move after the chaos that ensued at the mall. When trying to keep her family safe and trying to figure out her new powers she is abducted by a demon who wants to use her body and powers to overthrow the angels and the earthen realm. From here there is a one hell of a rollercoater ride. Brooke experiences abuse (sexual, mental, and physical) while her body is being overtaken by a demon. She somehow is able to hold on to a thread of her humanity that allows her to overcome the possession. She then has to face some very hard, heart wrenching decisions in order to help the angels fight the war against the demons. The story goes to many dark places while at the same time is witty and is filled with love. This is a beautifully chaotic story that will hold you in it’s clutches.

“Great. My girlfriend is a witch. Can’t wait until we have our first fight. You’ll probably turn me into a toad.”

“Lately, being around me was like doing research on the world’s deadliest neurotoxins while blindfolded and trapped inside an unstable nuclear reactor. I was a one-girl plague.”

“Horrific squeals and shrieks from the beasts doused in her napalm echoed off the rock walls even as others cried out, creating a macabre cacophony of death that sounded like something the devil himself would conduct.”

The one spoiler I will give is there is a happily ever after. Not quite what you expect but sooooo worth the read!

angies review

I received this book from an honest review.

AHH!!  I love reading this authors books.  It doesn’t matter if it is MM, MMF, or MF, I just love the style of her writing.  I also love how she makes her characters so likeable and so vulnerable but willing to risk it for love.

This story is about broken hearted Cam who takes a vacation to help get over his last break up.  He is sitting at the bar licking his wounded heart when a hot God like man starts a conversation with him.  He ends up spending the day with this mystery man and loving every second of it.

Brandon is there on vacation with his band members when he sees this hot looking guy sitting alone at the bar.  He can tell the guy isn’t into the party environment happening around him so he engages this handsome stranger.

Brandon is stunned when Cam doesn’t recognize him and doesn’t want to let the secret outta the bag about WHO he really is.  The two have fun bonding and hanging around all day.  When the evening finally arrives and things go “further” the two men have feelings and Brandon’s secret is revealed.  Cam could care less about the “real” Brandon but more about this Brandon he has spent the day getting to know and care for.

Now the men have to face the fact that their time is long gone and was too short.  Can they make this quick connection into more than just a summer fling.  I gotta tell you I am super excited for more from these two and what happens with their story.
