Hell hath no fury…. Like a Jimmy Choo wearing woman from Palm Beach being forced to wear hiking boots in the middle of the woods. Ha! Right from the very beginning, Katie is a pain in the rear and you just know she is going to be trouble. Women, even the strong ones, are all trouble, lol! But, with that being said, so are the boys….all trouble!

Fawn and Katie are both from Palm Beach and Fawn is going to marry the Alpha, Bo, of Big Timber. Katie is dragging her feet, complaining about everything saying nothing good will come of this. In the meantime, the packs in the area are all hurting from Kallus’ attack. Dax has reluctantly assumed the position as Alpha of Crazy Peak. His pack has suffered greatly and he goes to Big Timber asking for help. Unfortunately, Big Timber doesn’t want to help as they are dealing with their own issues as well, but none of the packs are communicating. Dax is going crazy with The Hunger. Katie all of a sudden gets incredibly sick. And then things get really crazy. Pack members are coming up missing or dead. Other packs do come to help. We are then introduced to a cult like group obsessed with exterminating abominations. The girls come up missing. The guys are going crazy. And then, and then, and then……

Dax’s and Katie’s story will rival many. These two are at a point that they can’t live without each other. True mates. The story is action packed. Full of drama, suspense, and beautiful magic. Once you start the story, you will have a hard time putting it down. I started laughing from the start thinking about how much alike Katie and I are. And watching how these girls keep all the guys on their toes is amazing. It was an incredible story of love while overcoming discriminations and injustices. A beautiful HEA seeing the mates come together as well as the packs. Loving this addition to A Wolf’s Hunger.

#NewRelease, #Review, #MontgomeryInk, Wrapped in Ink(Montgomery Ink: Boulder #1) by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Montgomery Ink saga continues with a new series set in Boulder, where a family secret might just change everything.

One mistake at a friend’s wedding rocks Liam Montgomery’s entire world, and everything he thought was true turns out to be a lie. But when an accident lands him in the ER, Liam meets someone that might just be the distraction he needs.

Arden Brady has spent her life in and out of hospitals. But according to the world, she doesn’t look sick. She’s lost jobs and friends because they don’t see beneath the surface, but she’s learned to rely on her family and herself to keep going. And then she meets Liam.

With two sets of overprotective siblings and a puppy that can’t help but get into everything, Liam and Arden might just fall harder than either one ever expected.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book

Can we say HELLO Liam Montgomery!!!!  Ah Liam, the name brings to mind Liam Neeson, Liam Hemsworth, and now Liam Montgomery.  I love Liams hee, hee, hee!!
Now with Wrapped in Ink we are onto another branch of the Montgomery tree.  I have to say whoever planned that tree must have been a angel because everyone of them, male and female, are as hot as they are talented.
Liam is a former model turned writer and he’s the Boulder branch’s pretty boy because of it.
Arden Brady has been through hell and sometimes she revisits that most awesome of places when she doesn’t want to, lets face it she never wants to.
Liam and Arden meet in the most unlikely of places…….. a hospital.
What happens next is a story of a man trying to deal with a identity crisis and a woman who doesn’t know how to deal with a man who might not go away like has always happened to her in the past.
Liam thinks that he can use Arden as a distraction but soon discovers he needs her as much as she needs him.
Once again Ryan writes of a couple that could be your next door neighbors. While her characters are talented and beautiful, they are also very down to earth and go through things that we here in the real world deal with.  With Liam it’s a secret from his parents past that he has to deal with and with Arden it’s her health.  Along with the Boulder Montgomerys we meet Arden’s four over protective, over bearing brothers. They are all alpha males, but they make your heart stop every time they are in a scene.
Like with every Montgomery Book you don’t have to have read the series but it helps if  you like to get a whole world view of these characters and their family.
I’m excited to see more of the Montgomery’s and to maybe get another glimpse of the Brady Brothers.
Before I head out i forgot to mention one tiny little thing……………….
THE COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy cover models Batman, this cover has become one of my favorite covers that Carrie Ann Ryan has.
He captured Liam perfectly!!

#Review – Days Gone Bad (Vesik #1) by Eric R. Asher

Days Gone Bad (Vesik, #1)

A crashed wedding. A scorned vampire. Here comes the blood…

Necromancer Damian Vesik is no hero. At least, not according to the magical community that turns a blind eye to his battles against evil. So he chalks it up as one more thankless mission when he’s forced to stop his vampire sister from murdering her ex’s entire bridal party…

Infiltrating the ceremony to protect the innocent, Damian uncovers something even more sinister than a massacre. With the help of his berserker fairy friend, he may need to prevent an unholy union between ancient demons and the walking dead.

Damian has one chance to stop his sister and ruin the wedding before one hell of an afterparty dooms the world.

Days Gone Bad is the first book in the savagely funny Vesik urban fantasy series. If you like gritty action, undead enemies, and plenty of snark, then you’ll love Eric R. Asher’s heart-stopping tale.

“Some crazy bastard was laughing. Oh, right, that was me.”

Damian Vesik! He might be one of my favorite characters ever! Necromancer and all! Paranormal urban fantasy …another favorite of mine! Damian is just a guy trying to run his store and keep the baddies at bay. He doesn’t like waking up early, loves junk food, has fairies living in his clock and his sister is a vampire. Hello?! Who wouldn’t love this? Damian is a necromancer but with a sweet spot for his master, his sister and a panda bear. This story has a lot of undead friends come to life with a terrible battle that comes our way. The characters are all a little different but fit into the story so well. There is plenty of humor in this book too. So, even when the scenes get gory and intense they are broken up with some borderline crazy humor. I must say that if you are looking for a paranormal romance, this is not for you. But you want the funny, gory, over the top story with a tiny bit of sweet, well, then this is the one.

“Zola laughed. It was empty, but we’d learned a long time ago you could laugh, smile, and shrug it off, or let someone clean your brains off the ceiling in the morning.”

This! This line sums up a lot about this book. If you can read this and smile while getting a little intrigued, then you definitely must read Vesik’s story!

#WOTR #Review – Broken Scars by JM Walker

Broken Scars

Ruined. Tortured. Broken.

What could have been the perfect childhood, turned into a hell that the devil himself would shy away from. I was forced to deal with an evil that would make the darkest of souls cringe.

Lily Noel was scarred but beautiful. She was perfectly flawed and everything that I needed.

Attraction bordered on obsession.
Passion bordered on ecstasy.
Addiction bordered on insanity.

Nothing could get in the way of our love.
Nothing…

*This book contains dark themes including sexual assault and past child abuse*

You have to read this! I am having a hard time formulating feelings into words for this review. There are soooo many feelings with this story. There is a haunting past that Lucas lived through, and survived. He copes with this day to day, with some days being better than others. One rainy night, Lily just drops in his shop out of nowhere. And these two have a connection that is incredibly intense. The kind of connection that is felt deep down in the soul. These two both have scars. Scars on the outside and scars on the inside. Some of these scars hide the physical wounds and there are scars hiding emotional wounds. These two are the epitome of love. Even when it’s the scary intense love that you can’t live without, these two fight and continue with their love story. There were times while reading this that I didn’t think I could go on as Lucas’s past unraveled, but he is a mysteriously sweet alpha and I had to continue to find out what made this man the way he is. And bless Lily for being the strong woman she is. These two have a love that will never end. This story is one that will stick with me for a looooong time.

This is a retelling of a classic story The Count of Monte Cristo, I’m not familiar with the original story so i didn’t have anything to compare it to. Overall it was a very well written story with some crazy twist and turns i didn’t see coming it.

Sometimes, Goodbye is the Only Way

Raider Black, Leader of the Novus Pack, will do anything for his people. His word is his bond no matter the sacrifice. Novus has always come first.

Theodora Morrissey is a gift from The Goddess to the Lycan world. It doesn’t take someone with her psychic abilities to see that her future is in jeopardy.

When Theo is discovered bloodied, beaten, violated, and broken, Black must find a way for her to be healed or his dream for their future will be destroyed
Feel Me is Book two of the Novus pack.  We know that Theo and Black are together, but she also knows that its not forever because of two things: 1 she’s human and has a finite life span and Black is immortal. 2: At some point in the future Black is to be mated to a princess from another pack.
Yes, the contract to marry kills her but it was before she was in the picture and it is for the good of the Novus Pack.
Black hates that he has the contract, but he knows he and Theo may have many happy years together before his intended is ready, heck it may not even happen in Theo’s lifetime.
However in the real world fate is a bitch and it is time.
Be prepare to ball you eyes out people, have tissues and wine on hand because you will need it. M. Jayne made me feel all the feels with this one.
So much happens in this story that saying anything well be a spoiler for someone who want to read it for themselves.   Yes it’s only a story, but just like in real life sometimes you gotta get through the bad to get to the good and also yes there is A LOT of bad but there is also A LOT of good.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU my Twinsie friends for turning me onto M. Jayne and I will be waiting on pins and needles for the next book
M. Jayne doesn’t know what she wants to be when and if she ever grows up. #WOTR19Attending #Review #Shifter #NovusPack – See Me by M. Jayne/Melanie Jayne

Throughout history, The Lady, Goddess of the Lycan world, has gifted werewolf packs with humans who carry her mark. Theodora Morrissey’s plans to return to college for her graduate degree are ended when she is awakened by an otherworldly voice on a rarely used airstrip in Nebraska. Injured and disoriented, she has no idea the discoloration on her back has marked her as a Seer, and that she is now a possession—and the prisoner—of the Novus Pack of Lycans.

To the Novus pack, the word of their leader, their Laird, is the law. With compelling gray eyes and long dark hair, Raider Black rules his pack with intelligence and ruthlessness. To cement the security of his pack, Black has committed to mate another Packleader’s daughter. But he’s finding it impossible to fight his attraction to the pack’s alluring new Seer, claiming her as his own.

Sweet, fearless, and unintentionally funny, Theo upends Black’s world and pushes the boundaries of his rules. How far is Black willing to go, and what will he sacrifice, to save both his pack and the human Seer who’s found a way not only into his bed, but his heart?
So as a reader I sometimes get stuck on what to read next and nothing sounds good, this is why I’m glad my friends are readers too.  See sometimes we read the same authors, but there are other times that they can off up a new author that I haven’t read and this is one of these times.
While searching for someone to read  some of the other Twinsie pointed me in the direction of M. Jayne and her Novus pack.
Holy heck am i glad for friends after starting this series.  First of all I love how every shifter author has their own rules for shifters and while some are the same there are differences too.
Theodora Morrissey is left beaten and frozen on a airstrip runway and is no longer just a “human” when she awakes, she is now a Seer and marked by The Lady.
Raider Black is the Novus pack leader, for him Novus comes first above everything and he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that it stays that way,
OMG, the heat that these two have is off the charts first of all and second Theodora is having to learn about her new life.  Her place is with the pack, she is theirs, well Black’s, and there is no going back to her old life.
She has all these things that she has to learn, about the pack, about shifters, about what The Lady has gifted her and how to use her gifts for the good of the pack.  While she has been marked which is a honor, she is also just human so not as good as a wolf.
Black and Theodora fight the pull between them for a while and it is hot watching said pull, its also hot watching them when they stop fighting.
Not only is the book hot, but it has its humorous moments too.  Along with the hot and funny are some tearjerking moments, so be prepared to laugh, cry, and be turned on all with one book. LOL!!

M. Jayne doesn’t know what she wants to be when and if she ever grows up. I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Alessa…man her life is not awesome.  Its full of everything bad and painful and you just feel for her and her struggles.  When she can leave town with the Wayward Kraken MC she jumps.  She doesn’t know what will happen, but she knows she will be living a new life from what she had in the town.

This story is not for the weak at heart.  Its dark and deals with subject matter that not everyone wants to read. K.B. doesn’t shy away from the difficulty’s life can hand someone.  She tackles subject matter like drug addiction, feeling not whole and wanting more than they have. The MC Brothers show Alessa that she too can be whole even with missing parts of herself.  They give her love and most of all a family.

The story is not for the faint of heart but it is a great story to make your eyes leak and you cheering for the whole “love to conquer all” philosophy.

#NewRelease #Review #TrueMates #Shifter A Witch in Time:True Mates Generations Book 4 by Alicia Montgomery

When three strangers appear at his doorstep, Lord Reed Townsend, Duke of Huntington, knows something is not quite right. And it’s not just because his wolf immediately recognizes Elise Henney as his True Mate. But the cold, unfeeling Alpha doesn’t want to risk his heart again, despite the fact that his wolf is urging him to claim their mate. He ignores his instincts, hoping that the desire and longing he feels for the young American miss would eventually go away.

Transported from modern day New York to Regency England, wolf shifter Elise Henney and her companions deduce that their only way home lies with the London Alpha. But, Reed’s suspicious nature is a major hindrance, not to mention, his cold, unfeeling nature. Still, she can’t help but feel drawn to the broody duke, but he can never know who she really is or where she’s from.

Sparks fly despite their denial of their attraction to each other. But, Elise’s only way home relies on Reed’s fate, one she cannot change no matter what happens. Can they let history play out as it’s supposed to or will they defy time, in order to be together?
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

Welcome to True Mates Generations book 4 and after reading it I now want to watch Back to the Future!!!
That’s right a couple of the true mate kiddos travel accidentally back in time after a attack by the mages.
Elise Henney’s parents are the alphas of the San Francisco clan.  She and her mother are in New York for the new Alpa’s ascension.  Elise is a hybrid wolf/witch, she has never been able to control her powers so she wears gloves.  When the mages attack during the ceremony she uses her powers and she, Julianna Anderson, and Cross Jonasson are transported back in time to Regency  London.
Reed Townsend is about to become the alpha of London when these unfamiliar people save his nephew.
He is unsure of these new guest that he now has, he just knows that he is attracted to Elise and they are not telling the truth.
As always the chemistry between True Mates is off the charts!!  It’s crazy that Elise had to travel back in time to find her mate.
Of course we gotta deal with the mages, it wouldn’t be a True Mates story without them trying the screw thing up.
It was funny seeing 3 people from this time trying to fit in during that time period and Alicia Montgomery did a excellent job at making me feel that it was a smooth transaction be between time periods.
I’m excited to see who will be the next True Mate kiddo to find their mate and to see if they can defeat the mages once and for all.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I love a good shifter book and this one didn’t disappoint!!!  Whoop Whoop!!!

I love a mysterious alpha who also has some scars on his heart.  I love a strong female who wont just take orders and expects full respect and love.  Nara and Liam fit the bill to a T.

The story starts and I admit it’s a little bit choppy getting through the backstory abut Nara and her betrothal and Liam being the creepy “big brother” type in the background.  However, once the background is told it does seem to flow better.

Liam has always known Nara was his and once he gets her to open her eyes and SEE him for who he is, her soul mate, everything changes.  Liam has some dark secrets and is afraid to tell Nara everything.  His pride is something that causes issues between the two. Nara too has issues that cause the couple trouble….like her mile long stubborn streak.

The backstory of Liam and the story about the war to come is a good one.  Though Liam and Nara have serious communication issues between them but they still find the love that they have between each other.

I loved the story about the war that is coming and I will definitely enjoy reading more in the series.
