The Amber Project:
Holy dystopia! The Amber Project is a great dystopian journey. This is a genre I love to read and sometimes get a little iffy on how much it will differ from others in the same genre. The author sets the setting so that you are right there. The characters all feel incredibly real. You will connect with them very quickly. Humans are trying to keep their race going while living underground. The earth has been destroyed by the gas, Variant. During the entire story you are given snippets of audio recording from past and present regarding Variant and the various experiments the scientists and the military have been working on. During all of this you live and feel what the genetically altered kids are going through. You see why and how they are taken from their homes and sent to a place where they are trained like soldiers. And finally you experience the changes that they face internally and externally. They are forced to go to the surface for a mission. Many things are unknown and very dangerous. The journey they take and the uprisings going on below the surface are sure to keep you stuck on the story. The ending is very well written. It’s enough to wrap up this story but more than enough to keep you waiting on pins and needles for the next. This is my first story by JN Chaney and absolutely, under no circumstances, be the last. Well done!
Just wow! I need more! This story picks up a few years after The Amber Project. We find out that Terry has been transported to another planet. Mei is working at the ruins but also has her own agenda on trying to find out what happened to Terry. The point of views go back and forth between the unknown planet and Earth. The world building is incredible. Earth is still nothing like we know of it today and the way the author describes the new Earth and the unknown planet that Terry is on is hard to resist. We get to experience Terry’s trials as he decides if he is going to continue to survive or not. And on the other hand we see Mei and John go through their own trials deciding if they need to move forward or not, on the low, to try and find out what happened to Terry. Both sides meet great new characters and many new journeys start. I have to warn you that this story is not like The Amber Project. Our characters have grown and are in completely different areas of their lives. I love how Transient Echoes compliments the Amber Project. It’s different and exciting! Kudos to JN Chaney for another great story!
Oh my gods! The story just keeps getting better and better. Each installment in this series is different from the other one. The world building expands in the greatest way and each new character is full of surprises. All the characters add something unique to the story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. And best of all…who can you trust? Loyalty and trust are huge in this story. Everyone is in search of the truth and an impending war is upon us. Our characters from Earth are right in the middle of the mess. Everlasting is a city full of technology and power. This city cannot breath the Variant air. All of the other natives to Kant are more primitive and with many different religious beliefs. When all of this clashes things really get out of hand. It’s a very emotional book that just does not stop. There is the perfect combination of emotion and action to make this an incredible addition to this series. Sending kudos to the author on this one! Well done!
The Vernal Memory:
An outstanding conclusion to this series! Just wow! The rebellion has made themselves known to our Earthling characters. For me, I found trust and loyalty were major factors in the story in general. Once again I found this to get stronger throughout this story. Throw an intense amount of greed in there and you have the perfect twist to an amazing ending. Terry has set out to help Garden (the rebels) find a weapon to help stop the Leadership in Everlasting. John Finn (Terry’s best friend from Earth) is helping Everlasting to locate Garden to bring the rebel leader in. Mei Curie (our other Earth best friend) is working on locating a cure for the Variant air. When all of them end up on different sides of this war the rollercoaster of action and emotion get intense! All of our Earthlings have made special bonds and friendships with natives of Kant. This is a place of the impossible becoming possible. Curiosity and countering traditional thought is what brings this book out on top. The twists and turns in this story are more than enough to justify the late nights spent reading this series. Once again this author has given us another amazing story that makes this series absolutely extraordinary. Bravo!!

***This is part two of a four part reverse-harem serial. Recommended for 18+ for language and sexual situations. It is approximately 18,000+ words. Note: this does end on a cliffhanger***

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
GAH!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This book made me super happy!! To turn on my kindle and see this little baby sitting there waiting for me…yup I told the family to figure out dinner because I was going in!
So Luce….welll at the end of the last book Hollis saved her from some bad vampires who were trying to kill our girl…so not cool FYI. Hollis is totally enraptured by Luce and he has no clue why. He needs to protect her and do other things with her too *Wink*
Luce wakes up in a blood lust haze and attacks the agent but then discovers he has a secret he has been hiding from everyone. The couple spend time getting better acquainted and learning more secrets….. Come on you KNOW what I am meaning people!!! When it’s time to go home Luce is a mess because she knows she has a certain wolf that will not be happy with the smells he will be smelling. The trio discuss a reverse harem situation and Claudia is super jelly!! LOL Girl I am so with Claudia on this scenario!!
Luce is kinda flipping out but needs to think. While she is taking her “thinking time”, the bad guys get even badder. Hollis has to have Lucy try to id Viper when everything goes haywire!!
I love how in this serial nothing seems rushed. KB takes the time to tell the story but doesn’t make it drag and certainly doesn’t rush it. She gives all the characters time to let you the reader understand what is going on.
I am super stoked for the 3rd installment of the 4series serial. I THINK I know who was talking to Lucy but ya just never know do ya….until the next book!!!
K.B. Ladnier is from a small city in Southern Mississippi. She has one daughter and three cats who she claims are stealing her soul in only tiny doses so she won’t notice. She is a cyborg and spends most of her time hiding from her tiny human so she doesn’t have to share her snacks as she reads her favorite books. She hates the beach yet lives only ten minutes away from it and daydreams of mountains and snow. She is married to a hot nerd and loves him dearly even though he hordes cookies and occasionally hides her prosthetic leg from her when she’s mad, so he can get a quick escape. She plans to write as long as people continue loving what she does, otherwise she’s going to say screw it and do her second dream of owning a coffee shop. Though, she may still do both.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Whoop! Love me some shifters!!
This was a great, quick read for me while I was hanging outside on a nice afternoon free from work.
Caleigh and her pack are having some financial issues. She tells her father, the Alpha, but also lets it slip to her sister from another mister/another pack member bestie Sage. Caleigh is pretty sad and stressed out when Sage calls that she has a solution to her problems. Caleigh runs to find out WHAT!!
Luca is Sage’s older brother and Alpha of the pack. To say he is a dominant man s an understatement. He gives Caleigh a plan, be my mate for 6 months and I will bail you out……WHAT? Has he been drinking? Luca can and does get any woman he wants so why does he want Caleigh?
Caleigh goes all in and is falling for our Alpha when things happen to cause her to not believe in him anymore. The couple have to come to face some real-life issues with their “fake” mating.
I loved the story and thought it was a super fun, light read for any shifter lover. I would love more from the family because there is a story there about Safe and Caleigh’s brother I just know it!!!

MAYA LEARNS THAT BEST FRIENDS SHARE EVERYTHING…INCLUDING HER
Happy to spend the night at home with her live-in lover, Max, Maya is surprised to find out he’s made other plans for them. Plans which include inviting his drop-dead gorgeous, tongue tying, panty meltingly hot best friend, Foster over.
Max is convinced Maya doesn’t like Foster, but thinks he can fix the problem if he can only get the two of them to spend some quality time together.
Maya’s feelings for Foster are complicated. She feels guilty for harboring an attraction to Foster, that borders on obsession, even though she’s head over heels in love with Max. And Foster’s good looks make her so nervous and flustered that she can barely manage to speak in his presence.
No matter – these things tend to work themselves out when two rock hard alpha bad boys get their babygirl sandwiched between them on a tiny couch, in front of a blistering hot porn, while plying her with alcohol…
Twinsie Jo’s Review:
I should have been writing my own book but instead I was in the mood to read something hot, short and again…hot. Well I came across this book by Kat which is free and let me tell you, it sure heated up my kindle.
Maya loves her boyfriend, Max, but is also attracted to his best friend, Foster. After a couple of drinks, their night turns into an explosion of raw chemistry, intense sex and some of the hottest dirty words from a male character I have ever read.
Attending a co-worker’s Halloween party dressed as a sexy fairy was the worst decision Shelby Maxwell made all week. That is until she lets her temper get the best of her in front of Dallas’s finest and ends up in the back of a police cruiser. Too bad the gorgeous jerk responsible for her bad behavior didn’t have the sense to avoid the police, himself.
When someone shoots up the party, the gorgeous jerk, Nick Kang, sprouts fur, explodes out of the police cruiser, and saves the day. Nick’s jerk streak continues as he leaves Shelby to explain what happened.
After her name is released to the press, a penitent Nick arrives to protect Shelby from the killer’s mafia associates. Close quarter guarding leads to close quarter groping and a little more intimacy than Shelby is prepared for. But it may be time to put her past behind her and accept far more than the safety Nick offers.
I so enjoyed this read it had me turning pages to see what Shelby would say next. She doesn’t hold back. What kind of girl is Shelby well let me just say when she goes to Halloween party where she dressed as a fairy, and not in the Tinker Bell fairy kind of way, when she runs in to the biggest jerk ever Nick and we see her personality shine. What’s a girl to do when being treated like this she lets loose and finds herself in the back of a police cruiser with the Jerk. Thinking her biggest issue is going to jail only things go terribly wrong and she finds herself in a strange and unbelievable predicament. Just when she thought no biggie I will never see him again she is pulled out on a double date with her bestie only to find she is face to face with the Halloween party Jerk. Now that she finds herself in the center of danger Nick takes it upon himself to protect her. Nick has found his one but Shelby has no idea what that entails only that she is up for a little fun but when Nick has to bring in back up she finds her life may have to take a change of course. Is she ready for that? Can she be what Nick needs?
I loved seeing Nick and Shelby’s personalities show when they are with one another. Shelby had me chuckling and turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. Not only did I enjoy Shelby and Nick but I also found myself wanting to know more about the side characters also. I enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more of this series.

Everything changed for Jasper Benedict, the Earl of Ailesbury, the night his family died in a tragic fire—the same fire that left him disfigured. Now, his scars have given him the name the Beast of Faversham. But when he stumbles upon a damaged carriage during a tempest, the beautiful woman inside reminds him of the man he wishes he could be: free of his past, and able to love.
TAMES A BEAUTY WITH A WICKED PAST
When her carriage breaks down outside Faversham Abbey, this is just the most recent in a long series of misadventures for Miss Adeline Price. Her beauty hides a fatal flaw: she’s quick to judge, and rarely looks beneath the surface. But the longer she’s around Jasper, the more she begins to want to be better—someone deserving of him.
But when it comes time to reunite Adeline with her family in London, will Jasper believe that she sees not his scars, but the good, honorable man he is?
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
AHHHHH Beauty and The Beast!! This book is totally a retelling of Beauty and The Beast!!
So our girl Adeline is a bit of a spoiled brat right?? She pouts a lot ad gets her way a lot with her brother and new sister in law/bestie Theo. When Adeline has to take her 2 youngest sisters to boarding school she has a problem with her carriage. It breaks down in the coldest and rainiest of nights.
Jasper is a scarred man who only has the servants for friends. The town calls him the Beast and he is ok with the lonely life. He has duties to his people and that is all he can see for his future…his duty. When he offers to let Adeline in his house for the night, everything changes for the two
Adeline sees an imperfect person become the perfect match for her. Jasper learns that he too wants more than just his duty to the villagers. The couple have to learn how to communicate with each other on his lands with his villagers and when they are forced to return to London and deal with the ton.
I loved this book. I loooooved seeing Adeline grow as a person in the novel. We see the brat becoming a woman and taking a stand for what she wants. I loved Jasper for his heart. He may act like the shunning doesn’t hurt but he wears his heart on his sleeve. When Adeline is the first woman to look at him as more than a Beast, he is so confused and unsure what to do.
The ballroom scene made me have a few tears especially at how bare Adeline lays it all out for her family and friends regarding Jasper.

Once a Disciple, forever a Disciple. Man whore. Ex-con. All-around asshole. Daz is called a lot of seedy things. But his brothers know there’s more to him even if it is buried deep beneath the surface.
A Disciple will fight like a savage and never give up. As a stripper, Avery is no stranger to judgment. That doesn’t stop her from assuming Daz is nothing more than a hot body, though. But when tragedy lets her see behind the cocky-jackass exterior, there’s no denying the truth. For this biker to go down, there has to be more than sparks—he needs full combustion.
Daz The bastard sun woke me at what had to be not long after dawn. Seeing as it had to be after two before I’d finished fucking Avery for the final time—on her hands and knees since her body couldn’t keep up with her greedy fucking pussy—the early wakeup call could fuck right off. I wanted to move to shut the blinds, but Avery was sprawled partly on my chest. I wasn’t averse to keeping a woman in bed with me overnight. Some guys who were looking to get tied down might not have let that shit fly, but I found the benefit of a warm, welcoming woman in the morning was worth the risk she might not know the score. Right then, though, my dick wasn’t stirring. It was too fucking early, and Avery had worn him out. That alone was a novel experience. Never, not once, had a woman satisfied me so completely. Avery was just a fucking natural. Even her perky, bared tits pressed against me didn’t get me past a half chub. My dick was too sated to rise to the occasion. I couldn’t say whether that was fucking fantastic or scared the shit out of me. While I was trying to puzzle that shit out, Avery groaned and brought a hand up to shield her eyes. Cracking one lid, she glared at the window with a ferocity that shouldn’t have been sexy. That half stock I’d been rocking started to perk up. Apparently, he wasn’t fully worn out after all. “You and your dick distracted me last night before I remembered to close the blinds,” she grumbled. Grabbing her hand, which made her shut her eyes as I stole her shield, I brought it down to press against said dick. “Could distract you again.” “Too early,” she denied, but she didn’t move her hand away either. My cock cozied up into her touch and I bit back a groan. “He disagrees.” “Your cock gets its own vote?” “He, sugar,” I corrected. “Show him some respect.” That lost me her hand on my dick and gained me a slap in the gut. “Close the blinds and I’ll show him some respect later.” “How come I have to get my ass up to shut the blinds when you were the one who bought a house with east-facing windows in the bedroom?” I grumbled even as I did just that. “Bad fuckin’ call, babe.” “I didn’t realize that was east. I viewed the house in the middle of the afternoon,” she argued. “Besides, I bought this place based on the kitchen. The bedroom just had to be here.” Pulling the drapes—blackout ones, good but unsurprising with the hours I knew she worked—and darkening the room to give us both some relief, I told her, “That’s some jacked logic. The bedroom’s where all the best shit happens.” She peeked her eyes open again, keeping them that way when she’d verified I’d blocked out the damn light. “You’ve eaten my cupcakes.” Fuck me, but she was right. She created some serious magic in that kitchen. “Fair point,” I conceded, collapsing back onto the bed. I rolled toward her, pulling her body into mine and maneuvering my leg so it was bent between hers, the warmth of her pussy against my thigh. “Too fuckin’ early. Back to sleep.” Avery’s body was stiff for a minute, but I stayed put and quiet. She took a bit, but she let whatever was fixing to crawl up her ass go, settled in, and we both fell asleep again.

Her debut novel, Dissonance, released in August of 2014.
